Recently had lunch here and was pleasantly surprised. Loved the atmosphere. Comfortable, low-key and not overly loud. The menu has plenty of different choices with various sides that come with different lunches, so everyone should find something they might enjoy here. They also have a pasta salad of the day, and they all sound amazing! They have cold sandwiches, entree salads, burgers, and other grilled sandwiches. I enjoyed the Blackened Salmon on fresh Ciabatta bread with a mango relish. I picked fries for my side and was excited as they were thin fries with a crispy outside, which I love! My friend had the reuben, which also looked quite tasty. Our waiter was awesome-super friendly, helpful and perfect with the amount of time he spent with our table. They have a nice selection of beer and so many options for lunch or dinner, Stella is definitely a great local favorite with menu items that will please anyone you are sharing your table with. read more

First time eating there yesterday, as it was close to St. Marks Hospital where we had an appointment. What a find! Friendly, courteous, attentive staff, and the food was perfection. My husband had the hanger steak sandwich which he said was excellent, and I had the Mexican hot roast dip sandwich which was beyond excellent. And the French onion soup...wow! Fresh-brewed iced tea tasted perfect, and our shared three-layer chocolate cake was also delicious. That feel of a neighborhood restaurant is always inviting. I want to like Stella's SO bad as we live pretty much walking distance, but every time we come back we're kinda disappointed. We've tried Stella's 4-5 times and every time the service is great, but the food is so... blah. The catfish was overcooked and so mushy. I've ordered the same salad on multiple visits, and the fingerling potatoes are always undercooked. I can't say enough good things about Stella. I almost don't want to so I can keep it a secret in our neighborhood. They have a pretty standard menu with daily specials. I have had everything on their menu, and I haven't been disappointed at any of them. But my go-to is their blackened salmon sandwich with a mango salsa. My fiancé and I finally decided to come check this little neighborhood spot out after a friend mentioned they like coming here for brunch. We pass it all the time and always wanted to check it out but never made a point to do it until this past weekend. We spent over 8 hours packing up our house and didn't feel like cooking our own dinner so we decided to treat ourselves to Stella. We must have arrived at just the right time because we didn't have to wait very long but after we finished the waiting area was packed with people waiting to be seated. I think we got there before 630. The service was spectacular from the moment we sat down (I really appreciate when servers help each other out when they notice a table needs help taking orders, getting refills, clearing tables, etc). The two women working our section did a great job helping us out throughout our whole meal. We ordered the Artichoke dip to start since we were so hungry and it came out right away. It was a parmesan artichoke dip with balsamic reduction and paprika sprinkled on top. It was a smooth consistency and so full of flavor and so different from the usual dips we have had. It came with crostini to dip but they weren't extremely crispy which I loved because I could actually eat it (with my braces I can't eat hard bread). I ordered the Chicken Breast & Prosciutto sandwich without the Prosciutto and bread, with a side salad and it came with chips. The chicken was moist and perfectly grilled with light seasoning and it had a large grilled red pepper on top which was covered in melted mozzarella cheese. It was scrumptious and I so appreciated that they accommodated my needs by making it a lettuce wrapped sandwich since I didn't want bread. My fiancé ordered the Prawns & Pancetta and he devoured every last bite. He was so excited to see it on the menu and try it. He loved the sauce, how the noodles and Prawns were cooked, the vegetables in the dish....everything. He even ordered a piece of bread to go with it so he could dip it in the sauce and savor every last bite (and even that bread was amazing). It was a great little spot to grab food and we would definitely go back if we were staying in the area. I was surprised to see the menu and how similar it is to Desert Edge or Red Butte and then I turned it over and saw the list of sister restaurants on the back and it all made sense. Stella Grill has a clean modern look throughout with some rustic charm. Hardwood floors and lots of natural wood along with large, picture widows let in a lot of pretty sunlight during the day, making it very nice inside. We ate here for lunch a few weeks ago. It was my first time eating here but my wife's third or fourth time. I had the Italian Dip sandwich which was pretty good. The meat was a little fatty and tough in parts but overall the flavor of the sandwich was decent. I'd consider eating at Stella's again but remembering the menu there weren't very many items that really caught my attention. Maybe they have some different options for dinner, I don't know, that may be worth checking out another time. read more

All I can say is, get the steak and potato salad. Holy. Moly. This place is right by my work, and it's so hard to convince myself not to stop here every day for lunch! I love how fast their lunch service is, you'll be in and out in under 45 minutes. This makes it an ideal place for a quick break, or a business meeting. I've been here many times, as they are a staple in the Murray/Millcreek area. I've never had a bad dish, so don't be afraid to try whatever tickles your fancy that day. I love this restaurant. My husband and I visit a couple times a month. He gets the steak salad which is always done to perfection. I love the great pasta and French Onion Soup but one complaint I have is anything made with chicken. The chicken is always over cooked, dry and chewy. Had the Asian chicken salad tonight and even asked them not to overcook the chicken. It came out hard and chewy again. The salad is so wonderful. I'll admit it -- I'm biased. We loved Bubba's when it was opened at this location over a decade ago. We miss Bubba's menu, the delicious food, and the funky atmosphere. Stella Grill is such a bland replacement in every way (menu, food, atmosphere), but it seems the majority prefer it as it is busier than Bubba's ever was. Anyone else miss Bubba's catfish club sandwich? Their peach cobbler!? We do. We go to Stella's on occasion, but it just strikes us as a chain like restaurant. It's a little nicer than an Applebee's or a Chile's; but it's meh compared to Bubbu's or to many other options. read more

This place has been on my list of to try. I've driven by and it's always looked empty but tonight there was a decent crowd. Walked in, no hostess and I wasn't sure if it was seat yourself or not. Finally got seated. The salmon salad is to die for. It is really tasty and flavorful. I would have given I it 5 stars but the salad was overdressed and the service was mediocre. I enjoy the quiet location of Stella Grill and the unique refurbished building. The parking lot lights, exposed air ducts, garage doors and patio corner provide a different atmosphere than your ordinary local eatery.
