This place popped up on my Instagram feed, Decided to check it out since I pass by so many times but never paid attention. It's kinda like and LL Hawaiian bbq but also with burgers. I got the #13 teriyaki Chicken and beef The chicken and the beef had teriyaki sauce all over the top a bed of white rice, and a small helping of steamed shredded veggies on top. I think this place is ok, I know some people like more teriyaki sauce, but they amount they gave was too much for me. The rice felt like it was a little overcooked and still wet. It's been 7 years since I wrote my last review here and B-Man's has stayed consistent. The restaurant has not changed at all and menu items are the same. Fantastic quick & casual spot. Crossover of a charbroiler and bowl spot. The teriyaki burger is great as well as all the different fry variations. I really love the meat and rice bowl/plates. You get a ton of food for the cost and the proteins are packed with flavor and that grill taste. It makes going to one of the chain bowl spots pointless. Very underrated establishment here, sad to see only one location left now. Their burgers are underrated and have fantastic char flavor. My girlfriend brought me here to grab some sandwiches to go. We had just finished breakfast so we weren't ready for lunch but since we were close she brought me to B-Man's Teriyaki to get a couple of sandwiches to take home and eat later. She recommended the chicken Teriyaki as her favorite and their specialty so that's what we ordered. I added avocado and American cheese, she added avocado as well. We ate an order of fries in the car while they were fresh and hot. Good krinkle cut fries with perfect salt. Ordered and paid at the counter, given cups for drinks. Also received a puck that would light up and vibrate when our order was ready. Nice clean, well lit dining area. Sat and enjoyed my drink while we waited for the sandwiches and fries. Everything was done in less than 10 minutes and we were heading home. We ate the sandwiches for dinner and they were very good. Nice chicken. We asked for the sauce on the side since we were going to eat later and that kept the rolls from getting soggy. We enjoyed our sandwiches, id give mine a 4.5 out of 5, it would have almost certainly been a 5 if we'd eaten them at B-Man's hot and fresh. It's been a long time since I've eaten here, and was recently passing by and decided to stop in with the family. From what I remember, this place was amazing, but not today. Staff was friendly enough, We ordered so many things on the menu and the only thing that tasted good was the frozen thawed out French fries. The chicken curry tasted very weird., teriyaki chicken all breast with only coleslaw not sure if it was the chicken or the teriyaki sauce that had a foul smell. ABC Burger was OK., chicken skewers were let down, and Korean short ribs didn't have much flavor to them. Even the dumplings did not taste good at all. None of us finished our food, and we all complained about the food having a weird smell. I'm not willing to give this place Another chance, it was that bad. Miss the old Spikes location on San Gabriel back in the day. Grew up with that food back during my college days. However I'm glad that B Mans is here to serve the same food. Smaller size inside eating area, which can get busy during lunch. Luckily I was ordering to go. Order at the counter and wait for them to buzz your pager. Wait for the food wasn't too long and everything is nicely packaged. We got a chicken teriyaki bowl and teriyaki chicken sandwich. Chicken was cooked nicely (not dry) and nicely dressed with their teriyaki sauce. Their sauce had a distinctive flavor that hasn't changed over the years. I've been a loyal customer before B'Mans opened when his Dad owned Spikes Teriyaki Bowl across the street from Gabrielino High School. The teriyaki and Curry bowls were my fav. Then B'Mans opened and introduced my to Kalbi Korean Beef rib bowl. Not long ago i was disappointed with the tiny beef rib portions and I almost gave up. This is usually a great spot for fast food in Arcadia. Teriyaki and burgers are popular here. Eat in or takeout. The dining area is simple. Service is quick. I always get the katsu chicken curry and leave very satisfied. However, my last visit left much to be desired. Katsu cutlets should be crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. My katsu was neither. It was FLAT as a pancake, like it was beaten to a fourth of an inch before frying. The panko crumbs added more thickness to the cutlet. The meat was virtually undetectable and then it was sliced into 1/2 inch slivers! It was served over a plate that was mostly rice (the rice was good). The curry was fine. However, I would've liked more sauce and more than one carrot and one potato. B-man's, you're usually so much better than this! I hope things improve. read more

I was getting bob at Half and Half next door and knew wanted to try out B-Man's Teriyaki. I liked the huge menu and options for everybody. Ordered at the counter a ABC burger and chili fries small. The food came out quick and service was friendly. I liked the burger and the sauce made it better. The chili fries were different than your usual chili fries. The chili had a slight sweet curry taste to it. Next time, I would ask the fries to fried a bit crispier. Can't wait to try other things on the menu. read more

This review is for some catering that I picked up from the restaurant. Not the chicken! I'm only rating for their service and prices. I did some shopping before I finally found B-man's. I had a work event with a budget. I ordered pans of rice and macaroni salad from their establishment. My order was ready on time and the rice and macaroni salad were a hit. The first time I came to B-Man's, this place gave me a sense of confusion. The menu in particular seemed like a random concoction of unrelated food...teriyaki chicken, Chinese chicken salad, burgers and chili?!? Oooookaaaaay? Man, was I wrong! This place is so good I've literally stopped here every of the 20 times I took a road trip in the past year. What's great about B-Man's IS the menu diversity and the fact that you just can't go wrong with anything on the menu. To date, I've tried everything on the menu and it's all awesome. My particular favorites are the chicken chili and katsu curry with the chili being particularly life changing. The only issue here is the parking. Because the parking lot is shared with Trader Joe's, there is pretty much never any parking. I have historically gotten "lucky" 18/20 times by just entering from the driveway next to B-Man's and hooking a sharp turn towards the spaces directly across from the store front. *Bonus tip* Turns out, the geographical location is perfect to cut around some traffic going through Pasadena when driving from IE to the grapevine. read more

Traffic is horrible during the hours of 5pm-7pm heading south on San Gabriel from Altadena! I tried ordering takeout over the phone, but they dont take phone orders. The voice recording said to order through their app. I pulled over on a side street to place my order because with all the traffic, I knew it would be ready by the time I arrived vs ordering in person. It took me about 15 minutes to go 3 blocks and then entering the plaza. Which I wasnt far from when I placed the order. I opted for curbside so I didnt have to find parking (like the comment that was left from my previous post). And when I arrived, I called to see if my order was ready because I was a few minutes early. As I was pulling up to the restaurant it wasnt clear where I needed to park, so I put my emergency lights on and pulled right up to the door. The staff handed me my order and I left. Food was hot and they gave us hot sauce so that went well. However, I dont think I will ever come during this time because traffic was a beast to get in and out of. read more

Came here for a quick bite and I'm pleasantly surprised. Service is prompt and friendly. There's a decent amount of seating inside the restaurant. I got the Killer B plate since it was the option that let me try a lot of different items in one meal. For $30, it's pretty good. The tray has a decent amount of weight to it. Unfortunately, when I got home, most of the weight is from the 3.5 bowls of rice that's packed inside the container. Even the curry portion was mostly rich instead of curry. The teriyaki sauce is pretty good, on the sweeter side. I like the beef and chicken since both were not over cooked nor dry. The curry chicken is just OK. It's not spicy nor flavorful. The tofu skewers are "tangy" like they had a nice dip in some soy sauce / soup broth. Overall, I think if there was more protein (less rice), I would be happy to pay the $30 repeatedly. If you love rice and want to try a variety of items, I think the Killer B plate is a good "intro" items to try. read more

I got the Teri chicken bowl and a drink. Food was delicious. Staff was friendly. When I'm in the area I would def come back. Everything was great EXCEPT, the one thing I couldn't get past was the amount of MOLD buildup on the soda dispenser. And the more I sat in the lobby, the more I noticed how dirty it is. It made me contemplate getting a drink at all even after I already paid for one. It's very noticeable and not a good thing at all. I GET ITS HARD TO KEEP CLEAN, BUT IT SHOULD BE A PRIORITY! Okay B-Man's has really good burgers. I know teriyaki comes first in the name but I think their burgers are better than their teriyaki (and that's not to say their teriyaki isn't good because it is... I just love their burgers!!). I've been here a couple times and tried their combo teriyaki plate, a regular cheeseburger, and a double ABC burger. The combo plate with chicken and beef comes with Mac salad and some slaw thing. I thought the Mac salad and slaw were just okay. Mid at best. The teriyaki is delicious though and has a nice charbroiled flavor which, when paired with their teriyaki sauce and white rice, is excellent. The double ABC burger was a flavor bomb and literally so good. We got it with American and Swiss cheese (so yum) and I'd never had a burger with teriyaki sauce before and was surprised how much I loved it. Possibly too big with the extra patty but still fantastic. Next time I'd get the ABC burger, single patty. The regular cheeseburger is a home run. It's just perfect and probably going to be my new go to. Anyways, it's a solid spot and you can't go wrong with whatever you order! read more

i asked for the teriyaki sauce on the side so that i will use it only if i need to. but, the meat was already too salty without the sauce, and it was also dry. on top of that, the cabbage served together was so salty and tasted just... bad as well. i was initially ordering Korean bbq rib, but, i was told by the rep that it'd take about 10 minutes or so to prepare, and it is marinaded in the same sauce as teriyaki meats... i should have just walked out when i heard that! read more

ABC burgers are the staple here, coming with avocado, lettuce, tomato, a patty, your choice of American or Swiss cheese and their famous teriyaki sauce that will keep you coming back. Since I don't eat burgers much these days, I've been trying new things from their wide menu. Chicken teriyaki is great, as well as their chicken katsu. I really like their curry too which they can put on fries, a rice bowl, or like the chicken katsu curry bowl I tried. I have never been here before despite driving by it all the time. Finally decided to get takeout. I ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl with white rice. I decided not to get any veggies which I kind of regretted after. For the money you pay you definitely get enough food. This bowl lasted 2 meals for me. The bowl was packed with so much yummy juicy tender chicken smothered in teriyaki sauce. It was so good. It came with one side and I chose the macaroni salad. It was good it just came in this tiny tiny container. It was literally like 2 bites. I also ordered a Portuguese sausage masubi. This was also very large and I ate that in 2 meals as well. The sausage was really well cooked and tasted amazing as a masubi. I know this place has been here forever and I will be going back to try something else like one of their burgers soon. read more

Sorry but my review is not good. I've been a customer for a long time. The owner is nice and involved as much as he can. My food experience is fine and no issues. I'm not concerned about the ambiance. My issue is with the service people receive or lack there of. The people that hand over your food seem miserable. I witnessed an elderly couple disrespected by staff. Not cool... Everyone has parents or grandparents. Have some manners. When I received my order from another employee I was treated the same way. That's my gripe. Food has always been good and no issues. Just don't expect a smile or respect for the customer. There seems to be a pattern. I will try again and see what happens. read more

I've been a regular at B-mans, coming by about twice a week, and usually enjoy their food. My coworkers and I, who work just two blocks away, also frequent this place often. However, my visit on Tuesday evening was very disappointing. I ordered a combo plate and specifically asked for sauce on the side due to an allergy, and I even heard it confirmed when I placed the order. When I received my food, it was smothered in the sauce I cannot have. I went back to the counter to address the issue, and the woman at the counter was dismissive and rude, essentially saying, "Did you confirm your order?" When I said yes, her attitude was basically, "too bad." This is not the level of customer service I expect, especially from a place I frequent and recommend to colleagues. At the very least, she could have offered to serve the beef without sauce. I hope B-mans takes this seriously and ensures staff are trained to handle customer requests--and allergies--properly. read more
