The absolute worst service and everything they told me about my gps/stereo was a lie. No one at this facility knew how the unit worked. They told me to go home and read the owners manual. I really was happy to be able to work with Victor on getting my car all in tune. For years I have been going to a one man shop, and was going back for work every couple of months. I could never find out why. I went to Victor to just get a quote on getting a custom box built for my 15" Rockford Fosgate T1. I needed a box that fit better inside my trunk, because the box I had was too big, and did not sound very good. I went for a quote and got it all measured. Victor and his crew walked me through a few options, and they were very informative about what they were measure for and what kind of sound I would get. I chose to go with the medium sized box with a port, and it was cheaper then any other shop around. The box is perfect. It fits absolutely snug in my trunk, and the sound difference is incredible. They found out my wiring was wrong and I had a bad ground, which always gave me bad feedback. I was informed about all this, and told them to go ahead and re-wire what was needed. They got it done in just a couple hours, and tuned my amp up perfectly. My new box brings incredible sound out of my sub, and now it is actually tuned right. My sub no longer drowns out my front speakers, ever. For less than half the price of other shops, I got all my stuff professionally done with the highest quality wires. I am very happy, and am looking forward to doing business with Victor and his team from now on. I would definitely recommend going by here, you will like what they do for you. read more

I had gotten a amplifier installed here, I purchased the kit from them, they installed it and everythin was good until I removed my backseat the bottom portion, I saw the brand new wires they installed were cut and sliced. This is a long overdue review so this was approximately four months ago. I came to get a touch screen stereo installed. When it was done they gave me the keys and I went to my car and the speakers were not working right so I told them and they fixed the problem that was the only good thing on their part but I noticed some wires sticking out and some loose panels and it was just a sloppy job and a day later my dad notices the lever to open the hood was missing all that you where able to see was a hole were the lever was suppose to be so my dad with great anger told me to drive where I got the head unit installed and when we got there he demanded them to fix what they did and let me tell you one of the workers doesn't know how to act properly to angry customers he argues with my dad to the point were the manager tells him to back up anyways they said they didn't touch it and some guy comes and my dad tells him what happened he took off the panel like nothing I kid you not and the lever was there tangled in wires and he put it back in place and they said they didn't touch it.. bad service and sloppy work at stereo 1 read more

Well, I I hit these guys up to do an installation on my car. Being that I had already previously paid them to do a car stereo, which set me back $1,500 , I figured that it would be okay. Except for this time, I bought the parts on Amazon and spent a total $400. They quoted me $190 to install everything. I also had purchased a car alarm to be installed. First off, they did not install the alarm! Then, they had the nerve to get all disclaimatory on me saying that it was not on the work order. If anything, they should have AT LEAST said something to me and let me decide for myself whether I wanted to fork over some extra money to get the car alarm installed. But by the time they were done doing the work, it was too late in the day to have the alarm installed as well. This REALLY left a bad taste in my mouth. Then, less than two days later , the driver side window in my car shattered. It really pissed me off when I took it to a window place and they told me that it was most likely knocked off of the frame from whoever installed the speakers. Then , the car would not even start. Just now the mechanic who I go to, who's a guy that I've been dealing with for years and is one of the most reputable mechanics in Thousand Oaks , said that the installation of the stereo and the amp is what messed up the electrical system which is why the car is having issues starting. It is going to cost me about $350 to get this stuff fixed. Now I saved about $100 going to stereo1 however if I end up spending $350 just to get fixed things that they messed up in the process , but I didn't save anything. In fact, I lost a bunch of money in this process!!!!.... And I will not tolerate it actually. I'm going to contact them and give them one opportunity to make this right, after that, I'm just going to file a small claims suit in court. I already have two reputable mechanics (one of whom did a complete diagnostic check on my car less than 48 hours before I took it to stereo1) who are willing to say that these things were highly likely to have been caused by these idiots who installed the stereo in my car. Very upset right now. Normally, I don't even take the time to write a review unless it is extraordinarily good or extraordinary bad. I would consider this extraordinary bad. I can't believe this shop is horribly bad. My husband took my car in to get a stereo installed. When he arrived home I noticed they had cracked my middle dashboard and vents. They tried to hide the cracks by glueing them together. I was so furious that I had called them right away. Spoke with Brian who which is the manager. He kept saying to me that my car is old. Which isn't that old. It's a 2006 Nissan Altima special addition. It's not that old. And I said do that makes it ok to crack my dashboard? So I filed a complaint with the BBB and my luck they have no affiliation with them. So I ended up getting a call back from the BBB saying for me to give Brian a call to see if we can work it out. I ended taking my car back showing Brian what they did. He stated we did that,we didn't do that. I said oh yes you did I have proof. Anyhow we went inside and Brian told a guy to call someone to see how much it's gonna cost. Of course that person was at lunch. I let a week go by and I haven't heard from Brian so I called him and he said that they found that piece but it was to discoloured. They are still looking. Well I let 3 more weeks go by and Brian still haven't called. I called back and Brian said they still were looking and I was very angry and said I'm not gonna wait until they find a piece and I asked him for the owners name and phone number he refused to give it to me and he hung up on me. So right now I'm still fighting with Brian. I want you people to know how they run there business. Not very professional. I'm asking if anybody that reads my comment can help me? read more

I did some browsing around for a navigation system in my new car, I was greeted and treated real well, until later. My navigation system was put in and works great, no problems. I also got the steering wheel controls to go with it, absolute nightmare. It stopped working the day after I left. I went back in so they can fix it, they did, and it stopped again that same day. Fast forward until 3 months later and Im still dealing with this issue. Ive been in and out of there LITERALLY 10 times after my initial visit. Still no fix, now im waiting on another part that they're "waiting" to be delivered 3 weeks later. Every time I go in now, im treated rudely, not like when they were when they were trying to get me to buy something. I'm waiting one more week and I'm just going to ask for a refund. I gave them many chances but after the 4th time going in I started becoming increasingly irritated, I was still friendly with them, until they started treating me like trash. I won't be going here ever again, go elsewhere, not just because they have it cheaper. Thinking of just cutting my losses since my experience has been so bad. Please, take my advice. Like the other review said, you're only treated well when you're there to buy something, definitely not after. read more

Bought a car alarm viper with control start so far the alarm isn't sensitive at all when I got it installed I was told that my truck will be completely protected unfortunately that was a lie up till now my truck has been hit and god knows what else but the two way on the alarm is garbage they claimed it was the best alarm they had in stock at that time I know that's a lie again I went this passed weekend and told them the problem I was having and they just tried to sell me another sensor if I knew that this was going to be a problem I would of gotten a cheaper alarm like someone mentioned to me that worked at the store anyways make sure you look into the stuff you are going to buy I paid for two alarms the one I got cost almost 600$ and like I said they only thing that works well is the remote start. Anyways that's my opinion of the shop I was told the alarm was going to be very good but it really is garbage remote start is ok tho :) I guess and the only thing they told me that if I buy some other sensor that it will then work like I want to too trying to make more money lol read more

The worst stereo installers ever seen the stereo store manger is one of those who talks when your trying to tell them what you want "oh I have been doing this for 20yrs crap" the system that I brought broke in less then 3 weeks! When I returned it ,come to find out that they didn't even install the stuff I wanted .when I told them to take it out and just give me my money back he tried to charge me for installation ,when their add says "free installation" say good by to a former 20yr customer ! read more

I had 2 12" subwoofers installed at Stereo 1 about 10 months ago. 2 days after paying almost $300 to get them installed with a new $70 stereo (which took 2 hours) I rearranged the position of the amp and the sub box because the position they were put in by the installer was extremely space inefficient and plain stupid. After doing that, the amp wouldn't power the left sub. I did a few hours worth of trouble shooting and determined that both subs still worked but the amp was malfunctioning. I figured I must have broken it, even after taking pictures of the wiring done by Stereo 1 and put everything back together exactly as it was. I never took my truck back because I didn't want to be charged more to have it fixed. Today, after having only 1 of 2 subs working for 10 months, I realized that the wiring done by Stereo 1, by a tech that I'd been told had been installing speakers for over 20 years, put the speaker output wires in the wrong slot on my 2 channel amp which resulted in a lesser power output to the second channel and therefor no output of my left subwoofer. Aside from that, a dial on my dash which had to be removed to install the stereo was chipped and now falls off my dash regularly, 2 screws were never reinstalled (1 in my dash and 1 on the floor board), the panel on the floor board which "covers" the wiring from the engine bay is missing a screw that can't be screwed in because the wires are too thick to fit under it and the installer did nothing to change that, the ground cable is barely long enough and it almost pulls out if it move the amp more from the horrible spot it was placed in by the installer, I was not given the extra copper cable from the wiring kit I purchased, there was no grommet or gasket placed in the fire wall to protect the positive cable and remote wire coming from the battery, and the fuse box under my hood is completely unsecured and is free to move about the engine bay. If you are seeking a quality installation that will look and feel great DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO STEREO 1. I never expected to be refund because I thought I had screwed up, but now I feel entitled to one. read more

I came in yesterday because my car radio wasn't turning on after getting some work done/check-up's with my car. This has happened before, usually the radio just needs to be plugged out and plugged back in by a professional. I went in, was addressed immediately, and quickly got someone to assist me. Unfortunately my past technique did not work, radio still wouldn't turn on after re-plugging. The employee, who was very kind and patient, tested my radio and the cord modules. He said my radio was fine, but the main module was fried. The owner came by with the exact new module I'd need, but the price of it was steep and unexpected for me. The owner noticed i was a bit torn, and offered a lower price and no charge for the labor/installment. I took the deal and the employee showed me every step he took to installing the module and ensuring my radio worked again! Quick and exceptional experience, will definitely come back again for car needs and will highly recommend to others. Wish i had spare cash to tip the worker. read more
