We've been to Stone's Throw 3 times, and unfortunately we've only had one great dining experience there. We went tonight with a 7:45 pm reservation, and waited for awhile for a server to show up at our table. The server must've been new or overwhelmed since he only brought the Jameson's, and a Figi water and forgot the Diet Coke. He later brought the bread, butter, and a diet Coke without ice? We ordered a house salad and our entrees. The salad came out and we waited for 45 minutes for our Filet Mignon and Seafood Papparadelle. My husband was fed up and I got up to speak to the manager at the front area to let him know we were leaving. He was dumbfounded as he was hanging out at the front area talking with two other guys. We were told our waiter put in the order 16 minutes before I said we were leaving! They talked us into staying, the meals were cold, and the Seafood Papparadelle consisted of 3 shrimp, 2 scallops, uncooked lobster, and a plate of wide noodles. It was really pathetic. There was no follow up, apology or explanation for the terrible meal. It was close to $200.00 with the to-go order we placed. The sad thing is they were not busy, so there is no excuse for this considering the money we spent. Also, the restaurant is extremely smokey with poor ventilation from their grill. If you have respiratory issues or are sensitive to smoke, this is a terrible place to go for dinner! read more

We've been coming to Stones Throw since it first opened, and to be honest, our experiences over the years have been a bit hit-or-miss. Lately though, things have really improved. Both the food and the service have stepped up, and we've found ourselves stopping in a lot more often. They've got a solid happy hour and a great variety of appetizers. Recently they've even added some unique meats to the menu like bison and elk. We haven't worked our way through all the new options yet, but we plan to. This visit was a quick one, just a couple of appetizers and a drink. Our usual pick is the calamari (still my favorite in town), but we decided to branch out and try some of the new items. We went with the burrata and the filet tips. The burrata was a standout! It was fresh and chilled, paired with ripe tomatoes, a drizzle of balsamic, and a flavorful house-made pesto. You could tell it was made in-house. The filet tips had great flavor too, but both the steak and the bread were on the chewy side, which made the texture less enjoyable. The bar staff is always friendly, and the manager never fails to stop by and check in. Overall, we just like the vibe here. It's the kind of place we want to see succeed, and it's been great to watch them hit their stride. read more

Her son's wife had developed cancer in her arm which is why I did this for her and all the family. Then shortly after this it spread to her lungs...Megan passed away recently and was just 45 when we lost her from cancer. I now live in Arizona and the family no longer wants to come here so I called last month to get my money back and cancel the gift card. I WAS TOLD BY THE ASSISDTANT MANAGER THAT THEY COULD NOT DO THAT BUT THEY WILL GET BACK WITH ME AND SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO. HE PROMISED TO TALK TO THE MANAGER. That was it I never did here back, so I called again a few days ago on Monday, 2/17 and talked to the assistant manager. After telling him the story he also said that they could not cancel the card and give me back the $600.00 I spent. So, he told me that he felt bad for me and would try hard to get this done but needed to talk to the manager. I will get a call in a couple days. Dinner | $100+ We had an impromptu date night. My husband had heard good things online so we decided to check this place out for ourselves. 1. The food was cooked to perfection and the serving sizes were generous. We had the goat cheese pillows for an app. For the main coarse, I had the sous-vide frenched chicken breast and my husband had the braised beef short ribs. For dessert, we split the cool chocolate cake. 2. The wait staff was friendly and attentive; special shout-out to Jessica who helped us tonight. 3. The vibe/atmosphere was inviting and fun. I usually sit at the bar and the service that I receive from Olivia is professional and top notch. The food is excellent and and I have never waited long for anything. I love the fillet mignon which is consistently tender and always cooked the way I like it. Their wide range of appetizers and deserts are also why I keep coming back.
