Enjoyed the ambiance. Met nice people at the bar, enjoyed the wine and a salad. Comfortable seating and good service by the barman.

    Pretzel and Mac and cheese.

Slow service, over-cooked salmon. The restaurant is in a hotel lobby but they need a larger menu and more staff.

I'm a biscuits and gravy fiend and Joe's is at the top of my list of favorites for that. Atmosphere is like sitting in Joe's kitchen and staff is just great. Real folks enjoying hearty comfort breakfast served up by real folk with big personalities in a diner environment. The food... I ordered a cup of coffee and Hubs the iced tea. Our waitress never let us see the bottom of our glasses. Very attentive. Even offered to refill the drinks to go. We ordered the 2-2-2 eggs, cakes and bacon plate to share and a side garden salad. Yes a salad for breakfast. Super glad that they served that and didn't have to wait until lunch time.the cakes were huge. Big as my round Charlie Brown head. Yummy tasting with a touch of sweetness. The bacon served crispy. Classic diner style. Plus the waitress didn't even bat an eye, no attitudes about plate sharing. She was terrific. She and the other waitresses were fun and sassy. Pricing- the menu prices are for cash payments. If you pay with a card, it's a 3% additional. It's says so on the menu and this practice is not uncommon. Breakfast menu- Omelettes, biscuits n gravy, eggs Benedict, scramblers, cereal, cinnamon rolls, burritos, huevos, rancheros, machaca, steak ranchero, and chilaquiles. Lunch menu- satisfying sandwiches, greasy spoon burgers and dogs, salads, and homemade chili and soups. The interior looks s comfy and homey. Has the look and feels of eating in someone's home. Lots of folks of varying personalities sitting at the counter bantering with each other and the staff. Giving the place a 5 stars for the whole kit and caboodle of serving up comfort diner eats, price points, sense of community, and welcoming staff n vibes. Everyone had a story, even Joe...The story... Joe's parents, Ted and Esper, owned Lola's restaurant in Paso Robles. Joe had a thought in 1994 to open a great spoon diner serving up good eats to the community. Not just a thought, but realized goal. A year later Joe's Place opened in Paso Robles and in 2006 he moved to Templeton. In 2010, his parents retired and Joe re-opened Joe's Place in Paso Robles. Joe honors his parents by serving up the same chili verde recipe and fresh salsas. Awesome!

Even though it was a 15 minute drive up the freeway from where I was, it was worth every minute. The downtown area this shop is in was really cool, plenty of parking, and the moment you walked into this coffee shop you could tell it was going to be good. Lots of space, people sitting and having conversations, and a greeting from the Barista the second I walked through the door. I went with my standard iced oat milk latte with honey and a triple shot and it was perfect. I wish I could have drank it there because the inside of the shop seemed like a place you could hang out for a while. Unfortunately, I had to take it on the road, but that is a shop (if I lived in that area) I would drive out of my way to get to. Well done guys!

To be fair, we did order a latte, so that is partly expected. The breakfast sandwich was good but a little underseasoned and could have used a bit more flavor overall. The chicken pesto sandwich was the standout. The pesto was well balanced and did not overpower the rest of the ingredients, which made the sandwich really pleasant to eat. Overall, everything was solid, though slightly pricey for the portion sizes. The food was good, but nothing especially memorable. Still, it is a nice stop if you are in the area.

We ordered the veggie omelet, veggie scrambled eggs, pancakes, French toast, and the kids pancake with bacon. Each entrée came with a choice of toast or an English muffin. One thing that really stood out was that, without us even asking, the staff split the dishes onto separate plates for everyone at the table. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made sharing so much easier. The veggie scrambled eggs were loaded with fresh vegetables, and the salsa added a great burst of flavor. I personally preferred the hash browns, they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The breakfast potatoes were also good, and the rest of my family actually liked those more. The pancake was huge and fluffy, and the French toast was finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. The kids pancake came in the shape of Mickey Mouse, which absolutely made my son's day. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. Between the exceptional service and delicious food, this has become my favorite breakfast spot whenever I travel to the South. Before we get into the meat & potatoes of this review, let me get something off my chest…read more I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT not anywhere close to being a Cowboy, but I'll be damned if watching shows like Yellowstone on Paramount+ make me think twice about my life choices. I mean... Riding a horse on the open plains.... Wearing Levi jeans, a flannel shirt, with a big cowboy hat, a pair of cowboy boots, and rocking that big belt buckle sounds pretty cool to me. But being a Cowboy or a Cowgirl for that matter is more than just the catchy attire, it's a Lifestyle! Rooted in hard physical labor, long days, loyalty, deep respect and responsibility for the land and herding cattle are just some of the core values and responsibilities of being a true Cowboy/Cowgirl. Hell, I might not be a Cowboy, Yet... But I sure do respect the Lifestyle they live and for now, you can find me on the sidelines rocking out to my favorite country and Western artists: Morgan Wallen, George Straight, Garth Brooks and of course my Girls Reba, Lainey Wilson and Carrie Underwood. Heck, All I need now is my Cowboy Hat & Boots, Well, I suppose I should get a horse too ;) ------------------------ Now, Saddle up Partner, let's get this review on the road. It's time to EAT like a Cowboy and be where every Cowboy wants to be.... Cowgirl Cafe Enters the Chat! Yes, Every Cowboy that I know... Needs a Good Solid Meal to start their day off right. But more importantly than that... A Good, Strong cup of Hot Coffee! But even more important than that hot cup of Jamoka.... A Cowboy needs a Strong, Beautiful Woman by his side to wrangle him back in when he's out of line. Yeah, and just like you "Don't Mess With Texas", You definitely Don't mess with a Cowgirl! So when I ate at the Cowgirl Cafe in Downtown Paso Robles, I was on my best behavior. Located at 1316 Pine Street, this hole in the wall Cafe is where locals and visitors come together to break bread. A well themed decor diner that's open from 6am-2pm daily, The Cowgirl Cafe serves up a mean breakfast & lunch and boy did I enjoy it. 2 Eggs sunny side up, corned-beef hash, their Chef's Special Home Fry Potatoes, a side of toast, & a cup of coffee... All served with that hometown, local hospitality from our server who waited on us... You know, just like a cowboy, I tipped my hat to her and tipped her very well for her excellent service. As mentioned earlier.... The Cowgirl Cafe is open from 6am-2pm daily, so for you early risers who live the Cowboy life of waking up before the Sunrise, a hot meal will waiting for you. But don't fret if you are new to this Cowboy/Cowgirl rise and shine, get the day started off early business... Cause they serve breakfast up until 2pm (or until the cows come home). YeeHaw!!! Now, it's time to Cowgirl Up and stop pretending like this is your first Rodeo. Get on over to Cowgirl Cafe and Eat!
