This is a deer tenderloin.... at least that's what it was before they "butchered" it.

If I could do 0 stars I would, every single thing I've thawed out to cook up for friends and family has looked like they ripped it off and drug it behind a dump truck. It looks like they cut it with a butter knife. The worst quality meat I've ever received from anywhere. I will never go back there. It's almost a waste of the animal.

Expensive and rude. We miss Steve.

I am giving one star because Trevor came out and tried to "salvage" the business. My family and I have taken all our animals to Steve's for years and years. The past year the prices have increased and the customer service has decreased. It used to be you took in your animal, were welcomed and placed your order. It was always a little busy during hunting season but the guys did a great job to move each truck through. Now, you must have an appointment to drop off and the hours for pick up are different. We have always quartered our animals and the "processing" fee was fair. Today we picked up my elk quarters (109 pounds in burger) the processing fee was $298.50! When my husband tried to ask why the fee was so high $2.98 a pound we were told to wait for Amy. Well... Amy (Steve's daughter) came out, chest puffed up, and pointed to my estimate and said "you signed the estimate, if you didn't like the price you should have not come here! And tapping her finger loudly and pointing to the paper. (My husband was cut off before he could finish his statement). He said "you don't need to yell or be an ass, calm down". She then proceeded to tell him he could "go suck it asshole and leave and never come back!" There were 2 minor children present for the entire show!!! Needless to say we paid our $802.95 bill and took the meat but will NEVER be back. We had ordered custom meats and that totaled $484.60. *Remember it was only 4 quarters I took to them for a total of 199 pounds... and paid $802.95. Please save your money and go where you are treated fairly or at least like a customer!

I was fond of the poultry selection. Succulent poultry makes a great meal. High five the poultry. Support local. Well worth the visit.

Wheat Ridge Poultry and Meats is your local connection. We visited a few weeks ago and went in separately with our masks. Forgot yours? They offered masks and antibacterial disinfectant right at the door. So thoughtful! The staff were great and super helpful. They offer everything at reasonable prices and had a few things (like jalapeno seasoned bacon, hatch chili bacon and keto bacon, ya'll) that we'll be back for again and again. They offer fresh eggs and source most, if not all of their meats and produce locally. They work with local farmers and ranchers who treat their animals humanely, grow organic produce and don't use antibiotics, hormones and GMOs (check out their website for more details). Ice cream - they're sporting Little Man ice cream flavors and the cheese curds are also local - Cream City Cheese Curds. And.... I can't wait to pick up The Village Pie Maker pies next time we're there. Such a great find! Go.... go now!

I'll be dreaming about Blackbelly dinner until I get to have it again…read more We didn't have a reservation and were able to sneak in as a walk-in after only a short wait. The service was amazing and the entire staff was so knowledgeable about the menu. Every time they would bring us something, they explained each ingredient and the person that made it. I've heard they have amazing breakfast burritos at the Market so I'll need to come see for myself sometime soon. Would totally recommend and will be bringing out of town visitors here to show off.

We were actually having a really good experience here. The food was good, the service was solid,…read moreand overall we were genuinely enjoying ourselves. The drinks were definitely expensive, but we were happy to pay for a quality experience at an upscale restaurant. We ordered multiple appetizers, had several drinks, sat at the bar for quite a while, and honestly about to leave thinking this was a place we would probably come back to. That changed the second the bill arrived. Buried into the check was a 7% "kitchen surcharge." In other words, the restaurant decided to pass along kitchen payroll costs directly onto the customer without being upfront about it. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping on top of that surcharge as well, essentially paying an extra hidden fee without realizing it. At a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and classy, this came across as incredibly tacky and cheap. Pay your staff properly and price your menu accordingly instead of sneaking surprise fees onto the bill at the very end. That's not hospitality. That's the kind of nickel and diming people expect from budget airlines, not a supposedly high end dining experience. It completely ruined what had otherwise been a nice night. We were seriously considering coming back before this happened. Now we won't return.
