A great yelp find in Paso Robles. Met my son and his girlfriend for wine tasting and a night stay. Dinner reservations were easy to get on a Saturday night with a week's notice. Free parking on the street. Good service, an extensive menu of meat and non meat options. Beer and wine only. The Calamari and Brussels Sprouts apps were delicious. Loved my seafood pasta and wedge salad.

Their Cioppino is my favorite! Consistently good excellent every time I've had it.

Consistency is a hallmark of a great business and especially so in the food industry. The Stokehouse Grill has the best Cioppino that I've had and it's consistently good every time I order it. I hope they never lose their chef because this person understands balance and consistency. If a seafood stew in a tomato base appeals to you, you have to try this. My wife had the coconut crusted halibut which was also very good. Thank you Stokehouse for being a staple that locals and tourists enjoy.

Great service and great food! My husband had wonderful chicken marsala and I had Scallop with gnocchi.

Stoke House Grill is a cozy spot in Paso Robles with really good food and super friendly service. We made reservations and got seated right away. The fried calamari was my favorite, and we also loved the pasta, meat, wine, and desserts. They have a great selection of Paso Robles wines, plus easy parking and a great location. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.

Margarita has a great restaurant and was a lovely server, a quaint little restaurant with a family run charm! Best ribs I have had in a long, long time! They absolutely fell apart and melted like butter in your mouth, the guava BBQ sauce was epic! The truffle mashed potatoes paired perfectly, and tasted like heaven. Great experience and food, HIGHLY recommend!!

Brussels

Stopped by on a random Wednesday for early dinner and my friend and I enjoyed it a lot! We were starving when we got there so we immediately ordered the Brussels app and also the empanadas. The Brussels were SO good we could not stop raving about them! The empanadas were good but not as flavorful as the Brussels in my opinion. My friend got a sparkling wine and it was so crisp and refreshing. Then for dinner she got the margherita flatbread and I had the strawberry salad which I added salmon to. OMG the salad was sooooo good one of my fav types of salads and they killed it! The salmon wasn't my fav tho I would probably get chicken next. If we had more time we prob would have gotten dessert they looked great!! Service was super friendly and nice as well! Sat on the patio which was such a great vibe!

I'm a picky person. I never leave 5 stars but this restaurant was SOOOO GOOOOOD. The service was great. I got the salmon OMG BEST SALMON IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. I'm still dreaming of it. It was PERFECT. Everything worth the price. Tried their steak and pasta too. Genuinely never had a better salmon anywhere else. I miss you stokehouse grill

Hugo's spicy sausage and shrimp pasta

Cute little place on the plaza in Paso. They squeezed us in on New Year's Eve, even though they had many reserved tables. We had a lovely high top by the windows, looking at the lights of the plaza. The service was excellent with our server being very attentive. The food review is mixed in that the Hugo's pasta was delicious, but the coconut curry halibut was just OK. I found the coconut halibut to be a little dry on the edges, and the curry taste was very overpowering. They started the meal with warm bread, which was delicious. We also shared an appetizer of calamari, which was also very good. It was all calamari rings nicely breaded with two sauces. We definitely recommend this restaurant.

Cioppino

This was not really my favorite place to eat during our Paso trip. We looked up early dining options and came across this location. It looked promising, and while it was not bad, it certainly did not come close to The Hatch type of experience. We walked in right when it opened and there was no one else there. Whether that is a good or bad thing, I am not sure. The vibe felt a bit too eclectic. The mix of styles made it hard to understand the overall theme of the restaurant. It was a little cold and very eerily quiet inside with very minimal interactions with the server. I ordered the cioppino, and while I do not expect any place to live up to Phil's Fish Market, (although it was about the same price as Phil's) this just was not what I hoped for. The broth was unusually thick, more like tomato sauce than a traditional broth with random pieces of spinach leaves. It came with two pieces of bread. My husband ordered the pork chop and she asked how he wanted it cooked. I don't think we've ever been asked about how we want a pork chop cooked...just cooked. Although, the sherry glaze was really good!! Overall, it was not a standout experience in terms of food, service or atmosphere, and I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. I probably would not return for dinner. The outdoor area did look nice, but it was not set up and we were not offered the option to sit outside.

A cute restaurant off the square in downtown Paso Robles. But look, I'm just going to say it. This one confused me ha. You look at the menu and try to figure out what they are, and I don't even think they know! Between the decor, music and menu, it was making my head spin. Fusion is where I've landed since you have Mexican, Asian, American and Italian dishes. So good news is everyone will likely find something they like. Better news is the food was FANTASTIC. The bbq ribs were so meaty and tender, they fell right off the bone. The halibut was a massive portion crusted with coconut and covered in beautifully julienned vegetables and curry. One of the best dishes I've had in a while. The two waitresses on staff were so sweet and thoughtful, making the meal an even better experience. Can't say enough good things.

Steak and pork chops!

What a nice hiding spot in downtown Paso Robles. My wife and I are definitely returning to keep exploring their menu. Everything looks so good! We had the pork chops and the steak, both were so delicious and tasty. Desert was also fantastic! We didn't know that the owner was the one taking care of us till she stopped to ask if everything was okay. She's a very down to earth lady, polite and attentive. Please do your self a favor and try their fantastic menu. You won't regret it! Keep up the good work! Angel & Rocio :)

We did family style and ordered the cioppino (garlic bread was sooo good too), pork chop and the shrimp pasta. All were excellent.
Janey L.

My husband listed 3 restaurants he found in Paso and I chose this one. I was a little surprised the restaurant was not more crowded on a Sunday but the whole town seemed a bit quiet today. The food was so so so good! We ordered 3 entrees to share family style and we loved all 3 of them. If I had to vote for one, the shrimp pasta was a must and I would go back again for this dish. Nothing was overly salty and the bread was crisp but not burnt. Service was very friendly and the restaurant was quiet until a family with a little girl came in but we finished our meal and was ready to leave. We will definitely return again!

Still one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Paso Robles! Every time I come here, it ceases to amaze me how not busy this restaurant is for being in the main downtown Paso Square and having such amazing food. Got my irregular chicken, piccata with veggies and potatoes, and it was amazing as usual. My friend got the shrimp pasta, which was a special, and she absolutely loved it! The service is great, and the food always comes out steaming, hot and absolutely delicious! Five stars every time!!

"Disappointing. The potato leek soup had zero texture and a glue-like consistency from being over-blended.

Craft Eatery which is located in downtown Paso across from the park. The ambiance was really nice. Modern and chic. We liked the design. We ordered 3 different things. This is the feedback from my friends after asking how they liked their food. Food: Pacific Rim salad with sriracha chicken. The salad was good but the chicken was dry. Cow tippin sliders - didn't ask how she wanted the meat cooked. Steak came out rare. Which she ate and said was ok but not preferred. She kept referring to the sliders as sliding everywhere between the rare meat and thick tomato slice. I had the Cabo chicken and summer bbq slider. Cabo chicken slider - The chicken was grilled and leaned on the dry side. I liked the chipotle aioli sauce. I didn't like the thick slice of tomato that came on it. Summer BBQ slider - was my favorite. The pull pork was good. My only suggestion is it could have used more bbq sauce on it as it was very little bbq sauce. The sweet potato fries were good and I liked the seasoning on them but a couple of them didn't feel all the way done. Wine - we had a glass of Quest wine and it was amazing. Def recommend this red if you visit. The service could have been better. There were long gaps in between our server checking in on us. But when they stoped by they were nice and split our check which was appreciated. Overall, the food was ok could have been better. The wine was amazing.

My husband never orders chicken out, but on the recommendation of our waiter, he ordered it and was delighted. Best chicken in a restaurant ever. We also had the delicious bacon-wrapped dates and two wonderful salads -- the burrata and the pear and pecan. My main was the mushrooms and scallops pasta. SO good. The waiter recommended a local Chardonnay, so nice that I bought 2 bottles before leaving town. The owner-chef also spent about 15 minutes chatting with us as we were one of the last diners. Of note, we were never given an option for indoor seating when making our reservation nor when we were seated. After ordering, we received our starter (shishito peppers) within 10 minutes. However once we finished the starter we waited an additional 30-40 minutes for our entrees. There was no communication from the wait staff at all, no refills on water, nothing. In fact in the patio dining area I saw three plates of food (including our peppers) delivered to tables in the hour we had been sitting there. Interestingly the wait staff all seemed very busy and moved around the restaurant but not much appeared to get done. Having worked in hospitality previously I have a lot of empathy for the staff as they seemed to lack direction and management support. My husband ordered the mushroom and scallop pasta. It was okay. Overpriced, but was tasty. I ordered the chile relleno and steak. The chile relleno was filled with a large amount of corn that tasted freezer burnt. My steak was thin and grey and overcooked. It was nearly all grey inside with a couple spots of pink. It wasn't seasoned either. The sauces on the plate were good. Our server was polite and did take it off the menu. However, no manager ever came by to check on us or any other table on the patio in the time we were there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews. It was a real let down to have a lackluster food and service experience at "one of the nicest places" in Paso.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and really knowledgeable about the menu. The food was absolutely to die for. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. You can really tell how much care goes into the ingredients and presentation. What truly made the experience special was the owner, Nicole. She is so welcoming. It's rare to find a place where the food, service, and atmosphere are all this good. If you're in Paso Robles, In Bloom is a must. We can't wait to go back!

My wife and I went to In Bloom at the recommendation of our daughters who saw the Michelin…read moredesignation. After going, I debated whether it warranted a 3- or 4-star rating, but I settled on three because the experience was extremely inconsistent and we expected more given the cost and the designation. Here is what we noticed...some good, some not-so-good: - We arrived for a 6pm reservation and were the second couple seated. Shortly thereafter a family of four with two young kids arrived and the host seated them directly next to us even though the entire place was empty. The kids were fidgety and loud (as kids that age can be) so it wasn't too long before we asked to move to another table, which our server happily accommodated. But, I have to ask why a Host would seat all three parties nearly on top of each other when the entire restaurant is empty? - We ordered cocktails to start, and there were several fun cocktails to choose from and the portions were good. The wine list is also pretty extensive. - The Server described the menu as all "sharables", but don't think tapas, think family style dining. After having been there, we decided that we should have skipped ordering a type of main course and stuck to appetizers. That's because the two app/salad type dishes we had were good, while the main dish was a failure. - We started with the Panzanella, which was made special by the fresh tomatoes. After that, we had the Tempura Cauliflower, which was really well seasoned...it was the highlight of our entire experience. We then shared the Pachamama Pork, which really shouldn't be on the menu if they are true farm-to-table eating. Plus, at $49 it should have wowed us more. While it tasted ok, there wasn't anything fresh or bright or seasonal on the plate aside from a little lemon in the lentils, and, frankly, I've cooked better pork myself at home. - We finished with the Mille feuille dessert, which was so skimpy on the cream that all you tasted was the biscuit in your mouth. To their credit though, when I mentioned that to the Host/server as we were paying, he brought out a plate with some more cream and we finally got to taste the brown butter, etc. that was supposed to be highlighted in the dish. - Service overall was good. The vibe is ok...it is not the comfiest place, but we did like the LPs being played on the sound system. I would also say that given the prices they charge, they should have made an effort to wipe/clean our table between dishes as drops/bits from each dish collected during our entire meal. - Be aware that there is a 3% credit card surcharge. While that is noted on their website, it wasn't on the menu. And, maybe it's just me, but if a place wants to be more fine dining, then just charge more to make up for the credit card fees versus adding it onto your bill. Bottom line: We've had much better meals in Paso Robles and though we expected to be wowed by In Bloom given its Michelin designation, it just didn't deliver.

Fun atmosphere and good food!…read more Stopped here for a quick drink and bite to eat before heading back to the hotel for the night. The town was hosting live music at the plaza across the street so we sat outside facing the plaza. It was a great way to enjoy our meal! The place was pretty packed because of the World Cup going on (Mexico vs Korea) so I understand why our server was a bit slow. She was handling tables inside and outside but keep in mind when it gets busy you may wait a bit longer for things. I ordered "The Steak" which is a hangar steak with a compound butter on top and Brussels sprouts on the side, I subbed potatoes for coleslaw. The steak was cooked nicely and had a great crust on the outside, very flavorful with just the right amount of saltiness. The Brussels were some of the best I've had even though they were so simple. I ate every last one! The slaw was ok but not a ton of flavor, it was pretty light on the sauce. We also got an order of bacon wrapped jalapeños with cilantro ranch. They were so good! We destroyed them in seconds while burning our tongues on the lava-like cheese. Worth it!

November 2025 Since…read moreI gave such a stellar review of the Bacon Crusted Burger at Street Side Ale House, I must update the comments since people do go to restaurants based on other's reviews. And I am so embarrassed to have recommended this restaurant to dozens of people. We raved to our friends about this place and this burger in particular. So, when we traveled with them to Paso Robles this week, we took them there on Thursday night. We passed on having the Wagyu 8 oz. burger and fries at In Bloom (Michelin listed) the night before in anticipation of this burger. Service was abysmal. We sat for quite some time with no service. My wife went in and asked where our server was? Finally, a woman showed up and said our waiter would be with us shortly. Sometime later, a friendly waiter arrived. He was obviously new, under-trained, and spread too thin. He was very personable, but our drinks sat on the bar for a long time and my wife had to go in and ask if she could take then. "No, the waiter will bring them out." Meanwhile, our friends were sipping on their drinks. We got our appetizers and then ordered our meals. The food came quickly, maybe too quickly, and I noticed no egg yolk oozing out (it was halved for us in the kitchen) and the burger overall was much thinner than the last time and the arugula was so wet under the patty. So, we ate a couple bites of it and it just did not taste right. I opened it up to find a baked or boiled grey patty with no crispy bacon wrapping. The bacon was soft, I mean boiled soft and was a small lump on top of the burger patty, not even close to crispy. More like a damp towel. The avocado was sliced but not spread out, so stuck on the left side. The egg was hard cooked with a solid yolk. No pepper to be found. I showed the waiter who was stunned. He thought we were kidding. The manger came out, looked at it, asked what we wanted to do. I was a bit surprised given the wreck that this burger was and said I don't know, what do you want to do? He said the chef wasn't there but took the plate back to the kitchen. He came back and said the chef (wait, he wasn't there) was surprised and said it was not right. The chef (if he was there) should have headed straight out to us and apologized. So, the manager took the burger off the bill but left the same horrible burger ($22) on our friend's bill. I should not have to tell a manager how to fix such a mess and disaster of a meal and service. I hope they fix their kitchen, whoever is checking food at the pass, and the service or they will be another casualty to the restaurant business in Paso. Sorry I had to write this as I rarely post negative reviews in order to not hurt a business and their employees.

The server had an attitude when I had to return the salad for having cheese (I am allergic) claiming I did not request to have no cheese (which I did clearly). As to food quality, the appetizers were amazing. We ordered the home made chips and shishito peppers, which were the highlight of our meal. The quality was overall fairly decent. The salad was not properly washed and had lots of sand particles in the leaves, which made it inedible. I therefore leave a mixed review. I have no plans on ever recommending this place, or returning for another meal.
