This time, they have classes it up and it is an attractive place to hang out. They have top-shelf glassware, interesting and satiating cheese plates, and put on a Blind Wine Tasting that was enlightening, educational, and enjoyable! The owners are very knowledgeable and eager to impart their wisdom in a non-threatening and collegial manner that invites further discussion and questions and made for an equally interesting experience for wine knowledgeable and wine novice alike. It's also very convenient to get to because it's only 2 minutes and less than a mile away from downtown Healdsburg. I love that everything you can imagine is here in one location. You can walk around to the different wine tasting rooms and enjoy a glass of wine or enjoy a wine flight. The ambiance is warm and welcoming and they have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Each tasting room has plenty of seating and they also have a large communal space in the middle of Bacchus Landing so you have lots of options! This is an excellent place to come and sip and relax with enjoy good company and amazing wines! There are 7 wineries at Bacchus Landing: Smith Story Wines, Comstock, Aldina Vineyards, Convene by Don Kosta, Solo Nuestro Wines, Dot Wines, and Westside Sparkling. We have only tasted at Smith Story Wines and Convene Wines so far. We personally love Pinot Noir and have also been loving white wines more as well! We absolutely love the wines at Smith Story Wines. Their Pinot Noir is incredible as were all the wines we tasted here! We can't say enough great things about Smith Story Wines! They are a local family owned winery and each vineyard that they work with is also owned by families. I personally love when I see local family owned businesses supporting other local families! The hospitality here is amazing and they make you never want to leave! All the wines we tried here we absolutely loved! They really have it all: amazing wine, a heartwarming story, and amazing hospitality! We also enjoyed the Pinot Noir at Convene Wines. They served their sparkling brut Rose and plenty of Pinot Noir, all from Sonoma County, Sonoma Coastal, & Petaluma Gap appellation. One that stood out to us was the 2022 Dragons Back Pinot Noir. A classic tasty Pinot. They went all out and offered tasty bites that really enhanced their wines. They used to be in Healdsburg at Bacchus Landing a much larger location but not centrally located so moving to historical downtown Petaluma gives them an opportunity to attract a larger audience especially since their wines are sourced from the cooler Sonoma county region. What a fine job of remodeling the tasting room. I don't know how they did it but somehow the place seems wider and larger than the previous tasting room at this location. They opened the back with some large gathering tables and their vast selection of records is housed in the back as well. They added some small tables throughout the space. It's easy to maneuver. They also allow guests to bring food inside, so you can sip, sit, nosh & listen to some tunes. There are plenty of eateries around so it's any easy stop. As I write this review I'm reminiscing how well their Sparkling Brut Rose and Dragons Back Pinot Noir went so well with a prosciutto sandwich they offered at their grand opening. A great match, and good representation of Sonoma Coast, Petaluma Gap wines.
