I'm so glad they got rid of the trucks in the parking lot for deliveries and they don't do the professional shoppers anymore. The market is generally good, although the prices tend to be higher than the average at this market, particularly in this location. If you go to a Stop & Shop in Seekonk or Attleboro, the prices are considerably lower. The one thing I noticed recently at this location is they seem to be having a problem keeping ice cream novelties in stock. This seems very bizarre because the weather has been cold and it's such an obscure item. So what's the problem? None of the other Stop & Shop's have this kind of shortage with ice cream novelties. Stop & Shop increases thier prices and charges a delivery fee but when you call to complain about your delivery they say they have nothing to do with it. It is delivered by instacart. Well I don't pay instacart, I pay stop & shop! I am handicapped and live in elderlay housing. My last order when they rang my bell I told them I was on the second floor and handicapped the girl replied no problem. Then she left all my groceries on the first floor just inside the door. I had to have my daughter drive all the way from Coventry to North Providence to get my groceries upstairs and stop & shops answer was it's not our fault you should complain to instacart. Got some canned tomatoes for a recipe I was making. I like that they have some options with no salt added, which helps with the sodium intake. The store overall was very clean and the staff was busy getting stuff organized and properly on the shelves when I went. I always look at their mobile app to check out the specials and sale items, you can save a good amount if you take 2-3 minutes before walking into the store. I use to have to service this store at my old job, and I had nothing but bad experiences with the staff there. So when I was at a party and drew the short straw to get some supplies I reluctantly went. Nothing to change my opinion. Only 1 express lane open, and the cashier seemed miserable. This is my neighborhood grocery store now and it was two years ago as well when I lived in N Providence. Sadly they don't have the hand scanners that I love so much (makes shopping fun!). They're also not very clean. There's usually food on the floor in the produce section. Speaking of produce, it's no good. Most Stop & Shops have some quality assurance but it's hard to find good fruit here, I've even found moldy peppers more than once. I come here because it's convenient but try to shop elsewhere when I can. read more

This Market is super convenient. It's located directly off of 146 so if you need to grab something quick it's hop-on hop-off. For the most part the staff is really friendly, but of course there's bad eggs and every bunch. I particularly like the deli staff, they have a good sense of humor and are ready to serve. I've seen some comments about the produce section and they mentioned that other stores have better produce. I always seem to find what I want, but the selection can be bear at times especially during sales. They do have a lot of reduced produce which is nice if you want ripe bananas or cheap peppers if you're going to use them that night it's a good deal. They also tend to have a lot of odd, ethnic foods, maybe the hard to find ones that you wouldn't get at a more Suburban location. A few months back they started a bin with bananas and oranges for children and they can have a snack while they're in the store. The store is constantly running some kind of donation bin for the local community. I got the impression that they do a lot to support the community which is well needed in this area. I do find that sometimes there's a lot of stuff all over the place. Sometimes there's pallets on the floor during business hours. And particularly one time they were blocking off an entire sale section of me and me trying to be sneaky and get around the pallet I wanted up falling and getting pretty hurt. The manager did come over and talk with me, he wasn't very concerned at my status, but he did take care of the problem right away. The self-checkout is always backed up. I almost feel as if they need more registers in self-checkout and there's never enough physical employees to run the registers, therefore there are always at least two to four people in line at any given time. Forget about a Friday or Saturday night, you'll be in line for quite a while. read more

This location sucked before Covid-19, now it is even worse. Went in recently and found nothing that I wanted. You can't count on this company when you really need them. Went to Shaw's and they were fully stocked. Stop and shop raped us for years and now they are upping the prices on the selves in the name of the pandemic. This store is still disgusting. The parking lot reeks of rotting, rancid oil which should be your first warning sign. Buyer beware, prices don't ring up as marked and this happens with over 25 percent of items. I've been shopping at this location for years and I've finally had it. You shouldn't have to fight through swarms of fruit flies every time you're in the produce section. It's funny that the new S&S commercials state that the produce is triple checked. Seriously? I watched a stock person stack up a bunch of red peppers in various stages of rot. Twice I've gotten flour moth/beetle infestations from dry goods at this location. Twice, I've had to throw away all the related items from my cabinets. Now I purchase them elsewhere without issue. To make it even more painful to purchase the same items that are priced higher than they are at market basket, they rarely have more than one or two cashiers on hand. You'll wait longer in line to check out than you will to shop. read more

I just wanted to say that whoever put up the Christmas lights and stockings around the travel size items made my day. I was super down, but that cheery little display really made me smile and feel a bit better. I often drive out of my way to shop at this location, even though the Branch Ave store is closer. I find the Mineral Springs locale to be much homier, quieter and friendlier. It never feels like I'm shopping at a big corporate chain when I shop here - more like a mom & pop. I went to the mineral spring location and when i tell you i was disgusted and appalled by the way the customer service desk worker whos name was maria. When i asked her to repeat herself because i couldn't hear her she became very snotty with me. I didn't appreciate the way i was being spoken to. I have been shopping here on and off for years, but am finally done! I could go on and on...but here is a list of the annoyances just from the last 3 months -employees standing around the end caps chatting away so you can't get by easily with your carriage or have to beg their pardon to get to the product you need. -Several cashiers that are too lazy to bag, one in particular that will wash her register and act busy just so she doesn't have to help. There are few good cashiers and I will wait in longer lines to get to them. -not keeping the fruit/ veggie bags stocked up in the produce section. -yesterday at the bakery I heard an employee behind the bakery counter exclaim "wow, look at all the dust bunnies up here" ummm yuck. -scale is definitely off at register 8; or the cashier was leaning on it. Regardless 4 apples do not weigh 5 pounds and no one buys $8.00 of bananas, they are $0.39 a pound. Cashier refused to reweigh apples, I suspect a lot of people were overcharged that day. -opened packages, sometime I don't see that there is a hole in the plastic meat wrapping until i get home. -a bag from the customer ahead of me was placed in my carriage by mistake. Accidents happen, but when I called they insisted I return it. It was dairy products, how do they know I kept the products cold? Food that leaves the store can be tampered with, it should not be resold, the customer missing his/her bag should have been given new products. I would call the store and discuss with them, but I suspect management is apathetic at this location which is why so many obvious problems exist. If this is on surface, I worry what's going on in the back. read more

The only reason I frequent this particular Stop & Shop is because it's right around the corner from my house and for obvious reasons, convenience is key. It's like every other Stop & Shop, they usually always have the items that I'm looking to purchase, I like the low prices and I love my gas points! The main reason I am giving a 1 star review is based on my recent experience with the bakery department. A co-worker was getting married and we wanted to have a little party for her in the office. I stopped by, in person, to place the order for a 1/2 sheet cake (1/2 vanilla cake and 1/2 chocolate cake) with a cute little message and some flowers; easy enough. This was done on a Thursday night to be picked up the following Tuesday night. I was told it'd be ready by 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon and to just come on in and pick it up. After work on Tuesday night I swing by to pick up and pay for the cake, but low and behold, the kid working behind the counter can't find it. He finds the store manager who comes back and leafs through the binder of orders and there is my slip, stuck behind another slip and guess what, the cake was never made! I was told I would get a call back shortly, which I did. The manager explained that it was somehow overlooked and the cake would be ready for me to pick up on Wednesday morning. Ok fine. So I run into the store before work on Wednesday morning and the cake is sitting there waiting for me with a gift card taped to the box. They also didn't charge me for the cake, which was an added bonus. HOWEVER... I ordered 1/2 of a sheet cake and they gave me a regular ol' birthday cake size. I was pissed, but what am I going to do? I have to be at work in 15 minutes with a cake of some sort, so I didn't have a choice. Needless to say, I won't EVER place a custom bakery order from here again and probably not from any other Stop & Shop for that matter. It won't keep me away from doing my regular shopping here though because everything else can't be beat. read more

As far as Stop and Shops go in general, this one isn't the greatest. It's a bit tired, not the tidiest, and their produce is hit or miss. This location has a huge redeeming quality: it's international aisle! They have such a diverse selection and also have items I was previously only able to find by driving all around the state to different smaller markets. I can find my favorite chili sauce, mango chutney, Jamaican curry...you get the point. I still try to support the small family-run markets, but this a great option and also a convenient location as it is right off of 95. read more

I needed a cake for a last minute celebration at work, and stopped by Stop and Shop late one night recently. They had many choices that looked decent enough, but then I saw a Tiramisu cake that really looked amazing. I was hesitant because it was a "supermarket" cake....but decided to go for it because I really did not have other options. The cake was absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared. It disappeared within minutes and everyone loved it. It was really light and flavorful, and it was obvious that it was made with quality ingredients. It was a round cake rather than the traditional rectangular shape, and it did not have the ladyfinger cookies around the outside....this was the only difference from the traditional recipe, and it did not seem to matter. This will be my new "go to" dessert choice for the future. It was a large cake and cost 14.99...good deal! Note: Normally I shop at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, and Dave's Marketplace. read more

This has to be the worst Store in the Company......I live down the street and continue to pop in for a quick shopping and the place is never fully Functional...some part of the store seems to be always Broken down and taped off...most times I just get back in the Car and drive to Shores down the street...I do like the ORGANIC section but only at Lincoln Mall...Im not sure why NP Stop & Shop is in such a Mess but clearly someone should do something. read more

They need to hire more employees. The lines are always long, they seem to only have 2 cashiers on at a time. This in turn forces self check out to also have long lines, which self check out machines are frustrating and hardly ever work properly. This store also seems to have restocking issues. Due to a change in my job I decided I would shop here. The store mgmnt needs to better keep track of prepared foods expiration dates. On 2 different visits I discovered some items were passed the expriation date and i don't want to use . When i attempted to return them customer service would not let me exchange them- said i should keep track of expiration dates. Total BS. Also on one occasion I noticed there was something hanging from one of the freezers when i told a employee they responded go to another one- Calling HQ got me no where was told to contact local store, just passing the buck. The deli is always great because they have Boar's Head products. Like any Stop & Shop, the prices are great and the sales are always on time. The only pet peeve I have about this particular location is the AWFUL bathroom. I pray to God the employees are using another bathroom (especially the deli employees). There's water all over the place, never paper towels, and if there is a roll of paper towels, it's sitting on the sink as if anyone is dumber than the last person to use it. Yesterday, 11/11, I bought an already cooked chicken. When I got it home and took the cover off, it was burned to a CRISP!!. I had to drive back to exchange it. Today, 11/12, when I opened the new one and turned it over, the bottom was as black as charcoal. This is ridiculous and unacceptable!!! I shop at Stop and Shop regularly because I can find everything here and I can get gas points. However, the prices tags for sales needs to be clear. They put sales tag under items that are not even on sale and when you take it to pay for it, they show you the weekly paper and tell you it's not part of the participating items. I am so frustrated with this place.... I bring a friend here who has trouble walking to shop and we need one of those handicapped scooters and they are either always broke or not charged. Went today and neither of the 2 they have worked and we had to leave. S&S is a pretty big company so you think they would have equipment that worked or properly maintained but they don't here.So tired of bitching to them about it because they don't fix the problem. I go here sometimes. I pass by it on my way home from work, so it's only a convenience thing. They are horrible at labeling their items. Sometimes you'll find items with no labels at all. They leave up old sales tags, and don't put it current sales tags. You're on your own to figure out what the real price of everything is (there are two price scanners hidden along the back of the store). If a price ever scans wrong, just give up and return it. They won't honor what their flyers say or how they've labeled it. If there's an older blonde woman running the self checkouts, don't go to them. If you're getting more than 3 items one of them will confuse the register and it'll lock up, and you'll be there for 10-15 minutes until she comes over. You have to get the groove of how this place works, it's different than other (more organized) markets. read more

On Sunday I decided to walk 2 miles to this stop and shop. When I arrived at 9:10 at night they were closed, even though the online hours say open until 11pm on Sunday. This was VERY inconvenient for me. But I know it's not anyone's fault ,just a mistake. I hope it will be fixed soon. read more

OK, so this is the last time Ill ever go to Stop and Shop!! I just waited in the 12 items or less checkout behind two shoppers each with full carriages , the clerk remarked to both of them that it was 12 or less. Both had that deer in the headlight look like thats for everyone else but me. So when it was my turn to checkout I asked what the point of having the 12 items or less sign lit up if you can take as many as you want. She said the manager wont say anything to the ignorant customers as it might offend them. REALLY !!! So its Ok to not offend the ignorant customer who disregards the rest of us that are in a hurry ?? Well I can tell you the six or seven other customers who cued up behind me werent happy either. I stopped going to Shaws years ago for the same reason and now Im done with stop shop . I've seen better produce sections, such as the Stop & Shop on Warwick Ave in Cranston. Meat selection isn't the best. Never have chicken wings other than in the frozen section (Perdue 5lb bag). Bakery section always messy and lacking. Lines are always crazy. Person assigned to self check out aisles is never around. I've seen people wait for 5 plus minutes. I only go here because it's close to my house. read more
