Just completed upgrading my fire and earthquake insurance with State Farm. Changed from another company that seemed to be changing their company name and phone numbers often. Decided to go with a well known company with an office nearby. Got a lot more coverage--like doubled the amount of liability and half again as much for the loss value of the home for a smaller premium. Also the customer service by Linda was perfect. She gave a very clear explanation of the policy and all my options. Also I didn't have at hand some of the info required. When I texted or emailed it in, I got an immediate reply. I've been a client of Steve's for over 3 decades and have consistently been impressed with his and his team's knowledge, responsiveness, and overall great customer service. I have a number of policies with them (home, earthquake, auto, umbrella, long term care, etc.) and have always felt like they've got my back and genuinely have my interests at heart. They are warm and responsive whenever I call with a question or need and are great getting back to me when I've needed additional information or guidance. Steve has been so helpful in making sure that our household is fully insured. He offers complete information without trying to sell us a higher level of coverage than we want. When we purchased a new car this past week we didn't want to wait for an insurance card in the mail since we were taking a road trip. WARNING: You might be underinsured. Replacement coverage and constructions costs have gone up!!! Your agent might not be staying on top of this. Be careful. Steve Bauer has been my agent for many years. I have my car and home coverage with him. He has made sure I am properly covered. He even came to my home! My home has many custom features, which requires additional coverage. I recently spoke with two top builders in the area who praised Steve on his accuracy. They also said most people do not have the coverage they need to rebuild if they had a complete loss. I have had one claim on my home coverage and one claim on my car. The claims process was well handled, thorough and quickly resolved. Steve also saved me money on my car insurance too!!! I get a special discount because my yearly mileage is low. Steve is always accessible. He NEVER neglects my calls and always answers my questions. This is important to me. read more

Steve, Yolanda & Christopher are a customer friendly team. However, they cannot make up for the atrocious service provided by their company. The State Farm Claims Adjustment Department is wholly unresponsive and has kept my car in a repair shop (for a 5 day project) for nearly 3 weeks because of adjuster "scheduling". What good is a cheerful customer interaction if the underlying service delivery is poor? Suggest you look to other insurance carriers if you want competent service - I plan on doing so. read more
