This was on my way back from Fort Duffield Historic Site. As someone who likes local coffee shops this one on Dixie Highway is a cute little shop tucked into a small strip mall. Friendly service and good coffee are benchmarks of this little gem. read more

Coffee. Yes please. I stopped this morning on my way towards Fort Knox and used up some of their wifi while I drank a very good cortado (half espresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk) to get my caffeine levels up to where they needed to be. Despite the pandemic (July 2020), they are open and everyone is wearing masks as is appropriate. The shop is clean and the seating is comfortable. And yes, the coffee is good too. Skip the coffee chains. Get your coffee local! This stop ended up being my last review in Louisville. So thanks for giving me nearly 40 businesses to review, y'all! I really do love this place! Their coffee quality is unmatched in this area & it's my favorite go to. It's warm, welcoming & theyre sure to help guide you in the right flavor direction. Love this local coffee shop!! Anytime I can support our locals I always will, and this is definitely an easy one to do so! Stomping grounds has unique and fun coffee flavors while also offering the basics any high end coffee shop would also have. The little shop has a laid back atmosphere so it would be easy to study, read or just hang with a few friends while sipping on your coffee! I visited this place on a Sunday around lunch time (about 3 months ago). The staff was nice and polite. The space was actually very clean and organized. However, the only thing I wish would improve would be the quality of certain drinks. I ended up ordering an iced chai latte, that, nevertheless was less than impressive and a whole $7 for a medium size drink. Maybe, if they can improve on those. I can see this being a 4 or a five star for me. But, overall, they offer wifi and decent seating. So, I can see why some people would enjoy the space. read more

Love this local coffee shop in Southwest Louisville! The staff are so nice and make me feel so welcomed every time that I go there. They have a great selection of coffee drinks and monthly specials. I also love that they offer a few sugar free syrups! My favorite drink is a latte with sugar free salted caramel or sugar free white chocolate syrup. They sell baked goods as well. We were on our way to West Point and had to stop in for a quick coffee, since we are barely in the area. I have to admit that Stomping Grounds definitely feels like it belongs in the more 'hip' areas of the city, but I also think it's great that the South End can have a cool local business like this one. Their coffee is unique, and I love it... it has this smoky-ish taste to it. Not your average brew. They also have flavors to add like dark and white chocolate, which I also never see often. The inside is so cozy, as if you're hanging out in a cabin with some really cool art or something... at least that's how I felt! I love Stomping Grounds! I will definitely have to make another stop the next time I'm on Dixie Highway. read more

I absolutely love this local coffee shop! The owners are so friendly and I love that they're from the community they serve. The baristas are all nice and knowledgeable! I've become a regular and most of them know my drink preferences now and can help make suggestion of what new drinks I might like which is pretty awesome! The iced lattes are absolutely AMAZING! Literally the best I've ever had! I've not had one yet I don't love. My favorite permanent menu latte is the salted caramel. But when they have it, the bourbon caramel is amazing, as well as all of the fall drinks, like the shop girl! It's my new favorite! In my bid to only get coffee at local cafes Stomping Grounds Coffee was next on my path. It's a quite little shop on a strip on Dixie highway, right beside the Library so a perfect stop if you want to fuel up and study. If you want a great atmosphere, good company, and delicious coffee/treats/tea, this is absolutely the place for you. When you walk in you're greeted by probably every person in the place. Most of them are regulars and enjoy sitting, drinking coffee, or working while mingling with the locals. If you're not sure what you want to try or not sure what's good, just look around at who's sitting in the booths and ask them their recommendations, more than likely you'll get a solid recommendation from a local coffee lover. Julie and David, the owners have brought something special to the south end of Jefferson County. Their coffee shop feels like home and you'll never meet a stranger when you go in. My recommendation is always the dirty chai iced with almond milk or the Bee Charmer is my wintertime favorite. read more

Really great little coffee shop and they do some special things for the community. When I was out there, they had a school supplies box where you could leave donated supplies which they will take to an area school and drop off. They also host a weekly yoga class for around $8 (sorry can't remember the exact price). They have a sitting room with books and games too. But the most important thing is the coffee and they do a GREAT JOB! Good service and great coffee. I will DEFINITELY stop in when I am in the area! read more

One of the best locally owned coffee shops, especially this end of town. I like both the hot and cold beverages that they serve that is perfect for anytime of the season. Started coming here in the beginning of last year and I live the hot chocolate. The service is always nice and everyone is super kind. There's are multiple seats and even a room with a couch and books. Is you're looking for a small, low key spot to have a virtual meeting or grab coffee with a friend this place is perfect. I can't even begin to tell you how happy that I am to see a locally owned coffee shop come to the Southend of Louisville - the often neglected part of the city. The coffee is great. I believe it is Sunergos coffee, which is (in my opinion) the best in the city. The employees obviously seem to care, and are turbo friendly. The shop has a "family room," which has like nice couches and a kiddie table. Cool. I dig. They have a very old record player. Owner told me to bring in my old records and feel free to throw one on. Pretty neat. Other than that - the seating it a bit congested. There aren't too many places to sit. As well, they had no music going. You could just hear people talking to one another. It's new. They're still trying to figure out who they are and how they do things. So, I'll be happy to update this review in a few months time, after they've got their feet under them. But it is already the best coffee shop in the Southend of Louisville, without question, so it's worth a visit. read more

This coffee shop is always warm and friendly. You don't have to deal with a snooty barista or someone who is too busy to get your order right. Even when the staff is busy they always make time to say 'hello' and check in with you while making your drink. Next time you go in, get their Bee Charmer it is to die for! read more

Smells like good coffee. I had the 16 oz skinny vanilla latte and it was a tasty treat semi sweet treat. Sungeros was brewing and the lace was very clean with a rustic look. Customer service was good and the restrooms were clean! I love the lids for the coffee because it's easy to drink. Went down real smooth and you can pierce your lips on it so you don't spill. Just saying you wouldn't want to waste a drip of this caffeinated liquid delicious. read more

I stopped in to this coffee shop a few days back with my mom and my little sister and I think I got a pretty good idea of it, so here goes. We walked in and it instantly reminded me of Sunergos, which is my favorite coffee shop of all time. Prices are similar as well. I had a Chai latte, which is what I typically order at Sunergos. It tasted the same, only difference is that they don't do the cool little designs on top of the drinks here. I liked the little family room and all the art, that was neat. I like that we finally have a nice little local coffee shop out in this part of town. The service was ok, the woman there seemed tired be ready to leave, which I can understand after a long day at work. Seeing as though the drinks were basically identical to Sunergos, they definitely tasted better than over rated Heine Bros. I've noticed this coffee shop as well as Sunergos are cheaper and have better tasting drinks than Heine Bros (lol I'm gonna start a coffee war with my reviews.) Over all a great coffee shop, very similar to the ones we already have, but I'm glad we have one closer to home now. read more

This place is awesome!!!! My wife and I stop by here every time we are in the area. The owner is great and her co worker is great too!! They have plenty of options for everyone. The coffee tastes great every time. If you haven't already, give it a try, believe me you'll be glad that you did. They also have a monthly/seasonal menu as well to keep things fresh. If you don't know what to order just ask and they'll steer you in the right direction. To me this place has the BEST coffee in town!! read more

Love this place in valley Station! It's nice to get away from the good ol' starbucks and I love that this place uses a local manufacturer for their coffee beans! They were told they could only dine outside only there was no outside dining . They were even told Kevin could come inside if he tied Ozzy up outside and left him there. Even after the law regarding service animals was shown and explained, entry was still denied. This isn't simply poor customer service. This is a reminder that many people with disabilities still face barriers that should not exist in 2026. The Americans with Disabilities Act protects the right of service dog teams to access businesses open to the public. They answered our questions about drinks, found us scones, and took quick care of their customer orders. I ordered the large Golden Hour latte with bourbon and caramel syrup. I didn't realize it also included a topping of whipped cream! So, if that's not your thing, make sure to let them know if you'd prefer to skip it. I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. We also took home a couple of blueberry lemon scones. They were okay. The flavor was a bit subtle and I'd likely skip them next time. The menu is robust and they offer several syrups. Plenty of tea packets to pick as well - and if you'd prefer a Red Bull infusion, it's on the menu! Caffeine in all the forms. There's several seats inside and the interior offers a homey vibe. I imagine during nicer weather the patio is popular too. This coffee shop is super close to Iroquois Park - put extra time on your calendar to relax here after a park visit or grab a drink before you head over.

Once the 4 of us ordered we realized the coffees we chise were not included in happy hour. So that was a bummer. But our orders of an iced chai tea, a cream brulatte coffee, a vanilla and caramel latte and a regular coffee were all served as ordered . Everyone was pleased with their drinks. I love the gluten free and dairy free options they offer. I ordered my hubby a white chocolate expresso and I had the brown sugar cinnamon expresso. That expresso spoke to my soul, y'all! You know how when you have one of those food or drink moments. This was it! Perfectly created just for me with oat milk! Their service was friendly and prompt. They also have breakfast burritos and other hot food options. They shared that in some of their locations they are able to have a drive thru option, so no need to get out the car. I love that they are local too! I'll be back for sure!
