I was here a few weeks ago for a Studio Ghibli mini concert. It was quite lovely to listen to some music while eating some ice cream. They had other snacks and drinks, but my friend and I opted for some ice cream. The ice cream wasn't anything to rave about. Service was also okay nothing to point out. I shared a bubble egg waffle with my partner and it was the perfect size for the two of us. There were plenty of ice cream flavors to choose from, but we decided on cookies n cream, a flavor you can never go wrong with. The wait time for the waffle took longer than I expected, but it was all worth the wait. The waffle was served hot, while the ice cream was cold, so there was this delightful temperature contrast. Cool spot serving up solid drinks and ice cream. Location is easily accessible as it's located on a big plaza. Finding a parking spot should be a problem. Cute little cafe in the SGV area. There are a few tables good for groups and for studying. The interior and furniture gives this place a nice cozy, vibe. The music was present and played at a comfortable level. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk. This was pretty good! I really appreciated the smooth and earthiness of the matcha while also tasting the fresh cut strawberries at the bottom. I would order again. My husband ordered the Hojicha Latte iced with oat milk. First time coming here! Nice amount of seating inside was the first thing I noticed. Two communal tables plus a couple other tables and some couch seating. Came here to journal and draw and Hop Cafe offered a nice space to do so. The interior felt very warm and inviting but the the ambiance was a little off because they had some odd music playing - it sounded like music from an action movie haha. The volume was pretty low too and since people were mostly working, it felt like you could hear a pin drop. Since they have jazz nights weekly I thought maybe their music vibes would be more jazzy/bossa nova/chill so that caught me off guard haha. Maybe bring headphones. For the drinks- I got an iced matcha latte with oat milk and asked for it half sweet. I wasn't expecting much - sure, the SGV is filled with places that serve matcha, but most make it poorly... or too sweet... or use bad quality matcha. BUT LISTEN, this place makes good matcha!! The matcha is smooth and not bitter. It's on the lighter side for flavor and it had a beautiful green color. Definitely one of the top places I've found for matcha in the SGV. They make the waffles fresh so it takes longer than ordering a drink, but needless to say, the aroma from it makes you eagerly wait for the order. Love the interior here, plenty of seating, very much a hangout vibe cafe, very cabin like & very clean. My partner and I both love hot/cold type combo of food and this was the perfect choice. The egg waffle is presented nicely in a round cup with a scoop of ice cream of your choice, we decided on cookies & cream which was the perfect choice to balance the flavors. The egg waffle itself is very soft and very much a shareable order, highly recommend to add ice cream, can even go for a double scoop. I placed my order online, hoping everything would be ready by the time I arrived--but that wasn't the case. When I walked in, I was told the bubble waffle was still being made. The bubble waffle was okay--I actually prefer the version from Happy Lemon. It's crispier on the outside and has a much better aroma. The matcha was strong, but not very smooth. Came by with some friends and got some drinks. It's located in the shopping plaza by the CVS. The last time I was here, it was a different tea shop chain (ChaTime), so it's been a while. I spoke with the friendly owner and he said that he opened this back in December 2024, kept the name of the cafe, but rebranded the shop and changed the decor. I love the bunny logo, the yellow and the music themed decor (vinyl records on display!) and the cozy vibes with the cozy seating. He said they have jazz nights as well, so a great place to hang or have a date night if you want to listen to some music on a Saturday evening! Their current seasonal special is the Raspberry Matcha latte, he said he makes the raspberry jam himself (so it's limited quantity - giving me Meghan Markle vibes....lol), and he uses ceremonial grade matcha, so I had to try it - It's super good! Hop Cafe (est 2025) is brand new little coffee/tea go-to spots for students, creatives, and caffeine lovers alike. It's tucked away in a midsize plaza on Las Tunas ave in Arcadia. Entering this cafe is like you're transported back into your chill basement with leather couch and jazz records for amusement. I visited on a warm Memorial weekend to check-them out. I liked their set up and relaxing atmosphere. And the fact that they have live Jazz on weekends and I like Jazz this was truly deserve a star in my book. I perused their interesting albeit modest drink and snack menu. I had a cold Orange Tea x Popcorn chicken. Did I liked them? My drink was decent; ppc snack was atrociously salty but soft and flavorful. (I end up disposing 1/2 of the snack). If there were consolation it would be their prices were competitive, free wifi, ample of parking and good service. Overall, I am reticent to recommend those items but will give other drinks a try. I really want to like this place but it was pretty disappointing. It's my first time here. I was excited to see they have cold brew white peach oolong tea so I had to order that and of course add boba. I did 75% sweetness level on my drink and the flavor came out exactly like what I prefer. However, I would rate their boba 1.5/5 stars. It was one of the toughest bobas I've ever had. Much sadness there. My sister ordered their strawberry jasmine tea half sweet and it honestly tasted like 100% sweet. Definitely way too sweet for my taste. We even asked them to make sure they did do 50% sweet, which they confirmed. The layout of the cafe was a bit strange a well. It looked like there's an area where musicians probably play at some point. No one was playing when we were there but they put "reserved" signs on those chairs. In front of that section, there were a bunch of chairs but they were all clustered together in a way where customers can't use the chairs to sit down. Personally I feel like it was wasted space, especially since those who are ordering their drinks to go were pretty much stuck standing in front of the counter. I can't even imagine how it would have been like if there was actually a line of people ordering when we went considering it took them over 15 minutes for our drinks with no line and also two workers preparing drinks. I'm not sure if I'll be back but it does seem like it can be a nice space for those who want to come study if you are lucky enough to snag one of the few tables they have available. read more

Hojicha latte: I was hesitant of getting this at first because I wasn't sure if this was called a latte for having coffee or that's just a name and it's a milk tea. When I asked the server what the drink consisted of and if it has coffee, he had to ask another employee to double check and responded "it's just Hojicha tea and milk." So one star less for that. I asked for 75% sweetness and it was perfect! They have whole milk and only oat milk as the non-diary alternative. Wish they had soy milk as an option but oat milk did go well with the latte! Service- 5 star I walked in, not having a clue what they serve served, but I was waiting on a prescription and didn't wanna go home and come back. Tea was amazing. I got a jasmine passionfruit half sweet. I'm definitely going back for that. I live around the corner. They're gonna see me there multiple times a week. This is my first time having Japanese curry, so I don't have a base of reference, but that was really really sweet for me and I doubt that I would get it again. The rice was really nice. Upon arrival at Hop Cafe, I saw a very bright yellow gleaming from the inside out. I was intrigued by it. When I got closer, I was like, What do we have here? Thoughts were going through my head as to what the cool yellow wall and music themed decor represented. It looked like a music studio. But it's not, it's a cafe that sells snacks, drinks, and ice cream. It has quite a hip hoppity ambiance! I loved it! The lady staff (Christina) was very friendly and nice. She offered her recommendations on drink choices. Thank you miss! I ended up with 4 drinks. They were all delightful. Tea flavor was on point. Grass jelly was smooth. Agar jelly had good texture and tasted great. My daughters loved the drinks as much as I did. We'll definitely get them again. Such a cute coffee house! Super cozy and I appreciated the lady who was behind the counter. She was the only employee but she was calm, friendly, knowledgeable and super efficient. I got a waffle with a scoop of ice cream (Cookies 'n Cream). The waffle was made to order, very delicious. The ice cream was a little icy not as creamy as it could be. I'm excited to see they serve actual coffee drinks along with a few classic milk tea/boba drinks. They have curry rice and some snack food items you find in boba tea shops (ie popcorn chicken). I also learned they have live jazz on Friday & Saturday evenings around 7 PM. I'm planning on returning to check out the coffee drinks and the live jazz. This is down the street from me. It was a nice study spot, there were outlets and big tables as well as calming music that is playing at all times. The place didn't have too many tables so it was helpful that I was there early. Unfortunately, there was no popcorn chicken the day I was there. The other foods that I had there were really good though. I had the curly fries and they honestly reminded me of Jack in the Box (which is a good thing). The tea drinks were also pretty good with a nice amount of tea flavor.
