This was our second time here specifically for the bottomless mimosas. We ordered the Steak and Eggs, stuffed french toast, and the chilaquiles. The place seemed short staffed both times and it took a while for the food to get to us, although the server was really kind and apologetic. When the food finally did come the steak and eggs were really Salty and cold, the stuffed french toast was two pieces that seemed really well done and there was no stuffing or fruit anywhere. The chilaquiles were dry and there was barely any salsa, there was more sour cream than salsa. The total for everything came out to $92 and thats after they took off one of the entrees out of the bill. We were extremely disappointed about the place, we had a similar experience the first time but then at least the food was better. The extra star goes to the server who helped us out. Restaurant used to be incredible. Under new management and with the new menu it is not good. Burgers made our party of 4 sick when we all ordered the new version of the sticks burger. it was so greasy the grease was pooling on our plates and ran down my elbows personally. We didn't finish them. We were disappointed to see the fries have been completely changed as well (and overcooked). The service was slow for it not being a busy time of day. We were regulars at sticks and now we have taken back the recommendation to everyone we had the pleasure to share it with. Also there is no changing station in either of the restrooms. read more

We are new to Henderson and I came across a review of Sticks on the We are Henderson FB page. We are in search of an awesome sports bar for our upcoming football season and we walked in and we instantly loved it! The ambiance, vibe and quick attention from the bar staff and servers was amazing. The young lady that started our drinks and took our food order was detail oriented and answered any questions we had regarding food and beer. We moved to a table and she was more than accommodating. She set us up with condiments, roll ups and proper plate ware. Our food came out and a very nice gentleman named KR came to check on us. He's actually the Sous chef and he gave us a brief history on the tavern and spoke passionately about food and the guest experience. We cannot wait to go back and have our friends with us for football games! I had the fish and chips and they were excellent! The pizza was nice and crunchy as well! Love rainbow club and emerald island downtown. Tried this place. It I guess the 4 other players where more important than 2 new people walking in with 2 bartenders. Waited 8 minutes only lost a few bucks before I was told I cannot smoke in place. Ok. Put it out. Still no asking if I want a drink. Still no ask from 2 bartenders if we wanted drinks. I stated I know why your reviews are horrible. I was told by the guy bartender he only spends his time on players. Was not even given a chance. Just treated horrible. Our server this evening was Lauren, I just wanted to come on here to say she was very tentative to our presence and recommended a great cocktail that actually tasted amazing! Terrible experience tonight. They weren't busy. My husband ordered a mushroom burger and they were out of mushrooms. He changed his order. I ordered a Ruben, their signature sandwich and after about 15 minutes, they came out and told us they had no sauerkraut. I changed my order and they went to the kitchen and picked up my husbands dinner and brought it out. I sat there with no food while his got cold waiting for my dinner to be made. Called them on the day and was told I would get a call back since the manager was too busy cooking, but received no call back. I called a second time, asked for a manager and talked to Jerry who said he would investigate and get back to me. Again no call back and no refund. Recently visited Sticks for the first time on a visit to the Las Vegas area from northern Nevada. I enjoyed my two visits there immensely. The ambience and service were especially noteworthy. The staff/servers and management were friendly, helpful and skilled. The food, drinks, and dining experience were delightful. The food is awful, just awful. The menu makes no sense. The food comes out of the deep fryer completely hammered. The poutine was as cold as a stone, which makes for a less-than-pleasant, gelatinous experience. Everything was overcooked and then left to get cold in the window. When we complained about the food and asked that it be taken away, there was no offer to remove the food from our bill even though we had eaten almost none of it. Our server did offer to get us something else, but given that we were 0/3 on menu items, I didn't want to wait around to see how they screwed up a sandwich. This experience ensured that we would never return, which is unfortunate as I like to support locally owned businesses. Ugh. Just ugh. read more

So first visit. I guess they can't handle crowds. Ordered food at 7pm and checked with the waitress 3x with promises of it being next. Finally at 8 just told her to settle our drink bill and then she informed us it would be another 15 min for an appetizer of chicken tenders and a sandwich. Unacceptable. Was more concerned with serving drinks vs food. People that arrived after us got served.....maybe it was the waitress? If I could give it less than 1star I would....response from owner below. BTW, you did not pick up the drink tab you took off one beverage. I suppose we should be grateful? Did you see the part about others coming in after us and being served. So came a few weeks ago to check it out and watch a football game. We walked in and there was a wedding reception going on which I thought was a weird place for that, but found out it was somebody related to the owner or something like that so...totally understandable. Although we were worried they were not going to be playing the sound for the game but they finished just before it game time. I had looked online at their drink menu before coming and I saw that they had my favorite beer Victory Golden Monkey and even when we got there it was on the menu but then when asking our server she said they don't have it anymore that they haven't updated their menu... that was disappointing. Service was good, but as for food... I got a chicken sandwich that was pretty good and my husband had a steak salad that was decent. Fries were not good In our opinion so we ordered a side of ranch to make them better but I don't know what they use to make their ranch, but it was AWFUL. Not ranch at all. We even mentioned it to our server because I don't even see how anybody could like it. It tasted like it was made from yogurt and some herbs. We were warned that from our family that had also been there before that they didn't have the best food but we wanted to give it a try. Also their wings are only fried battered wings. They should offer both styles. So I would love to say that we'll be back but we probably won't. read more

It's been a very long time since I went down to Water Street; having spent most of my life living near downtown LV there's never really been a reason to make that drive. Over the past year or so I started hearing impossible rumors - "Old Henderson is actually pretty cool, Water Street is like the Arts District a few years ago, you've got to go check it out!" When I heard a tavern was coming to Water Street from the team that ran To Be Frank, a ghost kitchen near downtown that made killer hot dogs and a potato salad that I would fight someone for, I decided it was time to finally go and see if the rumors were true. This isn't a review of Water Street but let me say that yes, the rumors are true, old Henderson is actually pretty cool. There are great bars and restaurants all run by locals, no big chain restaurants. Like the Arts District a few years ago (sadly not today) you can find parking, you don't have to make reservations, and you won't be surrounded by young and obnoxious tourists who are much better looking and richer than you. On to Sticks Tavern. What sets this place apart from many sports bars in town is that they appreciate what a sports bar should be, but are willing to put in the effort to improve and build on that foundation. A sports bar should have chicken wings - many of them buy frozen chicken wings that go directly into the fryer, and pour some sauce on them straight out of a bottle. Sticks Tavern uses Mary's chicken, brines them for 12 hours, and makes their own sauces. A sports bar should have "mozzarella sticks" - usually they're just pieces of string cheese that are breaded and frozen at the factory. Sticks Tavern makes theirs by hand and uses Oaxaca Cheese because it is similar to but tastes better than string cheese and works really well in this form. The cocktails on the menu are what you'd expect to see at a sports bar, but they're very well made and the ingredients are quality. I got really into mixing drinks at home during the pandemic, so I tend to notice now whether a bar has fresh citrus and whether they've got a liquor selection that indicates some thought was put into it, and Sticks passes that test where a lot of sports bars do not. Try the Pina Colada. It's over ice rather than blended and it's fantastic. But the real standout at Sticks Tavern is the rotisserie oven. These are a staple in many parts of the west coast, but don't seem to have gotten very popular in Las Vegas yet. The rotisserie chicken and veggies are delicious, and they use the scraps to make an amazing gravy that goes over fries for their poutine. I asked the owners and they promised me that the menu will soon include the items from To Be Frank, so I look forward to getting into fist fights over potato salad in the very near future. read more

Not sure how this place managed to get four and a half star rating! Went with the family after a hockey game. They were out of 2 different beers requested, then they were "out" of orange slices from their full bar for our blue moons, most of the food we ordered were things that seemed as if they were just microwaved and taken out. Not much selection off the menu. Bad bar food... BAR FOOD and the service was very average at best, nothing welcoming, friendly or special. Just go to a chili's if you want a drink and food fast with the family or even better "Biscuits and Bourbon" in the area is delicious!! Oh yeah it's not kid friendly either they don't even have normal lemonade, and they kids didn't even like the basic bar food. Just pass on going if you're thinking about it. read more

Water Street gets another great bar and eatery! I'm so glad to see Sticks open and running. The owners of this tavern have found a great location to serve its local fan base, situated in the heart of downtown Henderson. The menu is short, smart and well thought out. The quality of their ingredients elevate typical bar food to another level, including house made potato croquettes, Oaxacan cheese sticks, poutine, and a sharable rotisserie chicken meal. These poor employees and customers. No bottled water, No actual silverware. I ordered a "stix" burger and clearly in the menu description it says lettuce tomato and onion, and I recieved a nasty greasy discusting looking burger with no condiments, so I asked the bartender for the lettuce and tomato and she brings out a pre packaged little boat that had wilted lettuce tomato and onion. I lifted the bun to see if the burger was edible and all I seen were what looked like the scraps that were scraped off the grill. I got up and left. If this place would serve decent food the employees might have a chance of making a decent living. What a joke. This is another great eatery on Water St. We tried the wings and cheese sticks. Both were delicious and fried to Golden perfection! The beer was cold and delish, too. They have a good selection of bottled and tap brews. We will definitely be back to try the rotisserie chicken. Service was awesome, as well.
