I always get the small rib dinner, which is pretty large, with coleslaw and baked beans. It is great food. I thoroughly enjoy both of their barbecue sauces(sweet and mustard-based) and I consider their coleslaw to be the best out of any restaurant. Picked up food to eat. We were starving so we devoured it too fast and didn't get photos in! I liked the coleslaw because it wasn't sugary sweet and tasted good! The garlic toast was okay, it was smashed in the container so it tasted bitter. Collards were just mushy. It was okay. The ribs were fall off the bone and it came with good BBQ and mustard sauces. I was really skeptical initially about this place but I am going to come back in the future. I would choose this place over the newer BBQ place next to Publix. Give this place a try! read more

This place is one of those places where locals gather and if your not in there all the time your given different service. Not bad service; however you see the banter and attention that the regulars get. the food is O.K. the portions are sort of small, it is never too crowded, which I like, the inside is very country, al wood with stuffed critters randomly placed throughout. My husband ordered the ribs they were amazing fall off the bone really good. I had to steal a few bites. He said the coleslaw was really good as well I had green beans and chicken wings they were on the edge of a little too done but still tasted good with the BBQ sauce. Ice teas were definitely large. Great place to have BBQ when you are in the Burg and do not feel like traveling to OP or Jax. Food is good and portion size is pretty good. Staff is friendly and depending on what entree you order, can take a little time - which they are very upfront about. My wife loves their fried pickles! read more

I had lunch here not too long ago and I have to say, I'm impressed. Pretty typical country decor. There are big picnic-style tables to go along with the decor so there is plenty of room to spread out. The server was courteous and prompt with taking our orders and keeping our glasses full. The food was really good. We had pulled pork plates with mac-n-cheese and green beans. The green beans were AWESOME! Slow cooked with chunks of ham in the bowl. My only complaint is the portion size was kind of small. But lunch portions are always smaller, so I'm sure the dinner portion is more satisfying. Stone E Cabin was nothing special. We went with high expectations on the recommendation of friends, and had we gotten the specials instead of just BBQ we may have enjoyed it more. The wait staff was friendly, the restaurant was clean, but the kitchen staff was exceptionally slow. We ordered the sliced beef, quarter chicken, black-eyed peas, green beans, coleslaw, and french fries. All were fine, just nothing memorable; not worth the drive from Orange Park. read more

Had lunch with my mom and my kids here a few weeks ago. The kids really enjoyed the animals on the walls and the country decor. It is a little over the top, but it is part of the charm of the place. To be honest, I go to an establishment for the good food and service, not what is hanging on the walls. The food was really good. We started out with fried bell pepper rings and fried pickles. DELICIOUS! The pickles were spicy dill pickle spears not the chips you usually see. They were very flavorful. For our entrees, we had BBQ pulled pork, chicken strips ( which were more like boneless breasts that had been cut into strips and fried up like Grandma was there working in the kitchen), collard greens and macaroni and cheese. Our server was quick to refill our drinks and our food was out in a jiffy, fresh and hot! The restrooms were very clean as well. We will be going back soon! read more

My family gave this place several tries, sometimes it was just ok, never was it "wow." Each time, we left thinking, "we just paid how much for that?" The portions are petite for a BBQ joint in the south and the service really depends on your proximity to the kitchen; so that you can flag/yell down a waitress when you need one. Food quality is nothing to write home about and you will probably leave wondering how many days ago the meat you just ate was smoked. Pork, turkey and chicken were consistently dry. On the last visit we had a NON-EXPIRING coupon (maybe 3 months old) the owner refused to honor on what would have been a $35.00+ check. They do have a nice new building, but it is decorated "country tacky." BTW dining room was near empty the last and I mean "the last" time we were there. If you want to eat where the waitresses run scared (of management), you only "fit in" if you wear camouflage, you are ok with paying top dollar for small portions of subpar BBQ, then this is the place for you. Bought a family feast paid $39 dollars. Week before that spent $89. I was excited to eat at our newest BBQ place. when we got home to eat our dinner Saturday night after a long day of work I filled my plate with sliced pork and fries etc. So did my wife and 3 other members of my family. I covered my pork with there mustard sauce and started eating until gone. so did my nephew and wife. My wife asked what that smell was and she started to inspect the table. When she put her head next to the sliced pork she started to gag and a distressed look on her face. No lying the pork smelled like a dead rotten animal you would smell out on the road. I then started to panic and grabbed the box of pork and went up to talk to manger at stone e cabin and she said that it can sometimes smell a little gamey and that it was stronger than in the pass. I told her that no BBQ should smell like rotten dead animal. She then gave me only money back for just the pork. The rest of the night me and my family was worried if we are going to get sick from this bad pork. I will never go back and I would recommend you not to go. Stay away from stone e cabin. I have never written a review for a restaurant in my life. read more
