WOW, the food here was delicious! My partner and I were in Paso Robles for the Fleet Foxes concert and wanted to grab something delicious before the show. It's such an adorable restaurant and it was completely empty! We got a table by the windows and enjoyed a Ribeye and the Chicken Piccata, they were both so delicious It wasn't heavy at all and we felt sufficiently full for the entire 4 hour concert. Next up for us was the 14 oz. double cut pork chop in a balsamic vinegar sauce, mashed potatoes and asparagus. I'm amazed that this thick cut pork chop was prepared so well. Food came out piping hot and all was delicious! Good thing my husband and I shared the meal, because it was a lot of food! No leftovers, we finished everything! There's really not much to the inside decor, with tables spaced out that limits the number of people inside. There is also outdoor dining available. This little place in downtown Paso is a great place for a simple dinner with friends or family if you want a superb meal. The ribs, the lamb chops, pork chops, gnocchi were all fantastic! We brought our own wine and corkage was reasonable so we enjoyed amazing food and wine together. The calamari was fresh and breaded perfectly too. We went to this restaurant based on the 4.7 stars on yelp. When we got their it was empty- the vibe threw us as it felt a bit like a Mexican restaurant - we love Mexican food - but wasn't expecting a Grill to seem like that. We didn't order an appetizer but shared the Caesar wedge which was great. My wife had the salmon piccata- and she thought it was great. I had the ribeye - which was buried in a sauce - from my experience a sure sign of not a great quality of meat- and it wasn't. It was mediocre. We had a bottle of wine which was really good - they do not have a bar. A mixed review - you plunk down close to $200 for 2 you are hoping for something more outstanding and some sense of an event. We began the evening with some appetizers, coconut shrimp and Calamari, I didn't hear complaints from the party, so they must have been delicious. I had the 14oz ribeye. Yummmm! What a great meal we had tonight. Having been on the road for over a month this was one of the best we've had. It's too bad the restaurant was so empty because I think it turned perspective customers off, but if you stayed, it was worth it. Jessica was fantastic- the food and wine fabulous! 4.5 stars We had a heavier lunch at Solvang and decided to eat a lighter dinner. Couldn't be happier with the dining experience at Stokehouse. The place is casual, clean and very pleasant. The mother and son team were very friendly and accommodating. We asked if we could share the wine to try more varieties, no problem, a glass of Sauvignon blanc was served in two glasses. The calamari was so crispy and tasty, not at all greasy; one of the best we've had in a long time. The tomato salad was fresh, refreshing and perfectly dressed with balsamic and basil. very enjoyable. To our pleasant surprise, they served the Cioppino in two separate bowls, very kind of them to split the order without even asking. The seafood stew however was a little too salty for my taste but otherwise very nice. I'm not quite sure, but we don't like our meals that much. The ciopino broth was made with tomato, instead of seafood broth which made very sour taste. My son told me that I made better rack of lamb than this restaurant. Other dishes are not worth mentioning. Service is very good, but it doesn't make up for the food. read more

My daughter and I ate dinner here last night. This was her first time my second eating here. We were both very impressed by the menu as well as the specials that they offered. I ordered the cream of asparagus soup and the baby back ribs. My soup was delicious & the ribs were tender & perfectly cooked. My daughter got the wedge salad & scalloped potatoes. She loved them both. The wait staff were wonderful & attentive. I am looking forward to coming back again & trying their flatbread pizzas or their calamari. Please try this lovely restaurant. It was my first time in Paso Robles about a week ago and I came here with my family to try this restaurant. I wish I had this place here in my hometown. The food was so so delicious! The empanadas were my favorite (I even got an order to go). I recommend ordering the lamb chops, they are amazing, you will not regret it. The service was outstanding, our sever was so sweet and so helpful. The chef was also so kind to come out and say hello as we wanted to thank him and let him know how amazing his food was. This restaurant is Latino owned, so it hit close to home and made me even more excited to visit in the future. I will definitely come here any time I am in Paso Robles! Stokehouse Grill is a great unassuming restaurant in the historic center of Paso Robles. The place opened in May 2020 and survived through the COVID shutdowns. Other Yelp Reviews led us to try dinner here (Jan 2022) and they did not disappoint ... our meal was excellent: crispy empanadas, huge strawberry salad, double cut pork chop (14 oz) and Chicken Piccata. Staff were welcoming and our server Jose was helpful with his recommendations and very attentive. Personally the Grilled Rosemary 14oz Double Cut Pork Chop should be every meat lover's pick when trying Stokehouse Grill. The menu described it as served with a sherry mustard glaze, and servings of balsamic grilled asparagus and scallion mashed potatoes. The double cut pork chop was too much meat and easily could have been shared. It was flavorful and juicy, and truly reflected the chefs talent. The Herb Pan Roasted Chicken Piccata was good and held up on its own merits, but didn't stand a chance against the pork chop. We would return and hope to try other popular items on the menu. read more
