They were short staffed on an early Friday afternoon. My small party of 3 had to wait about 20 minutes for seating at the hibachi table. Once seated, things moved along fairly quickly. The staff was fine. The hibachi cook was funny. Food was good. Typical hibachi experience. Side note: I wish Stix would include noodles with the hibachi meal like some of the other local Japanese restaurants.

I hadn't been to this location in years! A group of us (7) came here for dinner for our ladies night... and this place was PACKED! We waited about 15 minutes to be seated at the hibachi grill. Our waitress came right out and took drink orders and returned quickly with the drinks. A couple of ladies ordered apps and cocktails. Those came out pretty quickly and we ordered our entrees. Our hibachi chef was minimally entertaining but we are a lively bunch and nothing more is required for a good time. We enjoyed the "show" and conversation with the couple that shared the grill with us. I ordered a godzilla roll and combo fried rice from the kitchen. My sushi was awesome and my fried rice was hot and filled with meat. There were no complaints from our table. At the end, our waitress was spread thin but the manager came to her rescue and took care of us... they didn't miss a beat. Of course there was no after dinner convo here, because it's an unspoken rule that you eat and move quickly so that another group may be seated at the grill. If you're in Fultondale, and wanting a hibachi experience... I recommend Stix!

    Super cold wine awesome!!!

Bar tender awesome and nice . Zero plugs for your laptop if you are a remote worker so weird!!!! Would never come here again for that reason alone.

We got in and we we're welcome in and told us that waiting time for the hibachi table was 30 minutes so we decided to just go to a regular table. Server was very helpful and was making sure we were taken care of. Food tasted pretty good, I share orange chicken with my mom because portions are large. My husband got the hibachi shrimp and steak and he liked it. The dragon red fire was super cool the presentation and the taste was great too! Dumplings were ok. The only thing is bathrooms floors are very slippery so be careful. Ambience is pretty nice, I noticed that they sing happy birthday if your celebrating.

Chicken app with sauce on the side.

After driving from Norcross, through ATL and finally through Birmingham on the way to Huntsville - successfully navigating through like, a gazillion speed traps, it was a welcome reprieve to relax at Stix. Best friend (BF) and I patiently waited a half hour for them to open at 4:30 and then promptly parked it at the bar. In fact four cars total were waiting for the double doors to open up. The bartender could not have been nicer! He charged up my BF's cell phone while I enjoyed a $5 California rolls off of the bar Happy Hour menu and BF *loved* her Crunchy Shrimp Roll, $5. I think we split an order of Spring Rolls $3.75. (Pictures to follow.) Sweet bartender even allowed me to get a $5 California roll to go for the Hubs. (He served it to me on a plate and then provided a go box for me to place the roll in -- smooth!) Their house wine was good too! I'd noticed Stix before but did not realize it had been there a decade. The bartender said it is one of 3 stores. Nope, I'm wrong, the other stores are in Spanish Fort, AL; Fultondale, AL; Kansas City, KS; and Collierville, TN. Stix is a "hop, skip and a jump" off of I-65 **after** Malfunction Junction and I highly recommend it for a place to chill after a long drive. I noticed they have a nice patio, too, so, when weather permits that will be a nice place to hang!

My God, I thought fine dining had finally died, especially after covid. Current Charcoal Grill is…read morethe first restaurant I've been to in years that still understands and executes on everything that makes eating out enjoyable. The service is *excellent* with a capital "E." We ate at the bar, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and extremely knowledgeable about every single aspect of the restaurant. They have tried everything on the menu themselves. They can describe any one of the imported liquors up on the wall. These are real deal professionals who illustrate just how important the people in a restaurant's front truly are. The food? Delicious. It's a wild grab bag of East Asian fare - Chinese, Japanese, Thai - and it's all done extremely well. The portions are small, which is good, since you'll want to try half a dozen things on Current's very deliberately thought-out menu. The Peking Duck is some of the best I've had. The cocktails are also excellent, with my favorite being a delicious, earthy combination of coconut, lime, and pandan. It's like an extremely upscale tiki drink. I cannot recommend this place enough. Absolutely perfect. 5 stars.

High ceilings and exposed brick are a few of the ways to my heart. If you've seen a post about this place, you've probably seen a picture of the crackly round, artistic dish and wondered what it was. There are dumplings on the underside of it and you break each one off of the crackly part to enjoy. We did enjoy these but I would've loved a soy sauce to dip them in. They came with chili crunch, peanuts, and green onions but I wanted an actual sauce. They were very standard tasting dumplings and there was nothing extraordinary about them unfortunately. As always, we'd looked at the menu beforehand and decided what we wanted. It does state on their website that their menus can change due to freshness and availability. But we'd both decided on an app and entree we wanted only to get there and have none of them on the menu. I do appreciate a rotating menu to accommodate local items, but I would also love for those to be updated on a regular basis. So after rerouting, we decided on the chicken skewers as another app with the dumplings. These were chargrilled, flavorful, and had a nice crust on them. I got shrimp fried rice and Julia got spicy beef noodles. It was fine but I wish the shrimp wouldn't have been cut up. It felt like they chopped them up in order to not put as many in the dish. At $25 for this, I'd like whole shrimp please. There were a few pieces of raw spinach with pepper on the top. I would've loved a sauce of some kind. I would've preferred shrimp hibachi with fried rice from a Japanese place that included vegetables and sauces. This was not *bad* there was just SO much room for improvement. We both agreed that nothing was awful, but for these prices and the hype, we expected more. Our waitress was super friendly. Bonus points because they had match boxes at the host stand! There was a paid parking lot diagonal from the restaurant, so we had to walk through an intersection to get there. There are some spots up front if you can snag one. Overall, we enjoyed our time here but won't be sprinting back.

And of course they had me at poke bowls. It's one of my top 5 things to eat, honestly. But I ordered a Buddha bowl because it's almost the same thing and I felt a little lazy to DIY (not to mention, the Buddha bowl looked tantalizing!) They have other veg options, but I set my sights on that bowl as soon as the friendly counter guy suggested it. It's overloaded with goodness--avocado, deliciously marinated tofu, edamame (yes, it's a protein-rich bowl), tomatoes, shredded carrots, diced cucumbers, greens and more. You're literally devouring the rainbow here, friends. For drinks, they have a modest but decent selection of beer, wine (a decent bubbly in a can!) and sake in addition to soft drinks. The place is so beautiful (and spotlessly clean) with plants dangling from the ceiling and beautiful murals throughout. If I lived in the neighborhood, I'd be here all the time.

My drink order was taken (water) and my server, who answered all of my questions, was very patient and pleasant. For my appetizer, I ordered the spring rolls. They were freshly made and came out hot and crispy. I enjoyed them and would order them again. Now the main course. I opted for the spicy Himalayan chicken, medium heat. I love spicy food, and I thought I was doing the right thing by ordering the medium level. However, it was very spicy! I did notice however, that the longer it sat, the level evened out some. Still, on my next visit, I will try the mild level to compare. The dish was delicious and very flavorful. The white rice added just the right amount of coolness to the chicken and veggies. Upon leaving, I ordered the drunken noodles with chicken in mild. I'm not sure if it's because it's a totally different flavor profile, but the mild has very little spicy. I just can't believe it's that much difference between the mild and medium levels. The drunken noodles were just okay, in my opinion. There was not a lot of juice, spice not flavor in this dish. On my next visit, I will stick with the Himalayan chicken and order it in mild just to test out my theory. The workers were very friendly and came by to check on me and made small talk with all of their customers, including me. I enjoyed my visit and look forward to returning again
