Ambience is very nice. Chilean Sea Bass was amazing. My wife ordered the fillet. It was cooked perfect, but it was the toughest fillet we have ever had. Manager came by and offered to bring another one, but she declined. My family and I came to this restaurant for dinner because the menu had surf-n-turf with steak and seafood. We arrived at 9:15pm and they closed at 10:00, hoping we wouldn't have been rushed because it was a week night. Our server was very polite, gave us extra attention (probably because we were his last table) and did not rush us at all. We started with their red sangria-definitely order one if you like this drink. They gave us a basket full of variety of breads and homemade pretzels. I ordered sea scallops with shrimp and was able to order a side of linguini. My family ordered crab encrusted mahi-mahi, and well-marbled cut age beef with crab cake Oscar and fresh asparagus. My wife and I go to this location about once a month. The service is always great and the food is very good. There selection of breads (pretzel my favorite) is always fresh and warm. The prices are a bit on the higher side for the quantity but the quality makes up for it. I especially like the happy hour 4-7pm. You can order a bottle of wine for about what you would pay at your wine store and take what you do not finish home. There house wines are very good as well for a casual glass. I recently had the chicken florentine and would say it was the only thing I have ever had that was on the bland side. Still a good meal and did not overindulge as is so easy to do here. My wife likes to get the steaks oscar with a side of Asparagus (50 cent upcharge for some reason). All in all a nice place with a quiet atmosphere to enjoy some down time. read more

Stonewood is a very nice steakhouse with an interesting menu and nice quality good. We at here with a large group and had excellent service and an excellent meal. The buffalo shrimp and brucetta appetizers were fantastic. Members of our party had a wide variety of dishes, and everyone was quite pleased. Kudos for the bread basket too, which included a few interesting choices, including pretzel bread sticks. My only complaint was that my sirloin was not quite the quality that I would have expected. Given the quality of the rest of the food, I will assume this was an aberration. With a good cut of steak, this restaurant is closer to 4.5 stars. read more

I just wanted a great steak for my 50th birthday and after checking reviews I decided on Stonewood Grill Tavern. Our server Steve was clearly experienced and knowledgeable about his job and menu. EVERYTHING about the meal was superb. From the fresh and hot pretzel bread and cranberry bread to the margarita, oak grilled shrimp appetizer I was really impressed. The filet was perfect and my date had the New York strip which was also outstanding. Baked potato, mashed potatoes... everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly. I got a complimentary birthday creme brûlée and we left full and very satisfied. It's not an everyday eatery but it is my new splurge steak restaurant. I will be back. read more

They brought out the kids' food quickly, the service was excellent, very attentive, which is a huge plus when dining with little ones. We took our daughter here for her birthday yesterday and I was blown away with every aspect of the restaurant. The ladies up front were so nice and all made sure they told her happy birthday. Then as we were eating our bruschetta (which was AMAZING) they brought her a card that said "happy 6th birthday" and about 12 employees signed it!! A huge plus to bringing kids here is they give out wiki sticks for them to have and play with so she was entertained the whole time. Our waiter was very nice and quick to refill drinks. I'm from California and headed into the bar around 10 pm for a drink with friends and they were super annoyed that we wanted to spend money in their establishment. My new favorite NE Florida restaurant, and we've braved the gourmet spots in St. Augustine. The gal at the front desk was rude, but millennials just can't seem to help themselves. Wait staff and the manager know what to do. Filet was perfect given the chef cooked it rarer than we asked which is what we expected. Most professional chefs don't like to overcook good beef, but we go for medium when trying out a new place. The Minister of Finance had the pork chop. I am usually not one to write reviews as of course everyone knows everyone can have an off night; however, our server Amanda was one of the best we have ever had and we have been around the block once or twice. We told her at the beginning that we had never dined with them and she immediately started telling us what they were known for in the area and what her favorites were based upon dining on her days off. We decided upon the tuscan chicken but substituted out the original side item for the mashed potatoes which she recommended that was absolutely AMAZING and the fresh catch of the night (grouper) with a crab crusted topping that was to literally die for. We are the type of people who like to have actual conversations with our server and get to know them and she was more than happy to talk with us even though we could see that she was definitely busy which is understandable on a friday night. We did have an issue with our order (the potatoes were cold) which she immeditaley apologized and got us a replacement for. She told us that she had only moved there a few years ago but was a manager at a different restaurant close by. She was definitely an asset to lose for that place though which is their (MY) gain. She said that she was happy serving but this place would be elevated by adding her to their management. Near the end of our dinner Amanda dropped off a dessert menu and mentioned their house made chocolate bread pudding which we had previously mentioned that we would probably be too full for but she said "just in case." Of course we caved and got it anyway, she did tell us a trick to put the chocolate cookie underneath and let it melt into the sauce at the bottom of the plate which was divine. The manager Dexter did stop by our table as well once we had finished our dinner who was very personable as well. He said that he was the head chef for the restaurant and now the manager. We informed him that EVERYTHING was amazing and he seemed very pleased. This restaurant looks outdated on the inside but their staffing is definitely NOT. We will recommend everyone that we know to visit this place from now on. One of the best places we have been to -- from getting seated to getting the check this place was on point and never missed a beat. Be sure to ask for Amanda you will not be disappointed. read more

Very good place if you prefer fish or chicken, otherwise a limited menu. Third time in a row, they didn't have the seasonal menu offerings and (by their own admission) their beef suppliers are unreliable. Their fish and chicken dishes are very good, but we really came for the succulent shrimp, bacon wrapped scallops, steak bits, that they never have. They promote them constantly via TV ads and direct email. They still seem short staffed and management has turned over. I hope they can overcome these issues and survive/thrive again. read more

Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The staff was very nice and friendly. And I was very happy to see that the tables were more than 6ft apart. The complimentary bread tasted marvelous. My entree was the ribeye and it was the best ribeye I've ever tasted! It was perfectly seasoned, cooked for the right amount of time, and the texture was very good. I didn't get to try the poke bowl, but as you can see in the picture the presentation is exquisite! It is a very large portion considering the price. I rate this restaurant a 10/10. We ordered two appetizers the calamari was pretty good but the steak tips were cold and way over cooked. The fillet Mignon was ok but also just lukewarm. The Salmon once again was just ok. These prices are outrageous and the food doesn't taste any better than Outback or TGIFriday's- where the prices are half the ones here at Stonewood. I 100% believe that this restaurant only still exists for people trying to act like they're better than others because they casually eat $50 tasteless steak. I also tried the "poblano rice" which quite literally tasted like plain rice. I saw and tasted ZERO poblano in this rice. I paid an arm and a leg for this meal, just to be completely let down. My husband and I went out for a 32nd wedding anniversary to Stonewood on Atlantic although there weren't many people in the dining room I was very disappointed with the service the food just mediocre I had to ask numerous times for refills on beverages salt and pepper and bread and butter plates in which to put our rolls, my food blackened chicken was so bland . a young lady who I can only assume is the shift manager asked how everything was going as she sailed through the dining room, without even stopping just after we got our food. read more

On New Year's Eve 2018 we were searching for a lovely restaurant where we could get dressed up and have an amazing dinner. We were staying at Ormond-By-The-Sea in a beautiful condo on the ocean. We decided on Stonewood, even though we couldn't get a reservation. When we arrived, the hostess offered us room at the bar and we were promptly greeted by Shain, our server. We started our drinks there but unfortunately a group of other patrons at the bar were quite loud and we had wanted a quite place to enjoy the new year. Shain was aware of the noise and when a booth by the bar became available he immediately asked if we would like to move. So considerate. Additionally, we had specifically come to Stonewood to enjoy their lamb chops but quickly learned they are no longer on the menu (even though they are still on the online menu!) so I was disappointed. I then chose a fish dish and learned they didn't have any more. So my third try was actually great as was all the other items we chose. We want to specifically thank Shain for making what could have been a disasterous evening into an amazing experience for us. Loud patrons and two entree fails, he still helped us ring in the New Year with his kindness, attentiveness and overall lovely demeanor. We thank him for such a nice evening! read more

Went the Saturday before Mother's Day. Had reservations and they were on time. Service was quick and attentive. The food and portions were great especially for the price you pay. The rib eye was delicious mom loved the filet mignon. We split the rib eye and they don't charge you for that which was nice. 2 steak entrees and 3 drinks (2 sangrias and a cocktail) for $94 before tip. Definitely a great place for a special occasion. Recommend with confidence. It wasn't a gastronomic experience so it was a 4-4.5. read more
