From the outside of the restaurant the restaurant felt welcoming with a modern ambience and loft like architectural design. The staff was very friendly and attentive; the Owner of the restaurant, Tay, was more than happy to answer any all questions about the restaurant and most importantly the menu. My partner and I had several dishes, which included the Seafood Bibimbap, Beef Bibimbap, Korean Octopus Ceviche, and Kimchi Fried Rice. 10/10 highly recommend each and every one of these dishes. The ceviche was perfectly seasoned as it was our appetizer and introduction to the rest of the savory dishes to come. Truly some of the best korean food i've had. The kimchi was definitely made in house and perfectly paired each dish. Cannot rave about this place enough, excited to see how their journey continues. Lastly, I didn't include our dessert in the picture but the Crème Brûlée was the perfect end to an amazing meal. read more

The food was amazing. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all delicious. The only complaint I have was the speed of the service. We went on a Tuesday night as a group of 6. The place was pretty empty having only two other tables occupied. We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated which wouldn't have been a problem if they had to set up a table for us, but they sat us at a table that had already been set up, so I'm not sure what took them the 20 minutes. Once we were sat the servers were very nice but our entire dinner took over two hours. We had to get up and go to the counter repeatedly in order to ask for things we needed. One of the servers apologized for how slow the service was and said that she was training a new employee, but they literally only had three tables including us the entire time we were there, so I'm not sure how it took so long. Despite this experience, I'll definitely be back because I'm assuming based on the other reviews that this was just a one off experience and the food really was delicious so hopefully my next visit will be different. read more

The decor inside is very clean and modern. Overall very aesthetically pleasing. The dish-ware used is also very nice and modern. But the most important part, the food, was most disappointing. I was so excited to try a Korean restaurant in Reno that I came here for my anniversary but we left feeling very dissatisfied. We started with the honey cheese wings, which had a very delicious outside flavoring but the chicken itself was hard to eat. It had the same consistency as when I reheat my food 3x. I also wish they included some sort of extra sauce because the tough chicken left my throat very dry. I would've drank some water but the server didn't seem to understand that I wanted a normal glass of water. I initially asked for water, to which she asked if I wanted hot water, I said no just regular water, & she still proceeded to bring me hot water in a class cup. My partner then had to ask twice for her to bring a cold glass of water. He got an iced tea that tasted like nothing so when he asked if he could get a different drink, she said yes but still brought him more iced tea. She was very nice but I think her English comprehension is not sufficient enough to be a server. For our main dishes we got the bulgogi and jjajang udon. My partner said he regretted ordering the bulgogi, as the meat was tough, had no flavor, and wasn't even served hot. I had the jjajang udon, but was left wondering what I actually ate. The sauce was so watery and tasteless, almost like something from a chef boyardee can. They included some complimentary side dishes but even the kimchi wasn't tangy nor spicy. I was really hoping for some good, strong flavors that I know Korean food to have. In total this was ~$60 with tip. The serving size and taste was definitely not worth the price. I had high expectations after reading all the good reviews. But just got disappointed as the food is so average, and the menu is small. We ordered 4 different dishes and none stood out. Arario is way better. I will not recommend if just for the food. The service and the ambiance is very good though. read more

We had lunch on a snowy Sunday at Step. It wasn't busy at all with less than half of the tables taken at noon. The service was friendly and the decor modern and cute. We really liked the service station that was housed in a little cottage like alcove and the plants gave the space a cheerful vibe. To start we ordered a hot tea, Diet Coke and the Korean Fried Chicken with the soy/garlic sauce. The tea was just Lipton served hot in a glass. The fried chicken was deliciously crispy with a sweet and salty sauce. For our mains, we had the Spicy Pork and Beef Japchae. The pork dish had a 1 pepper rating (on a scale of 1-3) and it was pretty hot, but the pork was fatty and there wasn't a whole lot of flavor there. The Japchae glass noodles were cooked perfectly but the dish lacked flavor. It was as if I was eating nothing. The beef seemed steamed instead of stir fried. There was absolutely zero carmelization on the tiny amount of beef or the veg. It was as if they just tossed everything in a wok with only oil, let it steam, then put it on the plate. I ended up taking the entire thing home so I can add some sauce and spices myself when I eat it later. TLDR: Service: 5/5 Space and Decor: 5/5 Plate Presentation and Portion Size: 5/5 Food: 2/5 I prefer to eat at small local restaurants, and I think this place has promise, so I hope they either get a different chef or teach this one how to season properly. I'll go back and try something different to give it another try and, hopefully, upgrade my rating. read more

Loss a star for poor customer service. I found them on restaurant.com and had a certificate for $25 off of a $75 bill, but they said they could not accept it. They were trying to get off that listing. I understand they these listings contracts may hurt small businesses, so I let it go. We had a yummy, tasty meal, enjoyed even the kale kimchee, but after we paid $158 for a party of six. We received a coupon for 10% of next visit. That was just a slap in the face: they refuse my discount certificate, but chose not to compensate us with a 10% discount on this visit, when they clearly are able to do so without hurting their profit! Shame. Good meal, but needs work on how to keep customers happy. read more

We went there with a group of friends. We were excited to try out this new restaurant. I ordered the Korean braised beef and my husband ordered the bulgogi. Both were disappointing. The braised beef was so tough and chewy. Not fork tender at all. It needed a few more hours in the pressure cooker. The bulgogi was bland and pale. Not marinated enough. They were out of tofu soup and dessert. The excuse was that they are newly open. Not impressed by what they have. read more

My family and I went here earlier today. It was our 2nd time coming back. We were blown away by damn near everything you can think of. I told myself that I wouldn't forget our server's name, but I did. My bad. She knows who she is. ~3pm on this day as they were on their shift change, we were the only ones there for a solid 20 minutes. That doesn't mean you won't have a great time if you get someone else. Their whole staff kicks ass and deserves a raise! That warm and inviting joint is one we'll be coming back to for sure. If you're ever around the old black rock plaza off McCarran and pyramid, stop by and have a beef hot pot one time or their cheese tots with a side of their sauce or their potstickers, I can promise you that you'll be back. GO HERE! ITS DELICIOUS! Now full disclosure I am a white chic so take this review how you want but I am familiar with Korean food as I am married to a Korean I have certainly read a few reviews that complained this wasn't "authentic" Korean but I would argue that they describe themselves with "where tradition meets taste" which indicates that, sure, it's not really meant to be strictly Korean. Now that being said they have a lot of traditional style dishes and some that are maybe more "American" - the corn cheese tots are friggin delicious! Beyond that my husband and I had the fried chicken, I had stone pot bibimbap and he had the beef japchae. Chicken with the sweet and spicy sauce was delectable (they offered the sauce on the side in case it was too spicy but it was just the perfect amount of spice). Bibimbap was so wonderfully flavored and I got it with spicy pork, also just right. Husband loved his japchae and he gets that quite often at other spots we have tried and he said this one was the best! Now last but not least, they have the best sides! The kimchi was the best my husband had had (and he loves kimchi) and the kale and cucumber salads were so flavorful to me. Ok looong review I know but I had to talk about all of it! Also our server was great, super friendly and helpful! We will certainly be coming back to this spot! read more

We had such an incredible time trying this new restaurant in Sparks (corner of Pyramid and N. McCarran next to Raley's) last night. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was impeccable. Our server/the manager, Lydia, was engaging, knowledgeable and so friendly, actually sitting at the table with us for a while at our request.
