The service was very good even though we had a large eight person group. They were very attentive and offered helpful suggestions on the menu. The food was very eclectic, considering it has a diner atmosphere. We try the pastrami spring rolls which didn't seem very crispy nor cooked properly. The pastrami rice was also a little bit unusual but more tasty. The seasoned Cajun fries were just heavily dusted with creole spices. The pretzel rolls were good, but also a little dry. Most of the burgers were fine but needed the variety of sauces. The sushi rolls were a little bland and didn't taste very fresh. Most of the burgers were $20! In fact, the sashimi was $45 for only nine pieces. Seems pretty pricey for what they deliver! I have had to drop the rating on this place. They must have changed the chef and have came back multiple times hoping they will get the food right again. The burgers used to be absolutely amazing. The meat, the hot dogs, the chicken fingers were all awesome and cooked just right. Now the flavor is gone, the hot dogs are sometimes burnt, the burger asked to be cooked medium is more like medium well to well done. The service is great though. The bartenders, the waiters, all provide great friendship, service and conversation, but the kitchen needs their old chef back or a better one. read more

Biggest mistake ever to come to this place. It is dirty at first glance, no service at all. I went to the restroom and for a second I thought I was in JFK. The food is low quality, uneatable, burned, oily and tasteless. 18% gratuity is automatically added to the bill which explains the careless waiter's attitude. My only question is ...WHY?!? Came here with my boyfriend and one of his friends, and from the start it was a disaster. We sat at the bar for the USA/Portugal and it was not crowded, but for some reason it took 15 minutes to receive menus. Everyone working in this place had an attitude and acted like their lives were beyond miserable. We asked the waitress what was on tap and she fired back with "I need to see everyone's IDs". I have NO problem showing my ID, but seriously there are nicer ways to ask, trust me I'm also a bartender. Back and forth we heard employees complaining about the people they were waiting on in ear shot of other patrons. One even asked when she herself could start drinking. I ordered chicken fingers which were slimy, our friend ordered the chili which was dry, and my boyfriend ordered a burger which came out 15 minutes after my friend and i got our food. We couldn't wait to pay the bill which was a hassle to get since the bartender forgot about us and began ignoring us after our food was served. The MOST upsetting part was that we were forced to pay 18% gratuity on a 3 person bill which we were NOT informed about and was NOT on the menu. This place needs John Taffer's help if it wants to be considered a bar. If it wasn't for us being forced to pay gratuity we would not have left a tip. Shame on this place!!!!!! read more

The place was quiet (it may not be season). Décor was very upscale, background music was elegant. They had plenty of waiters. Food arrived very fast. The food was tasty and presented elegantly. Bill for two including tip was $105.00. We had appetizers (spring rolls with stuffed vegetables for me, large greens salad for my wife), hanger steak (for both) a few types of salads and sides, and tea and wine. They have a nice wine menu by the bottle and a limited (but still decent) wine list by the glass. Note, our review is for 656 Ocean not for Stingers Burger Bar. Huge TVs playing sports full bar. awesome food. came here a bunch of times when i was bored and needed something fun to do, Great place to come with friends and family its a Sushi-bar/Burger-Bar/Sports-Bar. i had a really good time here. would recommended it to everyone!! its that good. chicken finger at 100! We went to the fancy extension of Stingers- 656 Ocean. It was horrendous. Our food came out 1-by-1, so that we literally each ate individually. We arrived at 7:30 and didn't get out until 10:30! They completely messed up 2 orders and charged us for all food despite the mess-ups. While the waitress was friendly and the cocktails were great, I would strongly recommend against the place in the summer. Perhaps off-season will treat you better. read more

Epic failure!!! The food was atrocious and cold and the service was equally awful. The burger was tasteless and cold, the fries tasted like frost bites and their schnitzel was disgusting, soggy and old. We also ordered, on the recommendation of the server, the pulled beef burger, which was dipped into a poor quality BBQ sauce and dumped on a tasteless burger. The soba bun on which they served the burger was taken out of the freezer shortly before being served to us, and had likely been sitting in the freezer for several months. The service was just as bad. It took us 45 minutes to get our food when the restaurant was not packed. During the wait, it there were no waiters to be found on the floor. I am APPALLED by this place. I went to this "bar" on Thursday with my book club thinking it would be a nice night with the girls. WRONG. It is Saturday evening and I am still very very dizzy and extremely delusional and sick from having ONE tequila pineapple. My question is- what is in these drinks? Aside from becoming ill from the drinks, i was not treated nicely entering the joint. The bouncer id'ed me (I am a 59 year old woman!! I have two kids, and a cat old enough to go to the bar) and he had the nerve to tell me I couldn't go in because I was wearing boots. I retorted, "i am an old woman, what do you expect me to wear??" If you keep kosher, Stingers offers a unique dining experience. There aren't many kosher sports bars out there so Stingers is probably your only choice within 100 miles if you want a glatt burger and the Jets game. Bar has all the basics of what you would expect to see at a typical sports bar; no craft beers. Food is ok, stick to the basics and you should enjoy it. Service can be slow, even bordering on frustratingly slow so have a few drinks and calm your nerves while you wait. read more

This place is terrible It says $8 on the menu for the kids burger but on the bill it said $12 and on the menu it said free drinks and ice cream. I asked for a drink and the guy gave it to me saying nothing I get the bill and it says $12+$6+$3 when the bill should be 10$ for the burger. then the guy said ok fine and said get the hell out of here!!!!! No one should step a foot in this place!!!!!!!!!!! Unless you want garbage. read more

I arrived here one Sunday night for a friend's birthday and it was swamped. The staff could not keep up with the people! We had to ask for menus and we were forgotten in the back of the establishment. Until we asked for the manager we did not receive any water or the traditional popcorn that is served. Our group continued to wait for our orders for over an hour. Either hire more people or close the whole place. I'm so disappointed and frustrated with Stinger's. Never again! read more
