"Stonefire Grill Ruins Pizza Night." (That's the headline if Yelp reviews had headlines.) We've been on a search for excellent pizza here in the Santa Clarita Valley...slowly making our way (one Sunday's pizza night at a time) through every places that serves and delivers to us. We've already resolved that we're not going to get good NYC style pizza up here so we're hoping to at least have something we don't mind eating and calling "pizza." It's a low bar really...but Stonefire didn't reach that bar for us. We ordered just a traditional cheese pizza. I mean if you're having pizza for the first time at a place, might as well start basic to get a good baseline. The pie we were brought was overcooked...way more than just the pleasing brown spots to let you know they went beyond just melting the cheese...but seriously overcooked...the cheese no-longer moist at all...the crust with no chew left in it...and the sauce...I mean the pizza looked like it might have had sauce on it but, as is the tendency of some pizza places, there just wasn't enough on it to provide any actual sauce taste. This was especially disappointing as, when you order online, they give you the option of selecting light size...We didn't select that and get basically no-sauce. Most of the time when we get pizza that isn't fantastic, it kind of reaches a "well that was okay" level...not so here...We would not order pizza from here again. Super-disappointing. When we had half a pizza left, that would typically go in the fridge for a couple of easy lunches. (Cold pizza, it's a thing, look it up.) It killed me to put in the trash...I just didn't want to see it again. read more

I've never had issues with stonefire previously. I asked for the chopped salad with chicken on the side and breadsticks. Picked up order and chicken was on salad, told them my sister is vegetarian. They offered me tongs to pick it off vs. wait. It's fine I'll remove the chicken. But the biggest letdown was warming up the breadsticks for my kids bday and they were just dry bread. No garlic, no butter, no parm. I had to pause the b-day and toss in butter and garlic powder. I've always felt ordering stonefire is to have great food without the work. So disappointed. read more

This salad is so freaking good, I ate half of it before I remembered to take a picture! I substitute pepitas for the tortilla strips and ask for no cheese or dressing to keep it vegan. There is so much flavor on this salad, you truly don't need the dressing. I've added lemon and olive oil on it, and that adds a nice touch if you're in the mood. There aren't a lot of vegan or gluten free options on this menu, but this one is truly a gem if you have dietary restrictions. I have been ordering food and eating at Stonefire for years. Many family or business meals were provided by Stonefire and I sometimes met friends there for a meal - usually a salad or a shared pizza. Due to physical limitations we ordered and someone picked up food for 3 on Saturday. I ordered a "pulled pork" sandwich and salad with a pickle. I was shocked when my sandwich turned out to be at least half some kind of potato salad with a quarter inch of pork and 4 pickle chips! I would not call that a pulled pork sandwich! As I have never ordered a sandwich from Stonefire maybe this is the usual, but I would certainly not return there if I hadn't been before. A pork sandwich should be mostly pork... A friend chose this place and I read the reviews and really tried to sway them to go somewhere else but they really wanted to come here. I expected it to be horrible, so was surprised when it wasn't! I'm not saying it was great, but it was sort of moderately priced and decent, which was okay given the circumstances (of me having no control over where we ate). I asked the person at the register what he recommended and he said DEFINITELY a salad. He really steered me away from everything else on the menu, so I took that as a sign and followed his guidance. I got the BBQ Chopped with tri tip and chili lime dressing (instead of ranch) and it was pretty tasty. They also had Kendall Jackson Chardonnay for $7 a glass which was a shockingly awesome deal. Tasted my friends' breadsticks which looked great but turned out to be terrible. Dry and weirdly chewy. They have tons of heat lamps outside. Sadly, none of them work. This location has great customer service, quick service, friendly service, and the food, of course, is always excellent. They have vegan options and gluten-free options! Bring the whole family here; you will not be disappointed! They allow indoor seating now and do not require masks for Vaccinated folks. They also have plenty of outdoor seating available. Went there yesterday and was filling my class with Ice tea from machine. Unfortunately, I accidentally had a direct view to the Kitchen area and the grill. Disgusting..!!!!! I was absolutely shocked what I saw when I took a look at the grill and the appliances in the kitchen...!! Complete filth, and very unsanitary conditions. I couldn't believe what I saw at first. I thought they were filming a episode of bar rescue or something. I looked around for a manager because I couldn't believe this place was under any kind of supervision. There was a buildup of blackened crust and carbon all over the grill/griddle, and spillage of barbecue sauce and other food items stained all over the counters, including dried barbecue sauce stained all over the BBQ sauce container. I am not trying to exaggerate or have no motive to write this review other than to express my complete shock and discussed what I saw in the kitchen. Also, I sat in the area that appeared to be close to the employee entrance and exit door to the back Kitchen area. I say this because there's many employees sitting next to us just hanging out and using their phone 's whole time, and just seemed very relaxed. I understand it could be where the employees take their breaks and all, but it seemed very unprofessional and unsupervised. I have been eating at this Stonefire for as long as I could remember, after what I saw, I feel I need to take a Hepatitis C test, call Bar Rescue, and I will never eat there again. read more

We used to love this place. Tonight we ordered a tri-tip Bbq salad and a carrot cake (which was the main reason for us going here) for takeout. We got home and ate the salad which was mediocre at best. The Meat was fatty and tasted old. The highlight was going to be the carrot cake!! Buuuuut- they put cheesecake in our bag instead. Ugh. So I made a 20 minute phone call to the store and 2 call backs later to find out they can't credit on Apple Pay...they did however say that would send a $20 gift card to my home. That is respectable business practices, hence the 3 star instead of 2. I have been going here for years (since they opened over 20 years ago) but sadly it's lost its touch. This is not the first time I have been in Stonefire and honestly thought I had reviewed it years ago. We came in for lunch today (Friday) around 12:30. There was a line out the door and two employees were taking names and asking not to order until a table was open and they would let you know. We waited only a few minutes before we were told the table was ready and we could order. My wife got the mediterranean salad bowl which was only $6.99 and I got the classic burger that was $7.49 and came with chips on the side. I did not try her's but she said that she had "found her dish" meaning this was so good she would not order anything other than it when we came back. For me the burger was good, the bun was a little too soft, not sure what kind it was but the burger was falling apart at the halfway point. The chips were good, not sure if they make them there or if they buy but they tasted like they made them. Overall it was pretty good, not bad on price either. I have loved stone-fire, but the meat ratio for the salads has dwindled drastically. I understand everything is going up, but $20 + for salad with barely any meat. Today I got a salad with a few pieces of chicken. But last time I took a pic of my sad $22 salad with salmon. This location has gotten awful recently. The last few times we've gone here things have been forgotten. Tonight they forgot our lemonade with a kids meal and the worst part was there was MOLD in the apple juice and we didn't notice until some of it was drunk already. Absolutely disgusting. My husband and I had lunch with my mother at the Valencia location. The restaurant has two entrances. One entrance for take out orders and a second entrance for inside dining. They also have a patio. You have to stand in line to order, pay and then find a seat. The food would be brought to you. My 93 years old mother couldn't stand in line. I took her in front of the line, found no one to help us, so we found a table and waited until my husband came. We ordered one small chicken tortilla soup, a shareable Caesar salad and a 12 inches (the works) pizza. First the server brought the soup. Then the server returned with our salad but with no plates or utensils. We Told him we needed three plates and three set ups. He returned with one plate and three sets ups. Again we told him we needed a total of three plates. Finally we had three plates and the rest of our food. Our server was in his late teens and definitely lacked training. My mother had also ordered a to go pasta. We saw a server (not sure if he was the same initial server) trying to find the right table. My husband finally got up and got my mother's to go order. The entire service was disorganized with no one apparently in charge. The soup, salad and pizza were ok but lackluster. Because of lack of accommodation for someone unable to stand in line to order, the poor service, the lack of management oversight, and average tasting food we will not be returning. read more

This place seriously makes me so happy! Food: the food here is top quality which is crazy since the food here is so inexpensive. My go to foods whenever I come here is the healthy hybrid salad (with added tri tip) their burger (can't remember exact name) their pesto pasta (SO GOOD) & of course their tri tip (& all the sides.) So in short, I'm obsessed with everything here. The food here comes in big portions & are filled with tons of flavoring. I highly recommend catering from here as well, you get huge portions at extremely reasonable prices. Food here is easily 10/10. Service: when it comes to pick up the service here is very quick & efficient I've never had an issue wiry pick up. However, eating in is a different story. Sometimes I have a good experience dining in sometimes I don't. My last experience dining in was pretty bad. They got my order completely wrong after I specified multiple times what I wanted so as a result I ended up having to wait extra long for my meal while everyone enjoyed there's. Honestly though I won't let this bad experience keep me from coming back because the food here is that good!
