I can eat this everyday! There were new young staff and i was expecting service would be different but it was still the best service. Place is clean and job well done, craving satisfied!

went there a second time to try other foods ordered the shrimp pork spring rolls, brisket pho, and beef shrimp rice dish all were ok, nothing spectacular, quick and cheap Vietnamese food peanut sauce, had less of a peanut flavor, and a but runny brisket pho broth lacked flavor beef shrimp rice dish, beef was thinly sliced, and there were only 3 small pieces of shrimp

Noodle Cafe in Sparks is a hidden treasure. It has fantastic Pho, great broth, and lots of healthy choices. Thank you to Eli for excellent service, Tony and Tan for asking if we would like more broth for our Pho. Yes please! Nice atmosphere, great food, fair prices. Loved it. Julie A

At first, I was a bit lost looking for this place because I couldn't see "Nam Van" On the sign. Glad I found it. This is comfort food at its finest. I can't wait to go back and try their pho! We ordered to go. The staff was very nice and generous with their sauce packets and made sure we had everything we needed. The place looked very clean and organized as well. We got fried rice, shrimp chow mein & shrimp spring rolls. Everything was amazing and so flavorful. E will be coming back soon!(:

I've heard good things about this place but am rarely up in Sparks. I swung by to pick up some takeout after being in the area for a doctors appointment. It was hard to find at first because Apple Maps took me to the building next door instead. I was also looking for a sign that says Nam Van but all the signage says on the building is Noodle Cafe. I can't speak to the service since we just did takeout. The inside is on the smaller side, it's a dine-in restaurant but they also have bubble tea that you can order at the counter. They had my order ready promptly when I arrived about 10-15 mins after I called to place the order. My husband got chicken pad Thai and I got the wonton pho soup! We both really liked our dishes. Affordable, flavorful, large portion sizes. My husband got medium spice level with some additional spicy chili sauce on the side. He ended up using all of the extra sauce because he said it needed more spice. It was not his favorite pad Thai he has had recently but it's up there on his list! I liked that my soup came with at least 5-6 wontons plus chicken and pork. I wish this place was closer to NW Reno where we live because I could see us coming back fairly often for takeout in the future!

I have always seen this cafe and found that they sell pho and boba! If only I knew, I would have came and tried them earlier. The price of the actual drink is a lot cheaper than most places. The boba part is where it's more expensive than most places. I got the Hazelnut Milk Tea with boba. The hazelnut flavor is good. The boba is softer than I would like, but it is still good. We ordered the Pork and Shrimp spring roll. It came with a side of peanut sauce. The spring roll was delicious! Definitely recommend. The we got two bowls of pho with different meats. The broth is not as flavorful as I would like, but the noodles are good. It is not over or undercooked. The well-done brisket was sliced too think and too chewy. However, the other meats were alright. The service was quick. The place looked clean. When you come in, you can just order boba because that is what a lot of people I saw came in for. If you want to sit down for food, they let you pick wherever you want to sit. I would come back especially because it is so close to where I live.

Service was quick and food was fresh. The amount of rice noodle to fresh veggies (cucumber, lettuce, bean sprouts) was a bit overwhelming but the really odd part was it looked like someone made rice noodles and then cut them to be the size of rice??? Doesn't change the taste of dish but was not what I was expecting or wanting.

First time actually eating inside the restaurant. We always get it to go. Our favorites are the spring roles, bbq pork and rice and won ton soup. It was nice to eat there for once. The server was so friendly and very quick. Our food as delicious. I also ordered some food to go and they kept it hot until I was ready to leave. There are only about 10 or so tables inside but plenty of room for larger parties.

I pass by this noodle place anytime I go shopping on Los Altos. Their customer service is good 4/5. They have plenty of seating. Their parking is convenient. The food is tasty! The flame broiled pork was delicious. The crab rangoons had a nice amount of filling and also had a very nice crisp to it. I would definitely come back again.

The sesame chicken was sweet and tasty, and the fried rice was amazing, with large chunks of chicken and char su that perfectly balanced the sweetness of the chicken. It's been about 4 years since the last time, I tried the food here and since I was hosting about 10 people at my home, I wanted to serve something simple and cost effective. My goto for this is Chinese food. I ordered chicken chow mein and stir fried mixed vegetables. It came in two trays and enough from probably closer to 15 people. So portions were good but the total bill was between $120-$130 about what I've come to expect here in Reno. Let's just say, I've traveled to several countries in Asia and lived most of my life in Northern CA eating quite a bit of Chinese food. This doesn't make my an expert but it would be fair to say, I am quite familiar with what is considered mainstream traditional Chinese cooking. But let's get to the food, with the caveat that I realize that everyone's preferences can vary widely when it comes to food. So my opinion is based on what one would find in Hong Kong and San Francisco. The chicken chow mein had all the correct ingredients, long noodles that were slightly thicker than say spaghetti, had the correct amount of softness without being mushy. Chicken was presented in slices and appeared to be white meat, there was some white onions thrown in there for some texture and flavor. Normally when I order chow mein, it isn't served with a brown "gravy". Not that this dish was swimming in it, but think of spaghetti with tomato sauce. Replace the red with medium dark brown and you get the picture. Now my guests who are Reno locals, thought it was great and flavorful. I would agree with the flavor part but it was much too saucy for my tastes. Would I try Chin Chin again for noodles? I'm not sure but the owner did state, they can make dishes any way I like, so perhaps I'll order off menu next time. The stir fried mixed vegetables is where I was most disappointed. Let's start with the ingredients. All were sliced in 2-3 inch pieces, which included button mushrooms, zuchinni, bamboo shoots, brocolli, carrots, and onions. This dish could have passed for a savory vegetable stew. There was a lot of gravy, so much so, that it colored all the vegetables brown, except for the carrots. The sauce had a slight "twang" to it, almost vinegar or worchester-like. Not my thing, I could not taste the individual flavors of the vegetables because of how heavy the sauce was. The brocolli was over cooked where the flowerette parts were pale. I prefer my vegetables to be just cooked, almost snappy. I would not order this dish again. No comments on the restaurant itself as both times I tried it, was for take out. So bottomline, would I try Chin Chin again? Yes but I will be very specific on how I would like my order prepared. Maybe for their lunch special.

Traditional Vietnamese or Chinese cuisine IMO, is difficult to find here compared to the Bay Area. But that's not the fault of Reno, it's just the number of asian restaurants are so much fewer here and all the produce is literally imported. My goto when checking out a chinese restaurant is their chow fun noodles. Why? The noodles are perishable and if frozen the texture becomes a bit mushy, not firm. Was the noodle fresh, yes but with the cavet that it was probably imported day or two earlier. There are no local noodle makers in Reno. The dish was prepared in traditionally with a slight twist. Garlic, lots of minced garlic. Not complaining, as this is unusual for chow fun noodles to get amost a fourth of a garlic bulb worth. I ordered the mixed protein version with chicken, pork, and beef. There was a slight sweetness to the dish, which I am atributing it to sugar. Which again is unusual but a welcome addition like the garlic. The filling was a little bit sweet, and a little bit savory, and the shell was well fried, crispy, and not oily at all. They were offering a BOGO on the combination plate, and so that's what I went for. I had the garlic chicken, and the chicken with seasonal. Veggies. On both dishes, the chicken was moist and tender. The veggies were done well. Just the right consistency, not mushy at all. The taste was great. The only thing I could say, was, the garlic chicken was a bit spicy. About medium on what I like for spice, you could definitely see the red pepper flakes on that food. Unfortunately, nowhere in the menu did it mention the spicy part of it. I did like it, and the spice was within what I like, but I think the next time I would order something else. The fried rice was very well done with a good flavor also. It was just the rice. It had no egg or veggies in it. I had enough for two meals on the first combo, and the second one went into my portable cooler, and is going home to Sacramento with me. For all I got, the price was extremely reasonable, even if I would've gotten only one combination. Thank you very much.
