    Freshly washed at Stone's
    Cassandra S.

Staff is friendly. Prices is right. $20. $17 for loyalty members. There is no extra charge for the membership program. You have a tub, warm water, good water pressure and 4 different choices of shampoo. After the wash, there are lots of towels, a blow dryer and brushes to dry and make your pup's fur fluffy again. My only complaint are that when we first get there, the tubs don't look like they were wiped clean from the last dog and that towels are old, grey and thin.

We absolutely love coming to stones pet wash, one of a kind! The staff are always welcoming and and the service is excellent. They have a limited selection of pet wash and towels. I highly recommend bringing your own supplies and calling ahead of time to make that they are open.

Mikayla and Jupiter do a fantastic job with my dog! He doesn't like around his feet trimmed and they are so patient with him!

I take my fur baby here for her bi monthly spa treatment of bath and light trim. She always looks fluffy cute and smells fresh. Makayla does a great job! She also has been there since Jon z( also a great groomer) left. I am a happy camper, and my baby girl always looks great!

Very convenient spot to wash our rough collie. I basically stopped taking her to the groomer because it is not worth it anymore.

The person working the register at the time was very friendly, came to say hi to us and the dogs, and even offered the pups some free treat samples. We ended up buying a few rainbow swag items since Pride was coming up, as well as a few treats the dogs messily ate up when we got back home! We happened to be back in Monterey today since we had to pick up Clyde's (our older dog) remains (he passed a couple of weeks ago), and decided to go on a long walk along the beach trail. On our way back, we noticed Lenny was shivering a bit from the cold and we realized we forgot his jacket at home. So, we went to go find this shop again and had another great experience. The person working at the shop greeted us, offered Lenny treats, and talked about some of the CBD treats they offered for pets with anxiety. We ended up buying the CBD for Lenny, as well as an adorable shark hoodie, and some treats. We love this shop and the people who we've encountered working there! The issue is they aren't relaying my problem to corporate. I get Purina Pro Plan for my dog. I have attempted to come to this store for about 1 year now to get this item. The first time I noticed there were these worms attached to the inside seams of the bag. Somehow worms got inside the food as well. This was my first experience here. I told management about it. So now on occasion I come in and literally check the bags to see if they still have worms attached to them and every time I have come the worms are on all the dog food bags for Purina Pro Plan 30/20. I have told the person's at the register about 6 times now about it. This tells me someone either doesn't care or they are accepting that this is how it is. They tell me it's always been this way for that brand. But guess what!?!? Why at PetSmart that sells the same food not have the same issue? Never have I got worms on the bag or in the bag at PetSmart. Anyways, this needs to be fixed. Someone isn't doing their job and just accepting low quality items. When you set your standards low in life you get what you get, which is a loss of customers. Why not find a different place to buy from like PetSmart does? They never have any issues, why does PetCo? Corporate, feel free to reach out to me. I will update this later with a photo of the worms when I go into the store. Literally every single bag.

When I brought my dog home after grooming, I noticed he was in pain. Kenny said he had sores in several locations (under the chin and on the rear). I brought him in to his prescheduled Vet appointment the following day and the vet noticed a large sore on his neck under his chin where it was shaved too close to the skin and swollen rear-end with similar "razor type burns". The Vet had done a thorough wellness exam on my dog the day before grooming and then asked for me to bring him back after grooming so that he could finish and clean his ears to treat his ear infection. He examined my dog before and after grooming. He attributed the injuries to the rough grooming since they were not there the day before grooming at his wellness check. He prescribed several medications for these injuries. I had privately emailed the groomer and owner about these injuries. Instead of being concerned and professional in response - I was threatened not to expect a refund, they denied that it was caused by the groomer (who oddly had another groomer with him observing the whole time), and then criticized the bad shape my dog was in (he has been regularly groomed every 4 weeks). Amazing that they spent time criticizing the previous groomer who actually referred them due to her current poor health and inability to continue to groom large dogs moving forward. I received several threatening emails non-stop from the owner who then had the nerve to tell me not to email her in response to her unprofessional communications regarding my concern of the injuries he had received while being groomed at her "spa". My Newfoundland is a sweet dog who's been receiving multiple ribbons/awards at Dog Shows since 2024 and is used to being professionally groomed without injuries.

Virginia took our call and was nice at first, let us know there was space the next day and seemed really flexible about drop-off, haircut options, etc. The next morning, we dropped him off. A couple hours later, we get a call letting us know he was ready to be picked up and was told to pick him up immediately because he was barking. Upon pickup, we noticed his hair wasn't really trimmed, it was still really long. It just looked like he got a bath and blowout. We had sent reference photos of a standard puppy cut we normally get for our puppy with our normal groomer, so wasn't sure why his hair was still so long. They said they will cut it shorter but will need another 30 minutes. After another 30 mins, Virginia called us back and very rudely said "you need to pick this dog up, this is the best we're going to be able to do and he's barking and annoying the other dogs." Her tone and demeanor were incredibly rude and unnecessary. What confused me is when we showed up for final pickup, we heard several dogs barking and none of them were the pup we dropped off, I wonder if they were getting similar phone calls. Though they were able to get his hair shorter, it was very poorly done. The legs and underbelly area are still really long and there are several areas where his hair length is uneven and awkward looking. They charged more than our normal groomer, did a really poor job, and Virginia treated us very rudely.

I submitted an online application asking for a smaller dog and my preference for a poodle mix. They responded within a couple of days, as I recall, and asked a few more questions. After a few days, they contacted me with a possible match, explaining he was a senior poodle mix with a few medical issues. They work closely with Hitchcock Animal Services (county shelter) and had several dogs that had issues and needed a rescue with a strong foster program. They brought "Bernie" over, and I became a foster mom with full support from AFRP. They provided guidance and everything from beds/blankets to toys and even food! They provided the vet services to help Bernie be the best dog he could be. They invited me to various events (and even a TV spot!) to show off Bernie but unfortunately dogs with medical issues can be a little harder to get adopted. So after six months, I fell in love and became a "foster win" and adopted him. To this day, AFRP considers me part of their alumni family and invites me to activities such as local parades or fun events. They have a variety of dogs and cats, young to old, healthy to some having medical challenges, and work hand-in-hand with several shelters to help find fosters and ultimately final homes! I found their offices to be clean and functional, although if they were bigger, they could help more animals. I use Yelp frequently and know I make decisions based on reviews. I wanted to provide a positive and more recent outcome than some older comments which I feel are no longer applicable. The last note I will make is that as of 2024, they have new executive and support staff who are fantastic. So please consider discovering this great local rescue organization. AFRP have been around for a while but today, I find they are an excellent organization always improving on their processes and staff. So please GO FOSTER! It's fun, rewarding, and inexpensive. You get lots of love in return.

It started very well in the beginning early last year. But, today I picked up my dog and she was shaved again! They had her in there for 3hours!
