YOOOOOOOOOOO! Pulled up because this spot had the best deal in my area -- $21 lunch AYCE KBBQ? Say less. At that price I'm basically legally obligated to show up hungry. Honestly, I'm a simple man. Just bring me beef belly, pork jowl, tofu soup, and I'm living my best life -- and yeah, they got all that for $21, so I was feeling like I beat the system. BUT THEN... plot twist. We ordered jalapeños... and they came with a complimentary baby black beetle . Not on the menu, not listed as extra protein, just vibes. Imagine if I had actually eaten that... I would've unlocked a new fear and probably a superpower I didn't ask for. At that point we're like, "Alright, they're gonna take care of us, right?" Maybe comp one lunch, maybe apologize with some dignity... nah. They said, "Best we can do is one melon alcoholic drink ." So basically... cheers to trauma. They still charged us for both meals like everything was normal. Like sir... I didn't come here for Fear Factor: KBBQ Edition. Service though? Not gonna lie, they were nice. No attitude, just... casually serving insect surprise like it's part of the experience. Overall vibe: standard AYCE KBBQ spot, nothing crazy... except, you know, the uninvited guest at the table. Would I come back? i dunno... but I'm inspecting my vegetables like a detective every-time ‍

Haven't been to Gen Korean BBQ in years. It's a solid AYCE spot for the price. Came here with coworkers and overall it was decent, but a few things stood out. Ventilation wasn't great, so expect to smell like BBQ after. The floor in our area felt slippery like it wasn't cleaned properly, and the tongs/plates we were given didn't look fully clean, we had to ask for replacements. Food was decent, nothing amazing, but fair for what you pay. Overall, it's an okay spot if you just want AYCE, but the cleanliness and ventilation issues bring it down a bit. I might come back occasionally, but not out of my way.

Side dishes, forgot to take pictures of the meat. Was too hungry

Overall for bang for your buck value kbbq. It's hard to beat Gen. For lunch pricing at $21.99. It is a bargain relative to the price. My favorite meats my family and I enjoy are beef belly, sirloin, and beef brisket. The Kim Chi fried rice is ok, and side dishes are also fine as well. This place gets packed during lunch hours with each waiter covering multiple tables, I want to say upwards of 10+ For a value oriented kbbq place, that is to be expected. Despite this, our waiter Ethan had great attentive service considering how busy he was. Overall I give this location a 4.2, highlights include the price to value ratio. Low points would be the crowd, and some of the hot dishes are a miss, for us that would be the bulgogi fries. Despite this, using Costco gift cards for even more a discount. This place is a must for the value oriented. We will be back for sure.

Worst service I have ever experienced. From the moment we placed our order, the waiter was extremely rude and would repeatedly walk away while we were trying to speak to him. It felt like he was much more interested in the table next to us than in providing basic customer service. To make matters worse, my debit card was charged twice without my authorization, including an additional unexplained charge of $30. This is completely unacceptable and very concerning. On top of that, while removing the grill from our table, the waiter was so careless that hot grease nearly burned my leg. The entire experience was unprofessional, unsafe, and disappointing. I would not recommend this place based on the poor service and lack of attention to customer safety.

Came in on 1/18 around 7:30 PM and the waitlist moved pretty fast about 20 minutes for a party of 5, which was a pleasant surprise during peak time. Food overall was solid. The cheese tonkotsu was definitely a standout and one of my favorite items. Everything else was good, nothing bad, just consistent and satisfying. Ambiance is energetic and fun, but it can get pretty loud with the background music and crowd, so keep that in mind if you're looking for a quieter dinner. Overall, a great spot for groups and a lively night out.

Came on a date with my husband on a Friday night. It was right before it got full so we were able to get seated quickly. The menu was easy to go through and the service was great. As far as food, there were limited side options compared to other kBBQ locations we have been to. We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and the helpful staff. But unfortunately we were not impressed by the food.

Super bad service, waitress take forever to help us out and the iPad service sucks! It doesn't work and you get the premium package for $51.89 but it takes forever! Never coming here again! Their menu it's limited and the portion of side dishes are miserable!

This was my first time being seated in what seems like a separate building from the main GEN location, which honestly confused me at first. Once we got there, I also had zero phone service, so I couldn't really look at the menu online -- not ideal. That said, our server John completely saved the experience. I believe he's a manager, and he was covering three sections at once. You could tell he was stressed and under a lot of pressure, but he was still doing an amazing job. He was running around nonstop like a chicken without a head -- I genuinely wanted to tell him it was okay to breathe Huge respect to him. Where we were seated, the door opening constantly let in cold air. My boyfriend liked the breeze, but I absolutely did not. If you tend to run hot, though, that seat would be perfect. One thing I did appreciate was the block of onion they give you to clean the grill between meats -- super convenient. I wasn't a fan of their hot sauce, though; it tasted like spicy ketchup to me. Now the food -- all of it was great. Meats we ordered: * Brisket * Beef belly * Hawaiian steak * Spicy pork bulgogi Everything was flavorful and cooked well. For appetizers, we got the cheese corn and bulgogi fries, and both were fire. The dinner menu has a lot of appetizer options to choose from, which was a nice bonus. Overall, great food and an outstanding server. The layout and seating situation weren't ideal, but I'd still come back -- especially knowing how solid the food is and how hard the staff works. (Would have been 4 stars if it wasn't for John)

This place is eh. Service is slow. The meats are similar to other places but things don't come out fast enough. Their banchan is scarce and everything else is just ok for the $30 lunch option. I don't know if I will come back, but it's worth trying.

What an incredibly underwhelming experience. I know a few people that love this place and I had not been here before. The family and I went a few days ago for dinner. The restaurant looks very trendy and club-like from the outside. The service was not great, just right off the bat. The hostess who sat us didn't wait for us to walk us to our table (a group of people walking in to the restaurant cut us off) and when we found her and sat down, literally 30 seconds pass before she tells us we have to move because she sat us at the wrong table - on the opposite side of the restaurant. Her general demeanor was not friendly. This was our first time here, and we let our server know that, he gave us a quick run-down of how the experience was meant to go, which was a bit disappointing in terms of limitations of ordering (e.g., no doubling up on sides). Someone came and literally dropped the metallic workings for the burner into the table and rushed away. Our meat came (very small portions) and we began cooking. Then a woman walked passed and turned our fire down without saying anything and walked away. The meat stopped cooking. The meat was taking so long to cook and all of the staff were running around (literally someone ran past us) so my husband was trying to figure out how to turn the fire back up. We finished the small portion of meat, but had to wait maybe 15 minutes before our server came by again so we could order more. We sat waiting for food longer than actually eating, not to mention the staff continually turning our burner down (no wonder the limit is 2 HOURS - takes this long just to cook your meat). I also had to stop someone to ask them to switch out the burner after cooking for a long period of time. The quality of meat was fine, the options for dipping sauces was lacking, the white rice was cold. After we finished eating, we had to wait maybe another 20 minutes before I finally decided to flag someone down just so we could pay and leave. It wasn't until this moment - when I had to stop someone for help - that our server came over and apologized for the wait. Suffice to say, this was a disappointing first-time experience. Overpriced, sub-par service, basic food.

I recently came here to make my stomach bigger than my eyes and accomplished just that they have two locations in the same parking lot all the staff were very attentive and welcoming my waiter was T-Roy shout out to him as we were not his only table but he still made sure we received everything we asked for in a timely manner the lights are dim so it's not overly bright and there's music being played with a variety of genres giving it a soft relaxing vibe even though it was very busy tables were like revolving doors everyone was happy cooking and enjoying family time or intimate time I had 2 premium which is all the good meat included the food was amazing which I would find hard not to be considering it's cooked by us I love it the only thing I didn't like was we were seated at the table right in front of the door and guest kept holding it open and standing there,

Brisket on left. Beef Belly on right. (Get the beef belly)

Our server Gabe was attentive, gave great recommendations on the menu, and most of all, was welcoming from the front door to finish. Everyone was very kind and professional on such a busy day. Thanks so much!

The service was amazing, the brisket is my favorite part and I love all the sides. 10 out of 10.

    Do they sell gift cards?

    They sell some at Costco

How much is ayce for the weekend?

$29.99. They also have a premium menu which $20 more, however it is so worth it. The quality of the meat is on point.

Do they have different price for kids? Or a kids menu?

    No they do not.

What is the average wait on a Sunday after 6pm?

Depends on your party size. They have another section next door which helps with the wait. I went with a group of 5 2 Sundays ago and waited 40min

    Do you take reservations?

    No they don't do reservations.

What time does lunch end and is it Monday-Friday?

Lunch ends at 3 Monday-Thursday. And Friday- Sunday is dinner all day

What is the current dinner price?

    $28.95

Can you eat here by yourself or do you have to bring someone?

    Yes, I always go alone...

Do you take reservations for Saturdays (dinner)?

Nope. They do not take reservations - ever :(

Are there gluten free options with the marinades? Or do they all include soy sauce?

There are just not the marinade, the meat are terrible, not fresh

Kid's pricing, how much is lunch for a 5 year old child?

Kids are free under 7 I believe.

Will you open for Christmas Day?

    How much is dinner?

Lunch is $20 dinner is $28.

    Can I reserve on call?

    Walk in only

Do they still have the takeout orders?

    Yes they do!

Are appetizers part of the all you can eat or do they charge those individually?

Separate charge. Keep in mind that will be the same at all AYCE restaurants. This includes drinks as well.

Is their a way I can make reservations?

No reservations but you can go put your name down and go run your errands. Their waitlist is pretty accurate so you can keep checking when you need to head back.

    Do they take Apple pay?

    Yes

Can I be added to the waiting list?

Only if you go in person. They take your name and number down. Then you will get a yelp text letting you know your place in line.

    yes

It's in a small, almost empty-ish plaza, but it's a little mom-and-pop gem. Ambiance (5/5): Walk right in and you'll see that it's on the small side, but a cute and simple restaurant with family vibes. Depending on the time of day, it can feel somewhat empty while at other times somewhat busy. Service (3/5): It's nothing too special, but the workers are always friendly. It's somewhat self serve. You order at the front and then you wait for them to call your order. Then you pick up your tray of food, eat, and place the trays towards the front when done. Food (5/5): Everything we have eaten here over the years is so yummy. Their hot stone bibimbap is chock-full of ingredients with just the right amount of sesame oil and flavor; we often have to pack some of it to go. Their army stew (budaejigae) is my absolute favorite, and I've compared it to a lot of other Korean stew places, some way pricier and this one still takes the cake. It has a wonderful roasted flavor from all the meats they put in and I love going for the ramen first. I always take extra to go since it's small but filling. The best part? Let's not forget that they have self serve all-you-can-eat banchan (side dishes) and they do not skimp on variety. There's your usuals like the napa kimchi, radish kimchi and fish cakes, but they also have mac salad, potato salad, japchae and other goodies which works well for your picky toddlers. Overall, this is a wonderful little restaurant that deserves a visit over and over when you're just craving some comfort korean food at decent prices.

From the friendly service that made us feel like home, to the delicious food, everything hit the spot. We ordered the cold noodle, seafood pancake, bibambap, and short rib combo. The only negative was the table was kind of small for all the dishes...though that could have been user error with us ordering way too much. Portions were surprisingly big, especially the seafood pancake. The whole time, our littlest one was making a mess and the ladies that worked there did not seem perturbed at all, and kept commenting about how cute he was and interacting with him. My mom also tried this place and recommended it, so I felt confident this would be a spot I would be coming often. We ordered the naengmyeon combo with spicy marinated pork and a side of soybean paste stew. The lady was nice when she seated us, but seemed a little bothered when we only ordered the above items, because she coldly asked "if that was all" and we said yes. She walked away then yells back asking if we wanted rice because rice wasn't included, and we said no. Despite the rough start with the vibe of the lady who took our order I was still hopeful the food itself would make up for it. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. I've never had naengmyeon that had so much chili flakes, and as someone who doesn't mind them, it was weird. The soybean paste soup was bland. And the side dishes were just okay. After the meal, I got really thirsty and my face was puffy so they are using msg. If it was a good meal, I wouldn't have minded the msg, but for food that was mediocre at best was not worth it. Although I won't be back, I did see people ordering for take out nonstop, so there must be some other dish that is giving them customers.
