Heard about this place from a coworker, and took the family out to give it a try. Glad I did! The menu is great, with a balanced blend of classic "pub grub" like burgers and wings to more local southern dishes, like housemate hush puppies and southern chicken and biscuits. The portion sizes were larger than normal, and most everything was cooked perfectly with plenty of flavor and quality ingredients. The only downside? The chips we got with the buffalo chicken did (which was excellent) were stale. The prices are a bit higher than you might expect, but given the portions they weren't unfair...just be aware of them. StokeRidge has definitely stepped up their game! I go here almost weekly now and have wonderful service, and great food! I also had them cater my offices Thanksgiving lunch and Kevin, the owner, worked within our limited budget and DELIVERED a delicious hot meal, complete with chaffing dishes to keep it warm to the last bite. Both of our salads were okay, but we felt that they were overpriced for quality and quantity. The mushrooms were fabulous though!! Service was quite slow and while we were able to get our adult beverages refilled, we never did get our 2 waters with lemon. Staff was friendly, albeit a little scattered. Wings were on special and NC State was playing on the TV, so I'm sure that had something to do with it. A little disappointed, but we'll give them another shot in the future. read more

Wow! This to me is a hidden gem!! My friends and family went here on a whim as we all were in the area. Our experience couldn't have been better. It was an eclectic group for sure and no one was disappointed. I had a burger just out of caution as we have never been there before. However the rest of our group had a great range of appetizers and we all shared as we always do. The piedmont pedals were good, but the Nachos were excellent. I can only speak to what I tried so the burger was excellent but the Belews Bowl was amazing!! Everything was perfectly prepared and not over cooked as in most places. But what really was amazing was the service. I understand that taking care of a group of 12 is difficult but our waitress handled our needs and helped us enjoy our time/money spent there. The service was just alright. Nothing extraordinary. The food was good but this restaurant is for adults and it was kids portions. A friend I was with sweet potato fries were cold and another friends chili was cold. The new sweet potato fries were hot and good. I starting going to this restaurant since opening day. The service and the food have been going down hill since. We went back earlier this month, had wings. Our server came and delivered our drinks, waited (again) for 25 min. Once we got our wings, our server disappeared, she had fixed her hair, came back failed to check on us. We had a work gathering at Stokeridge Tavern last night and it was great! They have half-priced apps before 7:00 so we ordered the spinach dip, the bang bang shrimp and some wings. The shrimp was awesome and as close to Bonefish as I've had anywhere else. (I'm kind of addicted to their Bang Bang.)The spinach dip was a bit bland but a bit of salt made it perfect. Portion size is large and the other menu items seemed to be flying out of the kitchen. The wait staff and bartenders were friendly and efficient. I will definitely be going back! read more

The food is a hit or miss. Fun atmosphere since it is a lot of locals. The waitress was VERY rude and tried to blame us for too many drinks on the tabs that weren't supposed to be. We continuously had to ask other servers to get us more drinks. We did not receive any change back for the ones that paid with cash. read more

Not so good! Food was alright, service was subpar. Sat at the bar and observed there were numerous employees standing around shooting the bull. Bar tender was overwhelmed and no one helped out. Took a long time to get a beer, and she didn't even ask if we wanted menus. Finally had to ask, and it still took forever to get an order in. There must have been a lot of new hires because all we're asking g the bar tender simple questions, further putting her behind. I noticed that sorry tables took a long time to get cleared, took a long time to get a check and pay the tab. I was here two years ago with similar experience, same story this time. I've been three times now. The first couple visits were last summer when Stokeridge was very new. I went back this month and I was disappointed that the food has not improved. The service and staff has been great. I love the atmosphere in the bar area and the selection of draft beers. The lady I was with was satisfied with the wine selection. Everything is great, other than the food. I will give them at least one more chance, then I will be eating something from the grocery store next to it beforehand and sticking with just beer and water at Stokeridge. On my most recent visit, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms as an app. The crab stuffing can be best described as cat food from a can (I know that's mean but I'm being honest). I had a bbq chicken sandwich, the bbq sauce was tasty and the chicken breast was big and juicy, no complaints there. The sweet potato fries, as a side, were useless and hardly edible. The owner should go to Village Tavern, have their sweet potato fries, and then demand nothing less of his/her own kitchen. I can cook better than than that kitchen, and I never been a professional cook. I sincerely hope the food improves because I like the location, the service, and the bar. read more

Came with friends here on a whim during July 4th cause other restaurants were closed. Sat down no menus given to us no drink menus either just "what are y'all having?". Then the shit gets weird, so I place an order for one drink and waitress asks to hold all of our credit cards for the meals. Not a single restaurant I've ever been too have required to hold our cards for a meal. Her excuse was "it protects me cause doesn't know y'all ". My bad prissy Barbie what business only runs on people you know personally? What follows that is I'm assuming the manager telling us "if I can't pick up the phone and call you to pay a tab I'm holding the cards" what level of professionalism does this land? Bud, idk a single person in your wait staff, back of house, or how my cards are kept and who back there can't simply take pics of my cards in the hour it takes to eat. Whole situation handled poorly zero display of policy anywhere 10/10 wtf is this policy and how shite is the service everyone runs out on the tab? Either something sketchy going on or discriminatory towards a younger crowd. read more

Have tried them twice so far, once for take out & once for dine in. Both experiences were excellent. Most recently we dined in, the food was amazing (highly recommend the French Dip) and our waitress was amazing! She was super friendly and even went above & beyond when we ordered the hotdog for my little by asking if we wanted the bun or not. She was a toddler mom herself and it was fabulous having someone understand toddler idiosyncrasies! Highly recommend and already planning a date night to come back. read more

Very nice with plenty of space. Service was very good and food was well prepared. I had the Chicken Fried Steak which is real cube steak, not mystery meat like you often find. Tender enough to cut with my fork which was a good thing since you would have trouble cutting butter with the knife. Mash potatoes were scratch made. Overall excellent. We will go back. read more

Just ate at this place today. This was our first visit we ordered potato soup and side salad. My soup was room temperature I sent mine back to be reheated. My husband ate his anyway and he still had shredded cheese in his bowl where his soup was too cold to melt it. Waitress was very nice but we won't be back here. read more

Sub-par food that is over priced. Service glacially slow. Management not customer friendly. Not sure what the hype is about. Several tries at this establishment have left several of us very dissatisfied. So, this was not a one and done experience. Wings were average at best, not terrible but not worth going back for them either. Redneck salad did not deliver as promised. It was basically a $10 leafy green plate, without the anticipated "smothered in bacon, chicken, cheese" toppings as advertised. The bang bang shrimp that some rave about taste like they have been fried in fish oil. The "Mediterranean" wrap was weak. Tasted like the ingredients all came out of a can. Went on wing night (ie .25 cent wings) had a BOGO coupon for lunch or dinner. This was denied at the register (by someone other than our waitress, who was very nice) because it (the wings) were first considered another offer, until we pointed out that it would have been free regardless if it was wing night or any other night. The rebuttal from the "mystery" manager was "They are an appetizer". So, if I have this right... had we ordered two $15.00 entrees (which would have cost the business more) they would have honored the coupon, but they could not honor $5.00 worth of chicken wings. Good businesses can spot something like this and concede that it wouldn't make sense to not honor the coupon at the expense of losing customers. But apparently, STG does not have good sense. So we went back last Saturday and it was a great experience. Our waitress, Megan(sp?) was spot on. Very attentive. My son, in his predictable fashion, got the chicken tenders and they were good and hot. I got the shrimp Po Boy with the bang bang sauce because it gets good reviews here. I would recommend it if you'd like a different shrimp sandwich, sweet and spicy. I'm more of a steak guy and I'd have to say if you like a good burger get the blue cheese burger. My wife got the Alfredo dish with broccoli and chicken I think? That sauce was excellent. It was good for lunch the next day too. Over all a great experience. We stopped here on our way to our beach vacation! First time eating here! The food was great, the service was great, however, the flies inside this restaurant were ridiculous! My husband ordered wings that came with two small cups of blue cheese dressing on the side. I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. We spent almost the entire time while we were eating shooing flies away from the food, and at one point a fly actually landed in one of the small cups of dressing!! We had the rehearsal dinner for my son & daughter-in-law here last Friday night. The service for our party of 35 was fantastic. The food was good, with a huge variety of choices. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant after driving by several times. When we walked in, it was three and a half minutes before we were acknowledged by an employee, though several walked by us. Mind you, we had no menus, no drinks or anything. When one finally decided to serve us, we started with a set of wings. These were excellent, and they are named after the local highways. I had the pasta bowl that came with a ceaser salad and my wife had the crab cakes. My salad was half core, so it was very bitter. The oil ceaser dressing was awful. The pasta I had was the Alfredo. It had a choice of chicken or shrimp, and I would have taken the shrimp if the server offered, but she didn't. She also didn't come back to ask, she guessed. The "homemade" alfredo sauce was gritty, like it had sand poured into it. Most likely, if it is made there, whoever made it added all the parmesan at once, instead of adding a little bit, allow it to blend, then add a little more, allow it to blend and so forth. The chicken was ok, but the shrimp would have been better. My wifes crab cakes came almost black and cool in the center. It looked as though they fry them in dirty oil. All in all, it's a very pretty drive but not worth it, unless you like mediocre service and poor food. read more

I may try this place again due to the popularity of it with some of my friends, but my first visit was not so good. I stopped by with my husband after a long day of riding the motorcycle. We noticed a large area to sit outside, but it was very hot that day and it looked like there may not be seating available, so we went inside. We sat at the bar and were greeted immediately by one of the young female bartenders (bartender #1). She gave us menus and took our order for 2 craft beers, which were nice and cold and served right away. After that, things went downhill. As we sat sipping our beers, we noticed the bartender deliver an order of mussels to the couple next to us, but she didn't give them utensils, napkins, or appetizer plates. They had to wait several minutes to get her attention. Meanwhile, the other bartender (bartender #2) was cashing out the drawer in preparation for the end of her shift, so she was ignoring everything going on around her. Then we heard a man sitting at a high top table hollering that he and his wanted to order food. Suddenly, a waitress comes running out from the kitchen. Now, it looked like the outside area was busy, so she may have been "in the weeds". It also seemed like our bartender was trying to help by constantly running outside as well. Yet bartender #2 was only concerned with cashing out and talking with her friend. Soon, the couple with the mussels were finished, had to flag down bartender #1 for their bill, paid and left, leaving their dirty dishes and mussels shells behind for us to look at and watch the flies enjoyed a nice snack. Those dishes sat there and sat there, while both bartenders ignored them. Bartender #1 even grabbed the dirty glasses, but left the dishes and shells shitting there after the couple had left. What is that about? Not only that, there were more dirty dishes a few seats away, and 2 tables full of dirty dishes at the high tops. In my opinion, bartender #2 should have at least bussed the bar and wiped it down before leaving. If I could give these bartenders any tips, they would be: 1. When taking a food order, give the customers their utensils, plates, napkins, and any condiments immediately after entering their order. That way the customers know their order has been placed, and you will remember that they ordered food when you see the 'supplies'. 2. Constantly scan your bar and tables so you will notice customers needs and anything that needs attention. 3. When you give customers their bill, take their dirty dishes. 4. Never walk around without something in your hand. Always be either delivering something, taking something, or cleaning something. 5. Remember...everything you do = $$$ read more

Not real crowded for a Saturday evening and we had our choice of seats. A number of people came in shortly after us. After we were seated the hostess went and told our server that we had been seated, a nice touch, and the server came right over to greet us and take our drink order. We ordered the potato skins as an appetizer and the were very good. Mary ordered the Reuben with hot chips. The chips were plentiful and very good. The Reuben was okay. From hete it goes down hill. At the last minute I changed my mind and tried the Chicken breast pieces tossed in their mildest sauce and French Fries. I forget to specify the breaded breast. When the meal came I couldn't see the fries because they were under the chicken.that had been tossed in the sauce and poured on top. By the time I got to them they were soggy from the sauce and most were unedible. The server came by several times but failed to notice that my drink needed refilled until I held it up in the air and shook it. And then she adked, "Oh do you want a refill?". Da! Fortunately Mary shared her chips with me. I struggled between 2 and 3 and finally decided on 3 because while both the service and the kitchen messed up Mary's meal was good and the initial service was good. But this place is going on the drive-by list. There are too many more deserving restaurants in the area. read more

Food was terrible service was worse if you can even imagine. Their "wangs" were over cooked, and no i didn't order them crispy . Had to go interrupt a group of servers to get a refill. I guess if your not one of the regulars it's hard to get good service. Since they have such a high turn over of servers i may try again in a few months, I'll just be happy if I get some edible food with decent service. I have tried Stokeridge Tavern a few times and it is OK. I didn't have the best of luck the last time I visited but that may have just been an off day for them. There is not much more in the area so I would gauge it as somewhere local rather than running into Greensboro. read more

Tried this for the first time and all 4 of us were very happy. The atmosphere is casual but the food and service are upscale. For a nice dinner out with family and/or friends this place is excellent. Since I work not too far from here, going to try it for lunch soon. read more
