Nashville Hot Chicken pizza
Lloyd L.

Quick service and good food. My parents love to come here often and we dined in today. You get up and get your own plate cutlery and soda situation which I love because you don't have to wait for people to ask. Me and my family shared the whole roasted cauliflower and I believe the dressing is tahini which I typically don't like but theirs is delicious! We shared a Nashville hot chicken pizza and it was very balanced and not too spicy. Their pizza crust is really tasty too. We also got the Tri tip and chicken plate with mash potatoes and every thing was great. The lighting is pretty dim in there overall but you can still see.

I got the two person deal for $36 that included tri tip, cream corn, 4 breadsticks, and salad. If you're looking for something healthyish. It was enough portion to feed 3 person. I'd ordered online and estimated as 20 min and was pretty accurate. Staff was friendly. I got it to go but the place looks pretty nice for dine in. It's spacious and clean. The tri tip I ordered medium well but was more on the medium side. Cream corn was too sweet and clumpy for me. Once in awhile I crave this type of food.

First time at Stonefire grill was pretty good. I like the chill vibes and the prices were really good. They have lunch specials. Salsa , Guacamole & Chips was TOP TIER. The pasta was good wish there was more sauce but there was a good amount of cheese. I like that most meals come with breadsticks cause the breadsticks are pretty good. For my meal I got the tri tip. I didn't not like it at all ; it was too chewy and unseasoned. I would come back and order something different because you can't beat the prices and they have seltzers and beer and wine.

We ordered on line and the food was delivered to our table. The tri tip was easy to cut, but was hard to chew and swallow. The salad dressing was in a cup. All the oil was at the top and I couldn't get it to mix. They gave me balsamic vinaigrette and it was delicious. Staff are very nice.

First time here, we passed by many times and was curious. Today the hubby and I came in, was a surprised that we had to order first, pay and then sit. Nothing wrong with that we were just not ready right away. The cashier was very friendly no issues.....we went with the small portion of pizza and a salad. It wasn't great but not bad..... our food didn't take too long it was just ok. It gives an updated sizzlers kind of vibe. (That's the best as I can describe it) the ambiance was good, plenty of seating, very organized and clean. Would I be back? Probably not.....but glad we came in.

Pear Gorgonzola (Seasonal)
Pam S.

The staff at the family meal and take out area was ABSOLUTELY Amazing! I ordered the seasonal Pear Gorgonzola Salad it wasn't what I thought it would be like... a little to tart (the dressing was). Tropical Iced Tea was good and I came with a group that sat out on the patio... they had on the AC with fans so I pretty much froze out there. Parking lot was small but this place is located next to the mall so you can always park next door and walk over. I had never been here before so I wasn't aware of how the order first then sit anywhere afterword - worked. I guess in this way it's like Sizzler HA! Respectfully Reviewed.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Stonefire Grill, so as part of the celebration, all Stonefire Grill locations partake in a special promo on the 25th of every month of 2025. The promo varies, and only rewards members would be in the know via email. I did make a visit back in 2023 with my team at work, and we all ordered lunch specials, which ran from 11 AM to 3 PM (now 4 PM) on weekdays. I ordered the Half Chicken Club Sandwich with a side of Caesar Salad as well as a drink, a $1.49 (now $2.69) upcharge. I enjoyed the sandwich and the salad, but I got overcharged for the drink because the cashier at the time rang it up for regular price as opposed to the lunch special price. I submitted an inquiry to see if this could be resolved, which they did in the form of a comp card that was actually a little more than the overcharge. Nice! What wasn't so nice, however, was being told by Anthony during the March 25th anniversary promo that there was a zero balance on my card. I just wanted one breadstick, which was only 25 cents that day, but the card rang up with a zero balance. I saw online there was still a nonzero balance, so Anthony had to have messed up somewhere. I stopped by on the April 25th anniversary promo, which would include samplings of their new menu items like hummus, Strawberry Walnut Salad, and pizza. I ordered the Half BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich with Nutty Coleslaw. I remember not liking the Nutty Coleslaw years ago, but wanted to give it another try to see if my opinion would change. It took only 7 minutes before a server came by with my lunch special. I thought the tri tip tasted better here with the ooey gooey melty cheese supplementing the meat that was covered with a good amount of BBQ flavor. The nutty coleslaw, on the other hand, wasn't too bad, but was quite vinegar-y for my taste buds that now I remembered why I didn't like it the first time. It wasn't a bad side to try, especially since there are peanuts inside, but I think the deviation from the norm was a bit too much for me despite my affinity towards peanuts. About a minute after being handed my order, I saw another server passing out bowls of the Strawberry Walnut Salad. It was good, and I started savoring the nutty coleslaw to wait for more samples to come out. Unfortunately, they never did. I was told at the front that the samples would be happening all day that day, so I came back after work that day to see for myself. There was a line to order, and I was planning to visit three other spots that evening. I looked inside, and there was nothing that indicated they were still giving out samples, so I just left. July's 25th anniversary celebration was a Pulled Pork Sandwich for $7.25, just less than half of the regular price, for rewards members. July 25 fell on a Friday, so the offer was extended into the weekend, and rewards members could redeem the offer once per day during that weekend. The Pulled Pork Sandwich comes with a side. I chose Stonefire's Beans on Friday. Kassandra worked the register on Friday, and she was pretty sweet with a side of patience. Stonefire Grill is lucky to have her on their team! I liked the pulled pork, but I wouldn't say I liked it that much, at least without BBQ sauce, whose dispenser is at the rear of the restaurant. The sandwich would also have been pretty messy to eat, so rather than using my hands, I just used a fork lol. Stonefire's Beans were quite good that I'd definitely recommend, even if you don't like beans in general. I went again on Sunday and did see Kassandra working, but it was Kristi who took my order. Kristi seemed more stern than Kassandra, but still had good customer service overall. I asked Kristi to describe the Garden Salad, but since it seemed like any ordinary salad I could get elsewhere, I went with the Garlic Mashed Potatoes this time. Just like on Friday, I didn't have to wait long for the Pulled Pork Sandwich. However, I was given a spoon for Stonefire's Beans on Friday, but no utensils for the Garlic Mashed Potatoes even though I think the Garlic Mashed Potatoes could have used a spoon too. I had to go get a fork from one of the side counters. The pulled pork didn't seem as tender compared to Friday, but was still tasty with the addition of BBQ sauce. The Garlic Mashed Potatoes should probably drop the "Garlic" in its name as I needed to add plenty of BBQ sauce to further enhance the taste profile. It was also a little hard to eat with a fork, so I'd recommend for Stonefire to add a spoon to orders with Garlic Mashed Potatoes. Depending on what the promotions are for the remaining months ahead, I'll update this review accordingly. It's also possible I may not be back. My 3 stars stand pat for now.

Mash potatoes
Karina G.

Well it's been a long time coming, everytime we eat on that side of town we pass this spot and say, we got to try it. Today was the day, Saturday eve. We were going to meet up some friends and then they couldn't make it, glad they didn't. As soon as we're walking up we hesitated going in bcs it looked like there was a long wait. Then we realized that we have to order at the entrance before sitting. I was bummed there was no fries to go with the cheeseburger. Was craving a Philly cheese steak so the closest to that was the BBQ tri tip sandwich. Mash potatoes since there was no fries. Right off the bat food temperature was not acceptable. Spinach dip went room temp quickly, it was ok. When I picked up my tri tip sandwich, it wasn't hot, like the bread wasn't warmed up meat was luke warm ...I liked the pickles on the side and the mini caesar salad. My friend on the other hand, didn't enjoy his burger at all, temperature was the same as mine, he even said I think I just ate a frozen piece lol! I freaked out and said stop eating it... He kept eating it and mash potatoes were dry and luke warm. My friend did note, perhaps we ordered the wrong food, he said I see a lot of pizza and salad. I know food is pricey nowadays and honestly for $60 and change I expected waaaay better. I cannot say we will back.

Flavor on both dishes were good (we shared food to try both items) in my opinion but the sauce on the chilaquiles was not as flavorful. I know everyone makes that dish differently but we didn't enjoy the sauce too much. The service was disappointing . I made reservations and the hostess/server told me she understood we made reservations but the party outside was there long before us (I believe they had no reservation)... she sat them down first. It seemed as though they knew each other . We got seated 15 mins or so after our reservation time and then it took over 20-25 mins to get one dish out . She would stop and talk to them a lot ! Brought them dish after dish and didn't provide the same service to other tables . Didn't understand the point of reservations if they seat by preference of client ? After a while it was noticeable I was irritated and she began to ask from time to time if everything was okay. It wasn't . I was annoyed . She didn't hide the fact that she clearly was giving preference to her friend's table and dismissing everyone else that was seated . Ambience wasn't too chaotic for the time we went . Not sure why it took so long to get our dishes out . Perhaps another time will makeup for our first time here but not sure I will return .

We had a reservation for six and the hostess greeted us and sat us right away. Our server, Nate, was fantastic. He knew the menu and answered all of our questions. He even explained how some of the drinks were made. Later we found out he was actually one of the bartenders helping out as a server for the night. Which made sense considering how well he knew how the drinks were made. He was attentive and checked on us often to make sure everything was going well. One thing that made him stand out was, he actually conversed with us rather than just asking if we needed anything and then leaving. The Old Fashioned was one of the smoothest and best I've probably ever had. My nephew ordered the Ube Painkiller after Nate described how it was made. I had a sip, and the ube flavor really came through without overpowering the drink and it was perfectly matched with the dark rum, which Nate said came from the Caribbean. The Brussels sprouts had a nice mix of tender and crispy pieces that gave additional texture. The calamari was tender and the pesto style sauce paired real good with it. The Thai curry sea bass was flavorful, flaky, and had the right amount of spice. The cioppino had a rich shellfish flavor in the broth and I appreciated that the tomato base didn't have such an acidic taste. We also shared the tomahawk, which was juicy, cooked perfectly, and had a sprinkle of coarse salt that really brought out the flavor. Overall, we had a great experience. The food was excellent, but Nate's service really made our night special, making us feel right at home.

The hostess was quite sweet when we walked in. As we had our little fur baby with us, we were seated at one of the tables on the patio. It was still early and that in-between time so it was pretty quiet. A large party was set up next to us. Melinda took care of us and she was the sweetest. Happy hour was happening which we took advantage of. It was 4.00 off appetizer, 2.00 off draft wine and beer. Also, they made sure that our little pup was well taken care of as well. Food wise, an order of the poke wrap. Nice chunks of ahi with a scoop of rice, lettuce, avocado and wasabi sauce. It was good but a little messy. As it would be with all of the lettuce wraps. The steamed mussels which is a must. The broth was delicious and served with two nice thick slices of toasted bread. Decent size mussels cooked deliciously in the broth. A must try. Lastly the calamari which was tossed with jalapeños. Both deep fried and quite tasty. Nice crunch to it but not overly cooked. That was also served with two dipping sauce. Everything was delicious. Towards the end of the meal, Melinda noticed that a bug was in my wine which she was very sweet about and made sure to take care of it. The simple little gesture was greatly appreciative. The whole experience was excellent. Everyone was the sweetest and friendliest. Will definitely be back.

Everything looked and tasted delicious! We ordered the chilaquiles verde, short rib omelette, tropical pancakes (seasonal), and the mango curd french toast (seasonal). The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. The moment I took my first bite, I immediately noticed that the ricotta tasted sour and spoiled. I drove back to the restaurant to request a refund. Unfortunately, my refund was not honored because the manager, Aimee, was not present. Karely, the lead on duty, seemed unsure of how to handle the situation and attempted to explain that the sour taste was simply the lemon in the ricotta. That explanation was disappointing because there is a clear difference between the intended lemon flavor and the taste of spoiled dairy. What upset me most was the lack of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. As a customer, I expected the issue to be taken seriously, especially when food safety is involved. If a manager is unavailable, staff should be properly trained and empowered to handle customer concerns appropriately. I am currently four months pregnant, which made this experience even more concerning. I wasted my time, gas, and energy driving back to the restaurant, only to leave without a refund or any resolution. This was by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in Downey, and unfortunately, I will not be returning.
