If you enjoy cold food, being ignored by staff and forgotten about by management, you'll have the time of your life in here. Having to pay upfront means that unless something is finally being served to you (our plates came 30 minutes apart from each other anyway, so me and my husband didn't get to eat at the same time), no one will give you the time of day. After complaining about the unreasonably long delay, we were offered a complimentary dessert by the manager, who forgot about that too. Had it been a different restaurant who doesn't force you to pay before even seeing where you'll get to sit, and had my husband not already eaten his meal before mine arrived, I would have demanded a refund. I'm fine with fast food tier service when I'm paying fast food prices, here you pay a pretty penny to go fetch drinks and utensils by yourself. read more

Turning into one of my Favorite Restaurants! I do not write many reviews but feel compelled to write one for this place. Been here a few times now after new opening. It is ALWAYS crowded, but their execution of service and food has always been perfect. Love that they have lots of staff to help greet customers at the door. Do NOT be worried about the lines. It may seem like it will take forever to be seated and eat but you will be in and eating and out before any traditional seated restaurant. In the line there are Menus to think about your order. Also one of the staff starts to find and reserve your party a table as you get close to placing your order. Once you place your order and pay, you find your table with your name, go get drinks and utensils. Food is delivered to your table very quickly. I personally love all their chopped salads and they have never over dressed them. All other items are excellent. Plenty of choices for vegetarians and vegans. But their tri-tip and meat sandwiches are what I recommend. Very reasonably priced. I would recommend leaving a small tip on the tables. All the staff hustle hard. read more

The pesto was great very fresh... the Golden State Kale was missing the avocado that I was looking forward to. :( The brownie was hard, but if you heat it up, it gets really fudge-y, not too sweet, just right. So glad this great chain is expanding! The food is consistently delicious and they offer a diverse and flavorful menu. The bbq tri-tip and chicken breast are my favorites though. Juicy and tender every time! I like getting high quality food in a semi-fast food format (yes, you get your own plates and drinks like at Pei Wei, but that allows for better service and pricing). On April 25th I went into Stonefire to order a Carrot Cake with the intentions of not dining in. I went in with a former employee of this establishment. Upon entering, she went to use the restroom and I heard several employees from the kitchen talking to one another about the fact that she was in the restroom. She was not doing anything wrong and did not leave the establishment on bad terms at all. Not only did the encounter make me feel uncomfortable as a guest, but it was a truly unwelcoming. As soon as my friend came out of the restroom, we were immediately asked to leave by Alex (manager), without any explanations. I was not aware that previous employees were not allowed to go back to establishments they've moved on from. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant. Ate here for the first time. Probably won't return. The order was taken at 5:39 pm (per receipt). You order when you arrive and seat yourself. The cashier Roman was very friendly and even doubled checked that the roasted cauliflower was pepper free. When the food arrived, only part of our order was ready - the 6 oz tri-tip with mashed potatoes and my dinner salad. The server (wish I knew his name) was very nice and apologized if the tri-tip wasn't hot and offered to have it remade. Apparently, it had been sitting for a bit. He also explained that the kitchen was behind and the roasted cauliflower was delayed but would be coming soon. Tri-tip meal was eaten and I was almost done with my small salad and no cauliflower. The servers are more like friendly expediters, they bring the food but they don't return to check on you or to make sure you have everything you need. I went to the kitchen/server area and asked another server about my cauliflower. It was going to be about another 20 minutes because other people had come in and ordered. WHAT??? My item was now at the back of the line. I said I don't want it now. He got the manager. I explained that this is no way to run a business. He said he would refund me and I can still have the item... in 20 minutes. No thank you. He really didn't seem to understand or care that I had already waited 30 minutes for an item and they wanted me to wait for another 20 while other guests were being served who ordered after us. He was busy, in hurry, and just wanted to take of the refund and didn't care about having a return guest. BTW, when we looked at the receipt after leaving, the tri-tip was supposed to come with 2 breadsticks. They never showed up either. I worked in food service for years and this is the wrong way to do things. The tri-tip was nothing to write home about and the mashed potatoes were dry. I'm so sad I didn't like this place better. The service was very good, although at the cashier's station it took way too long and she had to get a colleague and a manager, and I don't know why - I was paying in cash. Anyway, I ordered a tri-tip/chicken combo - medium rare/dark meat. Both with the garlic sauce. And garlic mashed potatoes. Well...good thing I have a dog so the food won't go to waste. My chicken, while done, was pale, like boiled chicken and lukewarm. And despite the garlic sauce, extremely bland. The tri-tip was a perfect medium rare, but oh so chewy. I sent it back to be cooked more hoping that would soften it up. It didn't. It too was bland. I hope they are seasoning the food and not relying on the sauces to do so. Then I encountered real problems: everything has cheese. The breadsticks (they made me some without- not bad but no real flavor), the mashed potatoes and the butter they topped my tri-tip with. The mashed potatoes couldn't be done without cheese. They were nice enough to give me kids pasta with butter, no cheese, but it had a lot of water in the bottom of the bowl. And, I'm wondering if they're using real butter? Doesn't taste like it. I wanted to like this place, I frequently went when it was Macaroni Grill. I wish it still were. read more

I love Stonefire Grill. Today I was very disappointed, first I got told there was nothing lighter than a medium well cook(I like a medium rare). When the tri tip got served it was well done and tasted to rubbery and worse than jerky. Never order chips and salsa here, but will not be ordering them again as they where to soggy and lacked taste. I ordered an abnormal amount of breadsticks (26) and they came after the appetizers and entrees. Not to mention that the breadsticks where only good in the first few minutes of eating them, after that they turned to a creamy texture on the inside. They do not have the allergen menu publicly available because they're "not legally required to". Ordered a salad and subbed vinaigrette since I have a dairy allergy, but when it arrived it was definitely creamy. No idea if it was mayo based or dairy based and literally no way to know without calling. With two toddlers, I don't have time to sit on hold while they look up the allergens, so made my own dressing instead. Pretty disappointed, as until I developed this allergy, I've loved the food here, and now it's virtually impossible to eat here. Really curious why they're so against posting allergens?? Is it hard to just say "contains milk"?? Genuinely cannot imagine why not being legally required to do the right thing means you just don't do it, but whatever, I'll be taking my business somewhere I can safely eat without having to make half the food myself. read more

We have been to various Stonefire Grills in Southern California. The food has always been nicely cooked and delicious. We visited this one recently (April 26th, 2022). We were surprisingly disappointed. The meat in the Southwest salad was dried out. The lettuce was browned. The flavor on the baby back ribs was just wierd. I have had ribs at Stonefire Groll before and I'm fairly certain I was not surprised or dissapointed by the flavor. I don't see any reason for us to return there anymore. read more

By far one of the best experiences from a take out stand point I've ever experienced. Food portion sides, especially the salads are huge. Worth every penny. Prices are slightly on the cheaper side especially considering the sizes. Food is highly editable and customizable when ordering off there website. You can add, remove and even exchange ingredients. Most importantly the food is delicious. Delivery time was even fast, from finishing my order it was at my house which is 15 minutes away in 40 minutes and it was FREE! The bread is hard as bricks, too much garlic on the chicken, the ribs taste like they've been boiled in water for hours, and not even grilled. The tri-tip were both ordered as medium: one came out rare, the other well done. I ordered two two garden salads and they gave us a Ceaser and a garden. Both my wife and I will not be coming back. My boss bought us food here and i didn't have much time to look through the menu since we were working through lunch and i was swamped. The menu was overwhelming, too many items. I picked the BBQ chicken wrap. It was VERY disappointing. The chicken had no seasoning, no flavor, no bbq flavor at all. WTF. It was so bland and the wrap was a little soggy. The lettuce looked old (some parts were brownish). I took about 3 bites and i couldn't force myself to eat it anymore. I should have taken a photo but i was so busy i just tossed it in the trash. It was a really bad first time experience, but i really want to give this place another chance. The only reason i gave them 2 stars is because the garlic bread sticks were yummy. Let me start off by saying that I love the food at Stonefire Grill. But... it's always a struggle to get my orders right. My main point of contention is the tri tip. No matter what temperature I request, it's ALWAYS well done. I've tried medium well and medium and it's always well done anyway. I'll try medium rare next time and see what happens. Also, (and you'll see this is a recurring theme) they are way stingy with the bbq sauce. If you're going to force me to eat well done tri-tip, I'm gonna need a lot of sauce. Next, is my favorite salad (The South of the Border). I'll request it dry tossed and it's not... or no red onions and they're in there... or sub red onions for extra feta cheese and instead they add no feta at all. And half of the time they forget the tortilla strips. Also, the salads are huuuuge (which is a plus!), but why so stingy with the dressing? Also love their baked rigatoni, tortilla soup (when they remember to put the tortilla strips in the soup or on the side), garlic mashed potatoes (except for the occasional huge chunk of garlic) and the breadsticks, which are always divine. This was my worst dining experience ever, they smother the poorly cooked food in garlic to try to make up for how bad it is, my husband's was beyond well done and mine was still saying no, tri tip, the chicken was probably cooked a few days ago, drier than clothes coming out of the dryer smothered in garlic, service? The food is delicious and super cheap. I'm from Chicago, where we have amazing restaurants, so I'm a bit of a food snob. The quality of this food is fantastic. Another reviewer said it was an overpriced food court. I disagree. It was a cheaply priced, surprisingly good food court (I'm only calling it a food court because of the variety of dishes). Well the boneless BBQ chicken is too spongy. It seems the BBQ sauce was brushed on before being served. This being our first time and now last visit left us very dissatisfied. The cashier spoke too fast and had us confused as to how a meal order was configured. The receipt did not show adequate detail. I didn't trust questioning wether I had ordered potatoes with my meal after having received a very convoluted response to an order summary. My grade for the food provided is a D.
