I ordered Philly cheesesteak sandwiches but they messed up and put cheese bread as the order. Tried to charge me again for the sandwiches. Made me wait an hour before I got my refund. Laughed in my face telling me what I ordered even though my buddy specifically heard me say Philly cheese steak. Overall wasted an hour for no food but at least I got my refund. read more

Too much crust. Not even hot. Tastes like premise frozen pizzas you buy at supermarkets. And th place has small flies everywhere.

wow! what a lovely valentines day treat. we came for the first time to this lovely easy to find abundant indoor and outdoor seating gem. We were immediately greeted with warm faces and covid safe environment. WE were presented the menu are options waited a short while and the viola! a hot heart shaped cheesy sausage and pepperoni pizza perfection! pizza rific! my daughter and i were so excited we couldn't wait and devoured it in the car.. yum and beautiful and it came with the most amazing ranch for a dippin! thank you so much for a great pizza! read more

ABYSMAL! Ordered a chicken and mushroom melt, worst decision in my life. Chicken was drier than Gandi's flip flop, the mushrooms were extremely salty and the bread/bun was rock solid! This was served with fries, half a handful to be exact all served on a dirty plate. To add to all of this, we were served by a rude employee, with a 30 minute wait and to be surrounded by dirty plates on the tables next to us, and a fly invested salad bar, yet the restaurant was empty! read more

Man, I hate to do it but our recent experience was bunk. Ordered a pizza and salad bar. Pizza was half cheese half combo. The combo side was still raw at the dough, ima I think it's because of all the toppings it had, regardless, I didn't know if I was eating cheese or pizza dough. 5 stars because the food is delicious and consistent... BUT. What's even better is their customer service! I have COVID and I ordered on DoorDash, they had no option to add ranch! I called into the store to see if they could add it to my DoorDash order. They were super accommodating and made sure to include it. I liked the service. Attentive and friendly. I enjoyed the sports selections on the TV's too. But for me, it's all about the pizza. I have been visiting Steve's Pizza for over 35 years. The pizza was not the same. Below average for the price. The sauce was a bit sour, lacking zest or a hint of sweetness. The crust was a bit over-baked also lacking flavor or the usual supple texture. It used to squeak on my teeth when I bit into it. Also, the sparseness of toppings was also disappointing. It lacked a decent amount of cheese,pepperoni and mushroom. I hope they will read this review and make the needed changes so I can feel confident about supporting them again. read more

Went to have lunch at Steve Pizza in Davis today. There were 2 tables that were having the buffet lunch. Sat there for 45 minutes and no pizza came out. Was able to get 1 slice of pizza before it was all gone. Employee came and told us that food would be coming out soon but when you only have an hour for lunch you can't wait till they get around to making pizza for the buffet. Will not go there again. I was a victim of 'micro-aggression' of a White Male Customer, yesterday at this establishment. The Data points: 1. I arrived to pick up a pizza I ordered by phone. I was waited patiently while I waited for the cashier to come to assist me. 2. A White Male dressed in a polo shirt, shorts, glasses, boat shoes, and mask came and stood behind me. 3. After 20 seconds(I am estimating), the White Male motioned me to look at me, and calmly said, "Do you mind if I get in front of you, and just order another beer?" 4. Startled, I looked at him, and calmly said, "No, I am just going to pick up my pizza and then go." 5. The White Male then made a motion of hands up at his waist level and said, "Ohhhhhh, alright.....don't get mad!" 6. Without thinking(granted I should of)...I replied calmly, "Sir, I am not mad...I think your mad...because a non-white person is in front of you." 7. The White Male, then hunched over, his eyes and eyebrows furrowed...and he got into a sulking position...hunched, with arms folded across his chest....the body language of a petulant child who was told they can't have any candy. 8. Meanwhile, the female WHITE cashier. She said nothing. Actually said, nothing!!! She collected my money, gave me change, and motioned to get my pizza...all without a word!!! At no time did the White Female Cashier try to make feel safe...or, contain the 'micro-agression' of the White Male customer standing in a sulking pose behind. At no time did the White Female Cashier even a say a word to me. Because she had a mask on, my only read of her was by her eyes. I am not body language expert, but to me, I felt her eyes were 'spewing' ire at me(again, I am already feeling humiliated and hurt....so please keep this in mind). The humiliation I felt was overwhelming. But I reminded myself what Michelle Obama once, said; "When they go low, you go high." So, I went to get my pizza and then said to the WHITE FEMALE cashier, "Thank you, have a good night!" It is obvious that this establishment in Davis cannot maintain a safe place for people of non-white origin. I have sent a letter describing this incident to the Sacramento Office. As I sign of protest....I urge of all of you...those who feel that all people should be treated with dignity and probity....TO BOYCOTT "STEVE'S PLACE" in Davis for 30 days. Literally love this place! Awesome salad bar and fresh delicious pizza! And the bonuses are a TON of beer options, super reasonably priced and they have some lunch specials and happy hour!, and the inner child in me is always so giddy when I get to use their super cool touch screen soda dispenser. The people who work here are very nice and clearly care about customer service. Also, nice outdoor seating if it isn't too hot ! All in all I've had a great experience every time I come here, which is why I continue to return! (Also free wifi if that's a big deal) I would highly recommend this place. read more

They have pizza, pasta, and salad! And GARLIC BREAD. Again, I emphasize, GARLIC BREAD!!!! Pizza is amazingly delicious, and the pasta is even better! I had the speghetti and meatball, and the meatball was the most delicious thing I've ever had. I mean, I've never had such a great tasting meatball in my life. It was huge, and yummy. We came here for my birthday dinner yesterday! Finally! We ordered breadsticks which was awesome good. We also ordered the Californian pizza. We mainly ordered them because they contain artichoke hearts unfortunately they ran out and the server was super friendly. Was able to work with us about substitute for artichoke to mushroom. The pizza was soooooo good! We are also glad that the server knows sign language (abc's) which makes it easier for us to order, so I'm giving them five stars to start with.. hopefully next time we come we get to have artichoke on the pizza! read more

I've ordered here 5 times since moving to Davis (less than a year ago) and each time they forget something, which adds Anywhere between 10-20 minutes to cook the item that was missing. They really need to work on their quality control. It's really not that hard to read an order. Also, they never apologize for their mistakes. After Pajamarino, my husband and I were starved. We walked to Original Steve's to meet up with friends and load up with calories burnt for the day. Their pizza was okay. I wanted to load up with salad but I was tempted by the pizza. LOL We had a long table and the place was very friendly to big groups. Movable tables and chairs were combined together to accommodate us. It was a great camaraderie with scrumptious food and bottomless drinks. Couldn't say much about service since it was a pay as you order kind of thing. They'd serve the pizza and they'd disappear. Fountain drinks were a serve-yourselves system, except for liquor. Here's a great thing that happened with one of our friends' orders though: they were waiting for a while for their pizza to arrive. When it finally showed up, it was half of the tray. Server explained that the other side of the pizza got burnt and so they were making a new one for them, yet they still salvaged the one that they served. Extra half for free. That's customer service! LOVE this pizza place! Their pizza is thicker than woodstocks and they sprinkle some cheddar on their pizzas. Personally, I enjoy their pizza more than woodstocks whose pizza sauce can be way too zesty (in a I am going to suffer bad gas way). When you order for delivery, there are really good coupons attached to the box like $4 off a $20 order and an XL pizza for $12.99. They will also have facebook promos every now and again to get a free pizza with the purchase of a particular item on their list. A cool thing about Steves is that they have a HAPPY HOUR! It is a small HH menu that includes sliders, chicken bites/wings, and cheesy bread sticks and are all in the $5-$6 range. My favorite is the cheesy bread since they give you about 8 sticks! Good food, good atmosphere. The downside of this place is, it is always understaffed when busy. Pickup order is never on time. Let's just start off with how much I love this pizza place. I come here quite regularly with the gf to watch games. Typically never busy and has a plethora of TVs to watch from and if what you want isn't on they will get it on for you. They have amazing seating from small booths with smaller TVs to family rooms and party room. this place really caters to all guest crowds. I always wonder where they get their business from to keep the doors open cause they aren't busy whenever I go there. They have happy hour on weekdays but I forget which days those are. I typically order small with a pitcher to share and the cheesy garlic breadsticks. Best way to go on a budget and watch sports with beer and an appetizer. The pizza is delicious but like all pizza places in davis, they can be a little pricey. I do love the fact that this place really caters to all group sizes and the staff are friendly. Sometimes they can seem rather new or slow but there can be explanations to that. Never any bad service. They also have a salad bar for those who like that kind of stuff. Check this place out and bring some friends. Go during happy hour. If I had to guess it's weekdays 5-8 but don't take my word for it. I can't recommend a pizza cause we all have different taste so go wild and choose whatever pizza you want. But i do recommend the cheesy garlic bread with ranch. such a filling appetizer. read more

This place has never been stellar. This review is a result of a visit in November. The place was pretty slow. Sometimes, when there aren't a lot of customers service gets worse. If you are the only person there, it's easy to be forgotten about. So me and my friends popped into here on Picnic Day since the lines were around the block for many of the places that we had walked by. We're older and have been through many Picnic Day festivities to know that unless we're trying to get blitzed or something, there isn't a reason to brave the lines with every other 21 to mid 20's patron in the city. That we can do in the privacy of someone's place without having to gamble on a bar having any seating at all. The service here seems quick and friendly. Nothing crazy as far as attentiveness, but I think much of the business is designed that you get/refill your drinks by the counter, you go and order, and the food is about the only thing brought over to you at the table. I am basing this entirely on the experience since we didn't really order the food. I had brought over sammiches from the East Coast to feed the group. Still munched on them today cuz those things were huge. Anyway, I'm getting off topic... The weather had just gotten hot though and there was seating available outside. The beer selection here is nice with many different types on tap so you should be able to find at least one or two that you like. The shaded area outside was good though a bit tiny, fit perfectly with how the weather was for the day. It is also the slightest bit off of the beaten path. Most of the mainstream bars and places to hole in specifically for drinking are between 1st and 3rd so although there was some rambunctious drunks wandering by it paled in comparison to how it was on the main streets. It was great to be able to relax here for a bit and get away from the crowds for a while. Given the price of the pizza, I'm not sure I would come back for food but as the weather gets warmer I would keep that outside patio in mind just in case. read more

Steve's Pizza is without question the best quality pizza in the area. The quality is excellent. The crust is wonderful. So why only 2 stars? Value. There isn't any. The thing about Steve's pizza is that it's too expensive. Way too expensive. If you have a family of 4 it will cost you about $70 to feed them pizza at Steve's. They will almost definitely enjoy the pizza, but you'll pay more than you would pay to take them to a service-oriented restaurant with a complete menu. Steve's also take quite a long time to bake their expensive pies, so don't expect to eat within 30 minutes of ordering, it's likely to be at least 45 minutes until your pie comes out, and an hour and a half if you order it for delivery, which will cost you an additional $6 fee. Perhaps this is the result of their top-quality ingredients and California's absurd anti-business legal environment, but this excellent pizza is so overpriced that we're probably done with Steve's. read more

Steves pizza is fantastically price and quality food! We ordered pick up one night for pasta, salad and bread. We ordered for 20 and I feel like our portion size and amount of food was for 100! I'm not kidding the soccer team ate leftovers the next day and there are still 50% of the food to go after the second eating. Definitely worth the price! We also took our team here for pizza a 2nd night and the boys ate it all. The quality of food is great, service great, food is great. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Honestly, I had completely discounted this place since my undergrad years after they accidentally forgot to make my roommates gluten free pizza gluten free. This normally, would be no big deal but considering she has celiac's... ya. Today we called in for our order- family size club pizza and two orders of bone in wings- the experience was entirely different. The pizza crust was burned and some toppings were also burned. I randomly stopped in Davis and drove around and started to get hungry. Parked the car and walked around for a minute. My daughter didn't want Chinese, which is where I was headed regardless of what she wanted but I decided to accommodate her and we entered Steve's Pizza. I'm so glad that I decided on pizza! I really enjoyed my meal. Everything I ate, tasted good. The breadsticks, the pizza and the wings. I thought everything was priced very reasonable. Steve's should be ranked higher on yelp that it currently is (3.5). Our current fav for take out pizza in Davis. My recommendation is to keep it simple. Sausage and pepperoni is our go to. We've tried some of the more complex machinations and they're not as good as the simple classics. Seems like a good family spot early in the evening too. read more
