A family owned business, the food and service reflects their hospitable culture. A quick Corner Bakery type restaurant; great for families, quickly meals, take outs and catering! My favorites on the menu: Grilled cauliflower, their new salad (red cabbage, quinoa) and meatballs. I am addicted to the creamy tahini sauce that goes on the cauliflower. It has a subtle lemony flavor that makes my mouth water. (Vegan approved) All their salads are hearty and filling. I also appreciate they were chopped finely so it is easier to eat and digest (it is a challenge sometimes to eat salad when it's not sexy to stick chunky bits of greens in your mouth) Their pastas are cooked perfectly and I recommend trying the pesto one! Dessert: their carrot cake is made with their family recipe! P.S. I LOVE their grilled veggies! Must add as a side Wine: their Berry one is a nice red wine, perfect with their meatballs or triptip. Food is good, consistent. There seem to be good precautions for health and safety, much appreciated. Parking is plentiful, never had a problem finding a spot. Just knocked off one star for the cashier service. On my last visit, there appeared to be a single line to both pick up food and place new orders. I waited in line like normal, I was next up. A cashier finished with a customer and then he just stood there. He glanced at me, I looked at him expectantly to wave me over or something if he was ready for me, then he just turned the other way and... just spaced out. Like literally stood there facing to his left staring at nothing in particular. Maybe the lights? Maybe the outside through the window where he would rather be? Who knows. After a while, the second cashier finished with her customer, saw me and waved me over. I walked past the first guy and gave him a look like "what the hell man" and placed my order with the second cashier. Stone fire is my daughter and son-in-law's favorite place for lunch. We've been to other iterations of StoneFire but this is the first time we've been to the Pasadena store. Easy to get to right off the freeway. It has a large busy parking lot, but not hard to get a spot at 2 PM. Typical for StoneFire, you order at the counter, find your own table, get your own plates and silverware and beverage. When the food is ready, they bring it to you. The food comes out pretty quickly so there is not a long wait. At two in the afternoon, there's no problem finding a table. This StoneFire has a very pleasant patio area. I shared the small Cobb salad with my wife. The small size is still a huge portion. More food than we could finish. My daughter got the breadsticks. Had to try one of those. Very very tasty. They also got a medium StoneFire favorite pizza with avocado, pesto sauce, feta cheese and mozzarella cheese. Another huge portion. I had to try a piece of that. Also very good. And they got a bowl of pasta as well. That was meh. A huge portion but not very tasty. Lots of leftovers with that. StoneFire is really a crossover between fast food and tableservice. Overall, good quality and plentiful food, pleasant service, reasonable prices. A very good value. read more

It was our first time here, we had a gift card that we got for Christmas a couple of years ago and decided to finally use it. We walked up and we didn't know we had to place our order then grab a seat. It wasn't too busy since we got there about 3:30ish so past the lunch crowd, before dinner crowd. We ordered Cobb salad with chicken, chips & salsa/guacamole, and Tomesto pasta. Soooo freakin' good!!! Everyone was so nice. General manager Ben was so awesome, he stopped by and asked how everything was and we told him it was our first time and will definitely be back!! Definitely wear comfy eating clothes LOL!! First time here and had great experience. The front counter workers really need training, but the rest of the staff is great. Food was reasonably priced, you get huge portions, and food comes out quickly. Hubby had 1/2 chicken, beans and a salad, I had chicken breast, Mac & cheese and a salad. So take a look before coming in (look at my pics of the menu) I ordered and tried a few items below: 1/2 Tri tip: can request for half mesquite BBQ and half pepper garlic with Gorgonzola butter topping. Pretty flavorful but I like my tri tip cooked medium or medium rare. They do not make the tri tip there and is already pre-cooked so can't really ask to customize your tri tip (bummer :/) lemon garlic chicken- tender andjuicy and delicious. Loved it and recommend this ! stonefire's signature BBQ chopped salad- very good too but don't order a big portion because not good as leftovers because gets soggy Rigatoni with meat sauce & mozzarella- highly recommended too!! Was very yummy with little chunks of meat and marinara sauce. 1/2 pound lemon garlic Salmon- very moist and cooked to perfection. Not tough. Look carefully and just know the portions are big. If you order a meal, it comes with either a basic salad (garden, Caesar, cartwheel, or Greek) or a small side dish AND 2 breadsticks. Not a fan of the way you order the food here. This place is huge, with tons of parking available. As you approach, there is a take out side..or a dine-in side..so that's the side we chose; dine in. As we entered, there was a line of people, so bf and I thought it would be a long wait. It seems that you order your food at the register, they give you a buzzer, and you seat yourself. Also, you get your own plates, utensils, and drinks. Great service!! .... I got the: Thinly sliced Tri Tip, Gorgonzola butter, melted mozzarella, lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions, French roll. $8.99 -BLAH. So dry..cheese wasn't melted..it was melted and then warmed so it was cold cheese..no impactful flavor. I also got mashed potatoes on the side and one breadstick. PLEASE TELL ME WHY THERE WAS ONE FULL GARLIC CLOVE IN MY MASHED POTATOES?!?! NO! Bf got: Pepperoni, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, red onion. 12 inch $13.99 -It was okay. Basic pizza. If you're new to Stonefire Grill like I was, don't walk around looking for a waiter there is no waiter to sit you down, no menu for you to flip through while you're sitting, and no waiter to come to your table to order. Everything is done in the front when you walk in, theres a big menu, you order your food, they give you a number and you seat yourself. Utensils, and drinks are on the side, also for you to grab yourself. If you need to box your food togo, the boxes are also located in the same area as the utensils. Overall, food was delicious. I got the Tri-tip and it was juicy and just well cooked. I got it medium rare, and it was perfectly medium rare. For the price you pay, they give you a big portion of food, I do recommend getting the tri-tip or ribs, both good choices, and you would not be disappointed. read more

This is a my favorite family style bbq restaurant in 626 now. Great portion size and their meat is very tasty. This is the place to go for family dinner for some bbq, portion are huge and most important the food quality is great. You paid at first and just grab table, the server will bring the food to you. These folks have been sending us coupons via snail mail for years, but we just never had time to go until now. The food sounded delicious, so we figured we try it out. When we first walked in, we were hit with the atrocious noise level inside the restaurant.. there is practically no sound-deadening material on the walls or ceilings. We'd figure that sitting outside on the patio would be a lot better, but the rest of our group already picked a table inside. We were also initially expecting to order while seated, but turned out this is a place where you have to order before being seated, which is a real chore when you have to explain to the cashier about your uncommon food allergy and have to hold up the line to ask for ingredient lists to ensure that the dishes don't trigger such allergies. Luckily, the staff was very helpful in accommodating us to determine meal items to get that didn't interfere with the allergies. We ended up ordering a custom-made salad with cucumber, Feta cheese, Kalamata olives, mixed greens and sun-dried tomatoes, with an olive-oil-and-lemon-juice dressing and a large pizza with half roasted veggie and half Stonefire's Favorite. Price wasn't too bad on either. The Stonefire's Favorite pizza was pretty greasy and didn't have enough veggies or avocado on it, while the roasted veggie pizza was OK, nothing too mind-blowing. The best part of our meal was the salad, and we were surprised that despite ordering the "small" size, we could barely finish it, so we can only imagine that the larger sizes could probably feed an army. But we love salad greens, so no biggie. The biggest downfall of our meal was when my girlfriend found a stray small chunk of bell pepper (which she is allergic to) on one of the slices of the roasted veggie pizza and it triggered her allergies, despite being assured by the staff that there were no peppers on it, so my guess is that it was probably accidentally tossed into another topping bin in the kitchen. There was also not enough staff around either to take our used plates; one of the folks in our party just ended up taking a bunch and walking them over to the kitchen area. Other positives: The iced tea here is pretty good. Parking near the restaurant is also very limited, especially during peak meal hours, but if you don't mind walking a bit there's usually some spaces available at the nearby Trader Joe's. We may be back, but for the most part the food quality was only OK at best for us, and the pepper incident above was enough to turn us off. read more

My family and I were surprised and disappointed to discover the order at the counter, fast food type system. The food was good however, just as I remembered from catered meals. Unfortunately the women's restroom was a disappointment too. The soap dispenser was lying on the counter, open and empty. If I couldn't wash my hands, how can the employees? I notified a staff person and he said he would tell someone else, but whether anything was done about it, I don't know. We don't plan to return. read more

I came back to Stonefire the other day and had an exceptional experience. I was helped out by Jansen once again, I was glad due to the fact that she was so friendly the last time I came. Jansen suggested that I try the pepper garlic tri tip meal. I definitely trusted her because her suggestion last time did not disappoint! The tri tip was so juicy and flavorful! I got mashed potatoes as well, and they were to garlicky and rich! You can't go wrong with the breadsticks either, they are so addicting! Update review on the large "crowd pleaser" orders: We have used Stonefire many times previously for these crowd pleaser orders; there are various prices for the size that you order. Typically, each order comes with X-number of breadsticks, and if you know Stonefire, you know their breadsticks are delicious. Yesterday, we ordered a large crowd pleaser order, well over $200 (same as we've paid previously before) with the listed 36 breadsticks. What was previously almost a 9" breadstick, came down to literally like 3-4" pieces. And they gave us the same count! So before, we'd get 36, 9" breadsticks, now, we got 36, 3" breadsticks (see photo-tong for comparison). That's redonkulus! I understand cutting down on costs, but this is like a two-thirds reduction, not even half. And the price isn't even reflected on the breadstick downsizing. That is blasphemy! With that being said, I would still come to stonefire because it IS delicious, but crowd pleaser order-ers---beware! read more

I don't understand why this restaurant is rated four stars. Maybe for the value for your buck but quality of the food is 3 out of 5 at most. I had the half rack ribs with mashed potatoes with some Mac and cheese. I enjoyed the mashed potatoes, i would pass on the mc and cheese and the ribs were cold and not fall of the bone tender. It's really noisy inside. This was my first time here and probably my last. Not my type of place. Felt like i would have been better at a sizzler. I will never stop loving this stonefire! The staff are friendly and the food is great! It gets so busy though, so you have to time your visit right. Always plenty to choose from food wise and the bbq tri tip chopped salad is the best. Portions are huge! I always have a ton to take home. I wish they didn't close so early, I've love to come here at night for dinner and enjoy the nice little Stonefire outside, but outdoor seating is always packed. Came here with a large group of 14 after my graduation ceremony starving and grumpy but left feeling full,satisfied and about to enter a food coma! We ended up order two orders of the crowd pleaser; which was a whole Chicken & whole Tri Tip with a large salad and bread sticks in each order. We also added to large pastas for everyone and a small cheese pizza for the kids. Needless to say we had A LOT of leftovers but everyone loved the food! The pesto pasta was a group favorite! The tri tip with garlic butter is my all the time favorite, its always so tender and flavor full you can never go wrong! And don't forget the amazing breadsticks!! I ordered the gluten free salmon from the grill. It comes with a side salad and 2 breadsticks. I liked how the salmon was cooked along with the lemon and olive oil, it was tasty. The salmon wasn't over cooked. It was soft and flakey. I also tried their mash and ordered a small scoop for less than $2. My sister loved it, but I thought it was really heavy due to the cheese. They gave a bowl of side salad and I thought the portion was pretty big. The service was okay. You order up at the register and then seat yourself. But if you have a slowpoke ahead of you, like we did, then be prepared to wait. You have to grab all the utensils and water yourself at the designated station. A lot of the utensils I grabbed had some residue stuck to it. It could be leftover something and some were sticky, probably cause of the sanitizer? That kinda grossed me out. Overall, I don't think I'll come back. I prefer tender greens or urban plates. Finally got to try Stonefire Grill after hearing so many great things about it from friends! Since it was my first time I didn't really know how the ordering process worked but apparently you order up front and take your number to an open table afterwards. Utensils and plates are self serve. The space is very open with a lot of seating both inside and out. My family's order came out quickly since we were first seating as we got there right before opening. We ordered the Golden State Kale salad with dressing on the side, Chicken Breast ala carte w/ lemon garlic sauce on the side, the Whole Roasted Cauliflower, and the Caprese Sandwich. Golden State Kale: Yummy! The kale is cut think enough so that its not bitter. Loved all the different textures in the salad: creamy avocado, crunchy chickpeas, refreshing cucumber and red onion, and sweet golden raisins. The tahini dressing also had a nice little kick to it. I'd order this again! Chicken Breast: How you would expect chicken breast to be. There is a crispy layer of skin left on it which is nice if you like to eat the skin (I just peeled it off). I'm glad I asked for the sauces on the side as I saw some pictures and it looked like the chicken was drowning in sauce. By ordering them on the side I was able to drizzle as much or as little as I wanted to (same as the salad dressing). Whole Roasted Cauliflower: I didn't try it but my family seemed to like it. It was HUGE! They could only finish half and had to take the rest togo. Caprese Sandwich: My sister ordered this. It was quite large and came on ciabatta bread. The tomatoes they use are cherry tomatoes instead of the usual larger sliced pieces. She mentioned that they made it harder to eat but she liked it and said it was filling. I've also heard/read great things about the bread sticks, cauliflower pits, tri-tip salad, and carrot cake so I'm looking forward to my next visit so that I can try those items! Sronefire also seems like a popular take-out/catering option so if you're looking for a food service like that it seems like a great option! Omg this restaurant is NOT CLEAN. both my coworker and I got stomach pain / diarrhea after eating there. I order the chicken tritip combo. My coworker had beef sandwich French Dip. The only thing we had in common was water / soda from the soda machine, as well as utensils. Parking: it was easy to find parking but the lot is shared with trader joe. It might get pack for certain hours. Food: they can't cook a medium rare. I got mine medium well. The sauce on the tri tip is pretty good. Not too strong bbq. It includes a side and I got the garden salad with cilantro sauce. It has a lemon flavor to it. I'm not sure if I would come back.
