Build your own bowl with Shoyu Ahi tuna

I came in to this location on Christmas day for some Poke The store had good distancing measures. And the staff were very friendly and helpful too! Like that they offer a variety of bases like quinoa, salad and rice The signs for Sauces and Toppings on the display case was also very helpful The poke bowls tasted fresh, I would recommend the Shoyu ahi tuna I would come back !

I ordered California poke bowl. Toppings were soggy and they added sauce. Finally, blow was very soggy. Too bad.

When you enter, you realize why, the entire place is extremely dark with very limited lighting. At first, it was hard to see, but after my eyes adjusted, it was a wildly decorated tiki bar. They even had frequent "thunderstorms." I sat at the bar because the tables were very limited. The bar staff seemed like they have been there a long time and were extremely helpful when navigating the large menu. The drinks were amazing and well crafted! The nachos were a huge portion, even for being the smaller choice. Everything was excellent, and it was a great experience!

The cocktails are generally on the sweeter side, but they're also surprisingly strong. We ordered the Zombie (3 oz), and there's a reason it's limited to two per guest. It tasted sweet and tropical, but it definitely sneaks up on you and can get you tipsy pretty quickly. The drink prices are quite reasonable, especially compared to the food. While the food is decent, I'd say the cocktails are the real highlight here. The atmosphere is fun, lively, and full of tropical vibes, come for the drinks and the atmosphere rather than the food.

There was still a bit of a wait when we got a table which was no problem since it was packed. We saw a lot of Filipino people there so we knew they had good stuff here. We ordered each a combo 1 plate of silog with 2 meats. I got the beef and spring rolls and it was DELICIOUS!! My partner also enjoyed his silog too (beef & pork jerky). The vinegar paired very well with the garlic rice and the meats were super flavourful. 10/10 would recommend.

Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. I happened to be in the neighborhood recently around noon and decided to try this place. Located on Ewen in Queensborough part of New West, it is not super convenient for people living outside this area. There is no other restaurants here except maybe Frankie G about half a km away. So it is a deliberate decision to dine here, not a "oh I passed by and decided to try" thing. Street parking is available. The neighborhood is pretty quiet. The menu is on the board. It is all about the silogs. They also sell Sans Rival cakes. I think only as a whole cake and not in slices. I don't see many cakes so probably it's for pre-order? I didn't know what to order as I rarely had silogs. I remembered my Filipino coworker raving about bangsilog (fried baby milkfish) and decided to get that. The fish was freshly fried. The eggs were done as requested (over easy)and served over garlic rice. The fish was nice but had many bones. I'll skip that in future. The garlic rice was so good. Their in house hot sauce was phenomenal. Spicy and sour. The eggs were good too. The owner and other staff checked on me often to see if everything was fine. It is a very homely place. I noticed the owner (lady boss) asked a young couple if the food was alright when they were paying as she noticed it wasn't finished. She then suggested them to pack it away and got them a to go box. It had a whole motherly/auntie vibe. Many of the diners are Filipinos. That's how you know it's an authentic place. When I was laying, I noticed a basket of mini muffins. I just had to get one to try. Ube bytes (1-2 bites). At $5.95 for 6 minis, they are not cheap. They were so good! It was very sweet that I thought they added condensed milk. Nope it was sugar. Cream cheese was listed in the ingredients too. Perfect with unsweetened tea or coffee. Great place for Filipino breakfast and baked goods. I wish there is more baked stuff.

Every time I come here I try something new and I even hear they have a secret menu of drinks you can ask your server for. If I had to give one complaint- it is that this place is very busy. That being said, this is a must-try place in Vancouver.

We came in a little before 8 and there was no one there. I had to double check with the staff to make sure they were open. Lucky for us though since no one else was there we were able to get a table for a group of 9 right away. Our server Becca was awesome. She looked after us and made sure our drinks were always filled. We decided to get the punch bowl to share. I'm just going to say that we ended up ordering 3 of these bowls and I woke up the next morning with a Top 5 hangover. These tasted like juice and I just remember my glass never being empty. I also remember having a taste of their mojito, which was delicious. As the night went on the place began to fill up and by the time we left it was packed. A musician came in at some point in the evening and performed some island tunes, which added to the fun island tiki vibe. Overall, the Tiki Bar was a ton of fun and it was a Saturday well spent. I'm so happy that we could be part of their opening night. I'd love to come back to try some of their different cocktails soon.

Way back…read morebefore COVID was in existence, my coworkers and I would grab poke pretty frequently from Steve's Poké Bar for lunch at Lougheed. We all loved having this as a lunch option because it's, well, relatively more nutritious and clean than say, burgers or fried Vietnamese spring rolls. So, my bro and I decided to give the SFU location a try and waiting in steady anticipation for our custom poke bowls. The food came relatively quickly and the portions are still quite generous but...the sauce department was lacking. We both felt like there wasn't enough flavour to the poke, and the plain white rice was starting to overtake the delicious toppings. It was a bit different from my past experiences with the Lougheed location. Anyways, still got my poke fix, though I may lean towards trying Pokey Okey more next time haha

I made my own bowl, which is always a lot of fun. First time I've had quinoa as a base, but let's give it a go! I think I went for most of the items, except for the ones where you had to pay extra. The tuna I got was fresh, as were the other ingredients. I went wild on adding sauces at the end. I designed a great concoction. I didn't get a seat at 3pm on a Thursday, so I had to walk back to campus to eat it. A quick thing I learned the hard way, if you want quinoa, use a spoon. Overall, friendliest staff I've met on campus, delicious choices, and quick service.
