Wait time to see the dr is ridiculous . Waited an hour and still haven't been seen. Staff is non efficient. Time to look for a new Dr!

I called in stressed out about my situation visiting urgent care and the ER with kidney stones and infections. Getting nowhere and running in circles. The staff got me in to see Dr. Barag the same day! While explaining the situation to Dr. Barag he says, "why didn't you call me?!" I was beyond grateful and immediately put to ease! He is very straight forward and solution driven to get you to other specialists and really encourages getting multiple opinions. I was grateful for his care and recommendations. read more

I have been a patient here since 2013. Dr Barag is not the issue. I think he is a pretty neat Dr. However, his office staff is another story. They screen the calls and tell patients "we can't help you" before the Dr even is seen for an issue. They cut you off on the phone, have zero phone skills or manners. They say they will call back and they do not. I referred my adult daughter to this office because I do think Dr Barag is one of the best, but she has not once had a good experience since becoming an adult. She is now looking for a new Dr because of the rude and unprofessional office staff. I think I will be doing the same. This is not true health care. Sad times. read more

Upon my first visit, I learned that this guy makes you feel at ease. His explanations of becoming a senior and the steps and processes that patients need to follow to have good health were remarkable, direct, and very easy to understand. My husband had this Dr for about twenty yrs I thought he was good but a little full of himself so my story is when a persons enzymes are high I think Dr s should have the common sense to have them see a liver specialist and because no specialist was seen my husband died within 2wks and I even asked other drs about a specialist and they were in awe after they heard my husband never saw specialist for his liver instead of telling a patient that was the way their made to have high enzymes and I found out this from my neighbors which really made me mad and then telling his wife that she should be more pushy to her husband which is not a good thing to say to the wife some drs should go back to school for bedside manners. read more

Wow this place has TERRIBLE customer service. I get it's probably not their priority to deliver at least " ok" customer service. I had this appointment scheduled for a couple of weeks now. I show up and the doctor left early. A phone call letting me know would have been appreciated. Nadine laughed at the fact that the medical student who saw me asked her to call Dr. Barag and have some questions answered. Nadine thought that my reason for the appointment wasn't good enough for a call to the doctor that was supposed to be there in the first. I've had some health concerns and they have been handled great. Dr Barag double checks all of the Med students and I honestly don't mind the students. It's like a 2nd opinion for free!!!!! My Family and I were with Dr Barag for 25+ years while we raised our family in Rancho Cucamonga. We were truly blessed by his patience, care, and compassion he showed us during those years. He prances around his office like he's GOD.I am so unimpressed by this guy.He actually prescribed medication to me and three months later when I thought I needed to refill my prescription,he stated that I should only be taking that medication periodically,however it states right on the bottle that I should be taking it daily....!!! I have to find a new doctor because there is no way in hell I will go back to that office and give them my hard earned money. I actually am new to the area and was looking for a new doctor. I liked that he's a DO as well. Unfortunately, I won't get to really know him because the office staff is incompetent and then instead of trying to make things better they gaslight you to make it seem like it was all your fault. My first visit I briefly met the doctor and he ordered every blood test for me. I hadn't heard back regarding my results so I called. April 15th last Monday, I get a call back about my lab and that the doctor needs to see me about my liver and vitamin D. But the receptionist says Dr. Barag isn't available till May or I can see a Nurse Practitioner next Monday which would be today, April 22nd. I set the appointment on my calendar and requested time off from work. I get to my appointment on time and I hear other patients in the lobby saying they have been waiting for over an hour. One person even rescheduled and left. The receptionist Genesis calls my name and tells me they don't have an appointment for me. That my appt is scheduled for May 20th!!!!! I told her no, that I specifically told the receptionist that called me last week that I didn't want to wait to May, that I was open to seeing an NP. She just repeats herself that my appt is for May 20th......I was very specific and gave details about when I scheduled my appointment. She asked who I talked to. It was probably her, but I didn't know I had to write down the name of the person who called me??? You would think she would empathize and apologize for the mistake, but no. Her only response was "you're appt is for May20th." I of course am furious after taking time off work that I won't get back, to come and speak to someone about important health issues!!!! I tell her I'm not leaving till I see someone. Meanwhile more people come in. Finally she says I'll have to wait till the end to be seen, EVEN THOUGH I HAD AN APPOINTMENT!!! Since they have already wasted my time I agree, but that I shouldn't have to pay a copay. She said I couldn't be seen unless I paid my copay. At that point I wasn't going to stay and continue to come into a place where not only do they not admit to their errors, but don't try and empathize with their patients. I have a PPO insurance so I can go anywhere. I was only there to review my lab work and not only did they mess up my appointment and not offer any resolutions till I got angry, but I'm supposed to pay to hear the NP interpret my lab results?!?!? (I would've have paid, had everything gone accordingly) Oh and when I asked when the next appointment available was to see an NP, guess what her response was, next Monday!!!! Just like I was told last Monday when I made today's appointment!!! I feel that they were behind and were trying to get rid of me and made it seem like it was MY mistake, rather their own mistake!! Genesis from the beginning could've just apologized for their error and offered me to come in the following Monday or the option to wait. Instead she just regurgitated, that my only appointment was May 20th over and over again.....I left with my lab results and luckily scheduled a back up appointment with another doctor, an MD. I have to wait 2 weeks, but after the way they handled THEIR mistake today, and the fact that I can't even see my lab results online....I can't go back. I had a bad feeling about this place the first time I walked in, and today just confirmed, this isn't where I want to go concerning my health. To whoever may read this one star, I had the worst experience today. I'll just talk about one reason why I came in, but essentially I had shoulder pain for two months. He didn't even give me an examination. He was only in the room for me for about 10 minutes and then left. I'm sorry but I can't recommend this doctor. I went to my friends doctor, took me as a walk in, and they found the issue with my rotator cuff in an instant. Something Steven Barag said wasn't the issue. I went in for a physical before grad school and the student doctor saw me, he was great! Addressed my other concerns. When Steven Barag came in, he first of all NEVER shut the door behind him, had one foot in and one foot out the whole time while getting my chief complaint which is HIPPA violation first of all and breach of patient confidentiality. People could hear me outside the door. Second, I explained how I wanted to switch my birth control because I was getting severe migraines every week and this was a new birth control, so I knew it was hormonal and triggering it/making it worse. I've had migraines since 2012 and Excedrin always helps if I take it soon enough. I told Barag this and he proceeded to roll his eyes, saying "and have you been ACTUALLY diagnosed with migraines before?" and I said yes, and my mom gets them as well. ((side note: I'm positive they're migraines, I also I have almost every risk/triggering factor possible (hormonal trigger, light, sound, not sleeping enough, sleeping too much, family history of migraines etc)) He LAUGHED in my face and walked out the door. I was stunned. I looked at the student doctor and he shrugged his shoulders. The lack of respect and privacy for his patients is appalling and I am never going back to this arrogant prick. The student doctor had more professionalism in his pinky finger than the 'doctor' did in the 5 seconds he saw me. read more

Ok so! 1st impression is always a good impression! I had 2 medical emergencies and i contacted Dr B's twice! Ok it's an emergency, I get it! But no call back or anything! 1st visit was exceptional but the follow through sucks!!! Slow down!!!!! I have known this Dr many years. When my children were young and single mom his kindness and compassion was only over inspiring by his knowledge. He always takes the time to help each and every patient.if it is something he doesn't know he does everything possible to find out for you. Dr Barag has been our doctor since 1989. I can say that neither my husband nor I would be here today if it wasn't for him. He has always taken an active role in our health issues and in our kids. We have had some pretty bad medical issues over the years and he has always been there for us making sure that we see the best specialists. Very disappointed with Dr. Barag. He saw my son a few weeks ago and was willing to write him a note for campus housing next year but when asked if he would fill out the form the school required, he said no. What's the point of the note if he isn't willing to fill out a simple form. This has added a lot more stress than my son needed. read more

Jeez Kevin C. get a personality. Dr. Barag is the best doctor I've ever had. He is a true kindred spirit. He always explains everything, has a great sense of humor, I truly love this man. He saved my husband's life. My husband just come in to review his blood test and Dr. Barag, asked him questions (yeah Kevin, he asks, he listens, duh) and gave him an EKG. He had had a heart attack and was basically a dead man walking. Dr. Barag made sure Jerry was seen THAT DAY by a cardiologist and by evening my husband was having surgery. He's doing great now. I really like Dr Barag. He's a happy happy man and will help you with anything. He will even try to assist you with things that other doctors feel are not huge priorities, but if it's something that's bothering you why not get it addressed. He knows his stuff and listens. He doesn't listen for very long so talk fast and have a list ready cause he'll leave the room to get something and then doesn't come back in, he'll have his staff get you your prescription or something but you might not be done asking him questions or have another Referal you needed.... So you kind of have to corner him. He's never trying to be rude he just thinks your done and his brain goes a mile a minute so he'll go look something up for you in his office assuming that's all you needed. This being said, I still go there cause he will help you he just has a short attention span! :). I also like that they'll do blood work right there on the spot and they have a pharmacy downstairs. Very convenient. Try dr Barag out. Most people I know love him. He's funny and warm and very knowledgable. He's not the type of doctor that pretends to know everything and gets agitated if you put your two sense in based on your self diagnosis.... Which is hard to find. Not that your self diagnosis is right, but some Drs will deny the issue is what you think as if it somehow hurts their pride that you might have any sort of medical knowledge available to you. If he isn't quite sure he'll research it with you there and figure it out. Most Drs have to feel they know everything and won't spend the time researching possibilities. Dr Barag has your best interest at heart. They have medical students sometimes training with him, this isn't my favorite if I'm going for something embarrassing as first I'm telling some young cute Med student my issue... But I'm sure you can tell them you prefer to only see the dr and I know they wouldn't have the Med student come in. read more

Dr. Barag is thee best doctor! Let me tell you, once you explain your issue(s), he does what it takes to get answers to your problem. If he doesn't have the answer, he finds a referral who does and that he highly recommends. We have been with Dr. Barag for close to 20 years, and will continue to see him for all of our medical needs. Our son is now 18 years old, and has since transferred over from Dr. Oyemade (pediatrician, yet another amazing doctor) to Dr. Barag. My son has been very sick with stomach issues, so we came to see Dr. Barag, and "boom" just like that, we were sent to a specialist (Dr. Hung, whom is amazing) and tests were done "stat", at the request of Dr. Barag. So, as of yesterday we now have answers and a solution to recovery and comfort for my son. I can't wait for our follow-up appointment with Dr. Barag to thank him from the bottom our grateful hearts. So, to wrap this up, if you are in need of a doctor, Dr. Barag is your man. I would also like to add a comment about the staff, whom are "amazing" as well. Dr. Barag is a nice Doctor and truly appears to want to help his patients. On July 12th, I asked Dr. Barag if he could help me with getting an accommodation at work because of my medical problems. He was very enthusiastic about it and said he could definitely help. I was originally told it would take 7-14 business days for the letter and I got from EEOC what would be needed on the letter. I have followed up every week and have been told that they are still working on it, but because of Hippa laws, they can't put the diagnosis. I asked them if I could sign something to give them permission and they said they would look into it. It's now been over 5 weeks and I'm still getting the run around. The last time I saw Dr. Barag, he said that it was unacceptable how long it was taking. When I spoke to the office this morning, I relayed this to them and she said, "Well, just to let you know, the Administrator is Dr. Barag's wife so I doubt he would have a big issue with this." I told her that because of how I felt, I would be finding a new Doctor. She said, that it would be okay and she'll let Dr Barag know. OMG! I feel duped by him and his office and don't feel like I was ever a valued patient. In my opinion, this is incredibly unprofessional! Because of how long this letter has taken, I've had to string my office along which is incredibly embarrassing to me. I had high hopes for Dr. Barag and was hoping he would end up being my new GP but, I don't think I can get past this. BTW...before Dr. Barag sees you, you have to sit through medical students asking you all types of questions. Some of them are good and others don't relay everything to Dr. Barag and you have to let him know everything again. The last medical student that wrote my prescriptions got the dosing wrong. (At least from how I've been dosed in the past). It honestly feels like they are happy that I'm leaving because now they won't have to write a letter of accommodation for me. Sad. read more

I stumbled on this guy and glad I did! He listens and doesn't rush you out of the office to see his next patient. The only downfall is you have to speak to a medical student before he comes in which for me I don't mind. As with most doctors there office is busy and sometimes of course you have to wait.
