I ordered an UberEats pickup order from Cupid's Wings in Davis with the item as pictured. Interestingly, there wasn't a restaurant actually called Cupid's Wings that can be found on the maps, nor there was any signage at the address suggesting that there was a restaurant named Cupid's Wings at the location. Instead, you only see Steve's Pizza outside at the address and that they do sell chicken wings during happy hour. As I entered the location and stood in line and wait, the kitchen staff just handed me the order without saying a word. I knew this order was mine because I asked for Hot Sauce with a Diet Pepsi with my order, and it was the only 8pcs that they were cooking up (they weren't cooking anything else at the time). The location was relatively empty with only a few other tables being seated. Although I thought it was weird that the kitchen staff would hand someone an order without saying anything, I digress... Originally, I thought paying $20 for 8x chicken tenders would last me both lunch and dinner, especially given the size of those tenders indicated in the picture. Upon opening the box, however, I can say I was beyond disappointed. The size of the "tenders" (or I mean nuggets) were somewhere between a popcorn chicken nugget and a McDonald's McNugget. Although the nugget uses actual chicken, the breading makes up a big portion of the nugget that you would consume. As for the food itself goes, they were cooking these nuggets and french fries in the pizza oven, so you can see that parts of the fries and nuggets were starting to be burnt. The fries were quite dry and so were the nuggets. The nuggets themselves taste and look exactly like the ones you would get at Grocery Outlet, where you would buy a large bag of orange chicken for $4.99, but bake the nuggets minus the sauce (which I often do myself at home using an air-fryer). I think it was pretty outrageous that they could be charging almost $20 for 8 tiny nuggets, fries, and drink (almost like a McDonald's Happy Meal) where I could have gotten 20 larger nuggets at McDonald's for $5, a large drink for a $1, and large fries for $1 under the app. While initially hoping to save the leftovers for dinner, the nuggets were so tiny that I ended up going to Jack in the Box a couple of blocks away afterward and getting another combo meal since they gave me so little food for $20. $30 total for a fast-food lunch? The new owners are great! I ran into some trouble with ordering via Grubhub (some items didn't give any "no thanks" options and forced me to pay extra even though I didn't want them, then the address was wrong) - and the folks in the restaurant, who were the new owners, took a great interest in what I experienced. They were still setting things up and getting the kinks worked out in the old methods vs. new. They gave me a refund for the extra items I was forced to pay for but didn't actually want (just a few $ but still made a big impression), showed concern and action-oriented response to issues, and showed their excitement to have taken over. I've been roaming Davis on my lunches for some time now, directly across the street is a competitor UOB BUT they don't serve food so we decided to step into Steve's Pizza. Immediately I got childhood memories from the back in the day pizzeria vibes, arcade games to the left, an above average salad bar AND an all you can eat Lunch special for $13.99. And that's what I was offered as soon as I walked up to the counter as I'm looking at their massive wall of beer taps. As I'm eating the pizza it reminds me of a better Mountain Mikes and as the pizza runs low for all you can eat the guys in the kitchen are pumping out more pizza and as they walk it out they were offering to serve before placing it under the heaters, literally fresh out of the oven! I was constantly checked on but not so much to were I was being bugged and the main guy behind the counter actually showed me the weekly special menu that was right in front of my face I didn't even notice it because I was in such a WOW. I highly recommend this place I'll be coming here when I'm in town or if me and the family want to take a little trip out of town and grab some pizza! read more

Our first "Covid" valentines day with a toddler! We needed some comfort food, STAT! My mom recomended Steve's Pizza as a great local spot to get take out, so we decided to check it out. We were amazed to see how many options they had besides just the typical pizza! We ordered a small pepperoni pizza, kids speghetti meal, cheeseburger, philli cheesecake, fries, and boneless wings. We wanted to try it ALLLL! Everything was so delicious and the service was amazing. They hooked us up with a delicious Valentines Day dinner to take home. It's hard to imagine a veggie pizza I've enjoyed more than the ones I get from Steve's Pizza. It's called the Classic Vegetarian and it is perfect. It has everything I want in a pizza: It tastes fresh, the crust is the perfect thickness, and the cheese is just enough to keep the toppings on (of which there are lots). It is even good reheated - given you have a toaster oven - which is ideal because I can never finish what I order. I may not be able to speak to any of their other menu items, but their team provides excellent service and I always loved visiting their location before the pandemic. The whole place gave off the classic pizza place vibes I'm crazy for. But really the biggest reason to love Steve's for me is that Classic Vegetarian Pizza. I'm pretty picky with pizza sauces since many places normally lay the tomatoe sauce very thick, but I enjoyed Steve's since it wasn't over done. As you can see, it had a lot of pepperoni slices on it, so they weren't skimping out on the meat. I've been going to Steve's for 5+ years & sadly the quality has dramatically decreased in the last 2. Not even going to go into the bad customer service I've experienced in that time, and just focus on the miserable meal I was served last night. Ordered medium thin crust pepperoni, same as every other time. Was told to pick it up in 30 minutes...when I picked it up (and tipped heavily mind you) I didn't notice the bottom of the box was ice cold. When I got home, the pizza looked like it had been sitting out for HOURS before they sliced it. I cannot beleive the manager himself looked me dead in the eye as he was handing me what he KNEW was a substandard meal for which I paid $25. TBH, Little Ceasers is vastly superior to this Steve's location for pizza, breadsticks, and general customer service. If you're in Davis, I recommend avoiding this place as its really gone down hill. Fortunately the Woodland location for Steve's has better customer service and doesn't serve their longtime customer's food that belongs in the dumpster instead of on their plates. It was disappointing when it came to the actual meal. The cheesy bread had little cheese and was super dry, the "Steve's sauce" tasted bland. The pizza was disproportionate where there was an overwhelming amount of bread that was cooked unevenly (some burnt parts and some doughy parts). The toppings (cheese, tomato, and basil) did taste good and fresh but there was so little and it was outweighed by the amount of bread. However the last 2 times we ordered, the pizzas are lacking sauce (which is usually really good) and the pizzas are over baked, some would call it burnt. Ordered a meatball sandwich and an Italian sub to be delivered. With tax, the cost was over $30. This food was horrible! Both sandwiches arrived hot, but were soggy. We could not pick up the sandwiches without the bread falling apart in our hands. The only was to eat any part of them was with a fork. The bread was inedible. There were WAY too many grilled peppers and onions on both sandwiches. The fries were also soggy and limp. Some of the fries were burned at the ends; not as though they were in the frier too long, but literally charred black. Ordering on-line was the only pleasant experience about this order. Easy to order, easy to pay. Delivery was supposed to be around 7:00. At around 7:20, we called to ask about our order. About fifteen minutes later, a Steve's Pizza delivery person arrived. So delivery was 35-40 minutes late. The food steaming in a box with too many vegetables while waiting for delivery likely made everything too soggy to eat. This Steve's pizza location is great and all the staff is very friendly. Their lunch pizza/salad bar buffet priced at $13.99 is reasonably priced served from 11:00am - 2:00 pm. They were making fresh pizza right up to the end of their lunch hour. Service was impressive and staff was kind enough to not only announce but also serve freshly made pizza slices to tables right out of the oven. Once again I'm here to discuss the pizza index which is based on a cost/quality relationship. Steve's used to rank pretty high on this index for me, but with the new owners quality has taken a huge step back. For those that don't know, this location used to be run by the "founder" I guess you can call him. Other Steve's locations were run by a franchisee. When the founder wanted to retire he sold this location to the franchisee, which makes sense. So back when I used to own a store across the street from them they were delicious. Pizza, bread sticks, salad bar, cinnasticks and more were great. Easily in 4 or 5 star territory. After they changed hands the quality dropped because I think the new owner buys everything in bulk and spreads it across all his locations. This tanked the quality. Couple that with the way they changed the recipes and you have a perfect storm for two star territory. My employees loved their cinnasticks... they basically became these burnt, inedible twist things that everyone hated. Cheese, toppings, and sauce on the pizza changed and were terrible. Overall there are waaaaaaay better places to have pizza, within walking distance even. Like seriously, off the top of my head, there are three within a couple blocks that I would prefer. read more

I thought I'd try Steve's pizza since Woodstock was full of guests, and I'd seen an Instagram post of it having good pizza. After ordering the garlic ranch chicken pizza & a pitcher of beer, which we didn't get right away, it took 10 to 15 minutes to receive the pitcher; meanwhile, they brought that out, we couldn't find a spot to sit without us horrendously sweating! The only place where they did have AC was in the back, where families had already taken up the 4 to 5 tables that were back there, so we decided to eat outside, which was still hot but had airflow. Once we received our pitcher, the lovely, inexperienced guy poured our beer into the cups incorrectly, causing a lot of foam, so we had to wait extra. Steve's Pizza is a great choice for pizza and pasta in Davis. Steve's is definitely more 'old school' when it comes to the food. It is not fancy-schmancy or complicated. IT'S A PIZZA JOINT. And as a pizza joint, it is great. Steve's offers a nice variety of pizzas, pasta, sides, and a salad bar. The pizza at Steve's is straight up what you would think a 'standard' pizza should be... you can get all the standard toppings (nothing really exotic), the dough isn't too thick or too thin, and price-wise it hits in the middle (maybe upper-middle) of the pack. If you're going to Steve's, you're most likely looking to eat pizza. As I just mentioned, Steve's offers up all the traditional pizza toppings in a variety of combinations or you can make your own up. I'm a fan of the Original Steve's Combo as it is very balanced between fresh veggies and tasty meats. For those of you who enjoy non-meat pizzas, the all veggie pizza is quite good. My favorite item on it has to be the large slices of tomatoes on it. Super flavorful! The pizza crust is great. I actually prefer a thinner crust pizza (because I feel thick crust gets you too full too fast), but Steve's pizza crust is in that sweet spot that hits the 'just right' mark. It's soft, a little doughy (in a good way), and not hard labor to eat. Besides the pizzas, I would recommend the pasta dishes. I was surprised at how good they were the first time I had them. The spaghetti and meatballs come with three large sized meatballs. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending a pasta dish if you go to Steve's. Steve's falls short in a couple areas for me. The first area is the breadsticks. I usually go crazy for pizza place breadsticks... but these are flabby and a bit oily tasting. I would just skip this and wait for the pizza to come out. The other area is the salad bar. The salad bar seems to be stuck in the past. The ingredients there are small in number, and the entire thing just doesn't look too fresh. There are a few highlights in the salad bar (CROUTONS!), but not enough to really warrant getting it. If you're going to go to Steve's, besides giving the pizza a try, go for some pasta too! Steve's is a great choice for pizza in Davis. I would say it is one of my top three places for pizza locally! read more

Not only did they look amazing, but they tasted even better. I got the veggie pizza and it was one of the best veggie pizzas I have ever had. The service was super friendly and I appreciated them going out of their way to offer ranch, and other regular pizza condiments. This place is yummy! Good signature pizzas but sort of pricey. Get some bread sticks, they are the best with ranch and/or marinara sauce. You can get them to use white sauce instead of red; I prefer the white sauce. One of their signature pizzas has white sauce. I would come here again but it is pricey. Good Since my family and I had pizza for dinner last night we didn't order any pizza this time. Instead we had burgers, chicken nuggets and pasta. The setting reminds me of a Round Table so everything's casual, the attire and ambience... they had a salad bar and a TV room and also a little arcade room. The weather outside was nice enough to eat on their patio seating which we did. The squirrels didn't come near our table but they were around. I had the Pesto Chicken... there were hardly any chicken and just a few mushrooms, there were lots of penne pasta and artichoke hearts and tomatoes in basil pesto cream and topped with shredded Asiago cheese. It was good but I was looking for more grilled chicken breasts. My husband did enjoy his Grilled Chicken and Mushroom Melt. It had sauteed mushrooms and Provolone cheese, mayo, lettuce and Roma tomatoes. We will have to come back here for the pizza and that will be another separate review. I used a gift card for our meal but went over the card value. The cashier that tended to our order charged me the whole amount on my debit card and didn't apply the gift card. Hope it gets fixed soon. I did call the restaurant and was told that the Manager caught it and will apply the credit. Street parking.
