Our waitress walked over grabbed menus, walked back and set them on a table and just walked away. She got our order wrong twice. I ordered egg rolls and she brought out shrimp spring rolls. I asked for a plain chicken pho. Broth, chicken and rice noodles. The soup came out with onions and cilantro. We were trying to enjoy our soup and another employee sat behind us on his phone who kept hacking up his loogies. I immediately stopped eating and I lost my appetite. My husband ordered it to go order for me as I wasn't feeling good. Just a simple beef pho. The meat came rare along with the noodles and vegetables. The broth was piping hot. This was perfect because as soon as I put it all together, it was as if I was eating in the restaurant. The vegetables and fixings were all fresh. There was a large amount of food given in my ticket order. I even enjoy that they had sausages on the side, soup spoon on the side, and even chopsticks and fork! At first, I was a bit lost looking for this place because I couldn't see "Nam Van" On the sign. Glad I found it. This is comfort food at its finest. I can't wait to go back and try their pho! This has been our family's go-to but we will not come back anymore after a disappointing experience. We came at about 730pm on a Thursday night and got seated at a table. The lady asked us for our drinks like usual. Then, she started giving us the menu and after enough time for decisions, came back for our orders. We can sense that she's in a rush and we asked if we're still okay to dine in and she said yes. We were asking questions about what we would like to order and she is already confirming as though they were our final choices. After what seemed like 15-20mins, she kept coming back saying that we are ordering to go. We confirmed that we are dining in. Without even being discreet, we can see her arguing with someone in the kitchen. She kept asking us what we would like to do and we felt like it's such a waste if they already started cooking and it's too late to find another place to eat that late. She eventually came back saying they are closing, so we can either cancel or have our food to go. Or atleast that's what we were grasping at what she was saying, so we tried to repeat if we were understanding correctly what our options were, but she kept saying, "OK you want to cancel?" Or"ok you want food to go?" One of the young guys stepped in and tried to explain that there is a misunderstanding, that the kitchen is closing already so we shouldn't have been seated. Not once did the lady tell us they were closing until we were already waiting for our food!! We were so frustrated along with the insincere "sorry" and the dismissive help from the staff that we decided to just cancel our orders. We still ended up paying for the two drinks and left there vowing not to give them our business anymore. I had a wonderful dinner with my family. We ordered three delicious meals each bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The dining room was impeccably clean and well-organized, creating a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere. But it's not a great place for bigger parties with five or more people. The bathrooms were well-maintained which is always a plus. The service was exceptional and attentive and incredibly helpful, making our dining experience truly enjoyable. They also change the menu prices it now has a cash price and card price for each menu item and drinks. I think the difference was maybe $.25 or $.30 between the cash and card price. read more

We love the pho here and it's always been our go to spot but honestly the service has been really disappointing. Every time we come in to pick up our food the older woman at the counter is noticeably rude and seems irritated by even simple requests. It makes the whole experience uncomfortable especially when something as small as asking for hot sauce feels like a hassle. I have always seen this cafe and found that they sell pho and boba! If only I knew, I would have came and tried them earlier. The price of the actual drink is a lot cheaper than most places. The boba part is where it's more expensive than most places. I got the Hazelnut Milk Tea with boba. The hazelnut flavor is good. The boba is softer than I would like, but it is still good. We ordered the Pork and Shrimp spring roll. It came with a side of peanut sauce. The spring roll was delicious! Definitely recommend. The we got two bowls of pho with different meats. The broth is not as flavorful as I would like, but the noodles are good. It is not over or undercooked. The well-done brisket was sliced too think and too chewy. However, the other meats were alright. The service was quick. The place looked clean. When you come in, you can just order boba because that is what a lot of people I saw came in for. This was my second time trying there Pho and it was just not good. I ordered shrimp and pork spring rolls and a small well done brisket pho. The spring rolls were not rolled correctly and just fell apart the peanut dipping sauce was watery and an off color as for the pho the well done brisket was dry and the broth tasted old. The basil was wilted and was served with lemon not lime. I will not go back. I'll just bite the bullet and go downtown for pho. read more

I've heard good things about this place but am rarely up in Sparks. I swung by to pick up some takeout after being in the area for a doctors appointment. It was hard to find at first because Apple Maps took me to the building next door instead. I was also looking for a sign that says Nam Van but all the signage says on the building is Noodle Cafe. I can't speak to the service since we just did takeout. The inside is on the smaller side, it's a dine-in restaurant but they also have bubble tea that you can order at the counter. They had my order ready promptly when I arrived about 10-15 mins after I called to place the order. My husband got chicken pad Thai and I got the wonton pho soup! We both really liked our dishes. Affordable, flavorful, large portion sizes. My husband got medium spice level with some additional spicy chili sauce on the side. He ended up using all of the extra sauce because he said it needed more spice. It was not his favorite pad Thai he has had recently but it's up there on his list! I liked that my soup came with at least 5-6 wontons plus chicken and pork. I wish this place was closer to NW Reno where we live because I could see us coming back fairly often for takeout in the future! read more

Im not a fan of noodles but both kids refused to touch them and barely ate their meals. They typically love noodles but if they don't eat, that's a problem. We wrapped it to go and it sat in the fridge for another two days and I pitched it. I had sesame chicken, one had orange chicken and one had the orange pork the meat quality was poor. We typically go here for the boba drinks. They have the best boba drinks in town. The avocado smoothie is made with real avocado. It has great flavors! We ordered the pho and pad thai. The pho didn't have much flavor, but it had a lot of meat and noodles. The pad thai was really good. They used different type of noodles and they also give you a good amount of meat. The average price is between $9-$14 dollars per meal. You get a good amount of food for the price. The service was really good and the staff was very friendly! This is our go-to place for any type of noodle cravings. We love their pho! My husband loves their chicken pho and wor wonton soup. I love their vegetarian pho (best vegetarian pho compared to other pho places in Reno). A small size pho is actually big enough for a meal. They also make delicious pad thai, chow mein, and chow fun. Their egg fried rice is simple yet delicious. Their fried tofu and fried chicken are crispy and delicious. I also love their milk tea (I don't get boba here though because I'm more picky about the boba quality but the milk tea by itself is solid). On top of delicious food, the price is very reasonable. Friendly staff, great oriental options from Vietnamese and Chinese options. We ordered the combination pho, and chicken pho, while our in-laws ordered the orange pork dinner special, and a beef broccoli. Every time we order from them, they're friendly, they quote you times for your meals that are just about accurate to the time and they give you great portion sizes! Their spring rolls are delicious and for a Sparks restaurant we're happy we don't have to travel far for good food. Only thing I would give them a 4.5 if Yelp would let me because I just wish the Pho broth would have a little more flavor to it. However, they give you sauces you can add in there like sriracha, hoisin, and other sauces. However, I'm happy with the overall quality and the good portions they give! Thank you!! Arrived just after 4pm (just opened) and they had several customers with most being take out orders. The place is clean, workers were polite but service was a bit slow. The reason for the 4 stars is the slow service and the curry fried rice that I ordered used Indian curry and it was very dry. There is a difference between Indian and Asian curry and this is the first time I've been to an Asian restaurant that uses Indian curry. I hope the business reads this review and makes changes to their curry. I know I won't be ordering this again. I also ordered a pork dish with tofu and this was good. The pork was lean, tasty and served with fish sauce. Portion size was average for the price paid. There are several menu items that I am looking forward to trying. read more

There is no better place to get pho in Sparks. It's excellent every time and the service is great. I come here at least once a week for 2 small chicken pho with rice noodles for me and my adult daughter and it is perfect every time. We have been exploring the drinks menu for years, and have settled on pina colada snow and Thai tea (both with no boba) as our favorites. We ordered a nice steaming bowl of broth, with noodles, chicken, pork stuffed wonton dumplings, and veggies. It came with 4 eggrolls, and a plate of veggies. Wow, lots of food and great service. I am teetering between 3 and 4 stars, so, in a rare event, and since I am the Duke of this place, I'll throw in the extra star to make it 4. I've been here twice. The first time I came it was insanely busy and they are so understaffed, but the guy waiting on us was busting his ass to take care of the dining room that was at capacity. We actually had to wait for about 10 or 15 minutes to get a table. But our server was great and apologetic. Just went again today. It was probably about 30% capacity which was nice because we got a table right off the bat. Had a really nice server again, some woman, I just wish that people would start taking these stupid masks off because they're irritating and 100% ineffective. So I've ordered spring rolls twice. I don't remember them the first time, but I remember them today, and they're okay. It was the pork and shrimp spring rolls. Good size, rolled a little loose, and the peanut sauce is less viscous than other places, but again, it was okay. After years of eating at probably 40 to 50+ phò places around the country, I believe today is a very first day I only ordered a small bowl. I typically always get the deluxe, but didn't want to gorge myself so I just ordered the small tripe and tendon phò. My boy had the rare steak. So the deluxe, the first time I had was pretty good that I can remember. But this time, I don't know if they have a different cook today, but the broth was super super good. The tendon was absolutely perfect, and the tripe was excellent. One thing that bums me out, as you can talk for my picture, is that they only have hoisin sauce, soy sauce, and sriracha. No chili oil, no chili paste, and no fish sauce. Those are super important at least to me when I go to a phò spot. There's another restaurant I want to try, but have never been opened every time I've gone there, but this place is always decent and always a surefire that I'm going to get something delicious, with great service. My son also got the boba ice that has those little boba balls that pop in your mouth. Not really my thing, but I tried a little bit of his and it was okay, but they do have a pretty extensive boba drink methodology and menu. I'd recommend this place, even for just a quick drop in lunch. And if I'm ever shopping around and super hungry, I'll be back. read more
