Plain cooked ribs are not bbq. Ribs need to be smoked and have the appropriate pink ring hue to the meat at a minimum to be bbq. These ribs are just cooked pork ribs sadly. Uuuuummm... Not sure what happened. First time there. Went for a work luncheon. I ordered the Western Lettuce... I mean "Chicken" Wrap. Pretty sneaky: they put the chopped chicken right in the middle of the wrap. Then, they present it to you cut in half with what appears to be heaps of chopped chicken stuffed inside. What you actually get is a week's worth of lettuce. It wasn't just my wrap. My co-worker had the same thing happen. The chicken itself had a nice mesquite smell wafting into my smell receptors, but there was so little, that it was actually kind of an insult/tease. Service was friendly and the staff was cool. The pizza my coworkers got looked decent; as did the Cesar salad. Let's see... Oh, the cowboy beans were tasty AF! Anyway, yea... The wraps are more lettuce than anything else. I consider that a rip off.... So 2 stars: 1) for the staff and 2) the other items actually looked tasty. What I got just was not worth the price. The food here is so good and the portion sizes are generous. The tri-tip and chicken are super tender and full of flavor. The salads and chips & guacamole are fresh. My personal favorite sides are the roasted cauliflower and mashed potatoes. Their bread sticks are also delicious. Due to covid, you can only order food to go/pick up. Their curb side pick up option makes everything super convenient - Just park in one of their marked spots and call them to let them know what spot you're in. They'll bring out your order, take your preferred form of payment and come out a couple mins later to hand you your receipt. Their staff are all super friendly as well! read more

I went here after a long day of Disneyland hoping we could just sit, eat, and be served drinks. But as we walked in, it was an order at the counter, put your number on the table, refill your own drinks type of place. That wasn't a deal breaker, just not expected. We got our drinks, sat down, and then out came the yummiest food! Did takeout for a graduation family event and was hugely disappointed. Arrived on time to pick up the order only to wait 10 minutes for breadsticks while the meat was ready. Needless to say when I got home all the meat was lukewarm. Too make matters worse, the tri-tip was extremely gristly and was like eating rubber. The ribs were extremely dry and the salad was flavorless. Overall, an awful experience. I will never patronize Stone Fire Grill again. read more

Star rating: 3 1/2 star I made a visit to Stonefire Grill today because my customers specially requested Stonefire Grill. Knowing I had to feed a hungry bunch, I ordered the 2 x chicken, bbq ribs, 2x tri-tip, salad, mash potatos, bbq beans, caesar salad and bread sticks. I called around 10:30 AM for a 11 AM pick up. Everything was cool except the fact that they didn't have plates/utensils/napkin ready. I would have to say the chicken and tri-tip are the better choices there because they make it right. The bbq ribs were respectable but not quite there yet. The total damage was around $130 and it's not bad for serving 10 people. Most importantly, my customers love it. read more

i didnt know what to expect when i walked in, but i was pleasantly surprised with the kind staff, the lively atmosphere, open space, and of course the food. I got the baby back ribs, which was perfectly done - very tender, lean, and tasty. The side of mashed potatoes was good too but a bit too garlicy... the bread sticks were tasty and light. My fiance and I ate here for the second time last night. We ordered some sort of off-menu combo that included pizza, tri-tip, salad, and breadsticks. All of that food was only $21.99 (be sure to ask about that sort of combo, like I said it's not listed). We were both very satisfied with our meal. The breadsticks were amazing (buttery and garlicky), the tri-tip was cooked to our satisfaction, and the pizza was really yummy (especially the cheese!). The only part of the meal that wasn't that great was the salad, which sort of felt like they tore open a bag of lettuce from the grocery store, dumped it in a bowl, and gave it to us. My only complaint about the experience was the salad, but its really a minor complaint since the rest of the food was so good! If you are looking for a place similar to Pat & Oscars to get pizza, chicken, meat, or sandwiches, I would certainly recommend this place. When Stonefire Grill first opened, the quality of their food was great - from their chicken, ribs, tri-tip to their salads, sides, etc. The location is convenient, they've had special deals and they offer a basic meal. But the last few times I've been there, I've been beyond disappointed and worse yet, I've been paying more for their food. It seems that they've let their popularity and their recognizable name in the area take over the preparation and quality of the food significantly. Very disappointing. I went in today for a lunch take-out order. While looking at their menu, I was looking for a simple lunch item/combo - a cartwheel salad and chicken. Their options were minimal unless I wanted to spend at least $10 which was not what I expected. I had to ask for lunch specials which were not featured in the take-out side of the restaurant and even then, they did not have a basic meal. In any case, I paid $10 for my meal and waited patiently while I watched to-go orders be brought out. I assumed those were phone-in orders because I was the only one waiting. As it turns out, when I showed my impatience on the delay did someone finally notice one of the orders was mine. And to top it all off, they had forgotten my order of breadsticks that went along with the meal. Luckily I caught that before rushing out to actually go eat my meal... And what a complete disappointment that was....the chicken was saturated in oil/butter/garlic - so much so that you would have never known that you were eating chicken. The salad looked like it had been sitting out for days - wilted and not at all fresh. Their salad dressing also seemed to have been sitting in its container for weeks. And my 2 measly breadsticks...well that's all I ended up eating for lunch. Needless to say I won't be back. For the price I paid today, I could have had much more satisfying meals at a lot of other places in the area and/or saved myself at least a few dollars. I just love this place! It's casual, good food and not too pricey. My husband and I do take out here often. The order is usually a chicken caesar salad, bread sticks obviously, and a bottle of wine. Yes you can get wine to go. I think that the servings are proportioned on the larger side. Like someone else mentioned, the small salad can definitely serve 3, not 1-2. I think this place is great for families. If I come with four or more people, I always order the stimulus package, get a nice salad, pizza and the tri tip. And don't forget the breadsticks that they come with! Their ribs and carrot cake are pretty good as well. While individually their dishes aren't the best-I've-ever-had good, together they make it a very worthwhile place to go. Their servers have always been very accommodating and friendly. The Pizza here is a MUST TRY! I try to get in once a week for their cheese pizza. IF I'm feeling the need to eat healthy, then I go with the Tri tip. Absolutely delicious. Prices are reasonable. The staff is incredibly helpful and always smiling. It's a different dining experience where you order your food prior to sitting down, which makes for an interesting experience. The effusive reviews gushing about how great this place is are odd to me. The food here is prepared and it is heated, but I would not go so far as to say it is cooked. Cooking should involve tasting the food, and adjusting your recipe and methods as necessary to give what you are cooking a better flavor and texture. And that is what the food here is lacking, a good flavor and texture. They seem to know this, because you have the option of drowning all of your food in their plentiful sauce. Take as much of it as you want. You'll need it. Food: People love bread and they love meat. And if you want a lot of both for a fairly affordable price, then you might give this place a try. However, the bread sticks that some people like so much are just factory made, reheated bread sticks. It's no better here than anywhere else, but at least it is not worse. The meat is just okay. I found myself dipping it various sauces to make it more palatable. I'd prefer not to drown my meat in sauces, because sometimes you want to taste what you are eating, rather than just the sauce. I decided I'd rather taste the sauce, this time. The salads are mediocre, little more than lettuce with a sprinkling of other produce to be able to rename it something else. The pizza wasn't bad, actually. So, if you end up here, get the combo with a pizza in it, I humbly suggest. Service: The people here are busy, but they are very nice. Yeah, they hold their cool, even with the large crowds they have to handle. All the stars given here are to the nice people who work a hard job and treat you alright. Ambiance & Decor: I've been here a couple of times, and it always tends to be busy. I guess if you throw out the word "tri-tip" people will come running at all hours. It can be loud when its busy, but when it was not busy, the noise level was fine. The decor here can best be described as current American casual dining decor. Been to this location a couple of times. The chopped salad with tri-tip is my go to meal here. The tri-tip content is generous and is cooked perfectly. Breadsticks are addictive! You'll need a support group to help get you off of them lol! Optional dipping sauces are a nice touch. Pizza's are pretty good too. For a place offering a lot of food options, they are better than average. Tried the BBQ Chicken pizza and it was really good with the chicken cooked perfectly and portioned generously. The only thing that I could think of that could be improved is the timing of food delivery. First, it seems a bit slow, takes a while to get your food. Second, the timing of delivery is a bit off - your order comes out in pieces over about 15 minutes. Would be nice if the entire party's order could come out at roughly the same time. Don't hesitate! We celebrated my son's 15th birthday here last night. Service by the hostess staff was exceptional. We had a party of 12 and they found us seating in less than 30 minutes. This was our second time going to this chain. It is a casual restaurant where you order your food and it is brought to you, you get your own drinks and utensils. The only difference than most fast casual restaurants is that the food quality is high and the prices are good. Highly recommend the tri-tip, both flavors. Ask for the horse radish, amazing on the meat. My kids enjoy the pizza and bread sticks. We had the cartwheel salad and the garden salad, super huge and great flavor. I think this might be our new birthday location. Although I like the outside eating area at the Pasadena location better. Only gripe, they could use some better dessert options. First time there and truly enjoyed the food. The pizza in which I ordered was very good. I always order garlic on pizza and man was there garlic chunks on it that did not disappoint. At first, food AND service was awesome, now, everything has gone downhill. - Service is OK. I've been experiencing times where the Employees don't care about their job (slamming plates down where food almost went on us and short changing us). Last night, the Pregnant Lady who looked like The Manager seemed as if she just wanted to get off from work, roughly handed me my card and receipt to sign, and didn't bother to look in the bags she gave me. She forgot my Cheesecake where, luckily, I didn't drive off, had to get out of my car, and go back to get it. And not all Employees were trained the same.
