Service was fine. But the food was awful. Sent the calamari back, should've sent the crab cakes back too. Stuffies were okay, not great. Coconut shrimp was the best but not over the moon about any of it.

The location and layout are what this place has going for it. The service was friendly enough but the food was just not great. Maybe it's my own fault for not ordering seafood?! Although, I did try my friends calamari and found it to be dry, definitely previously frozen and just bland. I would come here again to enjoy the gorgeous views from the bar but would probably not bother to order food.

Visited Rhode Island for 2 days and was there in Bon vue both days .. I loved it on Saturday with live band .. the only issue was there was no food :( just drinks .. they should atleast have some finger food .. good service .. pool for a dollar is good .. and lottery was interesting .. over all a good experience :)

The Bonvue is open again post COVID. The second level deck is not very crowded, has a nice breeze and a pleasant view. Fine place to enjoy a drink and the Summer air. Indoors it's a sparsely decorated version of the old time hang, with the lights up brighter than any nightclub really needs. I think I'll wait on going back inside until the bands are back in town.

I visited Bonvue on a Sunday afternoon after spending the day at the beach. I just tried the drinks but from what I could tell the food looked pretty good as well. We sat outside on the deck looking right over the water which was so awesome. It was the perfect day out so this made for a great experience. It was really relaxing after sitting in the sun all day. It's super casual and the server was really down to earth and helpful. I got a strawberry daiquiri that was actually pretty strong for a frozen cocktail. The drive from the beach is super close and could even be within walking distance depending on what beach you go to. I hear that it gets busy here on weekend nights so I'd love to go back to check that out or to try the food!

My husband and I got the honey pepperoni pizza, and it was very delicious and huge pretty spicy too! We were able to take some home! My cousin also got a hamburger and fries, and she thought it was delicious! They also got beers, and everything was pretty good and fairly priced. When I'm around this area, I'm definitely going to come back to this location due to the food itself. Location: This location is huge, and it had inside and outside seating with lots of tables! It's pretty casual, more so a sports bar-type of setting. Pretty nice to bring family and friends to grab a bite or even go on a casual date. Going after many years and in a different point in my life, I appreciated the nostalgia of still having the tree room with canopy on the wall. We split the stuffies as an appetizer and also the stuffed mushrooms. My aunt commented that both had too many breadcrumbs in it and I agree. We all got different meals, three of us got seafood dishes and my mom and I both got the chicken piccata. The portion was definitely huge, I'm a big fan of chicken piccata normally and I thought this was okay. I do have a ton of pasta left over, though. My husband got the seafood casserole and I think overall enjoyed it. For his sides he got the mixed veggies and the onion rings, and I think the onion rings were my favorite part of the entire meal, they came in a huge basket and they were delicious and perfectly fried. Waitservice was friendly and our group drink a lot of water so she ended up bringing carafes for us which was nice. It was a little hot in the area we were sitting, also, but to be fair it was about 92 to 95° out today, which is atypical for Rhode Island. They had a box AC unit but you could tell it was working hard to keep up. Overall I would maybe come back here again when in the area but I would probably order a sandwich or something different.

He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, taking the time to explain the specials and answer all of my menu questions with patience. Truly five-star hospitality that elevated the entire experience. We started with the complimentary bread and butter--a simple but appreciated touch. The salad special was well executed: mixed greens with mandarin oranges, apples, strawberries, almonds, and walnuts, all lightly dressed in a honey mustard vinaigrette. Fresh, vibrant, and well-balanced. They split the salad for us for a minimal fee, which was absolutely worth it given the generous portion. I had the North Atlantic salmon over angel hair pasta--tender, flavorful, and cooked just right. My husband's pasta special with shrimp, scallops, and lobster in a pink vodka sauce was equally good, with fresh seafood and great flavor throughout. We ended with the key lime pie, which was light and refreshing--the perfect finish. Consistently good food, warm service, and a relaxed local vibe--exactly the kind of place that turns a casual dinner into a spot you keep coming back to.

We drove up to the building and there really is nothing special about it, very few windows and some over grown trees in the parking lot. I didn't have high hopes. When entering into the restaurant the appearance of the bar and dining area was actually decent. Wood floors, wooden tables and a nice atmosphere at the bar. There was a bit of a cleaning supply/bar smell when you first walk in. Again I wasn't expecting much. The kids ordered a small Caesar salad and pasta with butter as their main dish. My husband and I both ordered the marinated grilled chicken with vegetables and potato. A fresh hot loaf of bread with butter was placed on the table right away. It was definitely out of the oven hot and delicious. The kids devoured most of it and we ordered a second one. The waitress, Grace was very attentive and ensured we had everything we needed for the table. I have to say the service was excellent as expressed on other reviews. Definitely a plus with kids! Our kids devoured the Caesar salad. It had fresh lettuce, shredded cheese, croutons and well mixed in dressing. They loved it! When our main dishes arrived, it looked promising, two pieces of nicely grilled chicken on the dish. When I tasted it, I was impressed! It was delicious! Perfectly grilled, not rubbery, and very tasty. The meal came with a side sauce of our liking. I chose the lemon butter on recommendation of the waitress. Perfectly paired! The kids pasta and butter was buccatini and was nice and hot, with a side of potato chip fries. Very good and very unique. They ate it all! Overall, ChopHouse Grille exceeded my expectations. While it isn't on the same level as a special occasion restaurant like the Coast Guard House, it offers solid food, excellent service, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. We never felt out of place dining with our kids, and the staff made the experience easy and enjoyable. I would definitely return to try one of their steaks next time. If you're looking for a comfortable spot for a family dinner with consistently good food and service, I'd happily recommend giving it a try.

Upon our 5:30 p.m. arrival, my wife and I were immediately seated in the far corner of the outdoor patio. From the beginning, the host's demeanor came across as cold and dismissive. When she told us to "enjoy," her tone made it clear she didn't mean what she said. When our waitress arrived, she wanted to explain what the daily specials were, but before she began, we politely asked if we could move to another section of the patio so we could sit in the sun. After speaking with the host, she returned with what I can only describe as a smart-ass attitude, saying, "Those tables are for people who actually have reservations." We completely understood if those tables were reserved, but there was absolutely no reason for the condescending attitude. Instead, we were moved to another corner table, and after the host decided to tell us "enjoy" with the same condescending tone. Once we sat down, I asked the waitress if she could explain the daily specials, but then she quickly replied, "now that we're at a different table, the other waitress/waiter will have to do that" since it wasn't her "zone". As we sat there, we couldn't help but notice what appeared to be a noticeable difference in how other guests were treated. The tables that gave off what I would describe as a more "upper class" appearance, well-dressed white guests who appeared more affluent, seemed to receive a warmer welcome and far more attentive service. Whether that was intentional or not, we couldn't shake the feeling that we were viewed differently. I'm white myself, but perhaps my tattoos or the fact that I was dining with my Brazilian wife caused us to be perceived differently. I honestly don't know. What I do know is that we left feeling like we didn't fit the restaurant's idea of its preferred clientele. For example, our waitress never offered us the option of tap or bottled water, while nearby "upper class" tables were given that choice. Around 6:10 p.m., we ordered appetizers, which took roughly 20 minutes to arrive, while tables seated after us were already receiving their food. We then placed our entrée orders and waited... and waited... and waited. In addition, we found a hair in the salad that we ordered, and when we brought it up to the waitress, her only answer was "that's impossible, everyone in the kitchen wears hairnets... At approximately 6:40 p.m., the hostess came to our table and explained there had been a "mix-up" because we had switched tables, causing our entrée order to be delayed. That explanation made very little sense. How does simply switching tables result in an order being delayed by that much? It pointed to a serious lack of communication between the front of the house and the kitchen. By approximately 6:50 p.m., I believe a manager came to our table and asked if there was anything he could do. At that point, I bluntly asked for the check because waiting well over an hour for our food was simply unacceptable. Ironically, our entrées finally arrived around 7:00 p.m., but by then we had completely lost our appetite. I sent the food back and again requested the check. Even then, it still took another 10 minutes to receive it. To the hostess's credit, she apologized, and I told her I appreciated the apology. However, I also explained that this restaurant clearly has a major communication problem. More importantly, the dismissive attitude we experienced from the moment we walked in set the tone for the entire evening and left us feeling unwelcome. In a nutshell: We waited an hour and a half for our food we never received, we were mistreated, felt discriminated, and there were still PLENTY of open tables in the patio facing the sun. This was our first visit to Narragansett, and unfortunately it was not the welcome we expected. I didn't even bother asking if the restaurant offered a military discount because, by that point, I already felt like we didn't belong. We will NEVER return.
