*Delivery review* What a horrific experience. First off, an entire tri-tip meal (a $26 meal, mind you), was completely missing. However, that may have actually been for the best - more on that later. The additional sauces we paid extra for were also missing, the ranch was missing off of our side of carrots and ranch, and the drink that came with our kids meal was missing as well. Then, for the actual food. The kid's pizza was sad. A thin layer of burnt cheese lay atop an even more burnt crust, and finished with tasteless red sauce in between. My 6 year old didn't go past a slice - if a child doesn't like your pizza, something is wrong. The side of mashed potatoes and beans had literally 0 flavor. Seriously, it didn't taste like anything. To call these "garlic mashed potatoes" is embarrassing. Breadsticks - soggy. They also shorted us an order of them, but it's ok - they weren't missed. Lastly, and absolute worst of all, for the second tri-tip meal we DID get... the meat was completely inedible. I chewed the first piece for over 3 minutes and I still couldn't get it down. Got dinner here for the first time tonight! So easy to download the app and order from my phone for pickup in 20 minutes. Unfortunately, I didn't realize until later that I needed to create a Family Value Rewards account prior to ordering, so I didn't get any credit for my purchase and didn't qualify for a free 1/2 basket of breadsticks. Aww shucks. The tri tip & ribs were very flavorful with tons of meat. Came with a nice little container of mesquite BBQ sauce. Gramma Tay's potato salad was nice and tangy, but the potatoes could have been cooked a tad softer. The baked rigatoni with meat sauce and mozzarella was delicious, perfectly cooked with the right level of al dente, but quite salty. The breadsticks were surprisingly thin and plain... I guess I just wasn't prepared for them after visions of Olive Garden breadsticks from the past. But still very yeasty and had a nice fresh bread flavor. All in all, a great dinner! Crazy long line but it moves quickly. The line is long because it is counter service. You order first and then you're seated. There isn't much room from the door to the counter and since it is a grand opening a lot of people are coming to try it out. There are many choices to choose from and not knowing what to order holds up the line. We got the feast for 6. We chose tri-tip, whole chicken, 2 large sides of beans and garlic mash, 18 bread sticks and large salad. When we were asked if wanted the tri-tip with garlic butter or bbq, we didn't know. The cashier suggested to have both and they'd slice the tri tip in half so we'd have both flavors. Salad was plenty with LOTS of breadsticks. Great place for family meal. There is something for everyone. Remember Pat & Oscars? It is just like it with better food quality and more delicious choices. Heads up on lunch special we sure enjoyed today. The lunch special of lemon garlic butter chicken 5 oz, will melt in your mouth. For we seniors with dental changes this is a blessing and the taste buds jump for joy also. The chicken breast cuts gently with a fork. If you order the garlic hot mashed potatoes you can dump the bowel of mashed potatoes out onto the metal serving tray into the delicious garlic butter melted over the chicken. Just right and nothing goes to waste. Guaranteed, you will be overjoyed with this choice. The chicken also can be served with the tasty BBQ sauce. The "coup de grâce" is 2 fresh made bread sticks served with the meal. My two family guests tried the same for the first time and raved about the value and flavors all the way home. The last time I went to this Stonefire Grill I made a comment in my review about the amount of tri tip being meager, but I left 4 stars (good review). I was contacted by Willy Guzman, General Manager, who was disappointed with the 'meager' comment, and asked that I come back in. This past Thursday night I did just that and there was NO disappointment whatsoever. My experience started with Jade A at the front who greeted my wife and I with a smile and warm personality. We ordered off what I call, 'the secret menu,' which is usually reserved for takeout only, TRI TIP STIMULUS, which is $42.99, not including tax, drinks, and tip. WOW, this is a lot of delicious food. You get several options on sides and additions. It EASILY feeds a family of 4. My highlights included the breadsticks (better than Olive Garden) and the AH-MAZING mesquite chicken pizza (better than CPK). Our group has been having meetings during their off hours and the staff has been extremely accommodating and helpful. Many in the group have ordered food and everyone has always been pleased with it. A quick tip is that the kids meals are a great value and large portions. Food always comes out fast and piping hot. The manager always checks to make sure that everything is going all right. I do not like the ordering concept where you order items off a very large digital menu. If this is a restaurant and has a name "grill" attached to it, I want to be seated and waited on, not (order, wait, get your own drinks/utensils). Plus, the staff do not get tips, and the kitchen cooks get underpaid. The food is decent, chicken and tri-tip that I ordered was ok but not off the hook good as some other bbq places. My tri-tip was undercooked, I ordered med. but was received med/rare to almost rare. The cooks need more professional training , and the meat was not sliced against the grain, so it was very tough. (???) Mid/rare should be tender. I can't speak of service because there is no service. For the complete lack of service and the fact that the salads were the highlight of the meal, including two pizzas that were good, and not great, I'm giving this place 3 stars at the most. Plus, the dinner combo meals are served on pizza (metal) plates that you cook pizzas on? Who does this? This place does. So, when you eat with a knife and fork to cut your meats it is difficult and uncomfortable. Finally, the food is very overpriced. Today was my time visiting Stonefire grill. I had a great dining experience! We had breadsticks, Cesar salad, Alfresto w chicken, cheese pizza w mushroom. I enjoyed all the food! This restaurant is a great family place in the South Bay. They have big portions for reasonable prices. I love their BBQ chopped salad - super fresh and the BBQ sauce on it really makes the salad. I like to get it with the tri tip. Their breadsticks are addictive - they're chewy on the inside with a nice garlic butter on the outside. Also recently came in and tried the ribs, which were so tender. The meat fell right off the bone. We got some of the BBQ chicken as well, which was moist and tasty. It's very casual - you order and pay at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you when it's ready. They also have pizzas, pastas, and I saw lots of people eating their chicken tortilla soup. It's good for large groups as the restaurant is large. I've tried.... Over and over and over and over and I think this last time was it. Cold food served yet there's no one ordering when we ordered. Couldn't even get a salad correct. Had to send it back. No manger came over to see what was wrong or ask if I wanted anything else. The visit right before this last my older teen son had food poisoning... from a LARGE tri tip (he had all to himself) that I didn't know that he had this issue until he responded to my sending my meal back... he gave me 1 of his 2 breadsticks feeling bad that had no food. They check our tables if we're good. That's really a very nice touch for a semi fast food service operation. The ambiance and cleanliness of the place. The restroom is very clean while the self serve station is always filled and organized. The best part is the price range in comparison to the good amount of its serving portion. The only positive thing I have to say is that the employees we encountered were friendly and competent. The rest is all bad. This place is overpriced. When you factor in the quality/taste of the food, ordering at the counter, plus self-serve dishes, cutlery and drinks, this place is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. The majority of our food was disgusting. Lukewarm soup. Salad with brown pieces of lettuce. Fried chicken sitting in a pool of dirty fryer oil (I'm talking the oil you get from the bottom of the oil pan with all the burnt, black flecks that make the food taste bitter and bad). The pizza was decent but... a 5$ domino's pizza would have tasted better and been 70% cheaper. Lol where to begin.. (TLDR: customer service sucks here and if they fuck up your order don't expect an apology) My mom had called around 3:30pm and ordered the family meal for 6 plus an extra caesar salad and pesto pasta to be picked up at 6pm. Paid over the phone and gave her cell number for confirmation. Simple enough, right? I arrived to pick up around 6:10 and for some reason they couldn't find my order. According to the supervisor (think her name was Allyson) apparently they don't offer the whole chicken option that we had requested for the family meal. So the meal was not processed. Period. It wasn't until after I asked "so.. where do I go from here..?" did she try and offer a solution by telling me "oh well I can ask the cooks if there's some whole chickens for your order" Um ok... (thanks for offering to fix my problem without me asking) Look, I understand that menus can change or vary and sometimes not all the options listed are available. I get that. BUT.. if an option that was requested wasn't available.. why wasn't the customer notified? You had from 3:30pm to 6pm to notify us that one of the options we chose wasn't available yet instead you just don't process the order until the customer gets there and says something?? According to Allyson, "an email would've been sent, but sometimes people don't check their emails or it goes into the spam folder" Umm... so what you're telling me is that we should just assume that your establishment consistently does NOT have options available and that whenever we order from you that we should also be consistently checking our email to see if there needs to be changes made to our order, otherwise it sits there and isn't processed through. Yep, makes a lot of sense. The cherry on top for me was that Allyson was nice enough to print out the email she received from their call center (apparently if you call for take out after 3pm you're directed to a call center to place an order) and on that email it states that if there are changes to the order the customer needs to be CALLED TO BE NOTIFIED. CALLED. NOT EMAILED (common sense am I right?) No one called to let us know shit, obviously. I found out when I got home with the food an hour later that my mom didn't even leave her fucking email with them. Just her number. Probably for that reason. Nice. The pro.. Allyson told me the food would be out in about 15 minutes which, I'll be honest, it was. While I was waiting I overheard them scurrying to put together an order for a "Jennifer" that I guess they had pending as well for another whole chicken. Glad to hear Jennifer was going to get her order at the time she requested. (Also, maybe y'all need to check your fucking in house emails from time to time from your own call center about pending orders instead of bullshitting and blaming the customer for not checking their spam folder for pending emails from you) The con? Aside from that whole processing fiasco, not an ounce of customer service from Allyson or her staff were demonstrated towards me while I was waiting. Not that I'm one to expect free shit for a fuck up on their end, but a simple "sorry for the inconvenience" would have sufficed. Didn't even get that, which pissed me the fuck off more, since it was clearly a large inconvenience on their part. After processing my card (the most important part lmao) Allyson just slunk to the back and avoided me until I left. No "sorry" not even a "have a nice night" lmfao. Don't know how she got her position but it definitely wasn't for her spectacular customer service skills. Came here for a luncheon with family on Sunday. Place wasn't yet busy when we arrived at noon. Service was good, food was great and the ambiance was perfect. There were 13 of us and we were all satisfied. Staff were nice. Our server kept on checking on us to make sure we were attended. We will for sure come back again for another luncheon. read more

When we go to Stone fire Grill, we always get their Stimulus Package.... can't beat it for $30! The package comes with choice of chicken or tri tip, we always order the trip tip which can be ordered bbq or garlic butter or even half and half. We prefer all garlic butter. It also comes with salad, either tossed or caesar. We enjoy the caesar salad. It comes with a 2 topping pizza, but for an extra $3 you can bump it up to the Works Pizza with all the toppings. Let me tell you about their pizza....it's sooooo good. The dough is fresh and it stone oven baked. The package also comes with 8 bread sticks. We throw in a petite order of the Mac and Cheese which my guy enjoys. It's really cheeeesy!!! Tonight we were like the only customers which was nice. The staff was friendly and the food was delish!! This was my first visit to this, or any, "Stone Fire Grill" location. I give my visit a "4/5" stars. I actually feel it was only "OK"--thus a "3/5". However, it is possible my personal preferences, and issues experienced during the visit, might cause me to judge too harshly. Stone Fire Grill is a fast casual, family restaurant. You arrive; you place your order at the front desk. The cashier gives you your receipt and a "puck"; you select your own table and seat yourself. If you order beverages, they will give you cups at the order desk. You draw your own beverages from the fountain area. You pick up your own plates and utensils from the "side board" area. During my visit, I didn't see a dining party that wasn't a young family. The menu is less robust than I expected. They have 5 pizza options, and 6 salads. As a choice of beef, they have tri-tip; as a pork selection, they have BBQ ribs; they also have grilled and BBQ chicken; and grilled salmon is available. Our table ordered a small pepperoni pizza; an order of tri-tip; two sides (mashed potatoes and macaroni & cheese); and a single serving of Caesar salad. When your food items are ready from the kitchen, a food runner brings it to your table. I wonder if there is any effort given to coordination: ** My salad was delivered. Before I had time to eat half of it, the tri-tip, macaroni and mashed potatoes arrived. ** And while I understand that after cooking, the meat should "rest" before carving, the meat and two sides arrived at the table "cold". ** The pizza arrived at our table [after] we had completed eating the tri-tip and sides. (Actually, the pizza arrived at the table while I was at the counter to cancel the pizza, as it had not yet been delivered.) I asked the sever to provide us with a "to go" box for the pizza. I think that was my first and last visit to Stone Fire Grill. Serving temperature aside, the taste of the food was "OK"; pricing was not out of line. But the food just didn't stand out. I can find "better" at other restaurants. The restaurant format also isn't to my preference. I suspect that that Stone Fire Grill's niche is a family friendly restaurant that allows young families to transition their children from a "kids menu" to "adult food". read more

We love coming to Stonefire because it's spacious and easy for our large family to get together for birthdays and such. My husband and I have come regularly and lately it's hit and miss. There were 10 of us last night, 5 of us ordered tri tip meals, they were all really chewy and hard to breakdown, mine was cooked properly but I left at least 1/2 of mine in my napkin after not being able to chew through it. Service for most of the table was fine, however, 2 people in our party whom ordered first still hadn't gotten their food while the rest of us were already 1/2 done with our dinner. They made several trips to the front counter to check on their meals and the management was not sympathetic they made excuses and said because they ordered an appetizer their order then gets sent to the back of the line behind everyone who ordered after them! The appetizer was delivered before everyone even sat down. Again, we come often and have ordered apps every time and have never had this issue. They just lacked customer service. They did issue a small gift card and a free dessert but it didn't even cover 1/2 their order. I am not kidding when I say they got their food and a majority of our table was done with their meal, we all stalled as long as we could to the point our food was already cold. I get it they were busy and we were a big party but we all ordered separately by the way, but it was the lack of apology and understanding on the managements part, instead of making it a priority when brought to their attention they just made excuses. read more
