Beautiful setting and very friendly staff! The bar was entertaining and the wine was delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. The food was okay. I ordered the fried zucchini and a flatbread. The zucchini was sliced longways into wide strips, kind of like lasagna noodles. I was expecting the circles, like fritters. It was just a little different. The flatbread, though, left a lot to be desired. I guess I imagine a flatbread to be a kind of long, puffy bread dough with toppings. This was NOT that. Instead it was just a thin crust pizza on what can only be a flour tortilla shell. Tasted pretty good, but, like the zucchini, was just weird. I didn't enjoy it that much because the crust was insufficient for the rest of the meal, plus it wasn't a flatbread. Prices have gone up, since our last visit. They also have shrank the menu, and limited portion sizes. I was surprised with these prices that stone yard wasn't awarded a Michelin star award. My boneless wings which were supposed to be two flavors, tasted the same. It was a oily based mystery flavor, that reminded me of the last time we visited this spot. How wings don't have flavor is a mystery, I am not sure how experienced these people are at running a restaurant. Stopped in to watch the game and had a great experience. Impressed by their chicken wings, service and even got a visit from the owner. Lots of TVs, and more than a dozen micro brews on tap. ...and before you leave try the ice cream which is sourced locally from Cockeye creamery, the deep chocolate is fantastic and I'm a connoisseur. read more

Tonight was our 1st time at the StoneYard. We were so impressed! It started with the initial phone call to ask if they were pet friendly. The sweet gal that answered the phone said "of course...we LOVE dogs here!" She was so bubbly & inviting. We took off to try this place. Puppies are allowed on the enclosed patio. Our girl loved it! As it turned out, our waitress, Peyton, was the same girl that I talked to on the phone! Yay! She was amazing! The owner, "Dustin" came out & introduced himself, (actually I think it was to see our puppy, lol). They bought her a small dish of ice cream, after they made her a grilled chicken breast, cooked carrots, cucumbers & fresh blueberries! She ate well & healthy! My hubby got one of their fresh, hand pressed burgers. He said it was excellent - very juicy. I opted for the Berry & Nut salad. It was huge & delicious! I would consider myself and my family Stoneyard lifers. I've read the reviews that have been posted over the last few months. Denial has been our approach until the last week. The decline in service as well as food quality has gone away from why it once was. The price for a pint of craft beer is totally out of line. Post your prices... whose in charge during the evenings? Good help is hard to find but it's getting to become BS post COVID. Not an excuse anymore. Where's the owner? Employees locking doors prior to posted closing..... really??? Figure it out. Oddly enough, leadership doesn't monitor Yelp or they would take some form of correction as to the consistent posts about poor service. I'm tired of trying. We won't be back.... A great little spot in downtown Niles. On this visit, we were seated quickly and we had a server who I believe said it was his first day on the job. With a little help from the server training him, he did a fine job. Plenty of seating and a nice bar to have seat should you so choose. Full bar with an OK craft beer selection. Now to the food. For appetizers, we had the fried cheese skewers and loaded chips. The three cheese skewers contain four large cubes of deep fried deliciousness. Cheese is melted perfectly and is encrusted with a light and crispy batter. Simple a must have. The loaded chips were topped with bacon and melted cheddar jack cheese with a drizzle of BBQ sauce. A side of sour cream and french onion dip included made for an excellent appetizer. I decided on the Philly Cheesesteak which was delicious. It came piled high with plenty of shaved Angus ribeye topped with grilled peppers, onions and melted provolone on a toasted kaiser roll. Paired with a side of fries, this dish was everything I expected it would be. This is nice little gem and one that my wife and I will continue to enjoy. read more

Sandwiches were very good as usual. The chips were perfect. Every chip evenly cooked and crispy. They are nice sized and thick. If you like kettle chips you will really enjoy these. Had a get together at stoneyard today WOW ad this place fell off. A biker chick waited on us tattoo all over her arms ever where not putting down bikers or tattoos I have them too. But everywhere I've worked we where asked to cover them up. Didn't look like a sever is what I'm saying but anyway food is off and server was terrible think we seen her 3 maybe four times max! She reeked of smoke and so on. I or anyone else from our group will be back. Its like this restaurant threw in the towel. I never leave bad reviews but had to probably will be a couple more from the people that was with us they where just as shocked!! But we did get alot of free drinks for all her mistakes. This is our home town restaurant. Casual dining with 3 eating areas. Dining room, Bar and outdoor heated patio. There is entertainment on Saturday nights. Great menu with many good items. The French onion soup is one of the best I have tasted. The only other place I have had this delicious soup is in a pub in Gettysburg. No matter what you order you will most likely take some home because the portions are huge. I recommend this downtown pub and dining if you are going through Niles Ohio stop and order a meal here. This might be the only game in town,but we went after visiting the McKinley Library and Monument (beautiful building). McKinley birthplace is a stones throw from the StoneYard. It was very nice, offering an inclusive food menu for lunch and a large patio for enjoying the beautiful day and a couple cold IPAs. Our waitress was helpful with our choices and was very excited to tell us about the interesting places in Trumbull County. Our lunches were very good and the details of preparation made them each seem freshly cooked and special. My only regret is not having room for the marscapone lemon cake which looked delicious when it was delivered to our neighboring table. read more

We had a party of 10 for lunch today 7-9-2023.We have dined there quite a few times.Today was really bad, our waitress (Kayla) was very nice and gracious.However , the food was far from excellent,Kayla said everyone called off in the kitchen, They had no Soup at all, dressing for the nut and berries salad was not available. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich and it was cooked so much , you couldn't even bite it, so I told her ,she reordered it and it was just almost as bad, the breading was impossible to eat and no flavor. 12/28/16 We had the absolute best dinner here for Rhyans birthday! From start to finish it was delicious! Peg, our waitress was great! She answered questions about menu items and I love the fact she was attentive throughout the meal yet did not hover over us. I also appreciated that she made my daughters birthday special and suggested the wonderful S'mores cake. We would have orders cheesecake but this was waaaaaay come special. My daughter loves S'mores so it was perfect! The Lobster Mac and Cheese was truly the best I have ever had -- and I am super picky about my seafood. One of the five times the food was just off tasting, so we chalked that up to cook having bad day! The other four times food was on point. We had bruschetta for an app, very good, could have used a little salt. Then split a burger with bacon, bleu cheese and the house fries. It and they, were both awesome. Moist burger, loved the bun, didn't skimp on the bacon or cheese, hot and well seasoned fries. Great all around. Dessert. Almond cake. I was not a huge fan. Hubby loved. I felt like it was a little heavy and seemed like a fall/winter dessert more than a light, summer treat. The winner of this meal though was Joseph, our server. Very nice, not overly chatty, quick with refills and listened and chatted VERY politely while my husband asked him too much restaurant stuff (he's a manager elsewhere and was curious about their handheld devices for taking checks). me and my husband was in on 6~10~23 sat in the bar trying to have a night out with my husband and it was going great until our server came to my table I don't know if she was high drunk or both could hardly understand her and she kept twitching and dancing around completely ruined our evening she bought us the wrong drink which I get it accidents happens but when my husband told her it was the wrong beer she just walked away probably to high or drunk or both!!!! This was the first time my wife & I have dined here as we reside out-of-town. We arrived just before 6 pm on a Saturday & the place was nearly full. We were promptly seated in the dining room which is casual and has seating to easily accommodate parties of 12. The dining room was clean but noisy. The crowd was an interesting mix of young couples, families with children, middle-aged couples with friends, & the elderly. This restaurant appears to have the support of a great cross-section of the community! Our server quickly brought our beverages & took our order. Sadly, Coke products are not served here. Neither do they have gluten free bun or crust options. I ordered a cup of French onion soup & an 8-inch Carnivore pizza. My wife ordered a Nuts & Berries Salad with Grilled Chicken added. We received our order quickly. The French onion soup was very good. My pizza was on a flat bread style crust which was OK. The toppings were great, especially the amount of cheese. My wife's salad was huge! She also said it was filled with nuts & berries. No skimping! She said it was excellent. Our server made frequent follow-ups & refills of our beverages. I thought the price point was good for what we ordered & the quality. I found the Stoneyard to be a solid dining option during our visit & recommend it based on our experience. Second time we've eaten food is good but the bartender needs trained waited forever for our drinks this time and last so I went to bar to get my own drink and you would think I was asking her to donate an organ terrible attitude to be waiting on customer's should be somewhere no one can see her!! It's been two or three years since I first visited Stoneyard and upon dining there this past weekend my memory was refreshed with a gratifying experience. One of the determining factors in my return to the grill was its rotating craft beer taps - one of which is reserved specifically for the dark variety. If you read any of my other reviews you will find that having good beer available always bodes well with me. Sometimes it seems difficult to find a restaurant that serves both excellent beer and food, and it really shouldn't be! Stoneyard isn't exactly the solution to this problem, but it does make an effort to mix things up a little bit. The atmosphere was quite a bit different from what I remembered, as it seemed much brighter and accommodating like a family restaurant. I recall the first time seeming much more tavern-like. It was also much less occupied, and this time around it was pretty busy with a wide range of customers - families, young adults, older couples, etc. - yet the dining area still seemed perfectly spacious and peripheral table conversation was not overbearing. The food itself was pretty good, not exactly exceptional, but a tasteful and filling meal nonetheless. I don't remember what I ate on my first visit way back when - likely a burger of some sort - but this time around I went with the Wrangler Chicken Sandwich and a side of onion rings. The sandwich was solid and would be something I'd go back to if I wasn't feeling adventurous in the future. The onion rings were okay, not bad, but pretty standard for their food-kind. Like I said, the availability of craft beer and good food is a major attraction for me, and while Stoneyard isn't exactly at the top of the chain for either of those things, just the fact I know that I can attempt to be satisfied on both fronts is enough to bring me back in the future. I don't know if it will be as long of a gap it was between my first two visits, but I will almost certainly be back to sample Stoneyard's menu again. read more

First time customer's my wife and I stopped in for dinner and a show watched the bartender actually yell at a customer and a server while she was trying to take care of that customer never in all my year's of going out dinner have I ever witnessed anything so appalling!! The restaurant was recommended by our hotel, and I am very pleased we came. Started with the cheese crisp, loaded with spicy sausage crumbles, cheese, chopped tomatoes, onions, and jalapeños with a nice large dollop of sour cream on a flour tortilla. Then the chicken paprikash soup, which was very tasty, perfect combination of chicken and paprika. I told the waitress it was so good I wanted the recipe. She offered and we accepted butter and bread, which was fresh. I ordered the penne with meatballs and he ordered the bourbon marinated flatiron steak with portobello mushrooms and blue cheese crumbles, cooked medium. Utterly delicious appetizers - the fried cheese skewers and homemade chips were both outstanding - the house-made StoneYard sauce was crazy good! Filet medallions with reduction sauce over polenta cakes. Down right deadly good!!! Filets were cooked medium and done perfectly. Polenta cakes were paired well with the sauce and not too dry. Paesano nachos were very much loaded and the chips plentiful. Love the balsamic glaze drizzled overtop of the dish which gave a nice twist of sweetness to it. Great meatballs of fire - woah!
