We have dined here several times. Every visit was fantastic. All the waitresses help out one another to ensure you have everything you need. The onion ring appetizer is one of my favorites on the coast. They bring in French bread from New Orleans and serve locally caught shrimp. The panoramic views of the marina and Gulf of Mexico are stunning. You can can choose to climb the stairway or use the elevator to get to the upstairs dining room. Tips below: Kids - they actually ordered side dishes (buttered pasta + sweet potato fries + sautéed veggies) and they. Ate. It. All. The sweet potato fries were phenomenal. Heard great things about this place from a friend. Dinner prices have gone up & it was very expensive. The spinach & artichoke dip was AMAZING & there was an option to add crab omg! The sweet potato fries were battered and fried & just tasted like oil- not good. The Yum-Yum bread was also delicious- warm, crispy, & cheesy and only $2 for a whole loaf. We ended up getting poboys because the dinner menu was so crazy expensive and my friend got a single filet of catfish cut in half on her sandwich & it was very small on this big piece of French bread. What an awesome restaurant! Every detail was truly great from start to finish. The location right on the beach and views are incredible. The ambience and decor was fun and appropriate. The menu has many amazing offerings of seafood and southern comfort food it was difficult to choose. The group I was with ordered fried green tomatoes topped with a delicious sauce that had crab meat... it was superb! I could have eaten my fill on just that and been happy. Yet I also had a cup of gumbo which was wonderful. I generally like it spicier, but even though it was mild, it had great flavor... and lots of shrimp! The seafood plate was top notch: huge shrimp, and cooked just right! The fresh brewed iced tea was perfect and refreshing. Nothing to give star review about though. The server was amazing. I think she said her name was Carly. She was on her game though and the bright spot of the dinner. Steve's Marina is a great place to relax and get a good meal. We usually eat there during the day so we can enjoy the view. The mimosas are a perfect ratio of champagne & oj, and they pair nicely which the tuna dip, which is some of the best on the coast. I always get the beans and rice, but I've never heard anything but positive about any of the food. The salads are delicious as well. You'll be waited on by some of the sweetest and most attentive waitstaff ever. It was a special day for us and Going to gulfport was part of the plan. 6:30 and it was packed...the front desk girl with an awesome smile told us it was a 30 mins waiting and we agreed. The soup was good and so were the oysters, which with the service and nice breeze got three stars. Who makes scampi without garlic or butter? Steve, apparently. The shrimp were not sautéed in garlic butter but appeared to have been boiled lightly in plain water. If any seasoning was added to the pasta's sauce, it was not apparent. Smoked tuna dip was good. Shrimp scampi was bland. My friend had the gumbo also and she only took 2 bites of it. We came and ate about 3pm and there was only 2 tables that were finishing up so it wasn't busy at all. And our server was a young guy and was busy talking to another customer the whole time he served us. It took 15 min just to get our salads and appetizers. I gave Steve's a try and ordered some dinner to go. They do not have a website or an online menu. When I ordered via phone I asked if the lunch menu was the same as dinner and was informed that they were the same. However I was charged $8 more for my entree than what was listed on the menu. Service was prompt and my food was ready right on time, down to the minute! I thoroughly enjoyed the Blackened Shrimp and a side of sweet potato fries. The sauce was flavorful and delicious. The rum and pineapple had tart and sweet notes to balance out the savory and buttery pasta as well as the heat from the shrimp. The angel hair pasta was perfectly cooked- al dente with just the slightest bite to it. All in all it was a perfectly balanced dish with a very generous portion size. The side salad was nothing special but a nice accompaniment. Although I was not a fan of the house dressing. It was way too thick, sweet, and creamy. It tasted like sour cream with some seasoning and sugar whipped in. The sweet potato fries were unlike any I've had before. I think they took puréed sweet potato and battered and fried them. Very different from your typical sweet potato fry. I didn't care for them but my husband loved them! All in all a great meal with fresh seafood that was cooked to perfection! Food is excellent, wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is the hostess. She was ok with us, not friendly, but not bad either. However, we sat near the front of the restaurant and saw how rude she was with other customers. I have never seen anyone so discourteous, even in the worst restaurants I have ever been to. I don't know what changed after we were seated, but this hostess genuinely acted like she did not want to be there and let the customers know it.
