    One of my favorite Honk Kong-style cafes. Their salty egg french fries, in house-made chili, salty egg fish skin, and beef noodles are my go-to's. Of course, drop by for their HK milk tea and other delicious beverages.

    I got the ying yang rice with fish cream sauce on one side and meat and red sauce on the other, it was delicious!! Lots of protein and good portion. Salted egg yolk fries also a hit for me! Perfectly crispy and perfect amount of salty egg yolk flavor. The dim sum I'm thinking they order frozen and re steam

    Food 3.75/5 I recommend the hainan chicken series here! The chicken is soft and flavorful. Would not recommend the baked series, the fillet fish didn't taste fresh and the pasta wasn't flavorful. The wontons were good with lots of shrimp but the soup was just okay. We also got spareribs for dimsum but half of it was all taro, the xlb was okay not terrible. *they have afternoon sets which is a pretty good deal (1 entree + 1 drink) for $14 Service 4/5 Usual service here, nothing to complain about Ambiance 4/5 It's a little dark inside and not a ton of seating. But a great choice for late night munchies

    My go to place for wontons! I don't know if it's because it's part of the Koi Palace group but their wontons are legit. Bouncy and lots of shrimp flavor!!! The host and the waiters are very nice and friendly. They speak both English and Cantonese. All my friends and family love this place and they said they will come back just for the wontons. So next time you're in Millbrae and looking for a quick lunch, come and eat here!

    Trying out a new spot, for us, and it was a pleasant surprise. The Hainan chicken was good and the soup that came with it was so flavorful! My husband really enjoyed his Sizzling Crispy Chicken Curry. He does wish the curry was a little bit spicier and thicker, but delicious nonetheless. Our friend's Combination Rice came with a drink with the special that is currently ongoing for only $19.99! The tables were a little sticky and the service was a little slow but the server did their best, and that's what matters.

    I got a social media post about daily dinner specials for under $20 and stopped in on a Tuesday to try the Hainan Chicken rice and a side for $14.99 + $3 side dish. I was going to take the order to go so I used a kiosk that was reserved for 2 Go orders. It was easy enough to use the kiosk and there were options to customize your order to take out onions or substitute noodles (rice/egg/flat). I decided to take out the daikon/carrot spicy salad that accompanied the meal because of a pepper allergy and ordered the lettuce with oyster sauce to make up for the loss of veggies. I also decided to try the dim sum special pick 3 for $12.99. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. I had high hopes for this place as I heard it was under the same ownership as Koi Palace. I was disappointed in the hainan chicken as it was bland, rubbery and there was a large bone in my drumstick even though the description said boneless. The rice didn't have much flavor as well as the cabbage. I had to use the sauces to help make the food more tasty. The romaine lettuce only included a few leaves and it appeared to be singed. It also had no aroma and the Oyster sauce just made it very salty. I liked the garlic, scallion oil the best. The soy mai was pretty small, 3 pieces and XLB was pretty mediocre as well. The kiosk advertised a point system to earn discounts and free food but I was told they hadn't set up the program yet.

    First time visit dine in. Previously I had to go order. There are plenty item on the menu. I am craving for wonton noodle soup and hainam chicken rice and my friend suggested to have them here. Illegal order hainam chicken rice with scallion sauce, shrimp wonton noodle soup, drink, wasabi shrimp toast and salty egg fries. They are ok. The wonton is good but the noodle is a bit bland. The soup is light and ok. The hainam chicken rice is ok. I like the scallion sauce. It comes with dipping sauce and it is interesting. Wasabi shrimp toast is a bit hard. Overall they are ok. I don't like on suggested min 18% granularity where there is no much service at all.

    A safe haven from the ridiculous lines at In and Out, consider this a viable alternative with an expansive menu. Har gow - nice portion size. They need to put soy sauce on the table, however. Green beans - plentiful and cooked just right - not too crunchy not too limpy. XLB - skippable. You can tell it's not made to order because the skin sticks to the little Foil wrapping Chicken Ginger soup Hearty and hits the spot even on a hot day. Or even better if you're feeling under the weather. The ginger aromas really pop out to enhance the dish. The kitchen closes at about 2:30 and they were nice to accommodate us and let us know ahead of time for last call,etc. That's all.

    This unassuming spot was perfect for a casual group dinner! It's in a strip mall, and it wasn't busy. But the dumplings were great! We enjoyed Sapporo beers and a lot of Sui Mai, soup dumplings, chicken and rice and other dishes. The ambiance is minimal, so don't expect a vibe but do expect tasty casual dining.

    It's amazing that it's been six years since my 1st and only visit. We were planning to have lunch a few blocks away at the dumplings and noodle place but they were closed for a few days. Originally pivoting to another lunch rotation spot down the road on 101 South, I suggested coming here to minimize the travel time before our next errand. Arriving around 11:30 am, we were fortunate to park in a handicap space just a few steps away as my friend has a blue placard. There was no one at the greeting station at first but a young lady quickly asked us how many in our party. Noticing that my friend was using a walker, she offered the table nearest the iPad check in stand. We were given three menu sheets, one being a two-sided regular menu while the other two were specials. I liked that specials were offered and I noticed the menu was larger than I remember. The ha gao was slightly oversteamed as the skin on one of the two that I had stuck to the bamboo steamer. The claws (or chicken feet as I normally refer to them) were perfect as the collagen fell off the soft bones once I put mine in my mouth. My friend did not read the menu carefully when we ordered and pointed to the Hainan chicken rice noodles instead of the rice plate that she wanted. She still enjoyed it and I may try that on my next visit. I am glad that we stopped here as it saved on our travel time as we had a few more errands to run this afternoon. The two gals who helped us were efficient and helpful as we were in and out of the restaurant in less than an hour. The dining room was half full and stayed about the same with customers coming and going. I would return if in the neighborhood for a quick bite. Do note that parking can be challenging especially during peak times since In & Out is just a few paces away and their drive thru line flows towards here.

    Stopped by here on a Wednesday afternoon and didn't have to wait too long :) Stick & Steam has a cozy ambience, like somewhere you would go if you wanted a home-y meal. I had two orders of the variety XLB's as well as the Egg Yolk Lava bun. Everything was so fresh and made to order! Loved the flavors of the XLB's and appreciate that the skin was the right balance of thickness. Staff members were also very attentive and polite. Will definitely stop by again :)

    Came here specifically for dim sum and ordered the XLB trio, regular XLB, pork siu mai, pork ribs with black bean sauce, pan-fried dumplings, sizzling string beans, plus the deep-fried octopus and salted egg yolk fish skin. Starting with the XLB: they were decent and had a good amount of soup inside, but the wrappers were on the thicker side, which took away from that delicate texture you usually expect. The filling was mild and could have used more seasoning. The XLB trio was fun to sample for variety, but none of the flavors really stood out enough to be memorable. The pork siu mai were standard. Tender, but somewhat bland and forgettable. The pork ribs with black bean sauce were probably the highlight of the meal: nicely sauced, savory, and fairly tender. The pan fried dumplings had a good crispy bottom, though the filling itself was pretty basic. The sizzling string beans were garlicky and flavorful, but on the oily side. The deep-fried octopus had a nice crunch on the outside, but the inside was a bit chewy, and the seasoning was light. The salted egg yolk fish skin was rich and crispy, with that creamy-salty flavor you expect, but it became heavy after a few bites. Portion sizes were reasonable for dim sum, though some dishes felt a little pricey for the quality. Food came out at a steady pace. The space is modern and clean, but nothing especially cozy or standout. Overall, Stick & Steam is okay if you're nearby and craving dim sum, but it didn't leave a strong impression. I'd be open to coming back to try their traditional Hong Kong style selections, since those might be more in their wheelhouse. For now, a solid but average experience.

    Not good at all. Ordered the combination baked rice. The order came on to the table 5 minutes after I ordered. Pork cutlet and fish cutlet was deep fried but cold. The rice was lukewarm instead of hot. The jasmine green tea with crème I ordered was nasty. They put condensed milk to the drink. It just tastes off. Won't be back.

The name change (signage) and menu will change when the business license is approved and new menus bearing the new business name are printed. They did add the 'New SF' prefix the name to distance themselves. Coming here on a Saturday after making dinner reservations on a late Saturday afternoon, I saw a number of familiar faces immediately. Half of their staff are from the Monterey Blvd. Won Kok Restaurant. This was my 1st time dining here in likely close to thirty years when it was another restaurant. Back to our meal, we were seated at the far end corner of the restaurant, prime location for spacing and restroom access. In crafting our menu, my friend chose several staple dishes from their original location; besides those, my friend was gifted a Bay-caught halibut so I asked the restaurant for suggestions in cooking it. The chef suggested cooking it two-ways. I knew the captain from his two previous restaurants (20+ years) and he guided us. Here's what we ate (family style): 1. Steamed surf clams with garlic and vermicelli noodles (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=lPyTuWkX4RoUtP-3fZ2UiA) - These were served in two halves on each plate (four plates for eight shells) for our party of eight. Tasty, flavorful, and fresh as their flagship location in San Francisco. 2. Soy sauce supreme seasoned prawns, 2.5 lbs (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=wYtIFMiiYTuhOa_CmggLrQ) - I actually requested "West Lake" shrimp but was subbed out by this. This was good, just not what we wanted and expected and definitely pricier. 3. It was done well as you'd expect from the most famous R&G chef to go through their kitchen. 4. Sauteed pea sprouts with garlic (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=GDqjVZCqWnGvZ68sbHjqCw) - Pretty standard version and the pea sprouts were cleaned and trimmed well without any inedible or chewy pieces. 5. Pan fried pork spare ribs with soy sauce (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=x3xQew_Es07lW2dPJwB7BA) - This was the captain's recommendation and it was good but didn't stand out in any particular way. The ribs are cut into bite sized pieces and flash fried. 6. Simmered beef stew & turnip with pepper in broth (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=CAg60fXr0CfXtrcPVm2kEQ) - One of the signature dishes from the chef's days on Kearny Street that he continued at his Monterey Blvd. location. The portions are certainly enough for our large party as a family style dish. The broth is definitely the star and, for me, the radish (daikon). 7. Steamed halibut with black bean sauce (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=amzaLddp_H2vdSGzrKyYfQ) - The size of the fish made this tricky as, when the captain tried to remove the bones in serving, we learned that the fish was not fully cooked. He brought it back to the kitchen and they cooked this to a perfect cooking temperature. The flavors were nice and the black bean sauce didn't overpower the fish. 8. The food is consistently amazing. The green onion pancakes, salt and pepper tofu, and fried rice are absolutely delicious every single time. You can tell everything is made with care. On top of that, the entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming. They treat us like family, and that's why we keep coming back after all these years. This place met everything I was looking for: plenty of parking (inside Burlingame Plaza), near SFO, efficient service, and high ratings. When my daughter and I arrived a little before 5:30pm, they were already pretty full. By the time we left, a little after 6pm, there're people waiting at the door. We got seated right away. Service was minimal. We helped ourselves to the pitcher of water on the table. After looking at the menu on the table, we placed our order by scanning a QR code. Since we're not too hungry. We ordered one appetizer and one noodle dish to share. The special mix salad came pretty quickly. We ordered "less spicy", and it had the perfect amount of heat. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the dish had a bit of everything we wanted to try. I liked the tofu skin the best, and my daughter loved the crunchy cucumber. It would be even better if they included lotus roots as well. It took a little while for the house special beef noodle soup (less spicy) to arrive, but it was totally worth the wait. It came piping hot. The broth was very flavorful, with the right amount of red pepper. It wasn't oily at all. The beef was super tender. I loved the texture of the noodles, and the beef to noodle ratio was not bad. A really solid dish. Would love to come back again to try their other dishes, especially their xiao long bao.
