I'm stuck trying to decide whether to give 1or 2 stars. My family and I generally will try a restaurant again after a disappointing experience. Since Steve's Landing was recommended and I truly trusted the source of the recommendation. For a restaurant to be SO DAMN LOUD, it needs to be addressed. It would be loud compared to a bar that doesn't sell food. But, unfortunately, it was worse on our 2nd trip. The food was barely warm. I feel that the food sat for a while before being served. The beer was about as warm. Our server clearly rather be somewhere else because she was rarely at our table. If you get past all that and actually taste the food, tge disappointment continues. The server brought the check barely following the late arrival of the food. Since we were not going to eat anything anyway, I decided to pay for the meal and leave. read more

I'm from New Orleans and I like this place. Good flavor and spice for States North of I-10. Now we don't have the Gulf right out the back door so you won't get 16/20 count shrimp on your Smothered catfish, but he nails the flavors in the gravy, as we say it down here. Try it. My kids always get Cajun Chicken and it's spicy..We were told about Steve's when we moved up to Soddy and to get the Ribs... yum.... . Finally got in here about a month ago. I'd stopped by a few times before but the crowd/line kept me away. This time I went during the day and came by Waverunner, tying up at their dock. The dock needs a bit of renewal and should probably be more waverunner/jetski friendly, but I digress. Anyway, I got seated at a great table outside with a view of the lake. I ordered the hamburger platter and a Yuengling. I was waiting on promptly and my food arrived quickly. The hamburger was cooked exactly the way I ordered it and was very tasty as was the fries. It made for a very nice lunch sitting outside with the view. I'll be back and you should go too! read more

We were visiting family in Chattanooga and were seeking a good place to eat. Our family recommended Steve's Landing and said their ribs were awesome. Well we called and made reservations for 4:30 and were finally seated at 5:45. The patio and inside restaurant were packed and the noise level was so high you could not carry on a conversation with the person sitting next to you which greatly diminished the dinning experience. They were able to accommodate a strict gluten free diet which included ribs, baked potato and coleslaw. The ribs were good but not the best I have ever had. They were a little overdone as they fell off the bone rather than having a slight "pull away from the bone". My husband and son had catfish and said the catfish was mushy not firm or flakey. The queso dip was good and so was the loaded baked potato. The service was good and staff helpful with making gluten free menu choices. The price for three meals and soft drinks was $ 64. I greatly appreciate the gluten free offerings and might visit Steve's again. read more

Food was good, wait was very long, restaurant was very noisy, door slams constantly....sit on patio .

The dinner didn't get off to a good start when I was rudely informed that we wouldn't be seated until our entire party was there. We arrived early to make sure our party of six could get a table for a birthday dinner and not a word for was said on their website. The food and service were good but the seating policy and the enforcement until the very end set a terribly negative tone to the dinner. Standing in the cold until after the posted opening hours and rudeness of lady with the "flip do" will be what we remember the most. read more

Normally a 3.5-4 star but we had very slow service this last weekend. We came about 245 for a late lunch and ended up eating dinner about 445. Food was good, got the 5lb wings and they were very spicy and tasty. We asked for BBQ wings with the normal Buffalo and they may of been better than the regular wings. Staff was courteous but our "30" minute wait was about 75 minutes which ruined the experience. read more

Food is always great!! Love the hush puppies and shrimp. Cajun chicken is great too. Employees are friendly, well all but 1 anyways.

We ate here last night. Docked the boat and went in. About an hour before we arrived we called ahead and when we walked in we were seated right away! We had the racin Cajun pasta which was amazing! For dessert we ate the brownie and bread pudding! It was great!!!! read more

This place is very loud. My Tuna was great, but the creamed spinach was more like cheese with a sprinkling of spinach. My wife liked the boiled shrimp, but her coleslaw tasted bad. I'd say give the place a try, but it wasn't my cup of tea. read more

Since moving to the area, we had heard a lot about this place. We finally made the trip out there. The ribs are very good. The inside space is pretty small and fills up quickly, plus it's very noisy, even with a small crowd. Our waitress only checked on us once after our food arrived, which wasn't enough when our glasses needed repeated refills. We won't be making the trip out there again just to eat. read more

Great food, Best ribs around. Tonight was the first night we have ever been treated rudely by anyone on staff at Steve's. They told us they closed at 9:00 when we asked even though the Yelp info says they close at 10:00. We were sitting at the table having a conversation and finishing our drinks. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to! Everything great is about this place. The waiters and waitresses were really polite and nice. They did everything they could to make our experience great. The food was excellent, nothing was messed up, and it was a good price. If you go here, I recommend getting the quest and chips for an appetizer, and for your meal I would get the ribs or the Rajin Cajun pasta. Never got past the poor hostess. At 6pm Sat night Told me 40 minutes for a party of 7, that was expected, after 50 minutes I checked in again and she asked if we could split into two groups, I said we would be happy to do that, she said it would be just a minute. After 70 minutes I said we would sit in as many groups as needed, we just needed to sit, she proceeded to seat other groups (that arrived after us). My party consisted of TWO very hungry children and TWO pregnant ladies. We ended up walking out, taking a 45 min boat home and eating SONIC at 9pm. This poorly run establishment has NO customer service. (I might ad during my 80 minutes waiting I noticed they were way short on staff and almost no one every got a drink refill) They ruined what should have been an enjoyable family evening read more

I eat out often and have heard about Steve's Landing for quite some time. I live a bit over 30 minutes away, but cannot believe I didn't eat here sooner! It was SO worth the drive! Service was great and food was even better! And the size of the crowd confirmed what I had heard. This is simply a great place to eat! I've found a new favorite! read more

Horrible!!! Walked in ask for a table was told it was outside waiting for us, no one walked us there we just found our way. Then the waitress walked and and said what do you want we ordered two beers she rudely walked away... Came back with them sat them on the table we thanked her she turned and walked away... My husband and I went to Steve's Landing last night. I have been craving their Ragin Cajun pasta, it is so damn delicious. My husband would never take me because he was an electrician and said that he had done some electric work in their kitchen and it was not clean. Yesterday, the hunger outweighed hygiene (don't judge). We arrived about 8:20 Sat night. We were greeted by an attractive young hostess. "Would you like to sit outside, or inside"? And we reply "We would love to sit outside". Then things got weird. "I am sorry we are having problems with our hood in our kitchen, so we will not be able to serve you. It will be like 45 minutes". To which we reply "Totally fine, we will just sit on the patio and drink a beer or two" and she says "let me go ask Steve if you can do that" My head tilts to the side, these are foreign words. You don't want me to spend money here??? She promptly returns with the verdict that "No, we can't sell you beer and you can't wait". HOLD UP, I spot a table looking over menus, so I ask "have you told them that you have hood problems and they won't be able to order?" and she says "oh, they have already ordered" UH WHAT! Maybe they are studying for the after dinner menu test. So quietly, I say "You do see that there are some discrepancies with what you are saying?" and she says "Do you want to come see the smoke in the kitchen?" WTH Quick glance in the window, dinners look fine in there. I turn to my right, waitress is now taking an order from the study group. So now the hostess says "would you like me to get the owner, he's around back?" OMG YES, the owner will clear up this up right now and someone's going to get fired. Oh no wait, husband heads around back, returns after a few minutes and explains that Steve told him to go f himself and don't ever come back. Pretty sure my husband said something about his mother. Now, if you have been there, you know to exit you have to drive around the back of the building to leave. We drove around back with the convertible down and rolled past about seven employees smoking drinking and loudly explaining their dislike for us. They were probably out there for some fresh air, with all the hood smoke and stuff. On the flip side it was not the normal date night, and we have a great story to tell. Outstanding food. My wife had the shrimp and fish, I had the cajun pasta, daughter had the bacon burger and my son had the corn dog kids meal. It was ALL GOOD, and while price was comparable to other restaurants the taste made it a value. Loved eating outside on the deck too. We are locals but have just recently moved to this side of the river and decided to try the local eating places. This one was fantastic. Sure it's a cabin on the lake, but that's part of the appeal. I love the place. The food of course is the main reason. The ribs are the best in town and that's saying a lot because we have tons of good bbq in Chattanooga. It is a busy place and you need to plan according especially in the summer and on weekends but to me it is will worth it. As I said the food is fantastic!! The deserts are heavenly. My wife and I used to eat at Steves Landing regularly. A few months ago, in July of 2018, on a Friday night, we went to a Steves Landing for dinner. We arrived before they opened, and were among the first patrons to be seated. Our waitress, Christina, took our order. We waited for about 35 minutes on our food. When other patrons started receiving their food and we hadn't, we questioned our waitress, Christina, about how much longer it would be before our food would be coming out. She seemed offended and told us that it was Friday night and it might take a while. When Christina brought out our food, we noticed that she acted rather strangely. I had ordered fried shrimp with fries and green beans. My wife ordered a pasta dish. She drank water and I drank Diet Coke. After eating, shortly after we left, we both got extremely ill and started vomiting. We didn't go to the hospital, but we were sick for two days afterward. We honestly feel that our waitress may have put something in our food. We will NEVER go back to Steves Landing, and we had been eating there for years and were a loyal patron. Steve has NEVER been very friendly toward us and seems to choose whom he wants to be cordial with. But, something was definitely put in our food by accident or intentionally. Best know for their BBQ ribs, this hideaway also offers some great seafood. The fried shrimp and or fish dinner is plenty and always taste great. The spot on the river is very popular with the locals. Outdoor seating on the deck is available when the weather permits. Almost always a short wait to be seated. The first thing right off the bat we were taken to a filthy table that was wiped while we sat at it. This place was too expensive for what they offer. I paid 15 dollars for one piece of fish and soggy and cold french fries and the chunkiest cole slaw I have ever eaten--the cabbage was not even chopped up. Plus, the cole slaw smelled rancid. The pieces of cabbage were huge and there was no spices used on any of the food. I asked for malt vinegar for my fish and the waitress looked like it was the most bizarre request ever and told me they didn't have malt vinegar. I find this incredibly puzzling when you consider a huge portion of the menu is sea food. It was very disappointing and I hope to never go there again. read more

We called in many hours earlier to get on the wait list and we left after waiting for 45 minutes. When we tried to remind the hostess politely she responded with a horrible attitude. Horrible experience. We had four people ordering off the menu with no changes other than extra salad dressing. The grilled chicken was cold, so was the pasta. The rest of the food was warm-ish. Our drinks weren't refilled until we were ready to leave. This was our second visit, the first was no better but we figured it was because the place was packed. We were renting a house nearby for the Ironman race and looking for a place where the locals go. We found it! Food quality and taste are good and despite being busy, they brought out our order quickly. Hush puppies came with most of our dishes and were some of the best. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The environment is idyllic and charming like a fish camp. Sign on chalk board at entry said brand 'x' beer is a special - which we ordered only to be told, "we're out and we've not had that beer for a while." Uh? We'd go again. read more

Went to Steves Landing for dinner . Tried the ribs ..... They were phenomenal! The best ive had by far in Chattanooga! Also ordered the onion rings ..... they came in a bucket with sauce...... they were the real deal ! Our beverages never got below half a glass ! Steves Landing is my new Favorite place ! Great food !
