I am about two months post-surgery and very pleased with the results. I had lower blepharoplasty and VASER liposculpting on my neck and chin area. Cons: The downtime was much longer than I excepted. My eyes were swollen for over three weeks. I didn't feel comfortable going to work for at least two weeks, and I didn't start to feel like myself until about six weeks. Also, the scar underneath my chin is bigger and darker than I thought it would be due to my hyper-pigmented skin. However, it isn't noticeable unless I show you. Pros: I have had bags under my eye since I was a teenager due to genetics (I get it from my mama), but now I look even younger than I did in my 20s and no longer hear that I look tired anymore. Also, I had always hated my side profile and was a little skeptical Vaser would work since the doctors I had seen before Dr. Varkony said I would need all this additional work like skin tightening and a chin implant. However, he did a great job, and I feel so confident about walking down the aisle in two months. Overall, I am very happy I went through the surgery and chose Dr. Varkony. Besides being happy with the results, he had the best and most affordable prices, and the location was very convenient. So I would highly recommend him for these procedures. read more

I went to Dr. VARKONY for a brachioplasty ( arm lift ) He told me he'd get rid of the crepey skin on my arms..not only is there no improvement, I can't raise my arms.He took too much skin out of my armpits. Dr. Steven J Varkony did an outstanding "hidden scar arm lift surgery" a little over a year and a half ago on my arms. I'm over the moon happy with the results! At the time of surgery at age 68 along with weight loss my upper under arm skin in my view had become an unsightly sag and resorted would never again want to wear short sleeves. Dr. Varkony improved my view by restoring and redefining my arms to their youthful, slender, petite appearance I thought were forever out of reach. It's incredible how his expertise and skill transformed my arms and self-image. The surgical incision scar was in the arm pit and now is no longer visible having faded completely away. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I had a BBL performed here 5 years ago and am still dealing with the trauma everyday. Pre surgery I was SLIGHTLY over weight but should have just dealt with my body because now i have permanent damage. My stomach and butt were the EXACT same size post surgery and post recovery. no dimensions on my body changed. OTHER THAN i now permanently have a horizontal belly button and skin that hangs over it so its not even visible when im standing. When I expressed my concerns with the doctor I was met with "let it heal. youll love it." Months of this for 0 AND I MEAN 0 result. Was also told post surgery I had to complete various tests for "the safety of the anesthesiologist". But this was AFTER the aurgery. When I declined to do the tests while I was recovering and I've never heard from their office since. Only posting to share so other people don't ruin their bodies. I now am stuck in a scarred, deformed body that I hate and can only repair with more surgery. To add icing on the cake, after my surgery I woke up screaming in pain and was told that I could not have any pain medication AFTER A MAJOR SURGERY because the nurse would have to stay past 9 to monitor me (my surgery got out at 8) and that the staff wasnt going to do that. The next day the "doctor" said he had no idea that I wasnt given pain meds. But at that point, there was nothing I could do to get on top of the pain. When telling mister varkony that I was suffering through pain for weeks, he upped my dose with no avail, but was then questioned about my intentions with the drug use. As soon as I saw my primary care physician, he instructed me to never visit this scam / sham doctor again and he helped me with the pain and scarring as much as possible. But still. Hi all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND Dr. Steven J. Varkony. Please go find him on YELP and you will see all the negative reviews that is not showing up here as people seem to post there and forget to post on Google. There are over a hundred negative reviews with very few positive ones, and based on my negative experiences aligning with those reviews I am inclined to believe them. Though, I personally didn't allow him to perform my surgery due to my experience, you will find a number of reviews on yelp from people who allowed him to perform work for them and they were not happy. Ok. So here is MY STORY/Experience with Dr. V. I will preface my story by saying that after my experience with Dr. V I went with another surgeon that I'd been building report with for other a year and got my Breast Reduction done. I am nearly a month post op and am IN LOVE with my results so far and am so glad I didn't chose Dr. V. I am merely writing this review in hopes to help someone else make a well rounded decision as they are looking for a Surgeon to do a huge procedure such as a BR. I initially met Dr. V after being told by another surgeon that he didn't feel comfortable performing my surgery, (You can find that experience in another review). After searching "nearby surgeons for BR" in Google I ran across Dr. V's office info and proceeded to scheduling a consultation for the next day. The consult went great initially but I wanted more time to weigh my options. Dr. V reached out and asked me to come into office to discuss more a week later. I had then ran across the reviews on yelp and expressed my hesitancy. Dr. V began being very defensive and raising his voice. I was so intimidated. He presented the forms insisting I sign and give him a chance but at that point I realized the reviews I had read were similar to my experience. He told me that I had to be photographed and when I expressed I didn't want my photos to be shown he demanded I sign the consent form to show them anyway stating that "how would other people be able to see his work if no one was willing to allow him to use their photos". I insisted that I leave the office for air to think and he told me that I didn't need to leave the office and that he'd step out and give me a couple minutes. It almost felt like he wouldn't allow me to leave. I was so scared that I called a friend and he was at the door listening to my conversation. He came in as I was on the phone and asked me what the problem was. I told him I needed to think. He then tells me to just sign the papers and pay the $2000 non refundable deposit and that the rest we could figure out later. I convinced him to allow me to leave the office and that I'd come back in 20mins once I got some air. Needless to say I never returned. I was so close to signing forms and putting down a deposit but He began pressuring me to sign yelling and talking down to me and my spirit did not feel right. I was afraid and overwhelmed. Once I left his office I scheduled with the surgeon I had built report with and got my procedure done the following week. Dr. V phoned me to follow up and when I told him I went with another surgeon but would keep him in mind for the future, he went off and started demanding me to tell him my new surgeons name. When I refused he went on to say that he was the best and performed more surgery's in the area. Lastly he said very sarcastically that he hopes my procedure turns out well and was very aggressive. I then thanked him and hung up. I tried to shorten this review as much as possible but you could imagine that there are lots of things left unsaid for time and energy's sake. Dr Varkony is pro, an expert in plastic surgery. I had previously talked to 2 different other surgeons but I did not like them that much. Then a friend of mine recommended Dr Varkony. I wanted to get an explant (removal of breast implants) and a lift. I had one boob that had gotten way bigger than the other one and it was hard like a rock. He sent me to do a mammogram and after it came back negative for cancer, I scheduled my surgery. Dr Varkony offers a free consultation and he takes the time to listen to you, look at you and he explains what your options are and what to expect before and after surgery. He won't rush you or be arrogant. I had my surgery on July 5th and after I went home I texted Dr Varkony on 3 different occasions (including Saturday & Sunday) to ask a question and he called me back within 30 seconds . He is always available for you when you need him. Regarding my new look I am very pleased. Dr Varkony managed to remove my implants without making me totally flat even though I am pretty skinny (95lbs) and the shape of my boobs is really nice. I researched reputable cosmetic surgeons online, and Dr. Varkony's name was on virtually every list. I had planned to have a mini-face lift and upper eyelid lift, as I had done in 2017. Dr. Varkony was very informative during the initial consultation, and also listened to what I had to say in terms of the results being sought. He and I were both on the same page as far as what I needed for a younger look, however, he also suggested the additional tightening of my neck, which he simulated during the consult to show me how it would look, and I thoroughly agreed. He assured me he would take optimal care of me and that my results would look great. Surgery took place March 27th, wherein all 3 procedures were done at once. He and his surgical team were amazing; I was sent home that evening and Dr. Varkony called me later that night to see how I was doing and to advise me what to do to try to feel better, post-surgery. My first follow-up appt was the very next day and I have had several more since then. I feel very taken care of by the doctor, he is very thorough in his post-surgery precautionary procedures, as well as explaning things most comprehensively and humoring me by answering my (many) questions. I'm just a week out of surgery as I type this, and I can already see very encouraging progress and results. Dr. Varkony is easily accessible by telephone, and is very prompt in replying to text messages and emails. STAY AWAY!!! This "Doctor" is rude, unprofessional, and overall a sleazy man. I bought a groupon for 1cc of Juvederm and boy did he go at it to ruin my lips!! The receptionist had me fill out some documents and then took me to a messy half put together room where I sat with numbing cream on for 20 minutes. The doctor poked his head in the room without even introducing himself and then said ill be with you after you're numb in 30 minutes. They wanted me to wait almost an hour?! Last time I had fillers they mixed the juvederm with Lidocaine AND I only waited 5 minutes tops for the numbing cream to numb me. When Varkony was ready for me he brought me into a different room, introduced himself, and told me to hold the mirror and didn't discuss ANYTHING with me. He didn't tell me about the filler I was about to get, the safety of it, where I wanted it injected, the look I was going for. I had to pull away from him before he injected it in the area I didn't want injected and told his I wanted the upper lip more pouty and that I liked my bottom lip and only wanted a tiny bit injected in it. He barely acknowledged what I had just told him and he jabbed the needle in with a lot of force. He continued to jab the needle in and it got to the point where he was so rough, I was a BLOODY mess! He had to stop because there was so much blood. Now i have had lip injections before and had never had that many injection sites across my lip and never had such a huge amount of bleeding. After the bleeding stopped he went at it again with the same force and once he was almost done with the syringe asked me if the two sides were even. They were not. He then finished the syringe in my lip and put NONE in the bottom!! Then he tried to sell me on a whole other syringe. He said "Oh well your'e out. That's it. Your'e going to have to buy a new one if you want some in your bottom lip.". He purposely did that to try and get more money out of me!! After all was said and done he rudely walked out and didn't give me and aftercare instructions or even have the courtesy to give me tissues for the road for my wrecked and bloody lips. He also asked me to put lip gloss on it to stop the bleeding. LIP GLOSS. I told him I didnt have any and he just shrugged his shoulders and left. I had severe bruising and swelling for over a week. I did cold compresses, icing, took a day off work, and nothing helped. Now two weeks after the injection, I had multiple LARGE lumps in my left lip and smaller lumps in my right lip. Going to get injections or surgery offer a second chance to those who aren't confident with how they look and Dr. Jarkony rips this second chance away. Spend the extra 200$ and get this done elsewhere the CORRECT way. This reflects not only his professionalism but his knowledge on how to properly inject and do procedures. The worst experience ever don't go here! I would give -10 to this man he is so rude angry impatient and doesn't listen to what you want!!! I found a Groupon for 40 units of Jeuveau and was delighted to find the deal. All I wanted was to lift my brows and iron out my little forehead I've been doing it for 10 years and always happy with the results. I made an appointment and went in to find him hunched over his secretary seething through his teeth interrogating her about an email she should have sent that morning. He didn't look anything like his picture. He looked very angry much older tired toxic with negative energy riddled into his body. I made a run for the door but his secretary kept trying to reassure me that he's not always like that .. that I would really get to love him .. I was not at all convinced so I put my hand on my heart made a prayer for the best and walked in .. yes I was desperate .. I had a shoot in a week and I needed to look fresh & didn't have time to look for someone else! I walked in and golly ~ I felt like if I ask any questions he was going to kick me out. He wouldn't listen to me & what I wanted. I don't like that raised brow look he kept saying seething through his teeth! Long story short he wouldn't listen to me and in the end convinced me that he was going to make me look great. I look like a 10 ton elephant sat on my face and can't freakin open my eyes!!! That's also after his scam: $300 for 40 units but the next 10 units will be an extra $150 like it or lump it. I walked out of there crying my eyes out .. I was skeptical to even write a review due to the awful replies this Doctor writes to anyone who has anything remotely negative to say(which is incredibly unprofessional and not the way to run a reputable business but I digress) but if I can save anyone from going here, I'll do it. My first visit here, from a Groupon, I waited over 30 minutes just to get back to have numbing smeared on my face. I sat in some random eyeglass office for another 45 minutes (I have proof if he tries to deny this), with the doctor popping in once to say he'd see me shortly. Once I finally got into his office he quickly pulled out his tools and was very condescending towards me. I explained how I was new to lip fillers, only having gotten them once, and he repeatedly joked that they "weren't his lips" and it was up to me. I received 1cc of juvederm ultra plus XC and let me tell you, I saw no difference whatsoever even with the swelling. I had hoped in my naivety that maybe the filler just needed to "settle". The whole ordeal was incredibly painful and he made several comments about how "it shouldn't hurt that bad" BUT THATS BECAUSE BY THE TIME HE FINALLY GOT AROUND TO ME THE NUMBING HAD WORN OFF ENTIRELY. I bled a lot and he quite rudely kept telling me not to touch my lips because he didn't want "blood all over his office" even as he asked me to hold a rough paper to them to reduce bruising and bleeding. He advised me to massage my lips which my previous doctor told me to never do because it could shift the filler to the wrong places. After all this he assured me that all the negative reviews on his Yelp were from younger girls that expected too and could I please leave him a good review. Lol ok. Needless to say I was very bruised for a whole week afterward and was left with a large lump which he said would dissolve on its own. The lump never dissolved and it's been 2 months since the procedure. Not a single person could tell I had gotten filler and my dermatologist joked that they looked even smaller than they did before. I returned to him today (after driving over an hour mind you) to ask about this lump and he offered to dissolve it but said it may leave my lips looking uneven. He also said he didn't notice it when it's clearly visible and told me the reason my filler didn't take (when it lasted 6-7 months from my previous doctor) was likely that my body just dissolved it due to a number of reasons, then made some weird analogy about strawberry allergies all while being condescending as hell. I asked if he could possibly add more filler (I know what was I thinking?) and he went on a long rant about how the duck lips look isn't cute and that why should I waste my money if I didn't like my initial results? All in all, I can't possibly have enough bad things to say about his demeanor and attitude towards Groupon customers. What he should know is that Groupon is designed so that you get new customers in with a good deal and if you do a good job, they return as full paying customers. What I have is called a filler cyst, and no, it is not "normal" 2 months post op. I'll go somewhere else to have it fixed. Update: his reply is an utter lie. He claims I demanded free lip filler-nope, I never even INSINUATED I get anything for free. I asked about getting more filler to achieve the results I wanted, and was willing to pay full price. As far as me crying? Utter, laughable bullshit. This man is a bully, and will go to great lengths to protect his name despite there being so many people who share the same experience as me. I didn't "demand" anything and the CYST is still there. Not a common side-effect at all. And my lips are still full and plump from the facility who administered juvederm the correct way, without diluting it, without being rough, and without being condescending. read more

I just had a thread lift by Dr. Varkony and am really happy with the results. Its natural to want to hear a 'magical' solution to a face/neck issue - but Dr. Varkony will not feed you a line of B.S. He will let you know exactly what you'll get and set your expectations. There are plenty of other doctors out there that will tell you what you want to hear. He's proud of his workmanship and knows what he's doing. He will not waste your time. Although Dr. V isn't particularly personable, and I had to wait quite awhile to get numbed after they couldn't find my appointment, I left feeling hopeful (and bruised; my lips have never ever bled like that during any procedure). They looked good. Alas within three weeks, once said bruising and accompanying swelling went down, they looked exactly like my old lips. The one syringe of Juvederm has been too much everywhere else, and I've typically split it into two visits. Theirs did basically nothing. The offered solution (they had honored the roughly $280 Groupon price) was to offer me an almost $500 return visit to get it done again. Not a chance. If I'm spending more money, I'm spending it somewhere I've gotten results in the past. So disappointed. read more

I didn't ask for his advice and he went of his way to tell me my entire face had wrinkles..which is absolutely not true. I was concerned yesterday because it seemed as though I didn't have the results but he assured me that I had to wait until next Monday or Tuesday to see the final results. We were then seen by doctor Varkony who introduced himself and went on to discussed our treatment. He began with my mom and proceeded with me. I found his approach profesional and skillful. His demeanor was approachable and his bedside manner impecable. He provided us with aftercare instructions and answered our questions. Lastly, Dr. Varkony took extra time from his schedule to consult on an unrelated cosmetic issue. He examined me and provided me with very helpful information and feedback. It was my very first time getting any work done. I've been thinking about getting lip fillers for almost a year and finally got the courage to do it. I went in very nervous anticipating what if I don't like it and all that... as soon as I sat in the chair, Steven asked me what I wanted. I told him I wanted lip fillers but wanted to still look masculine. He immediately told me it won't look masculine! Men don't put fillers in there lips! My nerves got even worse. He then told me I needed fillers in my frown lines and that it would make me look younger. I almost considered not doing what I've been thinking about for a year. I then decided, no do what you want and what makes you happy. I went ahead and got the lip enhancement. Prior to getting it he keeps referring to it as a woman procedure. Saying "you could get numbing but most women don't get it" " most women that get this use numbing" "some women do get numbing" the whole time I'm thinking I get it! You don't agree with a man getting lip injections! Noted got it sir! Stop referring to it as a WOMAN procedure! He seemed so arrogant and annoyed the whole time and at one point told me how he hasn't even taken a lunch yet in a completely hangry ( hungry anger) (if you don't get the gesture)manor. I asked him if he'd like to take a lunch I can wait. He then handed me a mirror and said where do you want it? I want so thrown thinking you're the plastic surgeon can I get some advice. I hesitated posting this on a public forum because I don't like putting my more personal stuff out there, but my experience was so good that I knew I had to give Dr. Varkony some love here. I have needed to have something corrected for a long time, and I've been so nervous about undergoing any procedures that I've put it off for years. I finally decided to check it out and after calling quite a few places I came for my consultation. What I liked right off the bat was that when I met with him, I explained the problem and mentioned to him that the person on the phone (at his office as well as several others I called) said I might need to have a more extensive procedure than I was comfortable with. He took a look and felt the structure of the area and said right away that he disagreed with the more extensive procedure and suggested I go for my initial inquiry plus a small bit of extra support. Any surgeon that tried to "downsell" instead of "upsell" gets my attention right away. The staff here is friendly and accommodating (I have the most obnoxious schedules), and make themselves available whenever you need them. Results: This is where I am ecstatic! My results were better than anticipated. Not only did he make the correction that I needed, but I have experienced very little bruising and after less than a week you can barely even see the incision sites! I can't wait to see how it looks as the long term swelling goes down and the last of the bruising dissipates. Looking at a few of these reviews, I think it's really important to keep in mind that Dr. Varkony is a surgeon, not a therapist. He's not there to be your new best friend- he's there to do a skillful job well. Surgeons are well-known for not having the best bedside manner, and really good surgeons generally try not to create chummy relationships with their patients on purpose; it helps them do a better job with more objectivity. Surgeons for oncology and other fields are the same way. With that said, I did find Dr. Varkony very friendly for a specialist, and I think if you go see him with reasonable expectations and good communication, there's no way you can come away disappointed. This was my second time getting Botox from Dr Varkony. I realize this is a business and they want to 'upsell', but when I explained I AM in fact in the market for future procedures, I was not ready at the time so he stopped asking and gave me brochures and info to read up on in the meantime. I appreciate that. I must say though as well, regardless of the harsh reality of aging, I appreciate his honesty when telling me I am more wrinkled than my 20 year old mind likes to think I am) I was very satisfied with my results both times (about 5 months in between) and will absolutely go back to him for the next round and will hopefully have saved enough to do the other procedures I want. My boobs are AWESOME! ... and it is all thanks to Dr. Varkony. I couldn't be more happy about my results (even if they were faker lol). They look and feel really natural. My scar is hidden and so minimal. They are perfectly placed, well balanced and very symmetrical. My husband loves them! Dr Varkony is amazing. He performed my first procedure about 15 yrs ago and I was so happy with the results. As soon as I walked in - he remembered me immediately! His Office manager, Vanessa is so friendly and she follows up quickly on my phone calls and texts. Dr. Varkony is very down to earth and takes the time to explain everything and was happy to answer all of my questions. He assured me everything would be fine and called me personally a few hours after surgery to see how I was doing. My experience with Dr. Varkony was pleasant. I went in for botox (40 units), and with it being my first time, I was extremely nervous. Dr. Varkony was welcoming, and took the time to explain what he was going to do, as well as what to expect. He didn't try to sell me anything further, but did clarify some things for me. The entire procedure was quick (and pretty painless), and I am SO EXCITED about my results. His time frame he gave for seeing the results was accurate, and I appreciated his honesty about what I needed and what I was going to see. In regards to the facility, it was clean, and I didn't feel like I was going to end up on an episode of "Botched". The receptionist I communicated with on the phone, and when I arrived were both kind and welcoming. I was able to get my appointment fast as well. I went to Dr. Varkony today to have him fix a botched and lumpy filler I had received elsewhere (in Thousand Oaks). I'll never go to that Thousand Oaks place again!!! People don't go to cheap places or places that aren't real experts because they're not doctors because you're taking a HUGE risk! You get what you pay for!! I'm so grateful to Dr. Varkony he smoothed away the dent (between lumpy filler) and fixed some other areas too. He always always does the best! I was really sad and depressed and didn't even want to take my mask off before I came to see him. I came to Dr. Varkony because he is a DOCTOR and I trust him. I had never gotten my lips enhanced before, so I was quite nervous, but the staff was very friendly, and Dr. Varkony was as well. He was quick and precise. I received 1 syringe of Juvederm ultra plus xc and am very pleased with my healed results. I had gotten them done back in December and my lips are still plump today and I am very happy. Excellent Dr. with great bedside manner! He took the time to explain everything. I received 1cc Juvaderm in my lips. He put the numbing cream on for about 35 mins., minimal pain. BOTCHED LIPS - After reading somewhat positive Yelp reviews I didn't hesitate to come to this doctor for lip fillers. I explained to the doctor how much filler I wanted and he was well cooperative. I had .5 injected in my top and bottom (because I wanted a natural look) and the rest of the .5 in my smile lines for a total of 1 syringe of Juvederm. As soon as I left the office on March 26th, I noticed my lips looked off. Two days later I noticed I developed a LIP FILLER CYST (google it) inside my lip causing it to look LOPSIDED! I thought it would go away once the swelling/bruising went down in a week but it didn't. I called back and asked for filler dissolver to dissolve the cyst and when I met with the doctor, he first pushed the cyst down (aggressively) as if it would be dissolved so easily. I tried massaging it down at home before going to the office and it didn't work. ALSO, it is not SAFE TO POP THEM at-home with a needle! You need a professional to dissolve it. Although they covered the dissolver cost and the staff was friendly, it was such a waste of time and money having to have my bottom lip dissolved. Not only that, but just today I noticed my top right lip looks more duckier than the left side which prompted me to write this review. I've gotten my lips done in Beverly Hills 12 months prior to this, and I loved my results. This doctor does not know how to perform lip filler on those who ask for natural lips. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. I feel bad writing this but it's only fair for others to know what they are getting themselves into. This is a well-deserved review. read more

The waiting area is clean, the front desk coordinator was friendly and prompt, and I was in a room in no time. However, Dr. Varcony was abrasive and not really interested in small talk and didn't have great bedside manner. It's like if he knew I had a Groupon and treated me accordingly. Moreover, my result was terrible. Worst ever! My forehead dropped and I couldn't raise my eyebrows at all. I looked angry and even more aged bc my upper face didn't move. His injections were rough and painful and he offered no numbing gel. I went back talk to him about my concerns and he was angry and told me "you have a great result, I don't know what you want".
