    FRESH STRAWBERRY MANGO COOLER

It might be nostalgia, but I have a soft spot for California Pizza Kitchen. It stands amongst the family-friendly restaurants like Red Lobster and Olive Garden where your family would dress up to go enjoy a nice dinner at a reasonable price. I went to the doctor's recently and decided to stop by CPK for a spot of lunch. The Avocado Club Egg Rolls were incredibly crispy with a gooey interior of cheese, avocado, and savory chicken with bacon. The egg rolls came with dips like spicy ranch and cool ranch. I prefer the cool ranch due to the dill flavor. I think it's made in the kitchen. So enjoyable! I dipped the toasty bread into the seasoned olive oil and was shocked by the robust oregano flavor. It was a sunny day, so we ordered a Margherita Pizza with Spicy Pepperoni. If you're worried about heat--don't be! The spicy pepperoni was not spicy, just flavorful. The pizza tasted fresh, especially because of the basil. Our waitress was polite, efficient, and sweet. They gave us plenty of food, so our lunch leftovers were also our dinner! We also ordered drinks like the Pacific Thyme and the Fresh Strawberry Mango Cooler. I loved the Pacific Thyme. You could taste the thyme, but it was in no way insulting to the sense. It mixed so well with the citrus and sweet syrup. I still think about it!

We were in the neighborhood and couldn't resist dropping in for our go-to: the Carne Asada Pizza and Szechuan Chicken Dumplings. It was the perfect call--both were absolute flavor bombs that totally hit the spot. I'll be honest, a past pickup order here left a bad taste in my mouth, but this sit-down experience completely turned things around. If you've had a hiccup with takeout, give the dining room a shot; the food and the vibes are much better in person!

The wait was 10 minutes. Sat in a booth. Ordered The Works Pizza and the Barbeque Chicken salad . Great combination for 2-3 people. Server was wonderful. Manager came by to check on us. Nice gesture . Place was full , great atmosphere. I recommend this place for pizza.

On this visit, our table ordered: the cauliflower piccata ($22.49); the shrimp scampi zucchini fettuccini ($21.49); a California Club pizza ($20.99); a decaf coffee ($2.99); a lemonade ($3.49) and a Coke ($3.69). With tax ($7.70), the ticket was $82.84, before gratuity. The cauliflower piccata is vegetarian entrée featuring a breaded, pan-seared cauliflower steak served on a bed of linguini. Per the name, the linguini has a piccata sauce. The scampi dish was interesting. The serving of noodles was reduced by replacing a proportion of pasta with shaved zucchini, in the shape of fettuccini pasta. The pizza was a reimaging of a California Club sandwich, in the form of a pizza: a cheese pizza w/ bacon; with fresh greens, tomato and avocado on top. This is the first time I have visited this, or any other California Pizza Kitchen, in over a decade. I am not complaining; I am simply surprised with the current menu. I'm aware of advertising campaigns that take place around me; I keep tabs of social media; and yet, I have not seen any advertising communicating CPK's focus on a (relatively) healthier menu. And there are a lot of menu items that are vegetable centric and try to be higher fiber / lower calorie.

The restaurant is clean and you are greeted with a friendly face when you open the door. My server, Forrest was great and ensured my check was correct before he gave it to me. With their happy hour from 3 - 6, Monday - Friday I was happy I made it on time. I ordered the Dynamite Shrimp. It is delicious with a slightly sweet Asian flavor. Although it says dynamite, it is not spicy. I also got the wedge salad. It's not a happy hour menu item but it's only $8.00. Don't forget that warm crusty bread with the balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Always tasty. My only knock on this location is they need to redo the coating on the front doors. It's peeling off and doesn't look good.

A pleasant surprise! The hubby and I have visited the Redondo Beach location off and on for years until it closed. Those experiences were usually around a 3 or 3.5. Have also visited other locations years ago but, this Rolling Hills Plaza location was a first visit and makes more sense as we're more local to this location. Fortunate to get the closest disability parking space to the restaurant and wheeled my mom in. We were welcomed by the front of the house and brought us to our table. For starters, chips and guac hit the spot and they brought us comp bread and oil. Mom is a very light eater so a kid's Hawaiian style pizza was her entree and a side of strawberries and pineapple. All very good! For me the charcuterie salad (half order) was so delightful. The veggies, nuts, cheeses, apple slices, and meats were a great mix. I would definitely get this salad again. Although everything was tasty, we had plenty of leftovers to boot. Shout out to Brooke, our server! She was so efficient, kind, and on top of everything. 4 stars and likely to return! PS: and they serve good decaffeinated coffee.

You can never go wrong with CPK!! We came in on a slightly rainy day craving some pizza, glad to say that cpk met all of our cravings! We were sat down pretty quickly and had such a nice server. She came by every so often to check in on us and if we needed any refills on our waters or if our food was okay. We had trouble paying at first because of the machine being slow but she was so patient with us and helped us out, I wish I got her name!! For it being a rainy day and not many people dining in, the restaurant was still lively and filled with such good energy!

The service on a busy Sunday was pretty fast and pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the complimentary bread that we get while we wait for our order. I ordered a new item on their menu which was the steak salad. It was good overall, but the pieces of steak were overcooked and too dry. It was difficult to chew and get them down, but everything else in the salad was a perfect mixture. The sangria I ordered was nice and refreshing. I think I will stick to ordering a pizza the next time I visit.

I understand how restaurants can get busy on a Friday night, however if there is genuinely good service- staff is able to balance. Felt very transactional. Margherita pizza on thin crust was good, the original bbq chicken with pineapple on cauliflower crust was also good. The energy was nice, people celebrating birthdays and conversations kept at a decent volume. I would recommend allowing the staff to be more authentic and not scripted would make the experience feel more welcoming.

We're back and... we're glad we did!

It's been years since we've been back... and we love it again! It looks the same, now a little dated but still nice. This place is now in our new list of "go to" places around here in Torrance, South Bay Area, even though there are so many amazing dining choices in our neighborhood! The food is as amazingly delicious as ever, and thanks to Lauren... she made our dining experience so much more wonderful! The bread with olive oil & balsamic vinegar to start us off are great! We've forgotten about how good this combination is... Speaking of combos, they have lunch specials, combos for less than $13. I had my old fave of Thai pizza and peas & barley soup and my wife had the chicken bbq pizza & Caesar salad combo. There are sandwich, salad, & pizza combo lunch specials that are very reasonable! Moreover, their prices remain low compared to other elite named restaurants in this area. Come here, and dine well... they've been looking and waiting for you!=o)

    Kids lemonade
    Brenda L.

The good: I ordered a kids pepperoni pizza which came with a pink lemonade. I also tried the brownie and snickerdoodle cookie. I am happy they have a kids menu. I like that their food options have different international fusions. Both of my toddlers enjoyed the pizza. One kids' pizza fed both of my toddlers. The bad: The desserts weren't great. The cookie wasn't chewy and lacked cinnamon flavor. The brownie was too sweet and dense. You're given free slices of bread with olive oil. The bread is a bit tough. The interesting: They're originally from Beverly Hills! The first time I tried CPK was in San Jose. I am a little bit less enthused about eating at CPK after finding out they sell their pizzas in the frozen section in the grocery store. This makes me think that they also just make their pizzas from frozen but I am unsure if this is true.

Came into California Pizza Kitchen expecting a good experience and left completely blown away. Stephanie was amazing--so attentive and on top of everything. I never had to ask for a thing. And Adio, the pizza chef... wow. I literally told him he's an artist because you can taste the passion in his work. You guys are killing it and Jasmine the manager thank you for the hospitality! I come to Del Amo pretty often, whether it's to go to the bookstore, shop at some of my favorite…read morestores, or just eat at one of the restaurants around the mall. I had seen the Bazille sign above the Nordstrom entrance so many times, but for the longest time I had no idea how to actually get there. For some reason, I also assumed from the name "Bazille" that it was probably some kind of salad or healthy/vegan place , so I never really bothered to figure it out. Well, I finally did about two weeks ago, and OMG -- what a pleasant surprise. You actually enter through Nordstrom and take the stairs or elevator up to the second floor. The restaurant is beautiful, elegant and intimate without feeling overly fancy. But the FOOD! Absolutely delicious. Everything we had was so good. And another pleasant surprise was the price. I eat out all the time and have tried a lot of restaurants around LA, so I have a pretty good idea of what places in this category usually charge. For the quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the overall experience, Bazille is surprisingly affordable. It's not "cheap" food by any means -- it just feels like a really good value compared to similar restaurants. The service was just as impressive. Every single person we interacted with was professional, friendly and welcoming, from the hosts to our server. And clearly the kitchen knows what they're doing because everything that came out was amazing. I can't believe I've walked past this place so many times without trying it. Now that Bazille is officially on my radar, the other restaurants I usually visit when I come to Del Amo definitely have some competition. I'll absolutely be back!

A restaurant in a department store? Yup…read more Executive summary: upscale department store has an upscale restaurant. The prices, however, are not out of line and the food quite ok. A: Food. I got the French dip sandwich and the French onion soup (see the theme). The sandwich was very good. The au jus was flavored with something a bit spicy, I get it's Cali but i prefer traditional au jus. The French onion soup is in a generous sized bowl (I split it with my wife). Don't get me wrong, it's good but it's not great. There was something missing that I couldn't out my finger on. Overall tho, it felt like quality food at reasonable prices. B: service: as you'd expect from nordstroms, service was exceptional. Friendly, attentive but not over attentive. I drink a lot of ice tea and my glass was never less than a 1/4 tank. C: ambiance. Ok, full confession, my wife brought me to the mall and nordstroms. For me, It's a bit weird to eat in the ladies active wear section but, looking at the demographics, I TOTALLY see why it's in that section. Picture lots of older ladies (predominantly 50+ white and Korean ladies) meeting up for a glass of Chardonnay and sharing ....HUGE PLATES OF FRENCH FRIES. I didn't know that's a thing. I find it fascinating. If you're in the mall, give it a go. It's quite the experience and position yourself to people watch.
