We've lived in Burleson for 10 years and have meant to try this cafe but just never did. Their deli focused food is simple but delicious. Their soup is excellent. They do offer gluten free bread for a yummy sandwich. I love the creamy mushroom ckn soup. I have respect they aren't open on the weekend. I think it's cool they are able to be successful and can have family focused time on the weekend. read more

Quaint little cafe served up great food with friendly service - I'd definitely eat here again. They had me at Mushroom Beer Cheese Soup which prompted me to come home and look up recipes so I could recreate the magic. I did the soup and sandwich combo with half a Veggie Delight on wheat altered to add avocado. The ingredients tasted fresh and the sandwich was nicely proportioned. If I were to change anything, I would have suggested toasting the bread (This may have been an option but this was my first time so I don't know). If you're in the area, stop by this hole-in-the-wall restaurant stuffed in a no-frills shopping strip. It's definitely worth circling for a parking space. I decided to check this place out for lunch today. I wish I had gone basically anywhere else. When I walked in, there was an early 20s guy talking to the early 20s girl at the register. I guess he was picking up his food but they stood discussing weekend plans, what time they both got off work today, all kinds of things. Counting myself, there were three people in line. None of the other employees cared and certainly did not let that interfere with their standing around. Once I got to the counter to order, the girl took my order and was very rude about it. My food was quick to arrive: I ordered the Country Club with potato salad and a drink. I had pretty high expectations seeing as how it cost $9.36. What arrived was a perfectly fine sandwich that you could make at home, complete with store-bought bread. I looked around at the other diners' food and saw that they were all the same kind of make-it-in-your-own-kitchen kind of fare. The potato salad tasted fine but did they make that or buy it? I just don't understand how they have the balls to charge so much for nothing that is made on site. You're better off going to any of the chains up and down Wilshire. You will probably find friendlier employees there, too. read more

They have really good soup and a great variety of sandwiches. I wish they had a better variety of soups to choose from. They only make two different soups each day and I totally understand the effort involved in making them from scratch with fresh ingredients. I just wish there were at least 3 or 4 to choose from and that at least one of them could be a healthy option without a creamy base. Really friendly ladies too but $18 seems a little expensive for two people too. Still I'd rather go here than Subway any day. read more

First time customer. Italian and Reuben sandwich ordered with coleslaw. The latter was too strong, but juicy. Both sandwiches included plenty of meat & great bread choices with fresh vegetables. Reuben's dressing was tasty but smothered the sandwich and required a lot of napkins to recover from the run down. Would have welcomed hard rolls to contain movement of ingredients. read more

This is easily the best place to get soup and sandwich or even a salad in Burleson. Oh there's so many items on the menu that I enjoy so I will just break it down by category for the things that I have found myself ordering the most. Soups-- I usually order broccoli and cheese, chicken enchilada, and when it's cold chicken and dumplings. You can tell right away when you taste any of these soups that they are fresh and homemade! The portions are quite large. I can throw down with the best of them , but usually after A sandwich and soup here .... Well, I'm completely satisfied with a happy, full belly. Now to sandwiches.. he has a ton of options you can create your own sandwich with all of the various fresh ingredients and I'm telling you they are fresh no one in Burleson can compare. Or you can pick something from the menu which I usually do. My personal favorites are the deli sandwich or the stone soup club. For those who are not fans of soup, you can order A different side like potato salad ,pasta salad , cole slaw ,or even chips if you want . The staff is fantastic. I was really wanting this place to be awesome. It's hard to find healthier alternatives to the normal fast food and chain restaurants in Burleson. They were fast and friendly with a full restaurant and even with a line to place order. I got the chicken salad on a croissant. It was just nothing special. My husband got the New Yorker and it was really good. The marble bread was so fresh. The sides were good. I'm sure I will go back I was just hoping for so much more. read more

I love this place. They always have the best soups/sandwich combos, which are different every day of the week. My personal favorite is Friday - broccoli cheese soup day! Went there today with a group of co-workers. I ordered the avocado club,which is served on a croissant. so good! In the past I have gotten sandwiches on the wheat bread, which tends to get all soggy before I can get it back to the office to eat it. Overall, love this place. We'll start with the food, depending on who makes your sandwich you either get a good amount of meat on it or you can get barely any which is a huge disappointment when you are paying $8 for a sandwich you could make at home. Some of the soups are delicious and some, well not the best. I highly recommend thursdays chicken mushroom but wednesdays beer cheese mushroom had me questioning if it could even be considered soup with its thick gelatinous texture, gag. Now, onto service...there's one woman who works there that is older than all the other girls who is always a pleasure to order from but if you get stuck with one of the fresh out of high school girls, expect to be treated with a rude, I don't really care attitude. I am so impressed by all the vegetarian options available, and they don't skimp on flavor or quality. (I had the California Dreamer with veggie turkey. Soooo good!) This was an unfortunate experience for us. Called in with 4 separate orders and asked for delivery to our location and was told that it would be at least 90 minutes until they could deliver our food. Since we all clock in and out for lunch, I opted to send someone to pick it up instead, and let's just say that I am glad that I did because when we arrived to pick it up, there on the wall, for all the world to see, and potentially steal, were the credit card numbers we gave as payment over the phone! Very irresponsible on the part of this business owner to display credit card numbers and expiration dates on the tickets they use for orders. When it was brought to the attention of the cashier/counter girl, she was very rude and we were told that they had "been doing it this way for 8 years", and that we were the only ones upset about it. My guess is we're the only ones that have noticed it since it was a "to go" order instead of a delivery. Once the food was picked up and brought back to our place, there were two mistakes on one order, and when we called and asked that they fix it and deliver the replacement, we were told once again that it would be another hour before it could be brought us. Today's incident will be the last time we do business with this restaurant. I will add that we were called back by Terry( a manager?) and we told her we were all upset that the card numbers were on display. She said that they "normally don't do that, but we were so busy" that they did it that way today, which is obviously a complete contradiction to what the counter girl told us. As of now, it's been over an hour, the replacement food has not arrived, and we're all hoping that no one has compromised our credit cards. read more

Nice little place, drove by a couple of times then I saw it. Really clean place. Staff was very friendly and since it was my first time they were patient with me while I tried to get my order. I'm being slightly more generous than I'd like to be by giving 2 stars. This place wasn't awful, it was clean and the sweet tea is good. It is probably one of the most overpriced places I've EVER eaten. The sandwich was fine I guess but it was certainly not worth the price. It was equivalent to what you'd make in your own kitchen. I could buy an entire loaf of bread and some pre packaged crappy lunch meat plus some cheese and veggies and make 6 sandwiches for the price that this place charges for 1 sandwich. $10 for 1 small sandwich and a tea is outrageous, they do include a small side. I had the pasta salad and the portion was very small and taste was fine. Basically if you are hungry for a sandwich you are better off going to subway, you will spend less money and may actually leave feeling full instead of screwed. read more
