It was fun to see some of the products that Lancaster is known for! I had to get the special red soda, and a Whoopie pie. Both delicious! This spot has all the basics you could want. Ingredients, as well as a lot of premade options you could heat up or bake at home. It is on the pricier end being a meat market, but still fun to look around and get a few items!

My party of three walked to browse the various merchants/ vendors and foods. My party of three visited this indoor food market where there were many options of pies, nuts, candy, pastries, baked goods, bread, pretzels, Amish quilts, but disappointedly I did not see any Amish wicker storage baskets. My desiderium was to purchase one large storage wicker basket with inner cloth lining, but to no avail as I am characteristically organized in both my living and workplace space environment. Or, purchase one large raffia storage box with lid. I also wanted the classic chocolate chip (no nuts) cookies, but to no avail. Surprising Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is open and operational on July 4th, 2026 holiday. Customer service is mediocre. There is a large souvenir gift shop in the lower level via schlepping one flight of stairs. It is not ADA accessible. There is no stair climber available either. Ergo, for the mobility challenged take caution and there is very low headroom in the stairwell. My party of three has always patronized to support local souvenir gift shops as tourists - past and present. Personally, I believe in patronizing brick and mortar local souvenir gift shops drives the local economic tourism. We are non-Pennsylvanians. The souvenir T-shirts are hugely extortionate priced at $19.99. This gift shop reminisce nostalgia of Hallmark stores for mugs, decorative pens, bookmarks, post cards, magnets, pins, printed recipe books, small journals, wall calendar year 2027, et al. The costume jewelry was also hugely extortionate priced $19.99. I freely walked the aisles to browse and circled back. There many home decor items of rural country flair. I purchased one post card of Amish horse buggy with a farm field $0.50, one Pennsylvania shape magnet $1.99, and one lighthouse shape coaster $2.99. I have a small collection of post cards from travels. I actually needed a coaster for my workplace desk as I am currently using a makeshift coaster of my own arts and craft creation. I love lighthouses for the long history, significance, contribution to navy and maritime industry, including aesthetic of nature scenic local landscape emitting a sense of peace. I did receive a sales receipt printed from a very dated cash register.

So many delectable condiments (pickles, mustard, crackers, bread, butter, sardines, beautiful dish towels, wooden charcuterie boards, candles, chocolates, salamis and so much more. Today we received a tasting of gouda, blue and goat cheeses; yum! Free Gouda samples (nice sized chunks too), for opening day weekend. These owners are serious about their cheese, but not very friendly, at least from what I experienced. "I would like to sample one of these blues, please." "Nope, we don't have that one available for sampling." How would I be able to tell if I like it; I asked. Five different blue cheeses to choose from, what makes them different from one another, I asked. The male owner, in a condescending tone; "What exactly are you wanting to know? Do you want to know the intensity of the blue?" "Um, yeah; I guess." The owner responds, this one is soaked in a liquor (so, I'm thinking; ooh, I wanna try that one). I can't though, it's wrapped and it's not a cheese already out, for sampling. "What about the other blue cheeses, what are they like?" Right now, my voice is quavering; is it not okay to ask what the cheese tastes like? Now I'm reminiscing about Di Bruno Brothers cheese shop, in Little Italy Philadelphia, PA. They have an entire store of cheese and the personnel behind the massive counter, allows you to sample, till your hearts content, gushing about their cheeses and inquiring how you like the cheese. It's a full on cheesy experience. That experience was glorious, this was .. different. Though I must admit, the shop's layout, offerings, are all very tempting - to include those chocolate croissants, behind their glass case. According to one of the employees, some cheeses will be a constant fixture in this store, but as the seasons change, so will some of their other offerings. Sadly, not every cheese was available to sample, but co-workers will allow samples of whatever was ready that day. Do note that the cheese wrapped for sale, cannot be cut into smaller slices and re-wrapped, like some other cheese shops. Requesting a smaller portion, may not be done. I say this because, I may need only a specific amount for a recipe or to munch on, with one of your many crackers to choose among. Good cheese is expensive. I was also looking for some fresh baguettes, but the only bread available were in their freezer. Owners aside, Lititz Cheese Shop staff were helpful and friendly. Whatever you asked of them, they obliged and provided cheese knowledge.

Each table has a game & unique salt/pepper shakers. Just a lovely place that clearly shows the owners are proud of their food & their customers. Every employee was beyond friendly. Our server was extremely attentive. It is clear that there is a family atmosphere as you watch the employees interact with each other. The menu is large & has many options. They even offer some all day breakfast options. We ordered the onion rings that were good. We also had a cheesesteak with fries & that was also good. We ordered the meat sampler appetizer as an entree. You get LOTS of food!! It comes with smoked wings, ribs, brisket, & pulled chicken. Hush puppies & smoked baked beans are also included. The brisket was amazing! So tender and flavorful. The pulled chicken was also tasty. Wings & ribs were well overcooked, but still had terrific flavor. The baked beans were delicious - highly recommend! We were too full to order dessert, but they have milkshakes & sundaes. I have a feeling they would have been pretty tasty. The quality of the food is good & the prices are beyond reasonable. Definitely worth a stop.

My company got fries topped with cheese and smoked beef brisket, a twisted burger with fries, and a cheeseburger with fries. All the food was cooked perfectly, well seasoned. All the French fries had that textured of old fries refried. They were super crispy in outside and stale dry inside. We were famished so we finished it all. We were told they had really great brownies so we bought a piece and also a lemon pound cake. Both were so yummy. The brownie was a more cake less chewy and the amount of sweetness was perfect. The lemon pound cake was a perfect sweetness and lemon combination. I was sad that we didn't get the mango ice cream, we just couldn't fit it in! Next time! The ambience of this place is very old school pub type with antique nostalgia decore all around. The restrooms were clean as well as tables and chairs. An easy place to spot on the main road with plenty of parking. Behind the pub is a rail so you do feel the shaking of the train as it passes lol. The service was friendly and fast. If you find yourself in this area do stop in. They have a few interesting items on the menu to try, you won't regret it.
