I recall commenting on a friend's check-in here on Facebook more than six months ago about my interest in partaking in one of its burgers. That same friend and his wonderful family brought me here as a surprise on my birthday yesterday. I'm of the opinion that mom and pop burger places are way better than their fast food chain counterparts, and I count Stomp's among the best hole-in-the-walls. From its laid-back, country vibe to the food -- which I'll discuss momentarily -- this eatery beckons to be tried at least once. I'm enamored by the fried steak burger. And yes, it's a burger consisting of a big, tender, juicy chicken fried steak. Fair warning: a few bites of this bad boy will have you stuffed. My only knock on it is that the meat-bread ratio is uneven. I wouldn't hesitate to order it again, though. I strongly recommend you get the curly fries with your burger. They came in an abundant serving and are piping hot off the grill. For what it's worth, I feel nostalgic every time I eat curly fries. And since it was my birthday, I was in a mood for reminiscing. I've been to this location several times as well as the Webster location. The reason I keep going back? Everything I've had is great! Don't miss out on ordering the Texas Rattlesnake Eggs: cream cheese, grated cheese, bacon and jalapeno rolled into a ball and fried. I watch what I eat but these are well worth the splurge. I've had 4 different burgers: Trail Rider, Texas Tumbleweed, Sun up/Fried egg, and the Dynamite burger. All very good and you can tell the difference in the quality of meat and from the bacon to the Texas Toast every thing is fresh. The waitresses are sweet and attentive. I will start out by declaring that I am a hamburger aficionado or maybe more of a hamburger snob. I love hamburgers and my disclaimer is now out of the way. Today was my wife's 70th birthday and she Stomp's which was a surprise to me but I was excited to go. It has been a while since I bookmarked this place and just never got around to make it out there. I am sad to say that it was a disappointing adventure. Meriam our waitress was friendly and helpful. She explained the different burgers to us. She kept my soda filled but in a background way. That is a good sign. Now about the food. I ordered a half fries and half onion rings plate. Thanks Meriam for telling me it was available. The fries were soggy and the onion rings were pale and not brown at all. They seemed undercooked or not in the microwave long enough. YUCK! My wife ordered their Licker Skillet Enchilada Dip. It was large enough for 2 and it was definitely very cheesy. It tasted like it had too much cream cheese and there was no enchilada taste at all. Both were disappointing. Then we had our burgers served to us. We ordered 2 different kinds so as to taste each one. The burgers are definitely excellent tasting Angus. The real deal. I had the Hog which had cheddar and bacon mixed into the burger. We both gave it a thumb up! Oh yeah!!! My wife ordered the which had way too much of a topping that it detracted from the taste of the Angus beef. Now for my personal peeve. The place was empty and they decided to bring out a 10 - 12 foot ladder to clean the dust off the ceiling fans. REALLY!!!! Where was that dust going. I won't give the name of the young lady doing the cleaning because it was obvious that she was simply doing what she was told to do. The burgers were good but everything else took away from the experience. The burgers are not enough to have us make a special trip back. Sorry but no return visit is coming anytime soon. Stomp's Burger Joint is exactly what the name implies. It is a dive of a burger place that sells very good burgers. They have a wide range of burgers that are cooked on a hot griddle for the perfect amount of time. They are large burgers that will not break the bank. Most burgers are less than $9 each. We ordered the Frito Bandito and the Fried Egg Burger. The Frito Bandito is exactly what the name implies. This one peaked my interest because as a kid (honestly, I still do it as an adult), I loved putting fresh fritos on my peanut butter & jelly sandwich. My wife ordered this burger but I ate 1/4 of it. It tasted like the fritos are cooked inside the meat and then topped with the typical burger toppings. She opted for grilled onions instead of raw which added to the flavor. Cooking the fritos in the meat seemed to make them just slightly softer than topping it with fritos but it was still good. I ordered the Fried Egg burger which also comes with guacamole. I liked it better than the above mentioned burger. The meat was cooked to perfection and was loaded with flavor. Both burgers were large. Honestly, we would consider splitting one next time simply because we are trying to cut back on our calorie consumption and these are large enough that we could split it and not feel hungry. They have a wide range of appetizers. We ordered fried pickles. Really good. They also have a wide range of fries including regular, wedge, skinny, and sweet potato. We ordered the skinny fries. A basket is more than enough to split with someone. We had a $5 off coupon so our two burgers, appetizer, and basket of skinny fries cost just over $20. Not too shabby. Bottom Line: Big burgers, big flavor, not expensive, and we were stuffed. What more do you need from a burger joint? Bon appétit. read more

Stomp Burger has some of the greatest burgers around town. I like the sausage and beef patty burger with jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. I will always go back to the this original location but I am glad they opened a new one on Bay Area that's convenient when in that area. Gotta to stop and give them a try Y'ALL and thank me later. Valli was our server, she was very suggestive & informative. A friendly server and one who knows what she is doing is hard to find. First time eating here. Surprising as I like supporting local businesses. Seems like I was always on the way or coming home from somewhere and too busy to stop. Well no more! Stopped in with friends. I had the Texas Tumble Weed which is the hamburger with Swiss cheese and mushrooms. Meat was flavorful and cooked perfectly. Just the right amount of ingredients. Sweet potato fries were on point. Bun was super fresh and soft though held the burger together. The tea was great as it was not bitter. The others had the double meat Stomps burger and the Outlaw burger. Both with fries and skinny onion rings. I heard no complaints and the table talk ceased a bit while everyone was chowing down. Everyone dug in so fast I didn't even have a chance to take photos. You could get breakfast burgers with eggs on them, Philly cheese steak burgers with Philly cheese steak on it, or just a plain burger. All of them a half pound of deliciousness. A small, typical burger joint nestled in a strip mall. It has a few booths and several tables. It has become our #1 spot for burgers. Solid burger with several offerings. The hamburgers are delicious and I really like eating here but today they pissed me off. I ordered a hamburger it's called sunny side up. Wouldn't you expect the egg to be cooked sunny side up so when you cut into it, the yolk would be all nice and runny. they told me no they said if you want your egg cook that way you should tell us ahead of time. I order the kid's meal not because I'm cheap, but because it fills me up now that I'm old. Anyways the price goes up from $8 to $10 because I'm not a kid and didn't lie to them over the phone plus I even tipped them almost $3 on a takeout order. Another one of my favorite burger joints in the Houston - Galveston area. I've been coming here since it first opened and never had a bad meal. The burgers are fresh, never frozen hand-formed beef, which is almost a must for me these days. The patties are about 5oz each and have an average thickness. You can order a double on any specialty burger for $2 more. These Angus burgers have that greasy burger smell and taste, so kudos to that!! I typically order the hog wild burger, with onion rings. Rings are hand battered, I never order the fries since they aren't fresh cut, but frozen, probably from Sysco. You can choose either thin-cut or thick-cut onion rings. You should tell them how you want your patty cooked, because they don't ask you, otherwise you might end up with a semi dry burger. I heard a horror story about my former colleague coming here and finding something very unusual in his burger patty one time, and it was so bad, they comped him for his entire meal, plus a dessert. Nothing bad has happened to me, so I'll keep coming here every chance I get. I much prefer Stomp's to the higher priced Tookie's burgers in seabrook. read more
