My boyfriend and I were visiting our favorite beach town for our 15 year anniversary, and I must have hit this coffee shop up at least 3 times in our 2-day stay. The coffee is perfect, not burnt or bitter, and they offer several gluten free pastry options that I can eat. I didn't love the Lemon Poppyseed coffee cake, but the Energy Bites were delicious! Seriously the best specialty coffee place with awesome scones and sandwiches! The Salted Caramel Mocha and the Soy Caramel Macchiato were amazing! Cute little bakery where you can watch the bakers work. All the pastries I tasted were good and so was the coffee. Only downside was they said the baguettes would just be a few minutes and then it turned out it was a 40 min wait! Wish I could have had a fresh baguette, but I enjoyed the bagel I got instead. read more

We haven't been to Pacific City since they were remodeling the cafe. Well done! We were impressed, coffee was surprisingly good and scones were fresh and delicious. We took our coffee to go, so no idea about dining in, but overall we had a great experience. Prices are high but as to be expected in a tourist town. Will be back for our vacation coffee! read more

Talk about overpriced. The coffee was good, but I would hope so for $5.50 for a 16 oz. I ordered the sneaker wave and it was delicious. I will never go back though. I ordered two drinks and two breakfast sandwiches and the total was $26! What a joke! read more

Was staying in the area so Stimulus became our coffee stop. Enjoyed my Cafe Au Lait and my friend seemed to enjoy her Iced Latte. Stimulus also had a nice assortment of breakfast pastries, I had the coffee cake and found it good. Some of the girls working were friendly, others looked annoyed, so it was hit or miss depending on what time I went. Grab a seat near the window and watch the comings and goings from the beach. This place is usually pretty good, but today it was not. The service was pretty good, except for one extremely rude barista, and we could not figure out which order was ours. When we tried to figure it out, the rude barista said "I don't know. I don't call out the orders" and then rudely walked away. We got a veggie brioche when we actually ordered a sausage and egg brioche, and we still hadn't gotten our coffee of the day. Granted this place was busy, but these baristas could've been more efficient with the orders, and could've written names on orders instead of calling out the item and hoping the right person would pick it up. read more

We had a great coffee experience here today. Ordered up two 16 oz lightly flavored 'wet' capuchinos. They were very good. Split a big cookie between us and it was good but we were there to try the coffee. The Stumptown coffee was pretty good tasting and we also bought a bag of beans to try out on our espresso machine at home. Nice place. Friendly folks. WiFi. They said they were better than Starbucks and Dutch bros and for me they've earned it! The yogurt parfait is an excellent combination of the right amount of fresh, premium granola on top of really good yogurt. I asked for a "surprise me" latte and the baristas entertained the notion and "kept it hidden" from me so it was truly a surprise. Pumpkin I think - excellent and unusual, just what I wanted! That combined with an excellent view, quiet atmosphere, clean location with super fresh-looking bakery items (I am so tempted) make Stimulus in my opinion a better location than Starbucks or Dutch Bros! Stimulus cafe is one of the many things I look forward to when I come to Pacific City. You can't go wrong with the beautiful view of the ocean, the entertainment of the surfers, and a great cup of coffee. I wish I could start every morning is this cafe. The ppl complaining about the staff being heavy handed on the syrups, should know not every barista makes the drinks the same and you need to ask for a certain amount of pumps. read more

Great location, free wifi, and fantastic view of the pacific ocean. The staff is friends and service is fast. Plenty of places to sit and read, study or lounge while sipping a chia tea or fresh pressed coffee. The music appropriate for a coffee shop and not too loud. At the level that one can listen to if they want or have in the background while talking (how can one go wrong with Bob Dylan?). The only bad thing I can say about this place is that it is so far away from where I live or it would be my new hangout. Just a note it is open from 6am till 6pm M-Sun. read more

My husband and I visit the area about four weeks a year and Stimulus is our go to spot for breakfast and morning coffee. The place is clean, staff is super friendly and helpful, the coffee and atmosphere good. The view? You can't beat it. I like to see the ever changing artwork and the seating area is comfortable. Favorite Beverages: Drip coffee and a regular latte. Not so much: Salted Mocha (something like that). Favorite Pastries/Desserts: cakes, bagels, quiche, pecan rolls. What the hell happened to stimulus? My favorite place anywhere. Today 5 staff behind bar. No one in line. Just me. Not one of them could focus on my drink cause they were busy talking about dogs. Gal at register taking order had an attitude with every request. Guy making drink making sea salt moca. No salt. He says it's in there. Got sweet muffin. Looked at sample with think frosting. Gave me one with barely any. Said something. They're all like that she says. I say sample wasn't. Walked back by and they had replaced sample with barely frosting one. Like I wouldn't notice. We haven't been here in about a year, and when we walked in today we noticed the expansion. We looked up at the menu and immediately saw that the wonderful signature drinks, like The Sneaker Wave and 3 Capes Mocha, were no longer options. This was very disappointing because we dreamed about these all week before our trip. Now they have the same old options you can get at any Portland espresso stand. Stimulus is the best coffee shop in Pacific City, but as it is really the only coffee shop in town it's not hard to do. The staff are really nice and friendly, but don't come in with a attitude because they deal with tourists all day and that gets old quickly. If you don't know what you want just ask the manager Dan or Holly and they will make you something fabulous. Every time I'm in town I love going in there grabbing something hot or cold and enjoying the view of the Cape. In winter I recommend the Mexican Hot Chocolate or Apple Cider in the summer a fruit smoothy on the beach is perfect. read more

Super Location! Lot's of seating options and THE BEST Coffee drinks in Pacific City hands down. But there is a price for those things... I guess the old "you get what you pay for" strikes again, because the prices here are really high especially for the food. Spectacular looking coffee! For "stay in" service, your coffee creations are incredible - with mountains of whip cream, chocolate and other crazy toppings! Treats are available as well and the coffee itself is tasty. Some outside seating as well as inside - if it was super busy seating could be an issue, but we've never been there at a time we couldn't sit somewhere. Phenomenal coffee and pastries and an even better view. This is a must-visit location if you are coming to Pacific City. The iced americanos are particularly good! Wifi is pretty fast and the service has always been friendly. I was camping nearby and came upon this awesome place. First, they have lots of great stuff that you can only get in the Pacific Northwest. Straw Propeller and Umpqua Oats many varieties (most very tasty you should try them), Hot Lips soda from Oregon, great bread from the Pelican Pub. They also have stuff that I like-organic milk, izze sodas and a wide selection of baked goods, they also have breakfast sandwiches and lunch sandwiches (I didn't have any sandwiches so I can't vouch for those. Coffee-yum (and the reason I stopped in before and after my hike) haystack mocha-awesome, salted caramel mocha awesome. Oatmeal-awesome Selection of things to eat and drink awesome They have seating that looks out over ocean and they have books you can buy and read. Even better they open at 6am! Close at 6pm! So you can go before and after your days plans and they were open on Thanksgiving. If I am ever out on that part of the coast again I will be back-don't change anything!
