Egg over easy atop corned beef hash with home fries
    Elaine F.

I had not been to this place since 1996, but we returned to the area for a weekend and I wanted to check out the old neighborhood. Well, Stella's is still going strong, and better than ever. We arrived about 9:30 am on a Saturday morning. There were still some booths to choose from, and also folks sitting at the counter. I ordered an egg over corned beef hash (something you don't see much on breakfast menus in Maryland) and my husband had the Special breakfast with two eggs, bacon, and French toast. Both plates were a home run. The food came out faster than I expected. The two servers were really pleasant and hard working. My husband wants to go back there on the way back to Logan.

Well done hash (just got I love it!)

What a great new find! First time here and I promise you it won't be the last. Just came in for a quick breakfast in my way to work and everything I got was delicious. They made the corned beef hash just how I love it.. well done how I asked for it. So good!! French toast is solid. Love their iced coffee as well. Next time looking forward to seating and eating in as the space was very nice and clean. Can't wait to return and try more dishes!

I'm convinced this place is part of an alternative reality. I went for breakfast last week and it was silent when walking in. Mostly older people were there so I can't say it's a great spot for young adults. The walls are a muted color and there is no music or any background noises. The workers did not acknowledge me until after I sat down and even then, seemed like they only came over when they absolutely had to. The menu was littered with typos and spelling errors, which is just embarrassing and unprofessional. The food wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't come back.

The outdoor area is inviting, and inside there's a great mix of low-top tables, high-tops, bar seating, and cozy spots to settle into. Everything feels thoughtfully spread out, and I loved being able to see the open brick oven and activity in the kitchen. The space also has a bit of a bakery/café vibe, making it feel like a place where you could stop in for a quick grab-and-go item or stay awhile for a full meal. The staff made a great impression too. The people at the front were incredibly helpful to my guest, who was having some trouble with their phone. I also ordered one of the specialty drinks but asked for it without alcohol. The bartender absolutely nailed it--it was so good that my only complaint was that it didn't come in a bigger glass. For food, I had the grass-fed burger and fries (see photo), and it exceeded my expectations. The burger was so juicy and flavorful that I ended up cutting it into pieces just to make it manageable. Every bite was delicious. What I appreciate most is that I left feeling like I hadn't even experienced everything the restaurant has to offer. I already want to go back, choose a different seat, and enjoy a completely different perspective of the space. Honestly, it feels like the perfect place to spend a rainy afternoon. This is your sign, visit now!

I burned a hole into the backs and sides of their heads and left no gratuity to the failson that decided to finally acknowledge me. 1 star for the never-changing menu.

Things that Granite Street Cafe had going for it which won them our visit:…read more 1) They were open early. 7am - 2pm, every day. We wanted to be somewhere by 8am, so that worked for us. 2) They have a parking lot, just past the intersection, after the building on Water Street. Okay, this was more of a bonus for us, at least initially, but when I got there and saw the streets around them, I even more appreciated it. There's also an entry from the parking lot, but it isn't particularly clearly marked. I read about it on someone else's review, and got there first, so I had time to meander. But is the metal staircase closest to the sidewalk. There was a single waitress, which meant service wasn't the quickest. But she was nice and knew her regular by name. The booths had clear plastic (or glass... I didn't touch them to verify) dividers - perhaps due to the pandemic and social distancing, perhaps not, but I liked them and they seemed a part of the original booths, rather then an after thought. We split a sweet and a savory - double strawberry pancakes (3 pancakes with both berries cooked in, and strawberry compote, whipped cream on the side) $12.50, and Granite Street Benedict (with corned beef hash) $14.50. The sweet was surprisingly not too sweet, while the savory was a bit too salty. We weren't hurried along or anything. And they take both cash or credit.

These ladies (though both fairly new to the bar) were warm, engaging and respectful - checked in just enough to make sure we were happy and enjoying, but were never disruptive or intrusive. The food was delicious, as were the mocktail/lemonade we ordered. Multiple managers also did a quick table (bar) touch to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. Fluffy Eggs althoughI couldn't taste the jalapeno cheese, excellent pork sausage, french toast and pancakes were awesome. My sisters complaint was about the jalapeno cheese. Y'all gotta get a better jalapeno cheese or add a real jalapeno to it. The other issue was, the smashed potatoes were inconsistent due to the salt content. However, everything else ordered was very good. By the way. Met the manager. Her name is Ms. Abigail. Talk about accommodatingly awesome! With her confident and compassionate customer service acumen, she made everthing perfect. We'll be back soon. Hope to see y'all here in the near future.
