Give a customer what they want the way they want it. I requested to pay extra for cheese and sour on my food. They said no. We can't do that. Then I ordered a burrito that would have cheese in it. I asked can you put my cheese and sour cream on the side instead of in it. They said no. We can't do anything on the side only in it. So my 11$ small tacos with just tortillas and meat ended up costing me 18$ because I had to buy cheese next door at a little store for my tacos. I then asked for cilantro for my tacos. again was told they couldn't do that. I asked why because my tacos come with it. I was given it but in rude way. They were not shy about letting me know they didn't want to. I do not agree with their business model. NOTHING ON THE SIDE. To make it even worse the tacos were cold and greasy. Nice little grill area perfect for lunch after a hard hike, which is exactly what I came here for. ATMOSPHERE/ARCHITECTURE: 7/10 Average looking grill area with patio seating that is equipped with umbrellas. The seating area is medium sized and probably can seat 40-50 people. The views from here are scenic, as are any views from within Yosemite. SERVICE: 8/10 Staff was kind and courteous. The orders came out on the slower side, but otherwise no issues. FOOD: 9/10 Chicken Sandwich - 9/10 - I'm sure there is the bias of being hungry and tired after having gone on a big hike, but this was a juicy, delectable chicken sandwich with a nice, perfectly crispy coating. This really hits the spot after a tough hike. Root Beer Float - 10/10 - Man oh man, I came here wanting a milkshake but they didn't have any. No ice cream either. All they had that was close to that was a root beer float. I haven't had one since I was maybe 10 years old. Okay, whatever, I'm hungry, tired and thirsty. This though, was amazing. Simply AMAZING! VALUE: 8/10 It's a little bit on the pricy side, but still reasonable compared to a lot of other things available in the park. It's surpassingly hard to find vegan food (that isn't a bare salad) in Yosemite. You would think with the number visitors and the demographic, it would be better. Alas, I'll start by saying this place does not label vegan items, just vegetarian, and that the labeling seems to be blatantly incorrect. None of the salads, nor the black bean burger, are marked vegetarian, though I'm told by staff (and according to menu ingredients) they are. Additionally, there are items marked as being "may have been made without gluten ingredients", like the black bean burger and the hotdogs, but I'm sure the buns they come with do contain gluten. That made me a hesitant about being able to make any modifications to make something vegan. When I asked if one of the salads was vegan, the cashier grabbed her manager who ended up being very helpful. I worked with her to remove animal products from one of the rice bowls and add a black bean patty on it. It ended up being surprisingly decent given how customized it was. Pleasantly surprised by the food here. Wasn't expecting much being in such a remote area. Ordered the BBQ bacon burger which tasted quite nice. Double patties with bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and "burger sauce". Tasted like a Wendy's baconator which is pretty solid after hiking the trails of Yosemite. Chicken fingers were subpar. The order came with three small sized pieces of fried chicken. Got both the bacon ranch fries and garlic Parmesan fries. Enjoyed both of them. If you're staying in Half Dome Village or if you just want to take a breather with a burger in Yosemite Valley, this is the place to be. Not a bad burger stand! I am surprised at the variety this little place has for you. It's all outdoors, patio seating. You stand in line and order at a window.You are given a number, which can be found on your receipt. They have an intercom system to call out order numbers so you can hear it over the crowd. I got the cheeseburger and garlic parmesan fries. The cheeseburger was surprisingly pretty decent. The meat wasn't overcooked and came with lettuce, tomato, red onions, pickles, cheese, and burger sauce (Thousand Island dressing). The garlic parmesan fries weren't bad either, that is if you absolutely love garlic as much as I do. There was so much garlic your eyes watered. The service was pretty fast from order to pick up. The workers know the volume of people they get there and make sure that the food gets out quickly. I would definitely return here for a burger on my next vacation to Yosemite Valley. read more

The food here's expensive AND the portions REALLY SMALL! My boyfriend and I ordered pad Thai rice bowl and the banh mi and the rice bowl wasn't even a rice bowl. It's like one of the small paper trays that are used at carnivals or something and it was like $14.50! Not only that but the service wasn't that great! I can't eat here and not feel complete in life. Just the experience of walking into Curry Village and staring up at the giant granite looming over you is enough to put you in a new state of mind -- combine that with the end of a long day of hiking and the late afternoon summer sun and sitting out on a deck with others coming and going, hanging out, enjoying life and you've got a recipe for success. This applies to most of Curry Village's establishments. But what put this place over the top for me was unwrapping the cheeseburger and having it actually be good. Their Classic Caesar salad was unimpressive - a tiny to-go container with romaine, cheap croutons, and generic dressing. The burgers were $6-$7.75 with a $3.50 combo option (french fries, sweet potato fries or fruit + drink). I'm not sure how the rights are given for certain people to open food establishments in a national park, but I am disappointed. For such a breathtaking place that is visited by people around the world, there should be food and service that deserves the natural ambiance of Yosemite. This was one of the three quick eat options at Half Dome Village in Yosemite National Park. Had I other options, I would have chosen a different spot. But since we packed light in our Yosemite excursion, we ate here. There is only outside seating, and it is limited at that. While waiting in line, we got to make our selection of two cheeseburger baskets, and a fried fish sandwich with parmesan garlic fries. The fish sandwich and garlic fries were mine. The sandwich was alright, a little dry for fish, and nothing special with the sauce and lettuce/tomato topping. The fries were depressing, almost grey in color, they were the standard fries with some parmesan cheese and garlic butter poured atop, making them limp and grease logged. The cheeseburgers were plain and dry. What is worse, is that while waiting for my order to be called, I noticed a lot of people who had already received their food returning because their orders were wrong, or food was simply missing. Nearly every customer had to return to the window. Seeing this, I made sure to check our order, and when I did I found they had forgotten two orders of our fries. For food that is so expensive the restaurant should at least make sure to deliver it all if they're not going to take the time for quality! All the time we were eating, the kids next to us were fascinated by these little ground squirrels that showed no fear for humans in their quest for food. Cute, but not cute. When we got here, I was feeling like a hungry mama bear ready to tear into my first bite. It didn't matter what type of food just as long as it was real. Its was my first camping and hike trip up half dome. I had been living on granola bars and freeze dried food for the last five days. I had the chicken schwarma, which was fine, but using the name schwarma was a little misleading to me. Ordered the chicken pesto panini and it was not very good. I also ordered the Caesar salad and again, not very good. A bunch of Romaine lettuce in a small plastic container, sprinkled with cheese, with a bland packet of dressing on the side didn't do much for me. My kids got the chicken strips, which they liked, but for $6 three strips on a bed of fries is expensive for what you get. It is one of the only options in the valley, though. Made a day trip to Yosemite to ride bikes around the Valley. When we stopped at Half Dome Village (it's always going to be Curry Village to me), our original intent was to purchase some drinks to replenish ourselves, but since it was nearly lunch time, we decided to eat at the Grill. We ordered two bacon cheeseburgers that were shared among three of us, plus a children's hamburger menu item. The latter included vegetable strips (carrots and celery), and it was a generous helping. I was very pleased with the outstanding customer service provided especially by David and the rest of the Meadow Grill employees. The menu is great and very reasonable for the quality of food. The pesto chicken burger is delicious and was perfect after a long day of hiking. I will swing by the Grill as much as I can whenever I am in Yosemite.
