His general manager, Kellie, was extremely accommodating, and their staff was unmatched. Everyone assisted to ensure our day was perfect. And it was. My first time here...I've seen this place for over a year but never had the chance to go. My girlfriends sister treated us last weekend. I was impressed. She orodered an array of choices. Tri tip, chicken, roasted corn, salad, garlic mash, roasted califlowoer, garloc bread sticks and pizza she made sure we tried several things. The tri tip was by far my favorite, it melted in your mouth and so full of flavor. Everything else w as great as well the chicken was moist and juicy and the bits of garlic made my day, I love garlic. The roasted corn had the perfect sweetness. The staff was attentive and kept our table clean and made sure we didnt need anything. We wrnt at about 5pm so there really was no wait time to be seated. I've eaten at a number of different Stonefire Grill locations and this particular one is definitely the nicest of all the ones I have visited. It is spacious, clean and modern, as well as nicely maintained. The food, however, is essentially the same at each location, so need to worry about that. I had the 1/4 chicken and tri tip meal. I thought it was excellent. You get a choice of white meat or dark meat as well as the tri tip steak, choice of one side dish which can be a salad and two breadsticks. This all goes for $13.99, which I thought was quite reasonable. For the chicken you get a choice of mesquite bbq or lemon garlic, and for the tri tip, you get a choice of mesquite bbq or pepper garlic. The food was the best part of this chain restaurant. We all ordered BBQ -- ribs, tri-tip, chicken. The ribs were a little overcooked but very tasty. The chicken was just right. The tri-tip s was juicy and characteristically chewy. The service was the worst part of the place. While they delivered the food quickly and everything was plated nicely, it was just sort of dropped on the table without regard to who ordered what. On top of that, this place is not only counter ordered dishes, guests need to get almost everything that goes on the table: cutlery, napkins, plates, and drinks. This isn't a huge negative for me, but if I want to have 100% self service I could go to Chipotle. We got there early for dinner, just after 5 PM, and the place wasn't fully set up. When I got to our table I noticed it had a greasy film on it, like it had been wiped but not cleaned. The card holder on the table where they place specials and promotions had drips of barbecue sauce on it. The floors were barely clean. Then, when we went to the area where all the cutlery and plates were, they had NO FORKS, only knives. At the end of our meal -- remember, bbq that involved a lot of using our hands -- I asked if they had wet napkins. No? Are you kidding? Nothing but dry paper napkins that tear when they come into contact with anything sticky is not the way to take care of customers. I ended up going to the restroom and dampening some paper towels to hand out to my family so we could wipe our hands off. Not a good look, Stonefire Grill! Because the portions were quite large (a good thing for the price), we had leftovers, but we had to pack that up ourselves too. Another negative. Three stars for sub-par customer experience. So we dined there in Torrance last night, ordered the ribs and garlic lemon chicken meals. Both were fantastic! Great flavor, very tender! I have been a longtime fan of Stonefire Grill. Because I moved out of the area for a few years, there was a period of time when I didn't dine there at all. Two weeks ago I did a quick takeout order. When I got home, I was completely bummed to find that several items were missing from my order. I followed up with a phone call. Kelly Ann was very apologetic and assured me the entire order would be refunded to the card I used for payment. This happened and I also got a letter of apology and a gift card. Last night I tried action replay on a takeout order and everything was perfect! I had the roast chicken and tri tip combo plate with garlic mashed potatoes. It was really good. Another person had the tri tip plate and it was deemed top tier. A Stonefire brownie was the finale and it did not disappoint. I will definitely be back. Their salad is 5 out of 5! I've tried the BBQ Chicken and their Greek and they are both equally delicious. IMO, way better than Panera. The salad is a must get! But their meat.... 2 out of 5 stars. I ordered the baby back ribs meal and had to send back the ribs. They didn't taste right. Very bitter and the meat stuck into the bones. We opted to get tri-tip as substitute but the tri-tip was also very dry and chewy. It taste way better if you dip it in BBQ sauce. If you have to add sauce then I think the meat itself is probably not too good. Sigh..... The BBQ chicken pizza is a 3 out of 5 star. I like that it's thin crust but it has a lot of sauce on it. It's good but nothing too special. I would say food average is 2 stars but the cleanliness is spot on. That is why the 3 star review. I'm a Vegetarian and I've had Roasted Vegetables and the Cauliflower is really good! I got food to go this past Saturday ordered online.... I got there 20 Minutes Early and I told them I would come back...when I returned I was about 7 minutes later than when it should be ready...and the girl was really apologetic...I was like don't worry...she offered a dessert so I got the Carrot Cake (HUMONGOUS) seriously...a huge piece and she threw in some extra bread sticks...I waited longer and it took another 15 minutes and the manager came to apologize as well.... I like the fact that I didn't complain and they came out to apologize which to me means more than anything else.... This was the first time we have been to the Stonefire Grill in Torrance since it opened. I had been to the location in Tustin awhile ago and Loved the food so I knew this would be another good experience. I brought my daughter and her Friend here for Dinner and we decided to get the Family Style Meal with half BBQ Tri Tip and half Lemon Garlic Chicken. We chose a Caesar Salad, Mashed Potatoes and Baked Beans. Additionally we decided to get the Petite sized Baked Rigatoni with Meat Sauce. We got our drinks at the self serve station and that is also where you need to get your plates, utensils and napkins while you wait for your food to be brought to the table. I have to say I had forgotten just how much food you get for each item so we had alot to choose from. The Tri Tip and Chicken were cooked Medium rare as requested and the sides were nice and hot and seasoned beautifully. There were three of us in our party and even after having a couple of servings we still had plenty of leftovers to take home. There is also Dessert available if you have room in your stomach later. We decided not to get any because we were all stuffed. This was a good experience overall and we will definitely be back again. read more

We have so many dining options here in Torrance and the Palos Verdes area. Never thought I would feel this way but I will not be going back to Stonefire. So many of the local eateries have raised prices and cut portions, eating out is disappointing and no longer satisfying. This is a great place for a lunch spot. The restaurant is set up as a fast food joint. Basically, you walk in, stand in line, order your food, pay for it, and then you're given a buzzer to take your seat. Also, there isn't a hostess to seat you, you have to find your own seat. The restaurant is spacious so I can't see that ever being an issue unless you're in a large group over 8 trying to sit together. The portions here are huge so I would suggest sharing and trying different items. We ordered the pesto pasta, the works pizza, chicken tortilla soup, and breadsticks. It is a one-minute drive from South Coast Botanical Garden. The parking is easy. I ordered a Family Feast and extra order of Pizza. Their Freshly baked breadsticks are delicious, crunchy outside, and soft on the inside. I ordered a 16" pizza with half flavor Mesquite BBQ and the other half flavor "The Works." The part of the family feast is half of the chicken BBQ and half of it Lemon Garlic Flavor. We also have one full rack of Baby Back Ribs and one large bowl of Caesar's Salad. Stonefire Grill is just what the South Bay needed! This fast casual restaurant is perfect for both small and large parties. Plus, the food is pretty healthy, and there's something for everyone! Upon entering, there is often a long line, but they usually have three to four cashiers taking orders at a time, so the line moves pretty quickly. Once you have placed your order, you will be handed a number to place on your table. Seat yourself wherever you'd like. Make sure to pick up your own utensils, plates, and napkins along with your drink! Someone will bring the food to your table as it is ready. Stonefire has everything from protein entrees to pastas to salads. Everything can be ordered a la carte or as a family-style meal. Meals are the best way to go since you get a salad and breadsticks! My go-to salad is the Caesar Salad that comes with Romaine, croutons, parmesan cheese, creamy Caesar dressing. The dressing has a bit of a strong anchovy flavor, but I like it! I've also tried the Cartwheel Salad. This includes mixed greens, black olives, fresh beets, garbanzo beans, tomato, radishes and tortilla strips in a cilantro vinaigrette. I didn't like this salad as much, but it's not bad! As far as proteins go, I've tried the Boneless Chicken Breast, Salmon, Tri Tip, and Baby Back Ribs. I can honestly say that all of them are really good! The chicken and the salmon can be prepared Lemon Garlic or Mesquite BBQ style. I definitely recommend the Lemon Garlic for these two! They give lots of chunks of garlic, and the citrus sauce goes well with the chicken and salmon. Both are super moist! I usually get the Tri Tip and Baby Back Ribs with BBQ sauce. The tri tip is lean yet tender, and the ribs were surprisingly easy to eat and very delicious! It's no wonder that everyone raves about Stonefire's Freshly Baked Breadsticks because they are AMAZING! They're soft, topped with garlic and parmesan cheese, and are super delicious! You won't be able to eat just one! As far as sides go, I'd also recommend the Garlic Mashed Potatoes. These are seriously the best garlic mashed potatoes I've ever had! The first time I got a small bowl, and one my second visit, I insisted that we got a medium bowl...they're that good! Still fairly new and located in Rolling Hills Plaza close to the intersection of Crenshaw and PCH, you'll have to weave your way through the curvy plaza parking lot to find a spot. It sits in a corner of the shopping center on its own. I was thinking pizza which is pretty good but it's the meats cooked over mesquite wood that seem most popular. The chicken, ribs and tri-tip. And they're equipped to serve small meals, salads and sandwiches up to large family platters where you share and full blown catering. I like the combination plates like the boneless chicken breast and tri-tip. Add the garlic mashed potatoes and breadsticks and I'm in carb balance heaven. Meals in the $12-$16 range ain't bad. If it's lunch time, go with a sandwich or salad and you're in the $7-$9 window. Very clean interior and fast friendly service. read more

Rigatoni - The rigatoni was good. Carrot Cake - The carrot cake is thankfully still pretty good. Spinach dip - The spinach dip was tasteless and the chips had a weird taste (not sure if it is the oil that they're fried in or what...) French Dip - The French dip sandwich looked like someone squished it and then just threw it on the tray. The meat, which was really pink, was also tasteless and it was hard to eat because it did not pull apart easily so I just ended up with a couple big mouths full of meat leaving a lot of wet, mushy, soggy bread. Beans - The beans, of which I had one spoonful, were also tasteless and just straight up awful. We ordered take out and specifically asked for utensils. It was fairly busy at the pickup side so we were rushed out as soon as we were given our bags. Not too concerned about it because we trust the kid who read off the order / told us utensils and napkins are in there. We get to the our destination, open up the bags and well here's the list of things gone wrong: 1. No Mac and cheese 2. No breadsticks 3. No quinoa in the salad bowl 4. No Caesar dressing 5. No utensils Etc etc The order was so wrong I double checked the receipt they taped on the bags to make sure it was our order. Yup. Paid full price to only get part of our order. This would be a no star review if it wasn't for Berlin who was actually very helpful and had a great attitude when she originally took our order. Change is inevitable. I was a slight bit sad when Macaroni Grill had a fire here and closed up shop forever. I found a dish I really liked last time, but alas, probably won't ever go to another Macaroni Grill for it. With that said, welcome to the neighborhood, Stonefire Grill! I love your simplistic yet artsy decor! This modern place has a nice cozy feel to it although it is spacious. Parking in the Rolling Hills Plaza, where this is located, is free! Upon entering, we were greeted and handed a menu. You order at the register and have a seat. They will bring out your food to the table. We got a little buzzer like thingy, but it doesn't make a sound. I am intrigued as to what the system is that they use. As the server gets near your table with your food, a light goes off on their tray. On that note, the service here was great! We started off with a Garden Salad and they brought out breadsticks. Then came the Stonefire's Favorite Pizza which was really good! We thought we ordered The Works, but we'll try that next time. Thankfully, we liked the one we were brought. We didn't need to order the Tri-Tip & Chicken because we were pretty full by the time it came out. We took most of it home. To end the meal, the Heavenly Cheesecake sounded really good, so we ordered a piece. It comes with a blueberry sauce. The cheesecake was not heavenly, but it was good. Both my husband & I didn't really care for the blueberry sauce. I kept eating a few blueberries with each bite of cheesecake anyways. I think it needed more sauce and less blueberries, of which normally, I would be thankful for more blueberries. Next time we come, we will order less food. This is the one place I hoped was going to deliver a huge delicious helping of meat right to my belly. Its no lie I like to eat. StoneFire Grill is not a newcomer to my ears. I've followed the food adventures of fellow Yelpers who frequent the Fountain Valley and Irvine locations. So I was super excited to see a new location by the Misters office out in Torrance. It's very casual and a cross between a Pat and Oscars meet BBQ that wont empty the wallet. You order at the counter and pay and they bring it out to you. Meals are offered individually or family style. As well as sandwiches, pizza and salad. Don't forget their signature bread sticks. Everyone was friendly here. I mean everyone. There is no shortage of staff who wander around checking on everyone. Plenty of comfortable seating via booths and tables to accommodate parties of two or parties of plenty. Self serve Pepsi products with additional non soda beverages like Sobe and a variety of teas. My issue was the food. No matter how good it looked. No matter how good it sounds. No matter how many countless pictured Ive stalked online, I was not a fan of the chicken. Don't get me wrong. The food was not bad just did not meet my expectations. The food was not as HOT as I liked it. I assumed it was just standard to be served luke warm. Until I brought it to a servers attention and she said next time send it back. I was STARVING so I ate it anyway. I didn't have time to send it back, plus I was half way done. I had the Tri-tip and lemon garlic chicken combo with mashed potatoes. (very dry mashed potatoes) and bread sticks. Out of the two meats the Tri Tip was 100 times better. The pepper Tri-Tip was cooked to my specifications and topped with a scoop of Gorgonzola butter. I dunked it with house BBQ sauce. Super yummy. My only complaint was I did not order the larger portion. The chicken breast was very plain to me and was topped with a ton of raw chopped garlic and lemon butter that had already leaked everywhere. I could not taste any lemon. There was something off about my chicken, that I could not place. The skin seemed kind of rubbery and lacked the grill marks. Maybe I came on a off night. The Mister ordered Tri-Tip and Ribs. The Ribs which I started removing from his plate and into my mouth. See, I like to eat. The ribs fell right off the bone and paired well with the BBQ sauce. He said his food was "okay" My dog enjoyed the bones we brought home. His portion was generous. he probally would of had leftovers But I ate the remainder of his ribs. I would return and would stick to the Tri-Tip and Ribs and steer clear of the chicken. I would also beg for some Mac and Cheese as a side and say no to the mashed potatoes.
