Ok.. first time here and I just thought it was ok. The lady who helped us when we walked in was so helpful though. After she explained how to order ( order first then food brought to you) we found a place to sit. Ordered Cesar Salad, pizza (4 pieces) it did look good ( my son had it) I had a French dip with Cole slaw. The Cole slaw was sweet but not too bad. My husband had a steak and cheese sandwich. He said he likes that the meat was cut thick and was satisfied after he was done. He had a side which was the house made potato chips ( extra.. all sides are extra) with sriracha dip. That was good. Except there was more dip than chip. My French dip I thought was too thick. But.. I'm not being fair.. I'm comparing it to Philippe's. You can't do that. BUT!!! When you have to ask for more Au Jus for your French dip 3 times.. did I mention 3 times??? Ok.. anyway.. now why did that happen you ask? Well, let me Tell ya! It is because you really don't have a waiter. You don't.. because you yourself have to go get your own silverware, your own plates.. your own napkins.. yeah.. that part was a bit much. Plus no one told us we had to do that. Figured that out when we went to the drink fountain. This poor lady was there saying " water, all I want is water where is it?" I just told her to press the button under one of the fountain drinks tab that said " water" she said " Thank you sweetie, at least you helped me" Really, Stonefire Grill? You guys couldn't have waiters bring the silverware, plates and at least glasses of waters? Ok .. so in closing I thought the whole experience was just ok. It was our first time there and we were surprised that we had to order from the register but once we got the hang of things it was a pleasant experience. We ordered a salmon salad, ribs, garlic mashed potatoes, baked beans, chicken and we had samples of carrot cake. Everyone like and complimented the taste of their food. Mediocre is the best way to describe this spot. The staff seemed nice but confused. The ribs were cold and burnt but not in a good way. Tri-tip was also cold and came with a slab of butter on it. My Hubby and I love Stonefire. Today we visited the Torrance location! We decided to order takeout. We were immediately greeted with a smile by Omi. Omi took our order and even asked we'd like any refreshment while we waited. He made sure that we had our full order together and all the extras that needed! His execution of customer service was beyond on point! We were really pleased with his service, and also appreciated him checking in with us to let us know our order would be coming out shortly. 1st timer, ordered takeout pizza only - very delicious! 4.5 Stars for sure (but that's not an option), and can easily be 5 Stars if they add a bit more cheese and bake it a little longer. The great: - outstanding dough, so good I could easily eat it plain! The dough would make great dinner rolls and breadsticks! Soft though still thin crust except for the outer edge. A little subtle sweetness which blends well with the sauce (see below). Next time I will request they bake it a little longer for some crispyness. - service was terrific and very friendly. I especially appreciated the easy willingness to substitute two veggies for two others (no eggplant or zucchini for me on pizza). The good: - a unique and very rich tomato sauce with some tang, which balances the sweetness of the dough nicely. At most pizza places I need to add extra sauce on the side, but here it was actually a little too much causing a loss of balance between the dough, cheese and toppings. Nevertheless, it's still really good! The "needs a little adjustment": - needs a little more cheese to balance the richness & tangyness of the sauce. Don't misunderstand - it was still really good, I'm just stating it could be truly great with a little more cheese and a crispier crust. Even with less sauce it's richness needs more cheese. Pricing: very fair! And a good value for pizza considering the quality of ingredients, location in a high end shopping plaza, and the beautiful interior space. As a former managing partner of a highly rated fine dining restaurant that added gourmet pizza to the menu long before it was trendy, plus a 35 year commercial real estate broker who did biz with many dining companies, I'm a pretty good judge of restaurants. You are then brought your food (my order was messed up both times that I've been here). My food didn't come out for a while until I brought it up to their attention. Holy Cow, the long line was worth the wait. I was told it'd be a 25 minute wait, they brought out breadsticks for the people in line and wow those were really good. Got to the front to order within' 15 minutes and was went to my assigned table. Beautiful and nice place by the way. We order the family meal of tri-tip med rare w/ salad and breadsticks. Also ordered a 12" bbq pizza w/chicken and tri-tip and a small guac(I know lot of food for 3 people). Food came within' 10 minutes. I noticed we never received our small Guac so I checked the receipt and it wasn't on there, no big deal but our waitress brought us a small guac on the House.(Thank you for that) the quality of the food was amazing. Good overall experience. Dined here for our annual back to school dinner with our kids. Stone Fire is definitely a great option for reasonably priced dinner served family style. We had the crowd pleaser that included a slab of ribs, 2 full chickens, 2 large sides, a large salad and 18 breadsticks. I believe that came out to be roughly $75. I'm one to do overdo things and I hate to run out of food, so I ordered a pizza, grilled veggies and a small side of rigatoni, which added about $30 to the bill...a total win for a party of 9. We sat off to the side toward the front of the restaurant and on a slow/random Tuesday night, it felt like semi-private dining. Our food came out quickly and our order was accurate. They have boxes strategically placed throughout the restaurant for food that one may want to take to go. I would definitely return to this location and as previously stated, Stonefire is a solid, reasonably priced family or large crowd dinner option....Enjoy! read more

We come here very often since we love the pizza and Cesar salad and of course bread sticks . Today we visited with just me and my son ( husband usually tags along). When I walked in the door there where two young ladies in front of me in line . When I say the looked at me with hate and anger is an understatement . It was uncomfortable to be in line . I'm only mentioning this because I'm finding out one of them works HERE . She is telling all the employees your not going to say hi ? Excuse me hi I work here don't you know me . In my opinion if she's looking at me like that just as another person in line , imagine how she will treat me her being the waitress and me as the customer ! She'll throw my food at me for sure ! This has never happened and unfortunately I can't get her name since she's not saying it ( yes I can hear her conversations clearly I'm sitting right behind them unfortunately also ) and no I cannot move because I sat near the soft drink fountain as to not walk about from my son for too long this way I can see him directly from where I'm standing and I'm 2 steps away . This is my first time here. I was not crazy about having to order as I walked in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food came to our table at different times. Bread sticks, which were good, that were barley lukewarm. Then the salad, the cartwheel very good but the dressing is awful! Thankfully I asked for all dressings and sauces to be out on the side. Next the pasta came. The pasta was flavorful but not hot. Again with the lukewarm. Ribs arrived cool not hot. The flavor was very good. About 15 minutes later the cauliflower came. It was cool but, very charred. The sauce was terrible. They are trying to be too creative with the cilantro dressing and the sauce for the cauliflower. My biggest complaint, the food nor the bread came to the table hot. read more

I was super surprised with this place. I did not expect the food to be this good. It's set up something similar to a sizzler. Pay for your food first no real sit down restaurant being served. When I realized that I was disappointed at first. I ended up having a pretty good experience though. Okay. I'll be honest it feels really weird to do a review of a chain resturant. It feels even weirder to admit that this is one of my favorite restaurants. Period. The staff is so disgustingly friendly and accommodating it's shocking. There is something for everyone on the menu. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and have never had anything bad. My favorite things on the menu are the farrow salad, garlic salmon, and of course their breadsticks. The farrow salad is fresh and chilled. The salmon with garlic is so good that even a fish hater like me will order it. If you're a salad person get the avocado ranch. Its amazing. I love this place so much I use their catering services too. Just go there. I'm serious. I'll personally give you're money back. read more

Tip: the salad sizes are petit, small, etc. i'm 6'1, 230 lbs, and I can't finish a small salad. Start with the petit, unless you like a little to go. Also, grab a menu in the left as you walk in. The menu board over the registers is a little hard to read and you'll want to have your order ready when you get to the front. March 30,2019 came in approx 4:45pm. There was one cashier open helping a very difficult gentlemen who seemed to not know what bbq chicken was... the young lady stayed professional and polietly explained to him the food options he was inquiring about. My husband and i felt bad for the cashier.....anyways while we were waiting another young lady approached us and told she could take our order, we went to her cashier. She was so nice, friendly, offered us water while we waited for our take out order. We give Stonefire 5 stars for their customer service. Even while we stood waiting for our food, a young man asked if we had been helped or need anything :) i wish i could remeber our cashiers name. She was a young black lady with glasses! Give her a raise and the other cashier lady who handled that difficult customer with grace. We had the cobb salad, meatballs and tri tip and chicken. Everything was so tasty, fresh and made to order. So we reccomend ordering your food online for take out to avoid waiting approx 15 min like we did. I lived in central coast; where, I'm exposed to good tri-tips. Naturally, I have high expectations for tri-tips. Stonefire grill prepares meats well, but the tri-tips weren't much flavorful. I just don't really get this place. I was so excited to get a new restaurant in Torrance and the reviews looked pretty strong. But, it fell flat and I wasted my money. First off, the greeter was annoying because he asked us to get in line even though we were off to the side looking at the extensive menu. What does it matter where we stand? We ordered a salad and a side of veggies to share. The salad was supposed to have tri-tip. It comes out with hardly any tri-tip and then there was chicken mixed in. Huh? It also had no flavor. We asked for more dressing which kind of helped. It was just bland. The veggies were really bland. I wasn't paying an extra dollar to give them some flavor by adding feta. The ambiance is strange. Like a warehouse/cafeteria. I am just not understanding the concept. The food wasn't terrible. It was fresh. It just had zero flavor. I went home and ate popcorn because I was still hungry. Let me start with the bad so I can end on a good note. While I understand places get busy and wait times occur, Stonefire (the company in general not just this location, as I have had the same issue at multiple locations) seems to be notorious for trying to sneak by without providing you your full order. Every time I have had the issue it was handled the exact same way every time (must be in the employee manual). I order the tri tip for two which comes with the tri tip, side, salad and breadsticks. The way you know you are gonna get ripped off is they start by bringing the salad with the tri tip (not salad first) telling some excuse why it was late. They then say someone will be right back with your side and breadsticks. Then the sneaky part happens, the next person brings the side and drops it off and takes your number without mention of bread or even asking if you need anything else (which any other time they do). Then as you are eating what you did get you see everyone else receiving their bread. Once you do ask where yours are it's always the same story how they are backed up and don't know why enough where not made. But on the positive the food you do receive is delicious and fairly priced. And staff is typically polite and helpful. read more

My first time. The ambience is good. Though the system might be a little much in a rush. The Food was good, server forgot a item we paid for--hint to restaurant, not everyone is impressed with adding 'more' to something small intended to assuage inconvienence. Prices are good and the portions are well documented at the front where you order and pay. But the wine, what do you say, was "tiny portioned". Recently I noticed how the downsizing Häagen-Dazs' bars have suffered. I don't buy 'em alot, but you expect more for your buck that pops for a kid's tiny mouth. The wine by glass at Stonefire Grill was like that. Half a glass is not a glass, well, maybe for some effete snobbish pretender. I guess I am used to the 2/3-3/4 full glass pour I've had in the past at Italian restaurants. I don't drink but once a month and I don't eat steak more than once a month, for health reasons. But when I do, like some snobby french antecedent of mine might say, "Je n'aime ni un petit steak, ni un petit verre de vin". read more

I was hesitant to go, but boy was I surprised and satisfied. There's something for everyone, especially for those on a restricted diet. Quality of the food is great and there is quite a range- salads, pizza, tri-tip, roast chicken, sandwiches, pastas you name it. And not basic boring salads either. Mediterranean kale with handmade chicken patties. The coleslaw side is awesome, it's not creamy, it's a vinaigrette, so it's compliant with my eating habits. I always get the 1/4 chicken + tri-tip + coleslaw for lunch and take the other half home, because it's a large portion. It's so good, it's hard for me to order something else. Although I love the spinach salad with chicken and Mediterranean kale salad. The homemade chips with onion dip is pretty savoury and the small individual portion is still big enough to share. Ordering up front at the counter is a little weird considering how big the restaurant is. But it works and the food is really good. Apparently, they are known for their breadsticks as well. My friend and I visited this new location and was so impressed by the friendliness of all the employees. The food was fantastic and so fresh. We had the prime rib, mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. This is THE best fast casual place in southern Ca.! The menu is so extensive, from gluten free, vegan, low sodium, and choices of portion sizes from petite, share a plate, to entrees for families. I had the grilled cauliflower bowl with mozzarella and meat sauce ( with options to make it a meal with salad and breadsticks). This is a hybrid of fastfood and restaurants. We ordered at the front, took our number and chose a table. The inside decor is clean and nice, good for groups and families with kids. Items ordered: ribs, pepperoni pizza, mariana pizza, ceasar salad, Mediterranean salad bowl. The food came out pretty fast. Good service. Pizza is above average, ceasar salad is ok (looks like they chopped it too small), rib is meaty but lack of favor (favor in outside layer only) but good thing it is not burned, med salad is the best option. Jocelyn was very helpful and knowledgeable today with my to-go order concerning pricing and portion size. My food was prepared in a timely manner, and the nice lady who packed it went through it with me to make sure everything was there. The pulled pork sandwich is so yummy - not too chewy with just the right amount of BBQ sauce. I love the seasoning in the mashed potatoes. The cheesecake has two different texture layers to it with the addition of a centimeter-thick crust, and it comes with quality blueberry topping. I got the half-slice for $3.59.
