Glued to the screens we saw our pizza picked up by a robotic claw, dropped and stamped flat by a robotic press which mishandled the crust a tiny bit, ferried into an oven by a conveyor belt, and presented to us by a human employee. The pizza came out tasty although a little floppy and dripping with pepperoni oil, easier to handle when cooled down a bit. Maybe the extra sauce caused the floppiness. Also got the jalapeno ranch dip which was tasty but will likely skip next time unless it's robot made ;) Suggestions: Have the robot claw drop the dough more centered or have the press able to move to the center of a dropped dough, may need to wait a few seconds as the dough flattens out from gravity to determine the center point. Maybe eliminate extra sauce if it's causing a floppy pizza. I heard the oven temperature may have burned a pizza earlier, so lower the oven temp but use a pizza stone. May need to alter the dough ingredients ratio. Lastly, use a different less oily pepperoni. Service was fast and friendly. I guess the appeal of this truck is the gimmick of watching the "robot" make your pizza. The pizza itself is not good. Maybe it makes sense for the students who live in dorms and can't cook their own frozen pizza. They are giving the pizzas away at a deep discount at UCLA and USC right now, so reviews have been veeeerrrry generous. For real, though, Stellar is serving up worse pizza than every single restaurant or truck that serves pizza in Los Angeles. Every aspect of the pizza is subpar, from the crust to the sauce to the cheese. Their pepperoni is so low-grade you couldn't buy it at a grocery store or deli. It's the kind that only exists on store-brand frozen pizzas and inside Hot Pockets. Stellar pizza is worse than almost every frozen pizza as well. I would prefer Tombstone and Red Baron over this, easily. Their marketing keeps mentioning the owner's background as a Space-X engineer. Well, that's great for the robot section of this endeavor, I suppose. As for the food? It's bad. Quite bad. I thought it was pretty cool and never been done before so wanted to try and had a biiig pizza craving. I really thought it was gunna slap. Unfortunately it was not good. The crust wasn't good and the marinara sauce kind of reminded me of like the marinara you get in a lunchable. I was sad. I got a cheese pizza maybe the other ones were better.
