We love to go to Steven's in the late afternoon or early evening, when the staff has time to chat a little bit. It's like a big family and we are always welcome. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable for today. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to eat and relax. read more

We went to the restaurant for Saint Patricks Day evening dinner and had great time there! We enjoyed the staff and their professionalism and hospitality. A young man handled our table and when he had an accident with a large platter he was apologetic and friendly. The meal of course was corned beef and cabbage and it was plentiful, but the meat seemed to be a little undercooked. Otherwise the food was awesome and was topped off with a strawberry cheesecake, Yummy!! read more

We used to love this place but the last couple of times haven't been good. Not sure what happened but it seems to be going downhill with both food and service. Two times ago I ordered the fresh fish special and it was served to me completely raw. This last time we went on a Saturday night and sat at the bar (only about half full) and though when we first sat, we were immediately asked what we wanted to drink - after that the two bearded bartenders seemed more interested in socializing with the regulars. Both of our drinks were dry, and we had to raise our voices to get their attention. We then ordered another round and the bartender forgot to make it, so then we had to get their attention AGAIN and order it again. We ordered the tuna tartare and it took forever to arrive. When it did, it was terrible. The fish itself was kind of a light pink (not a deep pink color like you would expect) and it was loaded with tons of connective tissue and wasn't cut up correctly. It should be evenly diced but the pieces were kind of hacked up into all uneven sizes and multiple pieces were all connected together with the white, chewy connective tissue. We barely ate any of it and nobody even asked why. We wanted to get dessert, but it was so hard to get the attention of one of the bartenders we finally just gave up and waved one down for our check. At this point, we won't go back and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to a friend. read more

January 30, 2026, Friday evening, 6pm. Very noisy, but we were in the bar area. Pot roast, tender meat, no flavor. Filet sliders were fatty and flavorless. Service was excellent. Would not go back because of prices for subpar average food. Entertainment was great, lack of seating in stage area unless you sit at the bar all night. read more

Finally made it to Stevens Restaurant in Gurnee and it did not disappoint! We started with the crab tower and the crab brie soup! Both were amazing! We then had the Leslie Salmon and the bone in Ribeye for our entrées. Everything was simply fantastic, what made it even better was Dan, our server. Dan seems to genuinely love his job and it shows as he is great at it! Great night out in Gurnee! An absolute must stop if you are ever anywhere near Six Flags! Also, I worked in fine dining for eight years and was once told, the cleanliness of the bathroom is a direct reflection on how clean the kitchen will be. Bathrooms were spotless and classy too. I know, the last thing is kind is weird but really and oddly accurate. read more

I returned here after a long absence for a "business" dinner lecture. The banquet room was used and set up comfortably for such. It was hot outside, but cool inside, so bring a fleece or sweater if you're thin skinned like me. I've always enjoyed coming here and one reason is their extensive drinks list and offerings. The food is pretty darn good also. Wife had their delicious salmon entree and a Krombacher pilsner. I had their also delicious bone-in double cut pork chop and a Garrison Brothers single barrel bourbon. I later also had a Wisconsin old-fashioned. Yum to all of that. They seem like the only busy business in their big strip mall and there is always plenty of parking. But business is good for them and they were pretty filled up at both their bar and main dining room on a Tuesday evening, so kudos to them. It probably doesn't hurt that Six Flags Great America is only like 1/2 mile away but none of the patrons here looked like roller coaster riders, so whatever lol. read more

This place is AMAZING!!! I had beef wellington. The pastry was cooked to perfection. The duxelle was so flavorful and the .eat was cooked perfectly. It was so tender and delicious!!! My stepson had the bone in ribeye. He ate the entire 20 oz steak as it was so good. His fiance had the seared ahi dinner and said it was the best she has ever had. Pur server was excellent.... always available whenever we needed anything but not hovering to annoyance... truly am art!! I wish they had a location in Southern California. Definitely want to go again when I'm back in Chicago. read more

This is a lovely restaurant, very reminiscent of supper clubs, with wood accents and linen tablecloths. Seating is in booths, banquettes, and at tables. Our server, a delightful person named Nadon, helped us every step of the way, and we felt very wecomed. Came here with a couple of friends and everything was so delicious. Price was fair for a steakhouse. Order the steven's sampler and we got calamari, buffalo cauliflower, and tuna tartar. I also order the salmon with mashed potatoes. So delicious. Would definitely come back! read more

Had dinner with family last night. We did not have to wait long for service, food arrived quickly and was good. The staff made sure our table was not cluttered with unused dishes by collecting them promptly. However we noticed that no one said excuse me when reaching over our food, interrupting our conversation, to remove dishes from our table. The server reached over my husband's food to take his glass to bring a refill (unrequested) without saying "excuse me". We decided the food was good, ambiance was good but staff manners were lacking. read more

Celebrating my 79th birthday with a group of friends. We enjoyed the party room and the service was outstanding. The meal selections where greatly enjoyed, and with our arrival time of 4:00 PM we beat the crowd. I had the Teriyaki Salmon special and it was amazing that I almost wanted to make a second order. This is about the sixth time I've been to Stevens and each visits has been an extreme pleasure. Both the group and myself are looking forward to attending another of our events at Stevens. read more

We stopped here for an excellent dinner after our sailor graduated to celebrate. Easy to make a reservation for a sizable party and the food came out together and was excellent. Our party enjoyed the lobster Mac and cheese, whisky ribs, pork chops, lamb chops, salmon and sirloin steak. Everything was seasoned well and everything but the steak was cooked to perfection. Steak had a hard sear which my son didn't enjoy. Excellent service keeping drinks filled and even gave our sailor a complimentary dessert! Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

The steaks are always top-notch at Steven's steakhouse. More of an adult atmosphere please don't bring your children here and ruin it for everybody. They have a large party room business parties etc. Waiters are very knowledgeable about their menu. The ribs are outstanding as is most of the dishes served here. read more

Our first and last time here. Service: Our server, Nico, was excellent. Food: Be prepared, everything is ala cart. It was overpriced and terrible. The only thing that was good was the house salad with Thousand Island dressing and the bread and butter. I had the trio medallions with Béarnaise sauce and steak fries. My steak should have been cooked medium and it was well done. The sauce was cold and congealed and the fries were not steak fries but wedges that were from baked potatoes that were then fried. My husband had a New York strip and the mashed potatoes. He said his steak was burned on the outside and overcooked. Drink: I had a French Martini. It was not made right. Too much vodka and too little Chambord. The drink should have been purple from the Chambord but it was white and frothy. My husband had a Zombie Dust beer and he said it was stale. Ambiance: This restaurant doesn't really have any. It's like a want to be modernized restaurant plunked down in a strip. For the $150 we spent on dinner, we would have had a better meal at Olive Garden or Outback Steakhouse. read more

I came here for a special event for a private party. We had the entire room to ourselves. The room was spacious with no traffic. The servers were friendly and the food came promptly. This is a family friendly restaurant with good vibes. I ordered the sea bass and caprese salad. The sea bass was cooked to perfection. It was tender, melted in my mouth, had a tangy flavor, and was placed on a bed of cooked spinach. The portion was perfect, and not too big or or small. The caprese salad was delicious as well. It had a touch of olive oil with a delicious salad dressing on the side. Overall, the meal was healthy and delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant as a place to stop by for dinner. read more
